The issue with PS5 Pro is that it is being sold to us based on mostly the same buzz words used when PS5 was first unveiled. It is a patronising product to pitch when the base PS5 was promised to be the machine that harmonised fidelity graphics and 60fps. Now all of a sudden PS5 is “choppy”? This generation has been full of false promises. Where are the new games Sony?!?!
I honestly felt robbed and ripped off when I got my ps5. The box and marketing said "4k 120fps" and even 8k but when I turned it on and put on spiderman miles morales I got met with 30fps😂
It's $959 canadian tire money. To put that in perspective, my rent is $1050. So after the disc drive and stand, it's literally more than my rent. This is literally a luxury product for people with too much money.
Your rent is really cheap, though. 1K canadian is under $800/month, that's a rare apartment that's that affordable here in the US. It's not so much that the console is expensive, it's just that the Canadian dollar is not strong and your rent is low. The lack of disc drive is utterlly ridisculous, though.
Start thrifting and buying sales for software, for hardware you have to buy full price because I don’t think there will be price cuts unless they don’t sell like the PSVR 2
I mostly agree. I see two SKUs at launch, the lesser model being $599 and the superior one being $699. And then the ‘a la carte’ add-ons that Sony used to include will push those up another $100-$200 on average. They’re supercocky again. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if they know that Microsoft will be bowing out of the console wars after this gen (and only does Gamepass on all sorts of devices).
Not sure about that, but they're able to charge so much because they don't currently have a direct mid-gen competitor to the PS5 Pro. People should be patient and let the market take care of it. Look what happened with PSVR2. It didn't meet expectations so they drastically slashed prices and sold out. If we're patient the same will happen with the PS5 Pro, especially when Xbox and Nintendo undercuts them.
I don't think it'll be $800/$900 but yeah otherwise that's what I think they're doing, martyr this low volume product that was never going sell a huge amount of units so everyone gets their shock and anger out now so a ps6 for $600/$700 doesn't seem that bad anymore. (Also to get the no included disc drive annoyance out the way as I expect that to be only sold seperately for the ps6 and then not an option at all for the ps7.)
I’m 100% one of those PS5 holdouts you mentioned around 5:30. I’m still on PS4 Pro and was really looking forward to this upgrade (alongside needing a 4K Blu Ray player). But at that price point, I feel better off just overhauling my PC.
I am pretty much on the same boat. I did get an Xbox series X, because I was never able to get my hands on a 5 for the first year. I was looking forward to the pro since I really liked the PS4 pro. Now I’m probably just going to get the regular 5 around Black Friday sales.
It doesn't matter what they do. Sony could release the ps5 pro and say that the only difference is the name. Certain people will still buy it just to have the newest model
When Dunkey was making fun of the PS5 not being a jump from PS4 at all I was like "yeah but 60fps is 60fps" and kept defending the console. Now they literally have to zoom in to show you barely any difference and the price is absolutely insane
Here in South Africa, the PlayStation 5 disc version is priced at 15,000 rand, which is approximately 838.67 US dollars. This version comes with one controller. I'm anticipating that the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro will see a significant price increase, likely reaching or exceeding 20,000 rand, which is around 1,117.90 US dollars. I still don't own one because the price is nuts, and honestly, there are more important things like the cost of just living.
20k that's like almost the average monthly salary in SA. That's before even paying for food or rent so you'll have to save up like at least 5 or 6 months just to be able to afford the thing. Even worse if you use the median salary in SA instead of the average. The median is 5k a month.
@@MrObie186 That's so true, but I won't be saving up for the PS5. I'll wait for the PS7 and then grab the PS5 when it's on an 'everything must go' sale-haha! But honestly, a PC seems like the better way to go in the long run. I don't even want to imagine what kind of nonsense they'll try to pull next with the future consoles.
Paying 700$ for a mid-gen console with less features than the og console is the worst idea I have ever seen. I'll just stick with my original PS5. Did Sony forget what happened with their PS3 launch? This is even much worse.
