Hey man! There's a lot of people that are super proud of you. Good work(: The best of wishes to all your endeavors. Beating tetris is only the beginning :)
The fact that the two top rivals don't even show any sort of malice of jealousy, but rather appreciation for each other in the competitive scene is a breath of fresh air
Most speedrunners are very courteous to their competitors, there would be no thrill without competition, nothing to look forward to or sense of progression.
You know what I LOVE about this? When the two guys are competing and the one dude hears about the other guy, he stops what he is doing and watches the other guys run and genuinely is happy that “he did it” even though technically it meant he lost the race. There is a genuine love of the game there.
This is very common in speedrunning and other extreme hardcore gaming challenges, and it's part of why I got so invested in it. It's so fun and wholesome how at the heart it's a community working together to push the limits.
This. Video. Hit. Me. Firstly, I am an old dude, sitting here on my balcony in the sun, certainly not planning to start my day with a video dealing with beating the only game I thought is unbeatable. Having had a NES (PAL version) with Tetris as a game by myself as a child and seeing this long-term achievement here is just unbelievable. I did not know that there is this scene out there trying to "complete" this game. Again, humans are awesome!! (and UA-cam algorithm is crazy!)
Competitive NES tetris is absolutely insane and there's so much going on in it, even right now. People are etching closer and closer to the genuine maximum level, 255, with only a bugged 800 line level blocking them. It's crazy to watch sometimes.
And then the News reporter in TV calling him to “touch some grass” so disrespectful from the kid. I hope he keep going with gaming, a bright future coming for him.
Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus. Romans 6:23 John 3:16😊😊❤❤
@@ScorpionF1RE----USA Bro, he had a giant grin, clapped his hands in delight, and you could hear in his voice he was genuinely happy for him. Humans are ultimately pack animals, the altruistic parts of our brain are dominant, they light up first in FMRIs, way before the greedy, self-centered parts. The NES Tetris community seem to be paragons of that. Don't let modernity poison you to the beautiful desire of humans to cheer for each other.
Seeing somebody do exceptionally well at something you are passionate about is just really exciting and very motivating - even if they are competing against you.
This is what the gaming community should be all about. No matter who the best is, they all were rooting for one another and when someone does the impossible, it raises everyone in that community. Love the energy
I like the fact that the other player seems so happy for Scuti while he is supposed to be a "rival". I like the good vibes that this community generates.
I have zero interest in the stuff, not sure why I watched the video, but yes, this was the best thing I noticed. He was happy for his "friend". Good stuff. I will go on record, no human will reach L255.
I’ve been suffering from unfriendly rivalries for years now. From my own experience, it’s an almost pure western communities problem. I’m glad it’s still different here.
Man, Fractal stopping his own run attempt to watch Scuti's was super cool, and his reaction and excitement at his rival's achievement absolutely melted me 🥹
@@octaviolopez9966I have a feeling now that it’s been done more people will slowly be able to hit the limit. I feel like the next step is progressing further up the levels, while trying to avoid the game crash triggers. Pushing for even higher level/scores
Fractal's happiness at Scuti reaching the true kill screen is peak human wholesomeness - while going for that goal of being the first to reach it, his humility won over to truly, genuinely appreciate seeing his rival beat it first. Fractal didn't lose. He succeeded in seeing the kill screen with Scuti. Mad respect for the tetris community as a whole thanks to that one moment in this video.
And in the end fractal was part of it! He pushed Scuti into going there too in the end. The true beauty of competition and pushing each other as humans further!
I love how friendly this community looks, when someone is beaten in a competition, they don't break down or freak out, they congratulate the winner and are genuinely happy to see someone else take the game further. I wish more communities were like that.
I am a 52 year old man. This was in my feed for whatever reason and I don’t even play computer games. But I watched it to the end with great delight :)
@@NovellNUSoulSerieshey kid, dont blink, by the way your going (being a troll and hateful) you will be lucky to get to his age as tomorrow is not promised.. better get your stuff together..
