I will always respect and admire Def Lep's dedication and support for Rick after his accident and how they could have easily had just bailed on him but they didn't, Instead they stood by him, helped him recover and cope with what had happened then worked out various clever technical ways in which he could continue to drum and be their guy. Definitely a solid display of love for their brother.... love it.
While he was in the hospital Joe went straight to the studio and began building his drum kit, there was never a discussion that he wasn't going to the their drummer,
If you watch some of their earlier live videos, he had two arms. After the accident, they stood by him as he made it work, using electronic drums and foot pedals. In the 80s and 90s, they played packed arenas and put on a great show. I love the def Leppard song " bringing on the heartbreak"
Their drummer, Rick Allen, lost his arm in a car wreck. The band stood by him, and he was made a special set. He plays left hand beats with his left foot. Seeing him play live, is amazing. They call him "The Thunder God."
I love this song so much. And his amazing drum play always makes me a little emotional. You can’t ignore how he was able to play like he has two hands. Wow blown away still.
@@michaelwoodman8376 I think "Excitable" was the worst. I'm grateful to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" hitting the way it did. It introduced more people to a band that I have loved since "High and Dry."
Rick Allen is the drummer. On the afternoon of 31 December 1984, Allen was involved in a car crash, with his then-girlfriend Miriam Barendsen, on the A57 road in the countryside a few miles west of Sheffield, UK.While trying to pass another car at a high speed, he lost control of his Corvette C4, which hit a dry stone wall and entered a field; his left arm was severed. Doctors initially reattached the arm but later amputated because of infection. Despite losing his arm, Allen soon decided to continue playing drums with Def Leppard, and adopted a specially designed electronic drum kit. The band took a hiatus from onstage performances until 16 August 1986, when Allen was able to return to live drumming at the Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donington. He has since re-adopted partially acoustic drum kits depending on the setting. He's an inspiration to anyone who has had to come back from adversity and succeed.
I love seeing everyone's expression when they notice the drummer. His band mates loved him so much that they waited for him to recover and learn a whole new way to drum.
I still love the (maybe myth) story about his mates worrying about how to go on till he practiced-practiced-and-practiced till he called them in and performed the intro from "When The Levy Breaks' by Creedence Clearwater Revival and everyone was 'yeah, you do that, you're good'
He designed his own drum kit using more foot pedals. Truest example of love for a brother. They stopped performing until he could heal physically and create a drum kit.
So much good Def Leppard songs, Rock of Ages, Women, hysteria, love bites, Foolin', two steps behind, Let's Get Rocked, Have you ever needed someone so bad. . SOOOO many good rock songs from them. I am up late and tired, but excited that you guys saw this.. keep up the amazing work, and don't quit doing it.
this song was blasted all over the radio between 87-88 when it was released. Rick Allen actually uses an electronic drum kit for his playing and I've heard his drum solos are sick in concert.
I was in high school in the 80’s def leopard is my fav rock band , I remember the car accident in the news the day after it was awful. But the band did not drop him they supported him made it possible for him to continue with foot pedals helping him out . Great time to be in high school , great era for music , so glad you like them
Everything eventually comes back around. That's where the saying "everything old is new again" came from. Yes, the drummer was in a car crash and lost his arm. The band halted everything and waited for him to learn to drum with one arm when he recovered. You guys need to react to "Love Bites" & "Rock of Ages"!
“Everything comes back around.” Yep. Like ripped jeans. I see young ‘uns walking around with ripped jeans like they invented the style. Please. Those were around when I was in High School(I graduated in 1990).
Him and the band for waiting for him, are true inspiration. He uses his feet double time to make up for arm, special drum kit he designed. This song set standard for arena anthems, but they make beautiful ballads also. Awesome reaction guys.
Rick Allen lost his arm when he was 21. He had been with Def Leppard since he was 15. They DEFINITELY weren't gonna leave him behind when he lost his limb. They stayed with him and waited for him to heal. It's beautiful. He still suffers PTSD from the accident to this day, and says drumming is a meditational healing for him.