I mean, for all it's issues regarding pricing, the original PS3 did have loads of bells and whistles, this new PS5 is really only better graphically, and games look so good in general that it seems somewhat redundant. If you're buying a console anyway, you're probably not interested in 'the best' graphics.
Agreed. I finally was able to upgrade the SSD on my PS5 at the beginning of the year and it felt like a brand new console so whenever there was buzz about the Pro being announced, it never really moved me
Cutting edge tech has reached a price point that will alienate an average gamer’s wallet. Even base model PS5 is expensive to an average consumer, and they just jacked up prices in Japan. The base PS5 is already “pro” enough.
Im an OG gamer and a Sony fanboy I been there at the start with the ps1 And im here to tell you. I am not dishing out $700 for a disk drive less system. Sony is making the same bullshit moves they did with the PS3. Sony’s second L of the year.
This. It should have included a disc drive, the stand and the pro controller. Then the £700, while insane, would be more justifiable. The stand cost sony like £1 at most. The controller only a few £. Disc drive like £15. So it wouldn't really have much impact on shipping price.
I just got my son a PS5 THIS year. It still doesn’t feel like this console generation has really gotten going. When the older consoles came out (ps3/4 Xbox 360/one) the older consoles got support for like a year maybe a little longer in some cases but we’re still getting last gen console releases which is really starting to hold back games.
This is a bad take. PS5 is not that powerful in comparison to current PC builds. Multiplatform games are already running with significantly lowered settings on console. It might have taken long to get going because of long dev cycles but tech doesn't stand still and zen2 it's already pretty old at this point
@@Root_boy nah mate this is a bad take the "new" consoles have more power under the hood than most pcs considering that most people don't have newer hardware like tons of people still use 4 cores cpus and 1000 series gpus or older cards it's only recently that the 2000 series became more common and surpassed the 1660

@@sonodietrodithe4iltuoincub848 You're missing the point though. Games are not held back by PS4, like op is saying. We know this because modern games already have much higher potential settings than PS5 can handle. The specs of your, or even the average PC have no bearing on this reality.
I’m totally the target demographic for this console, I was 100% on board, stoked for the announcement, and then I crashed when I saw the price. $699, no drive? No go, I can’t justify it.
@@Blindsyde5762 They actively are watching videos on UA-cam about it a day after the announcement and leaving comments. They are very clearly the target audience.
I love that I clicked on this video to watch you talk about the PS5 Pro but instead got a movie review for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and loved seeing that!! I had fun with it, and it's the best Tim Burton has been in years, but it's definitely not quite on the level of the original. Catherine O'Hara is incredible, and channeled Moira Rose from Schitts Creek for this performance haha! Keaton rocked it, but that musical performance towards the end was just strange to me. Games are awesome, but film is incredibly powerful just the same. 😄
Its absolutely ridiculous £700 in the uk plus the cost of a disc drive a second controller thats also gone up in price with 0 upgrade to the controller its a big no for me
Feel the exact same way. £700 is OVER $900, for what?! I've held off getting a PS5, waiting for the pro to finally jump on the exclusives. At this point, I'll wait another 2yrs and spend that money upgrading my PC instead 😂
Your bonus at the end about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was actually the highlight of the video for me. My ex-partner was also a hardcore Beetlejuice fan and we had watched it together (my first time). Your analysis helps me see more how the Family dynamic played a big part for why he loved the film so much. I think I might actually give the second film a try now.
I love the hair today Jake. No disc drive is just an absolute killer for me personally. Even at $700 I would be interested in updating but am a diehard supporter of physical media.
Sony are out of their minds. My decent gaming PC cost $680 and I've only had to put an extra $60 into it to make it run most modern games. There is no way I would spend $700 on a PlayStation.
This isn't for current ps5 players, This for people who haven't upgraded yet. Covid turned off a lot of people from buying the ps5. It's like iphone logic, there's no reason for getting the iPhone 16 when you have a perfect iPhone 15, yet people still do it. Same logic here.
