There are Big landlocked Tarpon and snook in that canal! I grew up right there! We use to fish it in a canoe before that noisy ass highway was there lol That was the edge of civilization in the 80s my man! Those were the days! Go up to where Atlantic Blvd meets the G15 and fish that culvert that runs to the south! Big Snook! Thanks for the memories brother I’ve been in Ft Pierce since 2004 love it up here! 😎🤙
I’m a Jersey guy, but Florida is like my second State. I located that area by exploring. Awesome freshwater fishing. I appreciate the good vibes. Thanks for watching n fish on !!
Thanks for the tip brother I'm headed there in June and I've been trying to find a good canal to catch peacock and other stuff
@@kingjory28 No worries my brother! Pretty much all of the canals and lakes in west Broward and Dade counties have peacocks! Some better than others of course. Where will you be staying? Maybe I could help dial you in better. Lmk C-14 canal which runs east west to the levy around Everglades has huge Tarpon. Be happy to help ya! 😎🤙 For the dream, yeeew!
@@Ranger830 thanks man, were staying on NE 4th Ave in pampano. I was trying to find a good map of the canal's with names so I could search
@@kingjory28 10/4 google C-14 canal it runs east west from the intracoastal water way in pompano to the Sawgrass expressway in Tamarac Rt where this guy was fishing in the video! Google it and then hit maps up top. Follow the canal west. You will see Palm air country club just a lil west of where you’re staying. There’s a bridge at North Palm Aire Drive that crosses the canal, this is a good place to start. Lots of peacocks usually. Also just north within eyesight you will see a spillway/dam if it’s open and waters flowing the tarpon and snook will be stacked up. Live shiners, jigs, swim baits etc. some of the tarpon are big, like 80 to 100 lbs. there are all kinds of exotics throughout this canal system. Tilapia, snakeheads,Oscar’s etc etc etc. going west from there on Atlantic Blvd you will see coconut creek and margate. The canals that run off the C-14 back into the neighborhoods are also loaded. I do not recommend trespassing in Fl. As everyone is armed lol 😂 no joke. But there are plenty of places like shopping plazas and parks that afford access! Also if you go further west at Rock island road and the C-14 canal there is a public boat ramp and park. Under that bridge is a good spot. From there come out of boat ramp turn left then turn Rt. Onto Southgate Blvd continue west to Tamarac. Any of the canals to the south all trough Tamarac hold lots of fish. If you continue on Southgate further west you will eventually hit the G-15 running north south along the sawgrass expressway, that’s where this guy was! Hope this helps you get hooked up brother. Tight lines!
Well done. Couple of tips which you most likely know already:
Splurge and buy an Aerator at the Bait Shop or Bass Pro. It will keep Shiners healthy at least all day. In an Engel Cooler with Aerator, the bait will last for days!
When fighting fish, tuck the butt of the rod under your forearm thus relieving the load on your wrist.
When free-lining a Shiner, consider hooking behind the dorsal fin (the fin on the back) so the Shiner will swim easier.
For those asking the location (the last fishing spot I fished four days ago), focus on canals that only have one dam from the ocean.
So sick of all the fishing trash! Thank you for your efforts and your ongoing success.
I own so much tackle its crazy (including all you mentioned). Keep in mind, I did a 2 day back to back fishing marathon to Southern Florida, 1st time to every fishing spot, only using gear that I can fly with carry on.
All my fishing videos outside of the New York 🗽 metro area, I usually just use travel gear.
Anyways, thanks for watching n the good feedback.
Keep nature clean.
Always check your line after a Snook. Most people use Stronger leaders when fishing fir them.
Great video looks like a great trip.
I was multi-species fishing, with a quick travel setup, first time hittin’ that spot n it worked out great. Thanks for the support n fish on !
Where is the exact location ima try it out
I'm a huge fan of Live Shiners n Shrimp...it's the Ultimate South Florida Bait..
Both work every time. Thanks for watching
If I'm not mistaken the little snook was a "tarpon snook" mostlikely you got break off on the fish after because of him
I knew it wasn’t a common snook, I was leaning towards swordspine snook. Thanks for watching n fish on !
Where is G15?
