Darth Vader#11 is incredible | Let's talk Snoke and The Final Order

- If you have been keeping up with the latest run of Darth Vader, we finally arrived on Exogul which revealed a lot more information than I was expecting. Id argue that this comic really helped flesh out what Snoke originally was and how these cloning experiments began. The Final Order itself is also partially explained which I thought was great. I do hope we continue to get more backstory on this ancient Sith world!

I'm glad to hear it, star wars has always done a good job at providing context and thus making silly things in the movies make more sense in-universe. I honestly won't be surprised if some Disney plus star wars tv show that Rey's parents show up with baby Rey.
This actually adds a lot more depth to TROS and Snoke, thanks for covering this!
And to answer your question, I think some Kyber still exists, but it would just be heavily depleted
Im curious if in the new era after TROS they will explore new planets known to have Kyber etc. Maybe even Ahch To.

i think what they could do is have the Kyber Crystals used for the star destroyers survive the battle, so Rey's new Jedi Order find Kyber Crystals like how Rey was finding ship parts back on Jakku.

Snoke, and his fellow test tube brethren, may be an amalgamation of many different powerful force user cells. We have the clear nod to Luke's/Anakin's hand and the blood taken from Grogu.
Snoke is kind of like a homunculus. He even looks like the homunculi zombies a little bit from FMA Brotherhood
It's refreshing to see someone want to see MORE of the sequel era, as opposed to all the salty sequel haters who just want Disney to pretend like the era never existed.
This is definitely interesting... people will complain... but explaining has brought many people to enjoy the prequels a lot more... and I hope this happens with the sequels as well...
The kyber part is interesting i bet if exagol is in the unknown regions there might be millions of crystals in unknown space that need to be discovered.
But for me at least in the known part of the galaxy there is a shortage of kyber cristals.

So cool seeing the confirmation that Exegol was a plan from far before the sequels. I always suspected the Emperor would make sure to have all of his plans pre-started, especially in the case of his plans to build the Final Order should he ever die. Also, knowing Luke's hand was used in the Exegol experiments is cool, as it not only adds more to Snoke's backstory, but also I think implies that those electro-staff wielding foes were prototypes to the Praetorian Guard. So happy seeing the Original and Sequel Trilogies feeling more connected through the comics!
Finally, it's been 87 years since the last upload. Good to see another upload from this channel. Also, it's good to see Exegol being explored more thoroughly in the comics and we get a clear image of what Exegol was and what Snoke is. And I don't think Kyber is completely gone from the galaxy since maybe this mountain of Kyber on Exegol is just a fragment of what the Empire has collected. I think there is a lot of it across the entire galaxy. And Kyber can be found across the entire galaxy. Not just Illum.
I know some people complain it’s ruining Star Wars that it’s explaining and ties with the sequels but this is exactly what clones wars did with the prequels. Give it time people are too quick to brush all it off. I don’t like the sequels either but I’m honestly intrigued with everything their doing.

Exegol is such a cool addition to other Sith worlds. I'm glad we are about to learn even more!
Did you also notice that once Palpatine and his fleet fell, the darkened skies of Exegol finally parted to allow sunlight as if to show that the Sith have been finally destroyed and thus freed this planet of their corruption
The Thumbnail made me think Snoke was actually a clone made from Luke Skywalker's hand lost in Bespin.
That's the implication I think. It probably will never be confirmed. But my guess is Luke's hand added some value to creating force sensitive enforcers.
I mean ... if Snoke was replacing Vader ... Vader was a Skywalker, Palps wanted Luke as apprentice, also a Skywalker, and then he preyed on Ben Solo, also of Skywalker blood...
And considering Gideon and co longed for Grogus blood?

You knew there is this theory on reddit, which suggests that the Death Stars were just the beginning and the Sith Fleet was always Palpatine's endgame to forever ruling the Galaxy.