I bought a steam deck OLED early this year. Found it is "PCness" so refreshing that I built a 4090 PC and life is better now. Console gaming is in the era of diminishing returns. For $1200, you can build a PC that not only dwarfs this system, but likely next gen too. The PS5 pro is so niech, just wait for a PS6 that's likely due in 3-4 years. Edit: there's a lot of disagreement (shocking, I know) whether or not you could match those specs, so for fun, screwing around on newegg's PC builder, based on what some people feel are equivalent hardware, it would be doable, with double memory and unshared, minus Windows, at a cost of $1500 Canadian, which is about $1200 American. That's with not two shabby of a cpu and GPU, but a little skimpy on other parts. You'd probably want to spend more like $1400 USD. Sounds like a lot, but don't forget, a ps5 is never to be upgraded, a PC is up to you.
@@DeadPiixxel thanks. Im very fortunate. With the Intel 13&14 gen stability issues, less fortunate. They have high failures rates, but other than that it's been amazing. I'll only use my consoles for exclusives that take 1+ years to make it PC.
This is what I’m thinking now too. I’ve been a PS guy since the PS1 days and quite loyal to this brand but it’s getting ridiculous now. Console gaming was always the cheap alternative to PC gaming. I don’t think that’s even true anymore. I’m not technically inclined when it comes to PC’s but I’m going to learn and put together something that will last me 10 years.
The thing that bothers me the most is the "Apple mindset". Companies have figured out how to nickel and dime us to death and it sucks. I hate the whole "detachable hard drive" idea. For 2 reasons. 1. As a physical media advocate, I hate that it's removable and has to connect to the internet if installed. 2. And my biggest reason I hate it is I feel this will be a continuous trend for Sony. Want to play physical games? Spend more money and you'll be able to. That SUCKS. Also, I fill there was a missed opportunity for the ps5 pro to be a grey "throwback" model to represent the ps1 for the 30th anniversary and for them to say "you can now play select ps1/ps2/ ps3 games on it with a disc. I'd pay $700 for that. But this? Nah.
Leaving the stupid price out for a sec. Any console without a physical option should be dismissed imo. We get closer and closer for corporations being able to willingly take or bar access to our "owned" game whenever. They've done it a few times already, but I want to physically own my games. Also for censorship people too, look no further than what happened with Stellar Blade early on. Disk had 1.0, digital forced you to update censoring the game. If anyone cares about owning what you buy and censorship you'd be in favor of physicals being non-negotiable for all consoles.
Who wants physical media when there are games like Cyberpunk 2077 on day one without patch, that game were horrible. Still have it though. Maybe i can flip it on 40 years and get my money back
In a time where consumers are pushing back against name brand grocery items, Sony pulls a tone deaf move like this? $700 to play marginally nicer looking versions of last gen games? it makes no sense at all . Even if you have the money, its a waste.
There is this thing called inflation. Pay 500 or 700 for an upgraded console with 2 tb I am getting it so i can get more use of my OLED bravia. I cant complain when i upgraded my GPU to a 4080 for 1200 less than a year ago.
The answer is no. I have to pay $10 for a last-generation game to upgrade to PS5 capabilities, and I even pay for all PS4 games that support that. What about games that remain the same when I play them on my PS5? There is no other way to fully utilize the PS5 when the game developer did not patch or update their game for the PS5. So a PS5 Pro is a big no for me.
@@proggz39It’s not that gamers have issue with paying for a console; it’s that the prices for everything these days are not user- and consumer-friendly. Inflation and rising costs of living have made some people feel like the PS5 Pro’s price tag is laughable. It doesn’t really affect me, though, because there’s no way in hell I could even afford to get one. I’ve never purchased a mid-gen console, and it certainly doesn’t look like that’ll be changing now.
Between the constant ‘culture wars’ over games and game characters, the fact that this generation feels like it’s never really moved past the last generation, live service fiasco after live service fiasco, and the ever-increasing cost of the hobby makes this the shittiest generation I can remember. And I go back, kids. Like, 2600 back.
The last true good gen was ps3/360 The ps4 era wasnt as good cause xbox kinda gave up and stopped making new games to compete other than that we had some good progress
$600 would have been ok, $700 it would need to have the drive. The stand is should be in there regardless for buying the "PRO" version you should get the stand in free.
