Boats in the BIGGEST Waves I've Ever Seen at Haulover Inlet
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 лис 2019
- Now let's get this straight.. these wave are huge for South Florida, rest of the world, not that big a deal... on this episode of Haulover Boats we see some big yachts get moved around like the little boats do in the inlet and surfers catching a wave.

Long period waves are easier to navigate though.
finally, someone who understands!
Okay
Couldn’t have said it better myself. The best proof is at 1:00 with the 20 footer coming in like nothing
I had a 34 foot sea ray in short interval 3-5 and it was pure hell. I’d take 6-8 rollers any day
My wife’s periods are long and hard to navigate
The authentic sounds of splashing water and no added music makes it feel like you are actually there. What a great video. Thank you
Seaside asmr.
Agreed
Also no over-caffeinated narration!
Zipzap is the best. The original ... the other 372627 that post are just copycats. This is the real stuff. No stupid hiphop
One of the best boat channels! 👌🏻👌🏻
Dude in the Mako knew what he was doing! Nice job, Capt. And the guy at 5 min with the loose anchor, SO SLOPPY!!!
The captain of the 1st yacht “hold my beer real quick” 🤭🤟🤙
Awesome, I just love watching these videos....you do a amazing job & keep up the great work!
thanks!
Appreciate it when you post information on the boats, make, model, motors, and esp. estimated cost :)
Thank you as always for your beautiful videos!
5:40 it's Absolute 70. Keep up your great work
Thanks!
2:35 that's a very attractive boat!!!
Sure is!
I agree. Beautiful
💯
And it shows how it's done!
Waterjets, 50 knots!
Love the hoopty cruiser outboard conversion. Can't say I've ever seen it done on a boat like this, but it makes sense!
Much cheaper...Better on gas, runs better, ton of storage space , cheaper maintenance etc with that Yamaha all the way back would still have about same waterline and usually faster not that I think they are looking for speed in that boat..
must be fun docking
1:46 was the best driver hands down
1:51 that yacht barely cleared !
I thought the same thing. I was even saying to myself
5,4,3,2,1... what it cleared that bridge?
4:45 looks like a Dixie 821 I have the same boat and it can definitely handle some waves
5:10 Looks like that bow's already taken a couple of whacks from that anchor.
Those swells have to be awesome. You have to be eye level at the bow to really appreciate it. When 50 footers and larger get tossed around like 25 footer in a chop , it is badass spooky. SEA SICK CITY.
Absolute mad lads heading out in those seas
Great vids...used to live on the East Coast....Haulover...my favorite beaches.
Real world application of boat design and pilot skillset. I appreciate it.
You’re going into the ocean, if you can’t handle tidal bore, give up lol. I respect those guys with the 20ft fishing boats.
I respect the guys who did this 200 Years ago!!
My dad used to take me out over the surf in a 17ft open bow 55hp. I told him once my friends dad said that boat had no business in the ocean. My dad said, “eh, look what the big boys are all dragging behind em in case thier fancy boat can’t handle it”. We survived, although I’m not sure it was a good idea.
@Mr Lion This inlet may not be a tidal bore but it is a true tidal phenomenon. More of a shoal.
@@ED-es2qv he's got a point haha why would they be dragging those tiny boats if they couldnt handle it
@@Malc664 ...why is this inlet so treacherous?
Vikings are the nicest boats. That sleek design. I love them
Geeat video. Waves not too bad. The volume of water compared to other days are incredable. The bigger boats took it well. As did some smaller ones (must be experianced skippers).
Otherwise everyone else stayed in. Cant mess with mother nature. She always wins.
Nice to see no idiots on the water other than the one with the loose anchor.
Thanks for going out there to film for us.
Stay safe.
5:02 doesnt that thing look a bit stubby, also i keep waiting for the anchor to slam a hole in the bow when hitting a wave.
jake lencher same haha
A single outboard? Maybe it’s a hybrid. Lol
Someone should have yelled "Stop playing with your dinghy"
Moto.......THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID...
@@slit4659 hehe
These are so relaxing to watch 🌊😌
That AMG boat was raw , it was defiantly worth watching the whole video . Since everyone has different preferences , you never know what to see in these videos
3:00 didnt spill a single drop of champagne. Cheers to the captain
Do you know why the yacht makes smoke ?
