Have you ever experienced a hurricane? Where are you watching from?
Hurricane Fiona just tore through Nova Scotia, PEI and NFLD. Homes, swept away, lives lost, boat destroyed and only 50 pct of power restoration. 150 yr old tree gone. Mother Nature can be unforgiving.
Manchester, NH.. No hurricanes here but we get lots of Nor'Easter snow storms.. What are these people thinking?>?
Never have and hope I never do here in Pittsburgh. Pa. Made it through a couple blizzards though.
Many hurricanes and tropical storms here in Savannah Ga.
This year we’ve had 2 tornadoes 2 nights in a row in a town called Pembroke west of Savannah. Major damage and homes lost.
Here in NC heck yes.
So many people talking trash about this don't understand that this storm hasn't even made landfall and when it finally does on the opposite side of the state much farther north you'll get it. This is a normal heavy late summer thunderstorm version of Haulover Inlet. And I live 3 hours north of Miami
that cream center console may have ignored the warning, but he handled the inlet like a boss. Crushed the return...
Scout boats. Excellent hull
People like that are why I left the CG. They aren’t worth saving. CG says “you gotta go out but you don’t have to come back”. True Seamanship is not having to prove your abilities.
Natural selection
That 70’ Aquila running offshore made it look easy
I'm from Massachusetts, love the videos. Hope everyone in Florida is safe!
And the person recording... not a movement from the camera.. cool as a jewel. Cool Hand.
Years and years filming at this damn inlet my friend ;)
Capt. at ~3:00 is a real one, well done.
“Spellbound” very popular fishing charter in the Haulover area
Ok so never mind the crazy boaters out there in the big waves, the Boat Zone videographer is out there taking a beating just to show us this. Thanks Boat Zone!
Thanks for that!
I love this channel . America is certainly the greatest place on earth .
Yep those Hurricanes pop up out of no where, it’s only been forecast for 2 weeks so good choice DA
The North Sea on the east coast of England is like this on a balmy summers day!
I live in West Palm Beach. I have been here all of my 59 years and have seen numerous Hurricanes over the years. Considering how we (FLA.) sticks out like a sore thumb we really don’t get that many storms. The other thing too is until they land you never really know where they are going to end up at. We have been in 3 tornado warnings in the last hour! I
Howdy neighbor.
Similar here in Miami.
Sweet, not a boring night.
Praying it's not bad for you guys them tornados isn't cool stay safe everyone
Glad you are safe
Thanks Joni
This is wind chop. I dive in so cal and our dive boat charter fleet out of LA, Venture and Santa Barbara out to the Channel islands, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, Anacapa. Santa Cruz islands have wind chop and swells coming down from Alaska. It is sporty when you get air in your bunk bed. A lot of times the trips are canceled because of the large swells and wind waves.
I watched a guy on TikTok go to his, as he put it “hurricane hole” in the mangroves. Strapped down in his sailboat thinking he was secure. I told him about my experience with Andrew in 92’ and how I left Biloxi Mississippi for Katrina. He would not listen. All I am seeing now are ppl going into the mangroves to remove boats. Just unbelievable. 😢
Thank you for videoing this. Hope y’all were safe for Ian. He’s still doing damage in South Carolina.
We were lucky here in Miami. Thanks for watching Christine
@@BoatZone Yes y’all were!
Like a boss!!!!!!
Coast guard is gonna be busy...
Never mind their lives right!
They wouldn’t be if it was anywhere but Florida.
Yes, helping irresponsible idiots
Hope your safe and well. Praying for FL❤ from SD
Thanks so much
Thanks for putting yourself out there. I have been watching your channel for some time now.
With this hurricane coming do a lot of million plus yachts go out to sea to protect them
Thanks Lisa. I appreciate your support.
No, far safer in a secure marina. The seas in a hurricane is so huge and dangerous, even very large ships will divert around them.
@@Renegade040 I disagree, I'd rather be at sea than in the marina. I've seen marinas get torn apart in every big storm. I have lived on a boat for years
@@macbook802 that’s horrible advice. I’d never be on a boat for a storm like this. It’s just asking for trouble, cause nobody is gonna rescue you if something catastrophic happens.