I was waiting for the Pro to come out before purchasing a ps5. And then the presentation did a fantastic job showing how little I need the upgrade. I'm still pretty happy with my ps4. Maybe I'll check out the steamdeck instead.
Look, as someone who doesn't own a PS5 yet, this definitely looks like the right choice for jumping-in for the best possible gameplay experience, HOWEVER, charging $700 for a console WITHOUT a "disc drive" (I have many PS4 discs I want to play again using backwards compatibility), it is a very hard sell or recommendation at launch date.
The ps portal sold like crazy at first because tons of casually thought it was an independent gaming system... until they fired it up for the first time. I had ALOT of friends who thought it was the return of the psp. I tried to warn them but they didn't listen.
@mikeuk666 that may be true but the marketing still confused a lot of people. It was all in the comments on Instagram of people saying "finally the psp is back" and comment of the like.
I don't think the $700 is the big issue. I think the issue is that Sony is slowly charging its consumers more money for things that we shouldn't get charged for. It used to be just about video games but now it's about the stake holders. We used to get a $400 PlayStation and that was it. Now it's a psn $70 Online membership, $70 controllers, $70 unfinished videogames with multiple DLCs that costs $40 each, $700 PlayStations with no stand or disc. Like what's next? You're gonna charge me to rent my controllers???
• No Disk drive. • Charging extra for a stand... (practically a personal insult towards the consumer) • A serious lack of PS5 exclusive games that actually push the hardware hard enough to need a Pro. • The price is $100 higher than what I would veiw as an acceptable upgrade price for a console. • Still no full back compat for PlayStation titles going all the way back to PS1, even though this hardware 100% has the power to run emulators. This whole thing seems like the PS5 Pro was the result of the game Devs/Production company executives that currently have Sony's ear demanding more proformance from the hardware so they don't have to do as much optimization for their games (which takes time and costs money) in order to effectively pushing the cost of making proformant games onto the consumer while maintaining the flashy visuals used to sell their games. I've been a PlayStation customer since the first PlayStation came out in the 90s, but I have to say, I'm not gonna buy this console. I just don't see a reason to trade in the PS5 and pay the extra $280 it would cost me to replace it with the PS5 Pro. The PS5 still seems like it has life in it and untapped power just waiting for Devs to utilize. That UE5 demo on the PS5 is still fresh in my mind, and I have yet to see very many games that actually look as good as that demo did and I don't see the PS5 Pro running that demo any better, beyond just having a higher frame rate. If a game isn't running well on the PS5, to me, that sounds like a Dev effort problem and not a hardware problem. We just don't need a PS5 Pro right now.
I still cant tell the differences in the pictures and videos they provided, they looks exactly the same to me lol Plus, its over $1000 after taxes in Canada.
Well you won’t see much difference graphically. The point of the pro is to have ps5 fidelity but at 60 fps. Me personally I don’t mind 30 fps just as long as it’s fun and to me I enjoy it.
people are better off just buying regular ps5 since it comes with the stand and there is almost no difference. weird but games look sharper in performance mode, in graphics mode it looks like theres a heavy filter or artifacts on the screen at graphics mode. i assume thats the upscaling people talk about in videos. so if the game is upscaling 4k i wonder what that means, is it not true 4k? i dont know to me it seems performance mode has a cleaner image and yes my tv is 4k itst a sony bravia x80k. its not the tv out there but its not a low end either.
@@FreeAimDogyes the ps5 suffers from a few things. low base resolution prior to upscaling, so are down around 720-1080 and then a poor upscaler so graphics quality when compared to native is poor.and then lastly 30fps in quality mode on 3rd party at circa up scaled to 1800ish.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was so charming tbh Some parts felt rushed, specially Ortega’s arc. also, Davis and Baldwin not being there felt so wrong… so by the end, it left me with a bittersweet feeling, it ignores quite a bit from the first movie, but just like you said, you could tell everyone behind it actually gave a sh*t, and I respect that.