@@Iruoffssa diesel powered
MrT 06 - they totally are not. 🙄
MrT 06 - it’s because it WASN’T a smaller boat that is precisely why you’re incorrect. You don’t drive a Semi the way you do a sports car. 🙄
MrT 06 - it just plain was not. Period.
Buen video, se puede ver como la marea esta bajando en ese momento.
ASMR. These videos put me in a state of “good feels” - this one is particularly good for me :)
Seeing high status objects probably does that for ya
Jetskiers: “Im bout to end this mans whole career.”
Boat mechanic to captain of Ferretti : “looks like you blew a seal”.
Captain: “no, no. That’s just mayonnaise from my sandwich.
😂😂😂😂
I don't get it
An oldie... but a goodie.
The polar bear always made more sense than a captain.
Wahahaha
This is a very calming channel, I Love It !!! 👊🏽❤️
just reminds me how poor i am
LtTruck29 I feel the same way as long as I can catch walleye I’m fine with it! 😂😂
Shit cost $. My parents lived on a 45 foot Richardson try cabin. 1960 two staterooms two heads. In seattle.back in the 80.slip back then was 300+ dollars month. must be 100.00 a foot there.in 2020
@@brianjacobsen5762 I have custom made windows for a 1960 Richardson!
Dude, the waves were HUGE all up the east coast for some reason!
these vids, lower my bp! Thx, an Happy 2021!!
It doesn't matter how big your boat is, there is always going to be a wave out there that is bigger. Even if you are on a 1,000 ft cruise ship.
Yacht captains earning their keep. The one who let the swinging anchor hit the boat should be fired.
Yeah i saw that
5:04,.... Anchor, meet hull. Hate to see some of these Captains in the PNW at Westport or Colombia bar...
Looks like it's made a spot banging already....
They would get too cold lol...
The wealth on display on these vids is just staggering
money can’t buy brains though
Love your videos. I'm surprised they allow the wave runners to run around like crazy. Boats can't see 'em under one of those swells.
Nobody cares!! Aim for them!!
Love your videos, title is a little dramatic. Those boats were just rolling on doing what they do.
The Capt of the Mako handled that like a boss.
3:15 ol buddy fixing 2 fup.🇺🇸
Yeah, what was the Captain of this million dollar yacht thinking?!
So, from watching a whole bunch of these out of fascination, it seems like coming in is an exercise in "surfing" the ocean swells moving up the inlet. Especially if you're going against a lowering tide. Going out seems to be more about keeping your speed from getting out of control and keeping the bow from going too high or too low. Oh, and not killing your crew when you go flying and smack back down.
Better late than never! The inlet was definitely nasty looking. The mako 234 played it safe was good to see....The AB Yacht was something new to see as well...As always, quality video I enjoyed watching at lunchtime . Thanks ZipZap 🤙 #ChallengeTheBuild out✌
thanks!.. send me an email, if your open to it, i have some feedback on your vids.. zip@zipzappower.com
5:05 Stow that anchor!
6:06 Gilligan and the Skipper made it back!
scottymac62 I was sitting here thinking the exact same thing, “damn, someone refloated the SS Minnow...”
Same here🤣🤣
It's cool seeing the yachts going over the big waves. If I had one of those yachts my crew would have to have a license to carry. Especially if I was going to sleep on it out in the ocean. Every member would have a 38 on their hip. Lol
Why? Pirates where you live are there?
@@riverbuilder2251 yup. Large yachts that have a crew, off the coast of Florida, usually travel to the Caribbean. There are lots of pirates in those waters. Happens all the time. They board your vessel and rob you.
when going through there are you going to want to use full up trim?? im not a boater just curious..
Is Leonardo driving the first boat remind me of LADY M from wolf of Wall Street. Lol
Again thank you for the video!!
Florida sure is blessed with a gorgeous color of water!
I want that Viking Seascape. I've seen it, or ones like it, in these videos before, and it always seems to handle the waves with ease.
I’d expect it to, other than the fact that it’s the best fishing boat, and prob costs 8 mil base price
Another great video !! That boat at 5:15 is that single outboard it's main power or an auxiliary ?? Also I hope he knows a good GRP repair person !! Thanks for the video .