I've seen them 15 times. Joe sang pour into sugar on me at one of their concerts .I almost fainted, lol. I grew up with this music. When I had kids, I played them over and over. My son and daughter love them. I took my daughter to see them 5 years ago. It was freaking cool watching and listening to my baby girl sing every single song that they played. Drinking beer with her mother. Which in itself was weird. That is one of my favorite memories with my daughter. She still talks about it, 5 years later. They're my favorite rock band of all time.
Rick Allen played with 2 arms for thier first 3 albums then lost it in a acciendent, and within 5 months he relearned how to play using his left foot for his missing arm. He was also just a young kid when it happend, the band stuck it out and waited for him unlike most who would of replaced him. His first concert back was in front of 60 thousand home town fans and he rocked the shit out of the show and they showed the love. The standng ovartion will give you goose bumps. See Def Leppard Live Castle Donigton.
Read more on the drummer. He has quite a story and he lives in LA with his wife and on top of playing the drums he is an artist and sells his art to help support veterans.
Def Leppard is a rabbit hole! Every song is 🔥 you're gonna love 'em! - Photograph - Rock Of Ages - Bringing On The Heartache - Hysteria - Love Bites - Armageddon It - Foolin - Animal - Rocket
Now you know why Def Leppard fans are so devoted. The band stuck by their drummer after he lost his arm, and they came back BETTER AND STRONGER!! Going to see them again this summer CANNOT WAIT!!
When Rick lost his arm, the band never discussed replacing him or what they’d do. They just wanted him to be ok and figured if he had to leave the band it had to come from him. In the hospital Rick got motivated thinking of ways he could learn to drum with one arm. When he came back to the studio where leppard was recording he’d go into his own room every day and just practice and try to figure out what he could do. The band just supported him but deep down they of course figured they realistically it wouldn’t work even though none of them ever said it. One day he asked them all to come in and they watched as he completely did a song. The entire band was in tears by the end. Even today Rick Allen has done a bunch of work for Wounded Warrior encouraging amputees….
80s hair bands and alternative Brit bands were the best. I lived it, went to concerts and danced at the clubs wearing combat boots. Best time of my life.
They were already a big rock band when he lost his arm, but he didn't lose his friends. He had to reconfigure his drum set to use his feet for some things; essentially re-learning the drums. And yes, you are so right, and I've said it before many times, the only thing holding you back is you. Another example is Jeff Healy- See The Light.
@@ericnorthman9410 TC is my favorite actor. A lot of people don't like him because he's a scientologist and he's shat bit crazy but that's his personal life. I don't pay to see his private life. He does all his own stunts. He said he'd do that movie but all the songs had sung by the actors themselves. He might have his head shoved up his own ass, but it fits.
I AM IN THIS VIDEO!! YOU CAN"T SEE ME BUT I WAS THERE IN THE CROWD THE NIGHT THEY FILMED THIS VIDEO!!! It was there first concert after Rick Allen lost his arm. I also saw them when they went on their first tour. They opened for BIlly Squier. When Billy Squier took the stage the crowd chanted for more Def Leppard!!
Back in the 70s and 80s….when I was a teen and 20s guys with long hair, tight clothes, earrings and even makeup weren’t considered feminine…..they were totally sure of their masculinity, and trust me, those boys could steal your girl with just a wink. Sexy as hell and not afraid to be called pretty…..❤❤
I grew up listening to Def Leppard, and watching people react to them now is so satisfying to watch, especially when they see Rick Allen only has one arm.
Same!!! I saw Def Leppard in concert in 1993! I love watching people react to the music and yes especially when they realize he has one arm and the respect they have for him!
This was filmed in Denver, CO. 2 weeks later I saw this same show. Tesla opened and rocked it. This was theater in the round. The very best concert I ever went to.
He uses his left foot for the snare. They made an electronic drum kit that could be used as such. He has 5 different settijg for his hi hats and about 5 different pedals on the floor along with his kickdrum pedal for different types of sounds
80's rock is the greatest! I was born in 81 and wasn't quite old enough to appreciate just how insanely good it was at the time but now at the grand age of almost 41 I'm still listening to 80's hair bands 🤣 and so are my children and grandkids!!
