Happy Holidays! I believe you're right. They'll redefine what it means to be a Mandalorian. Din's conversation with Migs and other experiences sets the story in motion with Bo Katan's past experience with Sabine Wren. There might be a fight but I think it'll mostly be a cold war between the two until they hash out a new way. This is the way. I have spoken.
@@ATATChat, I do think they'll come to blows a couple of times while they're hashing out things, but I think their main focus will be to work together. It's entirely possible Bo Katan could be acting selfishly and come to realize, through her fight _for honor_ she might have deserved it before but will have to earn it with respect this time, learning a valuable lesson and changing the legend. Sometimes it's not about winning but how you fight the battle that wins the war. There's a quote out there somewhere, similar to that.
Bo-Katan has always been shady, and I expect that to come out more in Season 3. Fans think she's "good" because she helped Din retrieve Grogu, but she was only doing what it takes to get what she really wants- to rule Mandalore. Din is now standing in her way. It's gonna be fun to watch.
Yes and Din has already seen that she doesn't keep her word. Plus, if she wanted Moff Gideon that badly, why didn't she try looking for him? All she did is stand on the bridge like she owned it.
@@mksaber170 In all honesty, I never really liked Bo-Katan, lol. I was more of a fan of her sister, Satine. But you don't have to like her to like where the show is going. It WILL be fun to watch!
I could see Bo-Katan and the Armorer plotting against each other for the rule over the Mandalorians and Din being trapped between them as some kind of proxy leader.
@@ATATChat I would assume that she has to come back at some point in the show. Especially if she knows, that Din won the Darksaber. But we don't even know, if the Children of the Watch see the Darksaber as the symbol of Mandalore's ruler.
Adding to that, Grogu has Din's mythosaur charm from chapter 8. I wonder if he will need that as well as the darksaber to unite the Death Watch/Children of the Watch with the other Mandalorians. It'd be a way to see Grogu again and perhaps find out more specifics about the Darksaber through Grogu or Luke.

Djin is the best Mandalorian the children of the watch have ever produced. In my opinion they should marry and make Mandalore whole in more ways than one. Bloodlines last longer than oaths and symbols
This might actually be the best thing for season 3 to do, and it makes the most sense that it would focus on the Darksaber. Din being the leader would be an opportunity for the story to go somewhere. Maybe have an older him assist the Resistance since a Mandalorian ship did appear in Exegol
Personally, I think TLJ and Fallen Order are my favorite stories to come out of the Disney era so far, but I'd put The Mandalorian as my #3. Overall, I think Mando is just a good show with some episodes that are really great. Technically Siege of Mandalore is my favorite thing, but that feels more like capping off something from the old days rather than truly something from the Disney era. I'm also really excited about The High Republic. I've heard Light of the Jedi is one of the best Star Wars books, period.
I really hope that Grogu isn't gone for season 3. He is the one that made Star Wars relevant amd popular for the general public again, he even made my mother watch the show, so hopes that they don't target too much on the "Mandalore of Mandalore" and "Darksaber owner" side of the story.
Honestly I love Bo Katan but I admit it would be cool to see her take a downward spiral where nothing is going her way and then Bo just break or snaps. And she becomes the crazy leader of Mandalore. Like some of the old leaders of England who went crazy etc. I could also see her story be a good one. Where she is a hero. Ether way they need to do Bo Katan justice with a good story....
Let’s see... Maul defeated Pre Vizsla, Obi-wan defeated Maul, Vader defeated Obi-wan, Luke defeated Vader... ... in some weird way does that make the last Jedi himself the true Mandalore?
I for one am stoked to see how Din comes to terms with him having all this power in his hands and what purpose he's gonna give to it. I think he's an incredibly interesting and complex character and can't wait to see how this affects his evolution.

I wonder if Death Watch and Din's group will come into conflict over their 'right' to have the Darksaber. Din's group is a very strict organization, but also is in some ways, less selfish, helping accept children, and protecting children. Death Watch was a lot less noble. As we saw in the Clone Wars, they were willing to torch civilians alive with flamethrowers and kill children. Now they did save Din as a child, but they were mostly just looking for a new asset, much like how they let Darth Maul's syndicate kill civilians just simply to gain more support. As we see in this episode and episode 3, Bo-Katan seemed much more power-hungry than before. She was Pre Vizsla's second-in-command so I'm not shocked a bit. I've got a feeling she might go down the villain rout like in the Clone Wars, with maybe the Armorer also serving as an antagonist. (Sorry i this was long, I'm just so excited. That episode was awesome!)
Great comment. Yea, I think the Armorer concept is sound and I do dig the idea of Bo katan as antagonist. It doesnt harm the character...Both her and Din would be fighting technically for the same thing which makes it interesting.
In Rebels, Sabine’s mom says that since she didn’t win the saber over from Maul, it shouldn’t be hers. This won by combat scenario isn’t new, and as you showed, multiple people have won it from each other by combat before.
@@ATATChat Sorry I was just pointing something out. I wasn't disregarding Bo Katan's odd respect for the rules at one time and disregard for them at another, I was just saying that the win by combat rule isn't new.
Remember Bo's words something like "if we had shown half that spine against the empire, we wouldn't have lost our planet." Maybe after all she'll realise that she'll have to let Din keep the Darksaber for the greater good.

@@ATATChat or maybe not but if winning the duel was by killing your opponent it would go from Maul to Obi Wan to Vader to Luke but if it's about winning a duel no matter if they die or not it would go from Maul to Palpatine to Mace to Anakin to Obi Wan to Vader to Luke. He might not own it but if we're going by mandalorian tradition it's his.
What would be an interesting storyline is that if a seasoned Din Djarin sacrifices himself to save Grogu in a fight with Kylo Ren, and Kylo picks up the darksaber to add more pride to his character and advance that the greatest among the Mandalorians was no match for the power of the Dark side. Years away, but it would connect Din with the Star Wars mythos well.

I don't think they'll fight, but I think Bo Katan will die during the season, forcing Din to rule Mandalore.

As much as I love the quest style seasons from 1 and 2, I would love something different in Season 3 or at least fewer quests

Luke has no desire to have the Darksaber. He's focused on gathering force sensitives for his school.