Its just genuinely a scam please everyone just like concord we need to speak with our wallets its literally the only language they respond to, do not buy this $700 scam
Just a thought, but I feel like this could potentially end up a lot like buying sneakers. Resellers drove prices up on a lot of products and people still bought them, which justified sneaker companies raising prices. When ps5 first released and was being scalped, people still paid for them so I guess Sony saw that and was just like "Well, if they'll pay scalpers that much...why not raise the price and have them pay us that money?"
They keep saying its this % faster this % bigger but refuses to release actual specs. Its almost like they are lying and they dont have anything to show for the price
To be fair they probably know most people won’t even understand what a teraflop or clock speed means. In todays society you have to simplify everything down so noobs can understand it
A very, very minor upgrade for double the price of the PS5 discless & discless? A Pro version with less? In a closed system where you can't play your discs or PS3 games. I've finally made up my mind and building a PC where games are cheaper and online is free, DONE!
The original Beetlejuice... well it was my childhood, in part. I loved it and still do. This sequel, I honestly don't think I should risk it for what it could do to the memory.
I haven't heard anything completely negative about it but I would pass if you're worried about that I do the same thing with certain old shows I just don't go back and watch them because I remember how great they were and it's not like people are saying oh this shows is not really good as you remember I just don't wanna ruin those memories
I think it’s pretty weird to live in a time where we either have: 1. The game’s coming out on __/__/__. Oh, sorry - it’s delayed. Sorry, delayed again!, and 2. By the way, the game’s out now! Surprise [insert shadow-release game] is now live, everyone!
The annoying thing is whenever you tell someone to just build a pc they automatically go to the high end spectrum and say how expensive it is. Dawg you play Fortnite and 2K you don’t need a 4090 😭. You can get a solid pc for a couple hundred more than the ps5 pro and you’ll be able to do way more with it and make money from it. If console companies wanna do this, leave them behind.
As an Xbox player watching Microsoft kill my favorite platform, seeing Sony fumble Concord and then following with this makes me wonder what the hell were they thinking. MS handed both last and current gen in a silver platter, but Sony insists on making mistakes. By the way, the PS5 Pro is this expensive because there's simply no competition anymore. They're so far ahead that they believe they can afford to pull stunts like this without consequences. I think the Pro will end up being a very niche product, like the PSVR2. Only enthusiasts will go for it.
Microsoft have changed tactics, they do not care about winning, they care about xbox games in the hands of the competition and still make bank without the angst, stress, deadlines and failure on hardware. Smart move. Btw, i also own Xbox besides PS and other
@elementsofnatureambientnat8311 if they manage to preserve our libraries on whatever platform it may be (which they won't, it's not possible unless there's built-in emulators), it's fine. If they kill their hardware division, we're losing our libraries unless we keep old Xboxes around, which is less than ideal because it would mean they would make games not available on their own consoles.
I agree. Yet from what I'm hearing is this console AND the disc drive is selling out. By scalpers or Sony bois. But how long can you play PS4 games, Spider-Man, tarkov. Doesn't it get boring. And as for GTA 6 it'll be a tiered release, the lowest tier at $120 and the highest at $200. And 30FPS, with PSN requirement
Is this a joke? Xbox did lose last gen, but in no way has lost this gen, the Xbox is the superior console, the superior subscription which can also double on your PC, superior controllers like always, AND it has the budget minded Series S console which along with Gamepass is the single best value casual gaming option on the market. Not only that, they bring their exclusives to PC, AND Sony has also been bringing their exclusives to PC. So, by far the best option for ANY gamer is to have a gaming PC, second best is gaming PC plus Xbox, third best is just an Xbox Series X. There's a reason my PS5 hasn't even been turned on since LAST YEAR and is collecting dust
If you really want to hemorrhage cash, get into PC gaming. Few people cry more than PC gamers, but they can't help but to cough up dough every year for some "modest" improvement in performance and / or graphics.