Also to tie it to Thrawn, his biggest concern with the Death Star was how it limited the imperial presence to one system at a time compared to having a well-dispersed fleet. Good to know that Palpatine didn't just ignore that critique

I never will understand why people expect Star Wars movies which have grand and very layered complex narratives to have a complete story in around 2 hours.
I find it makes much more sense to enjoy the movie for what they do have and understand that the holes in the plot will be filled in time.
Hope all this stuff is covered in a series. I’m thinking that this could be done well with the Ashoka series, Thrawn is gonna be a big part of rise of the First Order. And when Ashoka (and possibly Ezra) follow Thrawn’s trail they discover Exegol, and discover Rey’s Father.
I believe that Thrawn is actively working with Palpatine (probably to ensure his people remain safe after he sees the threat that the Sith Fleet could pose) and helping him ensure that the Empire once more rises to retake the Galaxy
That could tie in a lot of stuff. It would be incredible.
In simple terms
When the prequels came out, people didn't like them... but thanks to Dave Filoni and Clone Wars show, people love the Prequels now.
So, same could...could... be said or happen for the sequels, people don't like them now, but as time goes, writers and hopefully Dave Filoni create a show that covers between Episodes 6 & 7, the Sequels might become better.
Thanks for covering this and yeah, lets hope for a bright future for the Star Wars franchise.

@@miguelcorreia6777 I see your point, people hate the sequels with passion... but there is hope... look at the mandalorian show, it takes place between episodes 6 & 7 and people love it, especially when Luke came on screen. So I say there is a chance in the future, not now , but in the future.
Ideally we wouldn't need comics to fill in the gaps of the movies, but I'm glad they're at least trying to both fill in those gaps and acknowledge the movies regardless of the reception because in the end its all Star Wars.

And while I'm a completionist fan myself, the cold hard truth is that not every fan is a completionist and they shouldn't HAVE to be either. Some people don't dig deeper than the shows and that's fine. Furthermore, if Dave Filoni wanted to change Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus' survival that's his decision.
And yes, it is annoying when they retcon stuff but its not like when stuff gets retconned the previous version gets dusted out of existence. If you want the Kanan comic, buy it if you don't own it already, its as simple as that.
That’s something I’ve been saying a lot. I heavily disagree that any of this is pointless. The original trilogy and the prequels both had hundreds of books and comics explain the most random things in Star Wars, as well as explaining big things that had little to no answer in the movies.
In fact, a lot of the times when someone tries to explain something from the movies, they have to pull from an expanded source like a book, comic, Clone Wars, Rebels, etc.
I don’t care what some fans say about The Sequel Trilogy, The Sequel Trilogy were great especially The Rise of Skywalker 👍

My guess is that can now be reduced to a sentient creation being alive during the rise and fall, vs observing from a distance like TFA seemed to imply originally. At first, with TFA, I thought Snoke was someone who thought he would model his new regime after Palpatine, yet has some vague upperhand because he wasnt a sith etc.
Well, there’s still hope that black obsidian ring isn’t completely useless. I mean, if Momin could essence transfer into certain artifacts, I don’t see why a being as powerful as Snoke couldn’t do the same. Who better to eliminate the fledgling Jedi order & groom the heir to the Empire than an ancient dark sider under your control?

I don't think all the Kyber in the galaxy is gone. We're talking an entire GALAXY here, home to trillions of stars and untold trillions of planets. There's more of the stuff out there.

Unrelated note , but at the end the Final Order was destoried but what of the First Order . Yes one of their generals was destoried but I didn't see their dreadnaughts and ties at the battle of exegol.

According to the Lucasfilm Holocron, the screen (ie. film and tv) trumps the page (novels and comics) in terms of canon.

To be fair, Sidious clearly viewed Vader as disposable, judging by how he told Luke to strike Vader down and take his place. So Sidious making spares of Vader tracks.

