Dave advice is truely really good. When he mentiones that he remembered the moves from 10 years ago, it reminds me of top chess players remembering exact board positions from games they played 10/15 years back. It just shows that if you wanna become a great athlete, you really need to constantly engage your mind rather than be passive or give not though to it.

A great comment, thanks. And I guess the most stressful moves become most etched in the mind.

ive had a friend point at my "need for everything to be perfect" and "you worry too much" when climbing outdoors, and he is correct, my mindset climbing lead outdoors held back my actual climbing ability, i then knew what i should spend time developing (my mindset).

Definitely something I struggle with too. Check out my interviews with Hazel Findlay and Lor Sabourin on the podcast - good insights for mental game!

@@thestruggleclimbingshow I actually think one class with Hazel, (and Angus) did more for my climbing than pretty much anything else I've ever done.

Dave has a wealth of experience to share that is very valuable. Nutrition just ain’t one of them, he’s the classic example of someone who claims to be scientific, yet distorts data and cherry picks studies to fit his narrative. The overall body of scientific evidence on nutrition for long term health benefits points in the opposite direction of where Dave is heading.

@@TroutMaskReplicaa See this NIH study, for example: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10380617/ "Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the United States, and diet plays an instrumental role in CVD development. Plant-based diets have been strongly tied to a reduction in CVD incidence. In contrast, animal food consumption may increase CVD risk." Edit: he deleted his comment!

Yes, please provide some more info, even in summary - i.e. what's Dave claiming, and what's the body of evidence pointing to?