As a Florida native we think people who stay on their beachfront property are foolish, let alone a boat. Best to air on the side of caution, and exactly what insurance is for.
@@lucians9083 ok, a piece of hay at hurricane speeds can kill you, wouldn't the best idea be to avoid hay at those speeds
Looked like fun to me maybe a little choppy but no big deal.
In Canada if you disobey bad weather warnings and then call foe search and rescue, you pay for the rescue efforts
That seems a little ironic since your already exorbitant taxes already paid for it...
Fun fact: In Canada murderers and child rapists are treated better by the government than the unj@binated.
@@Darkside540 oh look. An entitled Caucasian! No one is more entitled than Caucasians.
@@Darkside540 Yeah, but if they criticize official government policy, Fidel Castros bastard son will label them terrorists and send them to re-education camps 🤣
Here the cg can declare your voyage manifestly unsafe. If you then continue, they can arrest you.
🎶🎶 a three hour tour
Those storms there
Pretty sound Master on the first boat
These are probably people bringing their boats up from the keys to a protected inlet or storage facility
Yes I heard. However a little bit late I think. Most Marinas are closed
Hopefully they're bringing them In to port and hunker them down! I hope a lot of these boats aren't completely demolished!
Great day to test a boat’s seaworthiness! Captain Clown!
I’ve just been watching the live forecast and it’s coming in at a cat 4 with 150mph winds 😮…Hope everyone’s ok ❤
I remember when i lived in florida 30 yrs ago we used to have hurricane parties with the neighbors and have fun, wonder if people still do that today.
yes ;)
Thats awesome you got the guy fishing off the rocks. Some of the best fishing is right before a storm. Gotta know what you are doing though going on the rocks in a storm. Especially alone.
rough weather good fishing , we all know that .
what? Good for him, nice boat!
That was a nice fish... 👌
Thank you That was me lol 🤦🏻♂️😂

Can you make a video on how the Marinas are preparing and then the aftermath?
Yeah get off the boat and go home
My boat is dry stored in the Haulover Marina. They just closed for a few days , nothing special more than that
The Water is calmer with the approaching hurricane then on normal days.
The hurricane is on the other side of the state. Oh well good guess anyways
@@daffyduck9901 is it approaching though?
The eye of the storm
He is a smart man, best place to be since he has radar. Don't criticize the man. I would have do the same thing. Drag an anchor and take a nap with alarm on.
Be safe all
Thanks Mike
They handled it like a boss. 👍🏻
So just a question, would a little more throttle help the situation? I am referring to the very first boat in the video...
@@clifford5572 IMO, no. Not with a boat that big.
@@dickritchie2596 thank you. It looked like the captain was getting tossed around a little bit and I wondered if a little more throttle would give him or her a little more control. I also realize that watching a video and being in the situation are two completely different things... thank you for your reply
What is that beige boat at 7:30? It's beautiful!
Would have liked to see them dock those boats....
That 1st boat was heading out of Gilbert’s when I was crossing over the bridge yesterday afternoon. Weird
Weird yea
Praying for all
Thanks Kimberly
If your gonna exit this world, might as well be on a boat.👍
Damn right 🤘🏽
For sure 🍾
The first 2 boats coming back in through the inlet, far too slow, don't let the sea catch up to your vessel. Also, why in the hell was that third boat going out in these conditions, braindead.
You would think he would add power so he can maintain control. Must have sold his home in NY bought one down here and with the difference he bought a yacht.
Be safe down there this is such upsetting hurricane!! I love Florida
Thx
add more power
gash dang hurrikins
that first boat looked a lot like the one from life for sale on youtube... wonder if that was him
Great audio......sheesh !
Dude needs to find the throttle!!!
Some excellent seamanship here… Ill advised perhaps but no fair-weather sailors here
Isn’t the hurricane on the other side of the State from haulover?
The hurricane is most certainly on the other side of the state actually it's probably 300 miles away from Miami
@@daffyduck9901 Florida is only about 140 miles across. It’s maybe 135 or 140 miles from Tampa to Daytona. If it were 300 miles from Miami at land fall it would be more in Alabama’s longitude.