Just get a gaming laptop from Best Buy. I’m a PS5 gamer but I bought my Zephyrus G14 a year ago and its been awesome. Its light, portable, and really powerful for its size
@christopherross8976 That's a $1600 laptop with a 4060, and it's throttled. I'm not saying it's not a nice laptop, but to say it's a massive upgrade over the PS5 Pro or a bargain is a stretch.

The disk drive is already selling out everywhere. Amazon, Target and nest best buy are already sold out. People like to cry on the internet....but they're still going to buy it
I bought my PS4 pro at launch along with a 4k 60hz gaming monitor (new) for less than the PS5 pro. The pS4 pro with a 4k monitor really felt like a big step up for me. The PS5 pro just feels like a purely luxurious and unnecessary console... i was interested but now i will definitely be sticking with my PS4 pro.
$700 is a lot, but everything is expensive now. Has anyone gone to the grocery store, shopped for houses, shopped for cars? The cost of everything has gone up. GPUs have also become very expensive. Unfortunately, most of our paychecks have not kept up with the prices going up…
To be honest with the PS5 Pro, sadly it will still sell out and make Sony a boat-load of money regardless of the backlash which will incentivize them even more to sell their consoles at consumer-hostile prices while removing basic features that one would expect. I mean half of my games are physical ones so no disc drive is a major bummer. I myself honestly will begrudgingly be one of the dummies to get the Pro with the disc drive add-on because then I know games that I have would then be able to play at their best that Sony can offer. But given the landscape and direction consoles are going the PS5 Pro is definitely going to be my last console. But after seeing that insane price for a console? I'm jumping ship over to PC.
Saying it's barely better isn't accurate. It's 1.6x the power of the PS5. That's not a little bit or barely. Plus PSSR is gonna help, frame generation is a wonderful feature. I use FSR on my AMD build. Is it worth $700? No, not at all.
I think I still want to get it , I hate having to choose between quality and performance mode as I want both benefits I know it won’t be for all games but it will still benefit games in performance mode that can’t reach 60fps Ofc the price sucks I do agree but I think I want to still buy it :)
700$ netflix machine with a dvd player sold separately?? Ill just stick with my ps5 disk edition, if i feel the need for 4k/raytracing ill hop on my pc.
700 bucks is still a nail to the coffin, even if the pro actually had exclusives, a stand, a dick drive, and controllers that actually last "batter and no drift" oh and actuall good monthly games
Sony coming off as really greedy atm. Just watched a video about how they essentially build their controllers to need replacing more often so that they can squeeze more money out of customers
Yeah they used hall sensor analog sticks up until the PS3 or PS4 era and now they use another cheaper inferior technology analog which explains all the stick drift issues. I got PS3 controllers that are 16 years old that work perfect but yet in the 4 years I’ve had a PS5 I’ve sent back 4 Duelsense controllers with stick drift. Sony know this issue exists but refuse to fix it with better components. Instead they would rather sell you new controllers, and replacement analog sticks. One big scam
@@Neo_Rain146 PS4 controllers used the same stick just like PS5, Sony have contract with biggest sticks manufacturer whom everyone in console market uses but you have only problem with PS controllers

A big box of backwards compatibility and an included disc drive, maybe then the Pro would be a good pickup. Game delays being huge news breaking stuff I also think is pretty ridiculous. The only time I’m bummed is if a game is slotted for a holiday time that kinda seems like it’d be perfect to play during that time, otherwise a delay is totally fine by me.
The PS3 came with a PS2 inside it and a blu ray player when those things were super expensive. That chunk boy justified its price. This PS5 Pro is highway robbery.
The PS3 besides being a console that was backwards compatible, it was also a media hub. Could play BR and many video formats. I used mine for years just for that.
While I get that gaming continues to become more & more mainstream & gaming companies have a lot of people to pay I will never understand why some games start at 60.00 dollars or in this case the PS5 Pro is 700 dollars.
Because $60 isn't a lot? It's been proven/mentioned time and time and time again, adjusting for inflation new games have never actually been any cheaper to buy. So I guess you don't understand inflation, look it up.