The thing I love the most about the community is how people are supportive, instead of competitive. Sure, they both went for the record of being the first one to crash, but when Blue won, there wasn’t animosity. There was celebration that it was achieved
This tends to happen in any competition where excelling does not mean your opponent does poorly. Generally things where you compete against yourself and compare to another person. Tetris, speed running, pinball, and competitive board breaking are all very wholesome scenes where the other guy wants to win, but also wants to see you break the record.
@@inthefade Yup. There's a reason why it's very looked down upon to develop techniques in secret then suddenly drop a world record. Speedrunning is about collaboration, not glory.
The glitched color schemes are probably the coolest thing i’ve heard about in gaming. Dusk, and charcoal being like secret boss levels no one knew about…and the last level being full red is just so sick
What a beautiful and elegant video into the Tetris scene and the accomplishment of BlueScuti! I started following the NES tetris scene literally because of this video and your channel.
I rly like the color glitching levels towards the "end" makes them feel like a mysterious "area" or "section" of the game that essentially just consist of silly blocks
Honestly e-sports have this privilege where most of the pro's just don't seem to stop developing. Maybe it's because of the competiveness that keeps driving the scene idk it's cool to watch though.
It seems kind of like when you are immersed in a language from birth, getting fluent in it is effortless because your brain is just living it and growing around it. Kids these days are born into technology-rich settings where getting as good as you can at a video game as a hobby is no longer seen as a "waste of time" because even some older folks know what e-sports are. I love it. I am so stoked to see what the stable of top FPS players, speedrunners, and MOBA players looks like in the next ten to fifteen years. Tetris has felt like just the sneak preview.
@@erikeriks Honestly social media revitalised Tetris. It becoming so popular created a new wave of young people with a lot of time and very few responsibilities picking up the game and becoming obscenely good at it. I love how far the Tetris pro scene has come.
Can we talk about how endearing it is that Fractal reacted with genuine joy when Scuti got the crash? I love competitive people that more excited by the community's achievement than they are concerned to be the one doing the achieving.
The thing I love the most about this is how genuinely happy the rest of the community is with him doing it. Congrats to Blue Scuti and all the other badass Tetris players who have kept this game alive.
@@itchiegamesproject much? Considering you have a gaming channel, your comments reek of jealousy. Maybe take a cue from Fractal and support your fellow gamers when they achieve a goal instead of rushing to tear them down to try and feel better about yourself.
@@itchiegames So you think, they are just pictures on your screen? Do you know how videos work? People get recorded by other people. So all of these moving pictures are pictures of actual human beings that are very good at something. Can you imagine that? If you can, try it too sometime, it might bring you joy. :)
That was a very good video. In the mid 1990s we didn't have cable tv in our dorm rooms, but we had nintendos. Super tecmo bowl, dr. mario, tetris, and other games were so much fun. We'd run tetris tournaments in our dorm for fun, along with tournaments for about a dozen other types of games. It's amazing that any of us ever ended up with a college degree. Watching this video brings back a lot of memories, not that we ever got even remotely close to the scores these guys had, but I can remember the first time you saw each rocket, to the space shuttle, till the castle itself took off. So many fond memories, thank you!!!
That's because there really are no rivals in attempting to push a game to its limits. It is a MASSIVE community effort, Scuti is simply the one that made that one final push to finally getting the killscreen. Not to diminish his achievement, though - it is _insanely_ impressive. I just wanted to point out that this wasn't a competition to see who could beat the game first, but a huge collaborative effort to try to even beat the game in the first place
Beautiful. The original killscreen trying to beat the player, the true killscreen when the player triggers the game crash, and the rebirth screen when no one trying to kill each other and go beyond together is, once again, simply beautiful. What a game.
It's also symbolic that the last level right before the rebirth screen turns to pure crimson red. Sort of feels otherworldly/heavenly to me like once you pass through this last level on a real NES a portal will open up to somewhere. Heck maybe a tetris genie will pop out and grant you 3 wishes.