Looking at the cowling that looks like a 300hp yamaha. Very good engine
@@Serveck Just my opinion but a boat that large / big show have more than 300 hp . Just saying .
That boat was originally inboard. They stuck an outboard bracket on the back and ditched the inboard. I would have gone with twins though
That first handling it like a champ lol didnt seem to bother it at all.
I could watch these for hours
I just ordered some Haulover custom tampons for you. Those are “The biggest waves you’ve seen” at Haulover? What a rookie!! Sack up my friend!! They get WAY BIGGER THAN THAT!! Can’t believe you stated that!!
The pons arrive today before noon.
Looks like a pretty good break offshore, just below the horizon. Is that a reef?
wow; I spent about 3 weeks on the Soleado over 2 summers cruising the Bahamas!! great yacht :-) 2:01 and 2:47
1:53 thats cutting it close
Nah plenty of room. Theres one bridge i have to stop and drop my antenna, and i can still reach up and touch the bottom of the bridge!
Well when you can afford a 6m dollar boat who really cares
He had 8 feet.
@ that does not look like 8 feet. alot less than that.
He had plenty of room
Some pricey rafts going in and out there!
Must be nice lol
@@tonyderks9172 buy some amc and gme while you can, then you can get one.
@@gmeapetomoon7453 I have a bunch of crypto lol..
But crypto makes me nervous
@@tonyderks9172 Crypto is basically betting on the black market: every so often L.E. will catch up and it'll take a big hit. The thing is there's no way to know when that will happen unless you are in the relevant L.E. agency yourself. I won't touch crypto for this reason, absolutely no way to know when you lose your shirt.
I believe some of the most good moves from the captain were from the couple little boats. They realized that the water was just too bad to continue and they were able to turn their boats around without endangering themselves our the people aboard their boat.
I have seen big boats try to turn around and end in disaster.
5:41 does anyone know what this is? Nice-looking boat! Not my personal style, or price range (definitely not), but I can appreciate a good-looking boat when I see one
Absolute 70 Express cruiser
No way man!! Those idiotic reflective panels on the sides of the boat look like Fido's ass!!
@@larryslemp9698 Yeah, you're right actually. I mostly looked at the profile of the boat, but if I had the money for one, I'd have the money to have them remove those stupid things or make them matte haha
the number of swinging anchors heading into those waves is shocking...
Novices
The boat with the swinging anchor, was it designed with outboard power or is that a retrofit?
Even though it was moving smoothly, to me it was considerably under powered.
Any info on that vessel?
I would think it sunk by now, taken out by its anchor...
Retrofit...originally twin screws...mercruiser 350s.
I read that inlet is pretty shallow. I wonder how close to bottoming out some of these big guys come that draw a few feet of water.
4:16 looks like a conch, beautiful boat
That Ferretti 97 took a strange line coming in and really let off the power for some reason.
I noticed that too
The way he kept backing off makes me think they had a mechanic on board looking at an issue or some kind of test during a sea trial.
It was broken ... they don't typically belch that much black smoke, and it looked odd going out and coming back. Might have been a survey run ... I know there are at least two for sale in that area. Hull needs a little care given to it too.
it was loosing propulsion..run then stop, run then stop, something was wrong with it...
It looked like he was timing the wave , the boat actually stayed pretty level compared to others , and black smoke is exactly what you want to see when you accelerate hard on a diesel engine ,
It is probably better to charge in though , if you time it wrong or you do have a mechanical problem half in , you would be in trouble.
The first boat in the video had to go through some tough waves but after that the waves didn't look all that unusual to me.
it is the swell size that is very unusually, we don't usually see such large swells in Miami. for sure it can get more messy
The first vessel is a Neptunus 62, great vessel, handled the waves well
We go full throttle in most of them waves we only have a 18.6 ft boat and it has a 175 just hammer down
how do you know the specs on a lot of these boats especially in a lot of your other videos? are you a member of the same marina or something? just curious because you usually get engine and hp also that can vary from boat to boat. just curious. and i love watching the older diesels rolling coal when the hit reverse. work those cats. its beautiful. nice videos.
thanks, just years of doing this and getting very good at research and knowing how to find what i'm looking for. The ID of boats usually adds about 8 hours to the edit time of a video.