In an industry which discards guitarists and drummers on the regular it’s refreshing to see such love and loyalty to each other. Rick Allen went on to thrive in the most competitive of markets. And now he is in the hall of fame. RESPECT!!!!
The second Time I saw DF Live was on 1998 (the first was on 1993) on the SLANG TOUR Rick Allen plays a acoustic drum...Joe Elliot introduced : "Now Ladies and Gentleman...best drummer of the world!!"
His pants, acid wash jeans. Everyone was wearing them. LOL They are one of the best bands from the 80’s. I’ve seen them 8 times in concerts in the 80’s. The Drummer Rick Allen was in a car accident New Years Eve 1984 and his left arm was severed off. The band stood with him, he was determined to drum again. Between electric drum pads and his own drum kit he put together. They stood with him and they came back stronger than ever!! They were also the first Rock band to do the round stage. Bringing on the Heartbreak photograph Rock of Ages Love Bites Hysteria Animal Armageddon it Too Late for Love
"Mad props to the entire band for pulling Rick Allen though the tough time, standing behind their band mate, instead of just replacing him. That kind of loyalty is super rare!!!!!"
Ahh, back when MTV was all about the music 🎶 and making/playing videos, this is how bands really got noticed and put on the map, Def Leppard, one of my favorite bands of the 80s!, they toured to just about anywhere in the US to promote this album, great bunch of guys sticking with their drummer, between 80-84, they were on hiatus because of some band mates issues, I believe they're still rocking out after 40 plus years together
The coolest thing about this band is the way that not only waited for him to recover but also to wait for him to figue out how to paly with one arm. That's the most incredible thing about this band. Other bands drop people for the dumbest reasons.
They hit fame then the next year the drummer lost his arm when he went through the sun roof of a Corvette. This band waited for him to recover and then they came up with a plan to modify his drum kit so that he could play with his other foot to make up for his lost arm. The band waited for him to relearn to play. Took about 3 years total time if I remember correctly. This band is amazing and they still tour today!!❤
Def Leppard is my favorite! I’ve seen them 8 times. 80’s music is the shit! High School days. I was in the Army in Germany when this album came out. But I wore out many cassettes of it! They have lots of great music. Dig into them a bit more… Pyromania album….Great job, keep it up!
Rick Allen (drums) of Def Leppard joined the band in 1978 when he was only 15 yrs old... they were a local band from Sheffield, England. His parents had to co-sign his record contract in 1979 cos he was only 16 when Def Leppard was signed to record their 1st album 'On through the night' in 1980... Def Leppard went from opening band to selling millions of copies of their 3rd album 'Pyromania' in 1983, just behind Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' album. Of the 5 members of Def Leppard, Rick Allen was the most accomplished musician. In late 1984, Rick Allen was in a car accident in England, and his left arm was severed when he was thrown from his vehicle... doctors re-attached the arm, but an infection forced them to amputate it. During his recuperation in a hospital in 1985, he made the decision to play drums again w/ 1 arm... Def Leppard, in a loyal act, refused to replace him. Rick Allen worked to design an electronic drum kit which would allow him to use both feet on pedals to compensate the beats for his missing arm. It took a year for Allen to re-learn playing the drums... In 1986, Def Leppard played a number of shows and he proved that he was just as capable of playing drums after the accident - he was nick named "Thunder god" 🤘🤘 Def Leppard finally completed their 4th album 'Hysteria' in 1987, and it became their biggest record. Rick Allen still plays drums for Def Leppard today, and there is video footage of him playing a drum solo.
I finally got to see these guys play in San Antonio TX. I always wanted to see Rick Allen play live. It was a blast watching him. Best drummer in my opinion
Def Leppard has been my favorite band since 1983. They have an amazing music library and they also have the only one armed drummer in the world. Rick Allen lost him arm on New Years Eve in 1984 in a car accident. Theres a movie about it. If youre interested, Its called "Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story". This was his first tour after recovering and learning how to play again. He learned how to play his left arm parts with hid left foot. I was in high school in the 80s and all the guys had long hair and everyone who was anyone dressed like that. Fun times. R.I.P Steve Clark.