At the end of the day, these kinds of competitions are primarily about personal improvement, rather than direct competition. The only way to get good at this kind of thing is to set your number one opponent as YOURSELF. You see this in traditional sports at the highest level as well, like running and swimming. There's a famous video of someone who just set a world record in swimming look up at the board, see that the swimmer in the lane next to him set a personal best, and celebrated their improvement as well.
It was so touching when he said “I’m going to go on” when he missed his first chance. Some people might immediately give up, get mad, or let their feelings distract them. Yet he stayed so calm. Even during the second miss he stayed calm and just went with the moment. Such a good attitude to live by. Can’t find the original quote but here’s a close one: “Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.” He relaxed and let the uncontrollable take over, and just focused on playing the game to his best.
I'm super proud of this kid. His Tetris play is out of this world. He had recently lost his dad, too. So I can only imagine the mourning he's probably still going through when he pulled off this feat. What a talented young man.
Speaking from experience; Those moments in a game when you just get to be in the present, letting go of everything, even sorrow. It's such a great way to zone out for a moment, when you feel the need
Fun fact: Playing Tetris right after a traumatic event is factually proven to drastically reduce the likelyhood of developing further trauma/ptsd from the event. And if you think this comment is a joke/lie, it’s not, and yes I’m genuinely as surprised as you are lol. 😅
@@MrMelonszyeah, it's within a half-hour to an hour or so of a traumatic event, I think, before your short-term memory starts offloading to long-term; unfortunately, that's not a very large window of time, so its clinical adoption is therefore somewhat dubious, I believe, but it's a very neat discovery.
Can we all appreciate that this nerd-scene is a very healthy scene? They get happy for each other, not jealous when their opponents succed. I think it is amazingly sweet and I am happy that it is a kid who are the OG in the Tetris scene.
He achieved one of the biggest achivements in gaming history. GGWP on him. Also I love that there are 3 endings. The OG Killscreen aka the bad ending The True Killscreen aka the Good Ending and the Best ending: the Rebirth or Reincarnation screen
a kid has more chance to do a reflexes-based challenge, LoL pro-players are inhumane, until they reach 25 years old and from that they start retiring due to lacking reflexes
its always a kid. adults set the base to competition and sometimes maybe decades later the kids take over with their superior reflexes and sponge-like learning
This is utterly insane and there's no way Alexey Pajitnov could have eve predicted this is where Tetris would be after over 3 decades. I am genuinely excited to see who will be the first madlad to reach total rebirth and truly finish Tetris! Amazing as always, aGameScout!
@bensmith3890 I hope he did. What OP said still stands though. He could've never predicted this in his wildest dreams (nor did he probably even know about the true kill screen).
In the Tetris movie , one KGB official says that Tetris almost made Soviet Union to collapse, because all the public workers were addicted playing Tetris game 😂
Seeing a kid beat Tetris gives me chills. Anything is possible, this is a minor achievement in the grand scale of mankind. We can get back to the advanced civilization we once were by uniting and putting our minds and hearts together.
I was planning to use this as my background music to help me sleep expecting it to be a documentary.... instead i lost 17min of my sleep to how interesting it is.... hehehehe
It's funny how Tetris is one of the most basic games there is, but has such a rich story behind it, from their creation, to their playerbase and it's impact on videogames.
The year is 2047. It's the CTWC quarter finals. All of the competitors are 11 years old. TV one is hosting the fierce clash between Competitor A who has crash-dodged successfully to R1 (Rebirth one) and Competitor B, who, in a tragic twist of events, hit a Triple on level 252 causing him to TKS with a slight lead, sure to be lost. TV two features two of the fiercest competitors, both on R2. Chris Tang has tragically lost his voice over the 7 hours of quarter-final play and must resort to a button that shouts, "BOOM, Tetris" whenever he presses it
I love how when he got the crash instead of getting upset, the others freaked out and acted like it was "them vs. Tetris" rather than their competing with each other. Maybe it's an illusion, but damn, seems like the Tetris community is pretty wholesome!
