@@CabaretGrand Yeah, the pacing and placement of plot points is kinda trash in this game. Too many parts drag on while others are rushed. All that for a janky land-grab plot as a plot try to catch an international criminal who's been hiding in the shadows so well that it's super obvious who he is.

@@assassingamer5983 Nah, bringing Rikiya back would make me hella angry. And despite the goofiness, Yakuza, in terms of main story is a serious crime drama. Lau and Kashiwagi should've stayed dead. Rikiya, as much as I loved the guy, should stay dead too. I think the CIA had some kind of guidelines for this mission as "Do whatever is necessary to stop Black Monday", so as long as Joji pretended this was part of the plan, they'd probably accept it.
Yakuza 3 is such a weird part of the franchise because it has several things that are never brought up again and yet it's not like it's completely ignored either. The Morning Glory Orphanage is seen or referenced multiple times, it's even in the ending of Yakuza 6. So are all of Kiryu's kids. Rikiya or his yakuza family aren't mentioned, Joji isn't mentioned, Mine as well. It's very weird.
Narrative characters (villains from each game, minor supporting characters, etc.) either die or leave to go somewhere else, never to be heard from again (until Yakuza 7 randomly). Maybe its metaphorical for the fact life goes on, maybe RGG just didn't want to recycle plots and characters so each game felt fresh, or maybe they forgot, who knows. Occasionally a few plot elements do come up over and over like Kamurocho hills and Date, but characters who appeared multiple times like The Florist also randomly drop out of the story so I'm not sure there's a method to it.