🤘❤🤘 Loved your reactions. We were at that concert in February of 1988. It was performed at McNichols Arena (Big Mac) in Denver, Colorado. The arena was demolished in 2000. Such a great show with a rotating stage.
I have to add a couple more to those awesome ones you named, so....Let it Go(rocks pretty damn good)and Bringing on the Heartache! Those 2 are up there in my top 5!
One of my favorite bands back in the day. Saw them in concert a couple times back then. I am just glad you guys paid attention and noticed his arm missing. I don't know how many other reactions I have watched and they completely missed it. Good catch and great response. You are right, nobody can say "I can't" when you see inspirations like this drummer.
Rick learned to use his left foot to play mostly for his lost arm the band waited for him the drum set up by Rick to achieve that . There's live version out there rick and the whole band amazing m8
Drummer is using his foot to play as well.... he is an amazing guy, and his band mates hung in there with him after the accident. That is real love and respect.
The stage they're performing on rotates slowly clockwise, and Rick Allen, the drummer, is located in the center of the stage. The lead singer runs all around the stage so everyone can get his energy
You really need to dive head first in to the Def Leppard rabbit hole, so may amazing songs. Seen them live a few years back and they still sound exactly the same!! :)
@@mariamenegalli2321 lol I'm so glad you got to see them then:) I danced the whole time while I was in the stands and I bet the people behind me weren't too happy😂
I got grounded for a month sneaking out to go to this Def Leppard concert. Riding in my boyfriends I Roc Z Convertible - y'all know the one! It was 2 hours away & I was dumb enough to bring home a concert shirt with the dates & cities listed on back. Yeah, Mom found it in the laundry. 🤦🏼♀️ I'd do it all over again! Worth every minute!
Bruv, Def Leppard is one of my favorite bands of all time no 🧢... they have tons of classics for real. You can’t go wrong with whatever you listen to from them.
This album was their first with their drummer back with only one arm after an accident took his arm. He learned and developed a system to play with his feet to compensate for it.
As a Gen Xer this is my music era and I may be biased but we had some of the BEST music ever. Late 70s, 80s and early 90s. The hair band era had the biggest arena shows. Deb Leppard among many other bands are a cassette, album and CD staple in my car and house. Best music ever!💖💖💖
He lost it in a car accident he plays the snare with his foot he's got a bunch of pedals amazing they stuck with him no that's loyalty to a band member
I actually worked when did it shows in the round it's called around cuz it's right in the center stage it's around stage and for the band to get there they used to put them in linen baskets that are on wheels that's how they got to the states back and forth amazing shows
I don't remember all the details but he was in an accident and lost his arm then the band wanted him to stay so they got this sweet drum set that he learned to play one handed
drummer from Status Quo played a big part of Rick continuing on :) i believe he helped rRick and encouraged him , Rick modified his drums .at least im pretty sure
Written by Joe Elliott, the late Steve Clark, Phil Collen, Rick Savage and Mutt Lange. Produced by Mutt Lange. Singer Joe Elliott said Queen is a major influence. 1 We Will Rock You influenced this song. 2 Guitarist Steve Clark died in Jan 1991. Freddie Mercury in Nov same year. Surviving members of Queen invited surviving members of Def Leppard to play at the Freddie Tribute. Queen guitarist Brian May presented DL to the Rock + Roll Hall of Fame. You can say that this is also one of the big hits for producer and songwriter Mutt Lange. He worked with Huey Lewis, The Cars, Loverboy, Billy Ocean, AC/DC, Thomas Dolby and The Boomtown Rats and got hits from all of them! After Def Leppard, Mutt Lange has worked with Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood, Maroon 5, Nickelback, Bryan Adams and Shania Twain. Number 1 songs are from BA and ST. The 2nd chorus + outro of this song sounds almost the same as the bridge in Everything I Do I Do It for You sung by Bryan Adams. 🤔 No copyright violation: Mutt Lange is the cowriter of both songs! 🤯🤯 The sung verses of PSSOM sound similar to Jukebox Hero written by Lou Gramm + Mick Jones and Magic written by Ric Ocasek. Mutt is the producer of all 4 songs! 🤯🤯🤯 RIP Steve Clark, 20 years since his fall, which happened in Jan 1991. Suggested next video: Bryan Adams. Everything I Do I Do It for You. 🇨🇦
You are correct... Rick Allen (the drummer) is someone who shows that no matter what happens to you... you can succeed and perform at a high level... There isn't I can't in him... there is I CAN... and HE DOES... An incredible example for people to see... AWESOME
It doesn't get any more "rock and roll" then a musician pounding their drums with only 1 arm. Always amazes me. Fantastic courage Rick Allen. Nothing I can think of can ever top this except maybe a drummer with no arms and no legs. Of course his name would have to be Matt. Brother of Art, the guy hanging on the wall with no arms and legs, and sister of Eileen. The girl with 1 leg. "Hop in Eileen, let's go for a ride". Thank you, I'll be here all week, remember to tip your waitresses. Now coming to the stage, let's give it up for Bill Burr, Bill Burr ladies and gentleman."