WOW!!!!!! Awesome shots!!!!!! Crazy big waves!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!
Thanks for starting the video with the thumbnail. In most videos you never even see the thumbnail
That little dog was like "fuck it, I'm out of here!!".
Smartest creature.
You MUST power through a following sea! 3:15 almost learned the hard way, if you don't, you lose rudder control...POWER ON!!
My friend down there was a Captin and we would often go out in vary rough sea in her California heavy duty sail boat. I don’t know how I let her get away.
What a strange boat at 5:01. Looks like the outboard was never meant to hang off the back of that thing. I wonder if it was cheaper to build a mount for the small outboard than to replace the inboard?
That is a 30' Tollycraft Sedan apprx 1978 or so. Originally twin 350 mercruiser direct drive...the swim step has been extended and outboard added. Maybe engines removed?
That dangling anchor at the 5:05 mark is a sure way to bash a fiberglass hull!
Yacht was “rolling coal”.
Haha i saw a buoy and a anchor. Life’s simple pleasures of watch people do 2 stupid things at the same time. Gold
Man, I'd love to see a power cat slice through those waves!
Nice day for the channel, still not sure this one or Saint Augustine channel lol both notorious coming in with a long fetch on your stern ebb at front. Shirt tail breeze sounds good
I love your vids , u have a very nice camera, can u get some surf action also tho, thanks keep it up :)
thanks! when there is surf.. very rare in Miami
@@ZipZapPower oh THERE were WAVES LIKE THAT IN MIAMI!!!!!!!!!!! i wish i was there to surf lol
The yacht at 3:18 seems to be polluting a lot of exhaust. is that normal?
Does the angle or wash of the waves block and/or go up exhaust on some of these boats. I’ve seen that black smoke three times now at the particular inlet.
II thought it looked like he lost power and had to restart it.
Man that predator 74 at 59 sec glides through the water nice for a big boat
I would love a home with a view of that pass. Constant entertainment.
it is possible.. this is the condo building next to the inlet at the inlet is a hotel, ritz carlton, next building over is the condos.. www.miamiresidence.com/bal-harbour/harbour-house.htm
@@ZipZapPower At those prices I will need to just watch via UA-cam.
Finally a good video with no music just te sounds
Wow…the best video.🎉
I have always wondered if a big hydraulic or pneumatic vibratory device could flatten out waves in inlets like this.
WTF AMG sticker on a Suzuki powered boat. 😂😂😂
Honey, it looks like a tropical storm is coming through, let's go boating
Well done captains!
Subscriber here and love your videos. But confused (admittedly probably a silly question). This is ZipZapPower.......there is also "WavyBoats" and "Livin Off the Land".....all very similar. All you? Someone else at Haulover making similar videos? Thanks - again, just a question. Love your vids.
Theyre rip offs. Came around after zip zap. Zip zap made cool boat videos Before cool boat videos were cool.
@@parachute82nd no need to trash everyone else. Zip was the first and great video's but the other guys are good too.
Enough space for everyone
Also "competition" is good
Would you rather to have only one brand of beer
Hi, those channels are not mine
Zip zap is the OG
These waves are nice, even, and regular. Go to Lake Michigan, navigating those waves is a challenge, cause they come from all directions at once.
Heh, you could hide my entire house and garden inside one or two of these craft! With maybe just the trees sticking up at one end!
Congrats on 99.9k subscribers!
This is an embarrassment to waves You need to change the title to biggest ripple ever seen at paulover inlet
Yea the gin palaces are impressive But waves Come on
2 demons attached - EXACTLY - and these waves are NOT big for this inlet. 😶 ONCE in the beginning and the rest look half the size of some his other videos.
5:42 😍
And again not a single life jacket was worn that day at Haulover Inlet, sigh.... Cool video though!
Rub a dub 10 men in a tub. Not a good idea at Haulover!!
5:02 , that anchor can puncture the hull.
2:16 skn 🇰🇳 wow
@ 5:25 what is that? it was originally inboard i suspect, looks like an old 90s cruiser that was repowered with an outboard. in its day it was sweet, today it probably still is,
Looks like the big boys know to ride the waves in.