@@jesvans exactly. Strong winds in the east side too
@@GMbowtie350 the hurricane is about 50 miles west of Key West knucklehead so take that in consideration it's not hugging the shoreline right now you moron
I live 50 miles north of Tampa. No rain and no wind.
All those boats so far are dirty as heck, so hopefully they were experienced Captains
On the one that had the wave runner on the top deck.... How do they get it to the water? I'm really wondering. Is there a lift? Does the deck lower? How?
Normally a low profile crane
It is a crane - you can see the crane arm just to the left side of the wave runner as it passes
Different videos put together ?
Today and yesterday
the water level is so high
Just a few white caps!
No one waits for weather, when you have to Dexter a body...
Lol! Nice!
Wow. Surf. Is. Up.
Yes!!
Howdy 🤠 partner 🤗 how's the weather ☁️ in Miami
Awful
6:55 Bells Beach 100 year storm
be safe down therr
I have and had lake boats for years, but I'm a noob to the big saltwater fishing boats. What are the flexible antenna poles sticking out on each side? Is it for radio or what?
they have clips, you clip the line to the tip, then move them out 90 degrees so you bait/lures are more dispersed and have less chance of tangling. They can be actual lines or agitators/exciters
They are outriggers which are used to provide a wider spread of lines/baits when trolling. The idea is to cover more area & maximise the chance of a hook-up.
I am also a lake boater and have learned so much from the comments & general help from people, nice vids not just slating people who make mistakes
Lol them boys on the sport fish tried huh
It's actually smart to ride it out on the sea if your vessel is capable. You're definitely going to get wrecked moored in the marina
Likely moving from exposed marinas to better protection.
A little bit late I think. Most marinas closed here
Rough seas trials 😂
😂
Im a Hr North of Tampa. Never worth going out in a storm.
Stay safe
Is that @Ben Mallah's Yacht?
I'm ex-Navy and I can tell you now if you've got a decent sized yacht you are going to want to see how much of a pasting she can take and take her out in weather like this no matter the warnings! It's the human sailor in you to do so :-)
Everybody in the back
incredible
The captain needs to invrease his speed....
CAMERAMAN IGNORES HURRICANE WARNINGS!!! 😂
😂 relax. Born and raised in Cuba
Hahaha just messing with you! Love the vids!
@@codyrussell3224 thx man 👍🏻
The calm before the storm ?
Not the first clips. Bring your boat and try it. Let’s talk later 👍🏻
Imagine being so bored you take your scout out the inlet just to see what it’s like.
Expensive hobby. That boat is not cheap
Do some folks take their rigs out to open ocean and wait for the hurricane to pass?
If the boat is more valuable than the house... then hop in the boat follow the coast up north. Go.
Cap'n Crunch or Captain Morgan?
10/2/22 Where are they now? What are the Insurance Companies saying?
That a low blow smuggling some goodies from bmama thinking nobody will notice due to weather
I don think so. But you never know
Get on it!
Might as well take it out one last time
I would hate to lose power there and get slammed into the rocks.
1st boat looks like Ben Mallahs's yacht
Testing out those 10 millions dallor life insurance policies.
With his brains, I figured he would be on the flying bridge, holding onto metal.
Inlets are bad enough, but navigating one in a hurricane is idiotic, unless it’s somehow protected.
Is it more idiotic to stay out at sea? Ya I'd head in to port too.
Hurricane Hugo Andrew Wilma and Maria Vet 😂
lol
I'm a Hurricane Gloria vet
Ya'll have shown worse on a calm day...Are you ignoring the warnings? :)
Be safe Floridian boaters.
7:24 I don't think I have ever seen a boat that color. I am wanting to hate it, but I don't!
They might be moving their boat from the West coast of Florida?
Hopefully they learn a little more respect for the water.
What kind of boat is that at @8:18?
Pretty sure it's a Pardo
Pardon, Van dutch, Fjord. One of them
@@jimmyr1683 Wally I believe
If they want to do it go for it. Now don’t call the coast guard to help if you get in trouble
i'm in a hurricane right now !

I woulda took the week off and went to Bimini.
In those conditions? No way