You could not get away from this song or this video in 1988 I believe this song and video were number one video of the day for almost half of the year how big Def Leppard was coming off this album is just crazy. As a huge Def Leppard fan I think I’ve seen this video 200+ times easily probably way more
My father was a cocktail drummer of the 50's and 60's and he performed in nightclubs with various musicians. One of his piano players was in a school bus accident when he was a kid, so he grew up with one arm only. He played as well as any traditional 2 handed player.
Dude, I seen this tour in Pittsburgh, Pa back in 1988 n it was fkn AMAZING. Tesla {a band you MUST check out if you're getting into 80's rock} opened up. That night Tesla became my favorite band
Drummer used a kit that would give you two "pops" for one hit,(I've played them occasionally) if you hit them on the left, the electric drum pads were divided L/R...then he used his own great timing/creativity to figure how to do fills. I always respected the band for not letting him quit after he lost his arm...I think it happened between thier 2nd and 3rd Lp's.
Not only do I love this band because of their music, but I have great respect for them. When Rick Allen, the drummer lost his arm in a terrible car accident, they put the band on hold until he learned how to drum with one arm. Most bands would walk away and say, you're on your own. We've got to move on without you. Great reaction, and most reactors don't even notice that Rick only has one arm. Great job on your part!
I'm not the biggest Def Leppard fan, but I went to see them back in the 80s, and they put on a _HELLUVA_ show. The stage was in the middle (in the round) and it rotated as they played. Not a bad seat in the house. Also, your girl does seem camera shy. I think it's adorably cute.
I think we might be about to see you guys crawling down the old Def Leppard rabbit-hole... dig away, it's lot of fun with a lot of great songs. If you see Rick Allen wearing a shirt, it's after his accident where he lost his arm. If you see him without a shirt, you will notice that he has two arms. He was still a baby when he joined the group. I think that's why they were so hell-bent on sticking with him when he decided he wanted to keep playing. He joined the band when he was 15, their first album came out when he was 16, their third album came out when he was 19, and he lost his arm just after his 21st birthday. The 4th album, hysteria (which included pour some sugar on me) came out before he was 24. He relearned the drums with one arm, and his left foot playing his left arm parts, in a little over 2 years. He's amazing
Rick Allen, the drummer, was in an accident and lost his arm, but the band didnt want another drummer, so they waited for him to learn to play with one arm...brotherhood!!🎶🎵 They have so many hits, Rock Of Ages, Rocket and Foolin' are just a few you should check out🎶🎸
Def Leppard is a band that really beat the odds to become one of the biggest rock bands in history... Formed in Sheffield, England in 1977 by local teens, Joe Elliott (lead vocals) joined a band and suggested the name 'Deaf Leopard' which he came up for an imaginary band... the drummer Tony Kenning, at the time, suggested they change the spelling to Def Leppard... the others were Pete Willis (guitar), Rick 'Sav' Savage (bass) and Steve Clark (guitar)... Kenning quit in 1978 before Def Leppard's demo EP was recorded. Rick Allen (drums) joined at the age of 15. The band was signed in 1979, and their debut album 'On through the night' was released in 1980, but the British band found themselves more popular in North America than in the UK, especially after MTV promoted videos from their 2nd album "High n' dry" in 1981, an album produced by Robert John 'Mutt' Lange, who had worked w/ AC/DC... Lange produced their 3rd album 'Pyromania', but alcohol abuse forced guitarist Pete Willis out of Def Leppard in 1982... Phil Collen (guitar) joined and completed the album. In 1983, 'Pyromania' would sell 10 million copies just behind Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. In 1984, work had begun on the next Def Leppard album, but a tragedy soon derailed their career... drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident late that year. Sessions for the next album were slow, while Allen designed a custom electronic drum kit & learned to play w/ both feet and 1 arm. Def Leppard did their first shows in 1986 after Rick Allen's accident. Finally in 1987, Def Leppard's 'Hysteria' album was released and finally hit the UK charts at #1. In the US, Def Leppard was selling slowly, until the summer of 1988 when 'Pour some sugar on me' became a huge hit for the band., and 'Hysteria' soon outsold MJ's 'Bad' album. After the tour in 1989, guitarist Steve Clark was drinking so heavily that Def Leppard was concerned he was killing himself. In 1990, the band was recording a new album, but Clark's alcoholism was stalling sessions. They acted loyally and gave him 6 months time off and called off the sessions... but it didn't help ultimately. Steve Clark was found dead in early 1991 in his home, from a toxic mix of alcohol & drugs. Def Leppard completed the recording sessions w/ guitarist Phil Collen playing all of Steve Clark's guitar parts... the album 'Adrenalize' was released in 1992, and guitarist Vivian Campbell joined Def Leppard. A collection of unreleased songs 'Retro active' was released in 1993. Unfortunately, the 90's decade was hostile to Def Leppard's brand of 80's rock, and their 1996 album 'Slang' was a modest success compared to past records, w/ the band incorporating more pop music into their sound. 'Euphoria' in 1999 brought back their rock sound and did better, and the 'X' album in 2002 was in pop music territory again... However, Def Leppard's past hits were revisited in 2005 w/ a 'best of' compilation 'Rock of ages' and the band was drawing huge numbers in concert once again. A covers album 'Yeah!' in 2005 was followed by the album 'Songs from the Sparkle Lounge' in 2008. Taylor Swift performed w/ Def Leppard on CMT's 'Crossroads' program, performing both their hits together. Def Leppard and their Universal Music label parted ways in a dispute over their catalog - they released a live record 'Mirrorball' in 2011 and returned in 2015 w/ a self-titled album. In 2013, guitarist Vivian Campbell had to undergo cancer treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma... he had to be substituted for tours around that time while he recovered. Def Leppard settled their dispute w/ Universal and have kept busy touring, and are reportedly working on new music.
Rick Allen plays the left arm parts with his left leg. Still impressive he in my opinion is the Goat of drummers. You're right no one can ever say I can't do something. Because if Rick can play the drums at a high level with one arm. Than other ppl can do whatever they're saying that they can't do. they just don't want to.
Everyone loves Def Leppard. High energy rock. The band took the time to let the drummer heal, stood by him and figured a way to make it work for him. Good stuff. Check out a lot of the songs everyone is mentioning
Love Def Leppard. Dude, she's right. Everything that was worn in the 80s has come back around again. Those blue jeans that he was wearing were absolutely the style. Everyone was wearing those. And if acid wash jeans come back in style again everyone is going to be wearing them too.
The 80's ,new technology was kicking off with electronic drum sets ,they allowed you to delay or speed up the tempo on each beat ,but it was awesome that the rest of the members waited for their best friend to figure out how to drum with one arm ,there is a movie about that you can check out!..80's were just good Ole fun partying times ,the music was about having fun! Great reaction you two ,enjoy those 80's hits!..👍👍
The drummer was the original drummer for the band, then he had an accident and lost his arm, so he had a drumset custom made so that pedals etc. make sounds like another arm. But it's definitely a custom made set. He came back to the band for the Hysteria album and tour, which this video shows parts of. Incredible story. Google "drummer for Def Leppard"
I was a junior in high school when Rick lost his arm over the holidays. It took some time but he learned how to play the drums with one arm and his feet. This album Hysteria was the first album released after the accident and it was a HUGE success.
