There are Big landlocked Tarpon and snook in that canal! I grew up right there! We use to fish it in a canoe before that noisy ass highway was there lol That was the edge of civilization in the 80s my man! Those were the days! Go up to where Atlantic Blvd meets the G15 and fish that culvert that runs to the south! Big Snook! Thanks for the memories brother I’ve been in Ft Pierce since 2004 love it up here! 😎🤙

@@kingjory28 No worries my brother! Pretty much all of the canals and lakes in west Broward and Dade counties have peacocks! Some better than others of course. Where will you be staying? Maybe I could help dial you in better. Lmk C-14 canal which runs east west to the levy around Everglades has huge Tarpon. Be happy to help ya! 😎🤙 For the dream, yeeew!

@@kingjory28 10/4 google C-14 canal it runs east west from the intracoastal water way in pompano to the Sawgrass expressway in Tamarac Rt where this guy was fishing in the video! Google it and then hit maps up top. Follow the canal west. You will see Palm air country club just a lil west of where you’re staying. There’s a bridge at North Palm Aire Drive that crosses the canal, this is a good place to start. Lots of peacocks usually. Also just north within eyesight you will see a spillway/dam if it’s open and waters flowing the tarpon and snook will be stacked up. Live shiners, jigs, swim baits etc. some of the tarpon are big, like 80 to 100 lbs. there are all kinds of exotics throughout this canal system. Tilapia, snakeheads,Oscar’s etc etc etc. going west from there on Atlantic Blvd you will see coconut creek and margate. The canals that run off the C-14 back into the neighborhoods are also loaded. I do not recommend trespassing in Fl. As everyone is armed lol 😂 no joke. But there are plenty of places like shopping plazas and parks that afford access! Also if you go further west at Rock island road and the C-14 canal there is a public boat ramp and park. Under that bridge is a good spot. From there come out of boat ramp turn left then turn Rt. Onto Southgate Blvd continue west to Tamarac. Any of the canals to the south all trough Tamarac hold lots of fish. If you continue on Southgate further west you will eventually hit the G-15 running north south along the sawgrass expressway, that’s where this guy was! Hope this helps you get hooked up brother. Tight lines!

Well done. Couple of tips which you most likely know already:
Splurge and buy an Aerator at the Bait Shop or Bass Pro. It will keep Shiners healthy at least all day. In an Engel Cooler with Aerator, the bait will last for days!
When fighting fish, tuck the butt of the rod under your forearm thus relieving the load on your wrist.
When free-lining a Shiner, consider hooking behind the dorsal fin (the fin on the back) so the Shiner will swim easier.
For those asking the location (the last fishing spot I fished four days ago), focus on canals that only have one dam from the ocean.
So sick of all the fishing trash! Thank you for your efforts and your ongoing success.

I own so much tackle its crazy (including all you mentioned). Keep in mind, I did a 2 day back to back fishing marathon to Southern Florida, 1st time to every fishing spot, only using gear that I can fly with carry on.
All my fishing videos outside of the New York 🗽 metro area, I usually just use travel gear.
Anyways, thanks for watching n the good feedback.
      Keep nature clean.

Peacock bass are actually cichlids apparently. I thought they were part of the bass fam but it makes sense they’re cichlids cause of their colors/pattern.
And I fish at that bridge on 16:30, those underwear’s you hooked are probably from the homeless people who sleep under there. The Shiner must’ve thought it was a good hiding spot.

Educate yourself on how to properly handle fish. You hold them incorrectly and can cause them injury to their jaw, impeding their ability to eat and eventually starve to death. Even if they swim off fine, you probably induced damage to the jaw. Please do better
