Many of you who don't follow my tumblr may not be aware that I'm currently living in Tokyo for a year. I'm half way through and really enjoying it so far. I've tried to share my experiences on my blog here: / jmcvee
This video seemed to go down really well so I figured I would share it with my youtube homies too. I was playing a Mario kart arcade game when this guy playing Taiko No Tatsujin next to us started staring at us and doing crazy faces while playing. He then went on to perform a few songs for us and this is one of the recordings I managed to get.
On the video front. I do not have anything SFM planned currently. But I am starting production on my own independent PC game soon with some familiar faces and celebrities involved. When it's ready to share I'll post about it here first. Until then, enjoy the show.

Methodius Thatch You can actually have the game on your computer but you use keyboard or mouse. Download osu! It has a Taiko mode in it.
Methodius Thatch the only place I remember seeing this was in Florida when I was young and it was freaking fun as hell. I remember playing it so much my hands hurt lol I wish Dave and Busters had it too
Methodius Thatch The world will be complete if we can get Sound Voltex, Beatmania IIDX, and Taiko no Tatsujin overseas en masse.
Alas, people would probably steal the sticks if they brought Taiko no Tatsujin over... Probably why you don't see it that much.
Yeah it's in the Dave and Busters I think in Dolphin Mall in Miami or the Game Zone (formerly Gameworks) in Sunset Place.
They have one in the Seattle, Washington area (or so i hear, there's a sizeable Japanese community over there). I'd kill to play this game when i'm home in America, all i have is some of the wii versions and those don't have the newest song (that sounded very whiny what am i doing)
To play it on your computer i'd suggest Taiko-San Jirou over Osu though, as Jirou is (usually) smoother and is a dedicated(?) Taiko simulator.

man taiko is really hard on a keyboard or with buttons tbh. once you start getting into more complicated maps, it's a lot easier with something to hit. i suggest if you like taiko to get a wii tatacon and use it with taiko on Osu :) I play it on my 3ds and Wii U so i just use the screens for that, but in your case you might want to find a cheap drum to plug into your computer

I'm saying that if you wanted to play Taiko no Tatsujin with a physical drum either play an official taiko game on a Wii U with the drum controller (there's a ps2 one too but I'm not a bigfan of that one) or hook the drum controller up to Osu and play Taiko mode. Taiko mode on Osu is honestly really cool if you wanted your own songs to play because of course the only songs you get on the official games are those that are programmed in.
Or I mean, just continue to struggle with a keyboard if you'd prefer that. Although the physical taiko drum is a lot better because a keyboard doesn't register your drum hits like an actual drum does.