Their drummer lost his arm in a car accident. Kudos to the band for not dropping their brother and sticking with them. Def Leppard are top blokes!
Yes, it's quite an amazing story, sad and triumphant. And your right, a lot of bands would have been done with him musically after that
I will always respect and admire Def Lep's dedication and support for Rick after his accident and how they could have easily had just bailed on him but they didn't,
Instead they stood by him, helped him recover and cope with what had happened then worked out various clever technical ways in which he could continue to drum and be their guy. Definitely a solid display of love for their brother.... love it.
While he was in the hospital Joe went straight to the studio and began building his drum kit, there was never a discussion that he wasn't going to the their drummer,
Too 5 hard Rock band of all time and my favorite too 💯❤️ them putting respect on that Union Jack 🇬🇧 🤘
Facts.
I love this song so much. And his amazing drum play always makes me a little emotional. You can’t ignore how he was able to play like he has two hands. Wow blown away still.
My opinion....worst song on album
❤
Its was snake path in-between Bradford and Rochdale

@@Calinicus72 I know that's right 👍🏻
I graduated in '87
I'm someone who never really cared what's in style, I like being the oddball. Following the crowd is lame 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
I'm seeing little kids in bell bottom pants.. I am definitely ready for that to go back out of style...

ROCK OF AGES is my all time favourite song by Def Leppard.
I thought the movie was great to
Def Leppard said Tom did the song better than them..

TC is my favorite actor. A lot of people don't like him because he's a scientologist and he's shat bit crazy but that's his personal life. I don't pay to see his private life. He does all his own stunts. He said he'd do that movie but all the songs had sung by the actors themselves. He might have his head shoved up his own ass, but it fits.
I've been listening rock and roll since I was three years old 60s 70s 80s and 90s rock and roll
I still like dudes with long hair! and the pants *sigh* ☺️
Not that they were scared of a fight either lol
@@ElectroT0y I am hoping that my 12 year old son wants to become a singer he has the most fantastic long hair.
Lol because they became rockstars to sleep with women lol
You can never go wrong with Def Leppard, they have so many great songs out there.
"I can't" should never come outa your mouth" - words to live by.
They stopped performing until he could figure it out. What class.
In an industry which discards guitarists and drummers on the regular it’s refreshing to see such love and loyalty to each other.
Rick Allen went on to thrive in the most competitive of markets. And now he is in the hall of fame. RESPECT!!!!
Def Leppard Live is Beyond Epic!!! 🤘
1 of my top 3 favorite songs of all time!!!
LOL
They are one of the best bands from the 80’s.

I love Def Lepard still have some of their albums. I did get to see them in concert once and I will never forget it.
I saw Def Leppard in concert. They were amazing! Watching Rick Allen play the drums was the highlight for me! Dudes are totally fun to watch. 💙
In 1986, Def Leppard played a number of shows and he proved that he was just as capable of playing drums after the accident - he was nick named "Thunder god" 🤘🤘
Def Leppard finally completed their 4th album 'Hysteria' in 1987, and it became their biggest record.
It is well worth watching a video about Rick Allen's drum kit and how he plays different drum sounds with his feet and hand. He is an amazing drummer.
🤘❤🤘 Loved your reactions. We were at that concert in February of 1988. It was performed at McNichols Arena (Big Mac) in Denver, Colorado. The arena was demolished in 2000. Such a great show with a rotating stage.
Y’all should check out Photograph by them & also Rock of Ages, Foolin’, Action & Billy’s Got a Gun👌🏼 some of my faves 🔥😁 thanks for reacting to them!
I have to add a couple more to those awesome ones you named, so....Let it Go(rocks pretty damn good)and Bringing on the Heartache! Those 2 are up there in my top 5!
Was just starting high school during the start of this great music genre. 80's rock n metal ruled and is still alive n kickin!
My ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND!!! 😍😍😍Greatest comeback story ever!!