@@cenciende9401 As I somewhat said I understand all the background noise if you will about this from gaming becoming more mainstream every day which creates more interest & drives up the price, gaming companies having a lot of people to pay & the markets regulating all of this which is where inflation comes in. Start thrifting and buying sales for software, for hardware you have to buy full price because I don’t think there will be price cuts unless they don’t sell like the PSVR 2
Let’s not forget, they silently raised the price for PlayStation 5 controllers. They’re getting wayyyy too comfortable.
Don't forget PSN they've also raised
It’s very heavy
I would rather use a third party controller which is lighter and transparent with changeable lights
We don't need a PS5 Pro to play PS4 Games. No go Sony.
It seems like they’re making this $700 so when the PS6 is $800 or $900 people won’t be as shocked.
Yep an I think I'm gonna go to pc
Adjusted for Inflation almost all Sony Consoles were 700-800 USW on release.

The thing that bothers me the most is the
"Apple mindset".

There is this thing called inflation. Pay 500 or 700 for an upgraded console with 2 tb I am getting it so i can get more use of my OLED bravia. I cant complain when i upgraded my GPU to a 4080 for 1200 less than a year ago.
Gamers “we want more powerful consoles”
Also gamers “wait, we have to pay for them?”
Hey, they had to recoup the losses from Concord somehow....

There's a reason my PS5 hasn't even been turned on since LAST YEAR and is collecting dust
I cant believe it, but i think my next console is going to be a PC
You won't regret it.
@christopherross8976 That's a $1600 laptop with a 4060, and it's throttled. I'm not saying it's not a nice laptop, but to say it's a massive upgrade over the PS5 Pro or a bargain is a stretch.
@@trenegade5441 You can find better deals for the G14 than that and I can still play most games at max or even ultra settings getting 60 fps with DLSS off. There’s probably better choices but it gives me more than enough personally. Either way I’ll prefer DLSS everytime over this new PSSR tech Sony’s developing
The disk drive is already selling out everywhere. Amazon, Target and nest best buy are already sold out.
People like to cry on the internet....but they're still going to buy it
I think this is going to be scalped. Scalper looking at the potential of Disc Driver buyers in future.
Scalpers mang
@@vanidge maybe. I think it'll sell about as well as the PS4 pro but only time will tell
I'm not buying it. Hell, didn't even buy the OG PS5
@@CartoonHangout Cool?
I agree with you that the sequel missing the two ghosts from the first movie was a shame, they were definitely the heart/drive of the first movie
Not only am I desensitized to GTA6 getting delayed, I'm desensitized to games in general getting delayed. I don't care anymore.
Its $1400 here in New Zeland. The Original PS5 was $799 here. Thats without the $170 disc drive and $80 stand.... its an absoloute joke
6:25 Greedy, thats the word you're looking for.
I don't know who thinks 700 is reasonable, on top of an online subscription and accessories. It's not much different from the already expensive ps5
We’re almost 5 years into this generation. Why would anyone spend $700 on PS5.5 when the PS6 is 3-4 years away.
Because they don't have a PS5.
Def not getting it, it's barely better and not 800 bucks (for my region) better. Also ps5 has no games
Saying it's barely better isn't accurate. It's 1.6x the power of the PS5. That's not a little bit or barely. Plus PSSR is gonna help, frame generation is a wonderful feature. I use FSR on my AMD build.
Is it worth $700? No, not at all.
@@howie3601LMAO
@howie3601 you really said that 😂😂
@howie3601 it's almost exactly the same
The sad part is that I know people who paid that much for a regular PS5 from scalpers during the shortage.
Me. Ouch.
The $700 price tag is also insane for someone like me who bought a normal PS5 for the same price during covid 💀
I think I still want to get it , I hate having to choose between quality and performance mode as I want both benefits
I know it won’t be for all games but it will still benefit games in performance mode that can’t reach 60fps
Ofc the price sucks I do agree but I think I want to still buy it :)
Same here.
Same
PC
There's nothing PRO about this PS5 PRO
700$ netflix machine with a dvd player sold separately?? Ill just stick with my ps5 disk edition, if i feel the need for 4k/raytracing ill hop on my pc.