About your kyber question: I don’t know exactly what happened to every lightsaber left behind by the Jedi who fell during Order 66. Were they collected? We’re they left behind? I would think if they weren’t meticulously collected by the storm troopers that these lightsabers would be in the hands of artifact collectors or traders. It’s always possible there could be asteroids, moons or planets with undiscovered kyber veins.
Sidious did collect every saber he could I believe.
I think that the protoclone shown in the mandalorian was some kind of experiment to bring back the emperor. BUT the imperials didnt know anything about exegol so they tried by theirselfs with grogu. Sorry for the bad english xD

Is the mountain of kyber shown in this comic the same piece depicted in the Star Wars complete locations book? In the facility where Vader is placed in his cybernetic suit Sidious has a massive kyber crystal several floors below. In legends that crystal was once located in the works but due to events that unfold in the novel labyrinth of evil, Sidious had the crystal secretly moved to the medical facility.

- Why Anakin just didn't told to Luke about this?
- Why create third death star if already had those ships?
- Was palpatine always planning to die and came back with this master plan only to die immediatly?

And to me Vader visiting Exagol takes away from the mystery behind this.
Only a person aligned in the dark side can gain access to the Wayfinder and face "The Bog" from what I remember. Perhaps that's why Luke also wanted Ochi, because he may have been able to get the Wayfinder being aligned in the dark side. This is all how I think of it at least.

No I think that other planets might still contain Kyber throughout the galaxy. I think places like Illum were the richest deposits but from memory there is other planets that contain the crystals. How else did Rey build her yellow blade?

@@ATATChat but how would she have changed the colouring? I’ve never heard of a light side technique that allows a Jedi to change the colour of their crystal at whim. A kin to the wands in HP, I was under the impression that your stuck with whatever colour you get unless you pour dark side energy into it

"Anti Chosen One" is a really cool description of Snoke. Just as Palpatine cheated death, he tried to cheat the prophecy as well through clones of himself and through Snoke.

Hey if they can make me like the rise of Skywalker more I say go for it. Given there's a 25 year time gap between the trilogies, there's a lot you can fill in there. I think Mando S3 we'll explore the first order more, and then shows like the acolyte will specifically flesh this out more. And the comic is already helping so 👍
I don't think Snoke was a direct clone from Luke's hand. I think he was more like a chimera at best, made from a little of this and a little of that. As for whether there's still any Kyber left in the galaxy, it's fiction. The writers can easily make up another source whenever they want.

Also, isn't interesting that almost all of Palpatine's attempts to clone force users either ended with them just being normal clones with connection to the forces (like his son) or whose who are force users, there bodies are always broken and barely functional like Snoke or Palpatine (I mean just look at them). It seems when someone tries to mess with the Force, it always comes with a punishment for such an interaction.

I agree with you on the usefulness of the extra lore. People seem to forget that how little of the lore we know and love from the OT is actually mentioned or explained in the OT. I mean, they never even say "Palpatine" in the OT!
Of course, you can argue that this isn't how movies should work and that they should be self-contained. That's a legitimate objection, but if you're going to hold the ST to that standard, you have to do the same thing with OT and PT, and they would suffer for it.

Read the comic. I think it repeats more than adds to the story. But your theory of the anti chosen one is very interesting and maybe you could dig deeper there. So more than the comic, I really loved your ideas
I think there is a Sith Chosen One Prophecy known as the Eternal One, which seemed to be some sort of Sith God that would forever dominate the Galaxy through sheer power.
I wanted to see Vader sabotage the cloning machines so he would have the last laugh.

I like that they're trying to explain the craziness off TROS. Like I cant imagine what these comic writers were thinking when they watched that movie. Probably along the lines of "Holy shit, how am I gonna make this make any sense?" But Luke's hand being used to perfect force sensitive cloning? Sure why not I guess it could be a possibility. Maybe even Omega could be related to Palpatine's study with cloning force sensitivity, if she actually ends up being force sensitive like she seems to be.
Does this mean that Snoke is more of a Skywalker than Rey?