That is real love and respect.
yes guys this is love the drummer lost the arm in a acident and the band the brothers talk, we with you ever u make this with one arm
The stage they're performing on rotates slowly clockwise, and Rick Allen, the drummer, is located in the center of the stage. The lead singer runs all around the stage so everyone can get his energy
Yeah he learned beats with his feet in the hospital bed and how to play with one arm. Its a special drum kit he made he plays with bare feet and 1 arm
You really need to dive head first in to the Def Leppard rabbit hole, so may amazing songs. Seen them live a few years back and they still sound exactly the same!! :)
I saw them live 5 years ago and it was such a blast! I grew up listening to them.
@@tawnyjay2258 it was on my bucket list and I cried throughout Thier whole set LOL
@@mariamenegalli2321 lol I'm so glad you got to see them then:) I danced the whole time while I was in the stands and I bet the people behind me weren't too happy😂
The whole Hysteria album that this song is off of is fire. My favorite band of all time!
His name is Rick Allen. The drummer. You guys are going to love Def Leppard. Definitely react to more please. Timeless.
Thank you for finally reacting to the greatest band of all time..well in my eyes.
Bruv, Def Leppard is one of my favorite bands of all time no 🧢... they have tons of classics for real. You can’t go wrong with whatever you listen to from them.
He actually was one of the innovators of drum triggers with using your feet what he's doing with his feet is nothing short of amazing
One of my favorite concerts, yes Rick Allen put on a crazy solo!!!
He has a foot petal that is hooked to his snare to stay in time with his existing arm.Simply amazing
RIP Steve Clark, 20 years since his fall, which happened in Jan 1991.
Suggested next video: Bryan Adams. Everything I Do I Do It for You. 🇨🇦
Seen them twice back in the day. One of the BEST bands to see LIVE ever. Like a big party.
Def Leppard is my FAVE 80s big hair rock band! Google the drummer’s story. I was the same way when I first saw the video back in the day.
Dude, I seen this tour in Pittsburgh, Pa back in 1988 n it was fkn AMAZING. Tesla {a band you MUST check out if you're getting into 80's rock} opened up. That night Tesla became my favorite band
Photograph, Animal, Foolin...Def Leppard have tons of hits
He uses his left foot as his left arm to hit the drums. The guy is amazing. They put on a really good performance. I saw them in 2017.
For great music’s the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and the 90’s are the best music ever!
Love seeing peoples reaction the first time they notice Rick
Drummer used a kit that would give you two "pops" for one hit,(I've played them occasionally) if you hit them on the left, the electric drum pads were divided L/R...then he used his own great timing/creativity to figure how to do fills. I always respected the band for not letting him quit after he lost his arm...I think it happened between thier 2nd and 3rd Lp's.
8:47 Where were you in 1992 when I needed that kind of encouragement? Truer words were rarely spoken, sir.
When he lost his arm the band stopped playing til he could learn to play with one !!! And he did!! What loyalty!! Great Band!!
80’s rock is the best, PLEASE do Living on a prayer by Bon Jovi
Speaking of awesome hair bands of the 80s... yes, this!
This song back in 1988 along with the album and the band took over the world!
Rick Allen, the drummer, was in an accident and lost his arm, but the band didnt want another drummer, so they waited for him to learn to play with one arm...brotherhood!!🎶🎵 They have so many hits, Rock Of Ages, Rocket and Foolin' are just a few you should check out🎶🎸
To this day I say "Hysteria" is one of the greatest rock n roll albums ever!
This was the stripper anthem of the 80's. Lots of great songs!
The 80's ,new technology was kicking off with electronic drum sets ,they allowed you to
delay or speed up the tempo on each beat ,but it was awesome that the rest of the members
waited for their best friend to figure out how to drum with one arm ,there is a movie about
that you can check out!..80's were just good Ole fun partying times ,the music was about having
fun!
One of the best concerts I ever saw. This song is the Strippers anthem😅Rick Allen learned to use his feet, he is that good.
I was a junior in high school when Rick lost his arm over the holidays. It took some time but he learned how to play the drums with one arm and his feet. This album Hysteria was the first album released after the accident and it was a HUGE success.
I remember it like it was yesterday ❤️