Playstation was never meant to watch movies or content on. Bad quality not a good experience, no apps and a horrible homescreen
@@SundTFörnuft Well then they should release some games for it, so we can actually use it to play some games.
Who on earth categorises the PS5, never mind the PS5 Pro, as a Netflix machine?
@@rezwhap Its a joke man, cause there are still no games for the PS5.
@@xXYannuschXx Fair enough, then I read it too seriously!
Probably my last gen as a gamer , dont like where they are heading with this. Its been awesome, lets enjoy while it lasts.
So you watch some lies? Sony don't make sticks on controllers
@@BlackTone91they have stick drift
@@mikeuk666 But they are the same Xbox uses and Nintendo
Sony are really taking the pisser!
that's the phrase I was looking for!
For GTA fans "taking the "Pißwasser"
Sony must have forgot they were the ones who did the "299" moment that wiped a whole other game console off the map. They have forgotten a lot.
It's not a new console bro chill 😂😂😂😂 it's an OPTION nobody is forcing it or cancelling the slim 😂😂😂
@@yordantsvetkov4162 If the PS5 Pro is $700 how much is the PS6 going to be at launch? Bear in mind we're just 3 years away from the PS6. I highly doubt Sony is going to come out and announce the PS6 at $499..
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice review at the end was random, but appreciated.
$1000 in Canada, man 🙃
and only $579.99 for a PS5 Slim Digital lol
While I get that gaming continues to become more & more mainstream & gaming companies have a lot of people to pay I will never understand why some games start at 60.00 dollars or in this case the PS5 Pro is 700 dollars.
Gaming being more mainstream is the reason it’s like this
Because $60 isn't a lot? It's been proven/mentioned time and time and time again, adjusting for inflation new games have never actually been any cheaper to buy. So I guess you don't understand inflation, look it up.
@@cenciende9401 As I somewhat said I understand all the background noise if you will about this from gaming becoming more mainstream every day which creates more interest & drives up the price, gaming companies having a lot of people to pay & the markets regulating all of this which is where inflation comes in. However, as I also said 60-something dollars for a video game or in this case 700 dollars for a PlayStation is too much.
If it was 600 with the stand and disc drive, I’d be down with that. Maybe. This is insane
I came here to hear some takes on the new PS5 and I did not expect to find someone who shared all of my opinions about the original Beetlejuice and the sequel. Just felt like giving Jake a big hug; I have even more respect for him now. We'll always have the original!
At least GTA 6 will look amazingly amazing on it 🤩
"a fool and his money are easily parted"😂
It was weird there wasn't this much backlash when the new Xbox was announced at $600 with no changes besides a bit more memory.
It's a special edition console. It's not the standard Xbox Series X console. Also, it still has a disc drive so yeah.
I've only seen that 600$ Series X catching flak.
@JoseRodriguez-ik8gn still makes 0 sense. They added some memory and added green accents for $100. This adds the same amount and actually upgrades it for just $100 more. Both are far from ideal, but that deserves just as much backlash.
@@cppblank The cost of storage on the Xbox is more than $100, but okay dude it makes no sense.
@@JoseRodriguez-ik8gn I put a 2 TB in my PS5 for about $120 so $100 for 1 TB isn't great, but is only happening because Xbox made it where you can't expand it yourself. So you are saying the upgrades in the PS5, including the larger memory, are free to Sony? Unless you are claiming that they both are costing the company more and they are passing it on so no one should be saying anything about either or both should be getting equal backlash.
Get. A. PC.
Yes, I need one to push the FPS on ffxiv from 45-60 to 90-120...
And yes is expensive for a console but still cheaper that a top tier graphic card alone, is cheaper than my Iphone and cheaper than my TV.
Im done with consoles. Got a 4090 and now my consoles are for sale. I finally grew up.
Yep. 3090 ti, 7800x3d build. Planning for a 4090. No reason to use consoles if the exclusives are coming to pc.
The 4090 costs $2,000 alone. Just stop.