Fr
With gaar you have to let therm eat for a while to get past the teeth unless you have a super sharp hook with heavy rod and 30braid
I have plenty of gear, however I usually fly out with only a carry on/personal item and I’m limited on what I can bring. I usually use Owner/Gamakatzu hooks. When its a road trip a bit different. Anyways, thanks for watching n fish on
All nice fish man 💪🏼 Cool gear
Yeah thanks
Just happens to be staying in davie florida this week, going to try this g-15 tomorrow.

I’m heading to Hollywood Florida next week I am definitely copying you lol
Good luck 🍀 n Fish on !!
@@papicaine update! Just got back from Florida. (I’m from Michigan) I did exactly what you did. Went to bjs bait and tackle and fished the canal outside of it. Caught a Mayan cichlid, peacock bass, Florida gar, and snakehead all in the same few hours! Thanks for the video man it helped a whole bunch
@@chickensoup551 Glad to hear it helped you man, n good assortment of species for you 👍🏼
But, I don’t really like burning spots man, since there are too many irresponsible anglers, that keep every single fish, and leave garbage behind.
Great video friend
Really cool place to fish. Thanks n Fish on !!!
Peacock bass are actually cichlids apparently. I thought they were part of the bass fam but it makes sense they’re cichlids cause of their colors/pattern.
And I fish at that bridge on 16:30, those underwear’s you hooked are probably from the homeless people who sleep under there. The Shiner must’ve thought it was a good hiding spot.
Peacocks are Amazon native fish also. Awesome to catch, and yea unfortunately many homeless people all over the place.
Cool channel
I appreciate you watching bud, fish on !!!
great catch man looks like your in the are of plantation do you est any of the fish from the canal is it safe ?
Does anyone know where this is at
Nice 🫵🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks 💯
So answer this question for a northerner, You have any concern about alligators?
I’m from New Jersey myself (I happen to fish all over) But, I’m always checking my surroundings for wildlife including gators, snakes, etc. I would recommend anyone to do that at any location. Thanks for watching n Fish on !
I am coming to visit Miami next weekend. Not being from FL could you give some addresses to some of the canals for fishing. I dont know where to start when I get there.
I’m not from Florida myself, every time I travel I go exploring n use Google maps. Also, find local tackle shops, they usually provide good info. Thanks for watching n good luck
I like strike fish baramudi, salam from indonesia
Gulfstream clips ? 👀
That’s coming bro, got 4 or 5 vids before that one, I hit many places in Florida.
@@papicainedope bro , keep up the 🔥🔥 content
Awesome vid keep it up I subbed
Much appreciated n fish on !!
Use the uni knot. I haven't lost a fish like that in a long time.
That wasn’t the problem, toothy critters was the issue. I don’t like using wire leaders since it spooks line shy fish. Thanks for watching
@@papicaine Got you man. Keep up the good work. 👍
Pin? I’m on a week trip in ft lauderdale right now and I’d like to try this spot 😅
I went exploring the canal (long canal), no exact location. Exploring pays off. Good luck n fish on
Educate yourself on how to properly handle fish. You hold them incorrectly and can cause them injury to their jaw, impeding their ability to eat and eventually starve to death. Even if they swim off fine, you probably induced damage to the jaw. Please do better
How is he holding them wrong? That’s how u hold bass and peacock bass
u need stronger test line or leader too many break offs
I was using 10 lbs test flouro, so that was not the problem. Thats how i did get more bites. I lost fish that bit off the line, I could have used a wired leader but I would not have gotten all those hits. Risks to take. Thanks for watching. Fish on !!
@@papicaine those snook can cut through 30 pound fluoro. If their gill plates touch ten pound fluoro theyll cut you off. You definitely got on a school of them but even the little ones can break you off
@@papicaine Give braided line a try and you will never go back.
@@georgepatton9744 that’s all I use, usually for my saltwater setups
I literally live like 250 feet away from those spots and he's like come one people throw ur stuff out just shut up u tourist go back to where u came dont think u own that place or something
Hi, Im assuming you’re talking about when I say for ALL anglers to keep ALL fishing spots clean for ALL to use. I do travel all over, n I take my garbage with me, n it’s been many instances that I clean up after others. I don’t see anything wrong with that. But, we are ALL entitled to our opinions.
Thanks
@@papicaine peakcocls are not savages and funny when u say fish oun
Hi could you tell me where this spot is
