Even before DOTS and before he entered the army SJK was insanely popular for his good-looks and he was 대새남 when appearing as Maru on 나쁜남자 and in Werewolf Boy. He didn't have anything to prove because he was already a megastar when he married SHK but his fame skyrocketed due to DOTs in China just like Jeon Ji Hyun's fame sky rocketed from her drama My Love From the Star despite her already being a superstar in Korea. To say Song Joong Ki was NO ONE before he met SHK is ignorance.
Oh yeah not to mention he left Running Man when it was probably the most popular Korean variety show at the time due to his skyrocketing popularity way before DOTs.

Idc about their personal lives too (we don't know the real reason of their separation and i like that they kept it private, less drama). They were worried about me being judged by others, they were also worried about it could impact my future marriage. But they couldn’t handle it anymore and they recently got divorced. I’m almost 40 and I think they should have divorced 30 years ago.

Lol. I love a lot of shows SJK stars in but I don't generally think he's memorable the way she is, in general... like a different actor could take his roles and be just as good or better. I briefly heard of this couple's drama but when Glory came out and when she won the award, I've never seen so many American fans go crazy for her on TikTok and other platforms. I lost all respect for Song Joong-ki because he just let her get ripped apart by the media and netizens (not only Korean but International) for nearly 4 YEARS while media playing and getting praise for being "a good guy". Even when the Glory was announced people were saying it was going to flop because of her just imagine if the Glory hadn’t happened... would her situation have changed? I don't think so.

i really didnt knew all of this was happening when i was younger, back then when the news broke and these two were divorced. i just thought they had incompatibility and brushed it away, but now that i heard of the amount of pressure SHK had to go true.. wow. shes such a strong woman and a respectable person, a role model.

Song Hye Kyo also won the award for Best Actress in the Baeksang awards for this role. I immediately looked up Song Jong Ki cause he also had a drama (Reborn Rich) which was a huge hit at this time, but it was his fellow actor that got nominated and won.
I didn't know what awards reborn rich had since I didn't watched it but I was super happy that Hye Kyo won Best actress she deserved it. It was a hella good comeback. I've watched her since I was in highschool so I'm so happy for her.