It's always been this way. Being a grandmaster myself, I've always looked up to masters strictly because I know the time sink to become half good on any version. You always have this sense like everyone's almost perfect, but you could be better.
This was a great explanatory video. His achievement was also in the news in Japan, but there was little background information. Your explanation helped me understand that before he achieved the kill screen, there were various technological breakthroughs made by his predecessors, that the development of playing AI led to the discovery of unknown characteristics of the Tetris program itself, and that after the programmers analyzed the occurrence rate of the kill screen, the entire player community came together to challenge this extremely difficult barrier, "as if defeating Skynet." It is no wonder that many of his fellow community members were as happy as if it were their own achievement when he achieved his feat. For them, Tetris has the same meaning as "a powerful enemy to all life on Earth," such as Skynet in Terminator, the giant meteorite in Armageddon, or the alien army in Contra 3.
I hadn't seen Fractal's realtime reaction before this video. The level of sportsmanship he shows in his genuine excitement for Scuti's accomplishment in that moment is so incredible to see. What an awesome person!
Because there's no characters to ships No alternate universe Not competative ( I'm not counting the speedrun ) No cringe fanbase Everyone just trying to get better in game and nothing
What truely got me in this video was watching Fractals excited reaction to Scuti actually accomplish the crash in my opinion that shows true sportsmanship. Showing that even competitors can have joyful respect for each other. Congratulations Scuti I can wait to see where you will go from here.
@@zufieusagi7509and dodge all the "traps" that crash the game. It is almost like a pacifist mode, where as crashing the game is like "murdering" the game.
I think it will be a while before people get that far. They have to clear another hundred levels under increasingly difficult restrictions, plus 800 lines on level 235. Some of the restrictions look really difficult to pull off individually, let alone stringing a hundred of them together into a single run. Someday, though.
I've gotta say, with no previous interest in this subject, this video was so well done and put together it makes you really see the feat for what it is.
agreed!! im glad this is blowing up, scouts vids are so well constructed and presented. highly recommend looking thru his channel if you wanna see more.
i agree, i knew basically nothing on this topic but i found this video very interesting and i have a whole new respect for the Tetris community. Love how non-toxic this gaming community seems to be aswell, cheering each other on instead of doing the opposite
I love that they show support for each other instead of bashing and being bitter towards each other.... Great sportsmanship.... Like they were actually rooting for each other and happy to see that the game level had been achieved rather than who achieved it.... Well done you two
I'm so impressed that this video didnt just hijack the news of this awesome moment. Ya'll made a whole ass mini documentary with in depth history and explanation with visuals and all. Did a fantastic job doing scuti and the tetris community justice. Nice work
Yep. When the news broke, there were (and still are) tons of 1-2 minute videos simply reporting that it was done, but I wanted to watch this nearly 17 minute one because the thumbnail preview showed it was going to explain _why_ this is such an achievement. Without the historical context, it's just another "Oh neat" story, with the context it's more of "Oh wow! That's awesomely crazy!"
the guy that runs this channel is actually a part of the community himself, and he even competes at the same in-person competition these top players do. he definitely was the right guy with the passion and inside knowledge needed to do this story justice
Same here. :) It seems that the Tetris gaming community is humble and appreciative of others, at least from the small sample size of folks we saw on this video.
It reminds of of pro skating and snowboarding. When somebody does something amazing, they _all_ celebrate _that it happened,_ even when lose to the one who did it. All competitive endeavors...and life in general...should be more like that. Every new accomplishment reveals a broader understanding of what's _possible,_ and celebrating each other's achievements, sincerely congratulating those who reach our goals _before_ us, costs us nothing while building broader respect and goodwill.
There's something so poetic about the fact that the last possible level is pure red. It's likely a complete coincidence but it's just such a fitting capstone on what has become such a big challenge.
I don't know the history of the term "hell level" in games, where it first came up, but yeah, it's like Tetris ends in hell, and if you beat it, you're reborn... It's mythical. Not sure I like being born into a neverending Tetris game, but that's another matter. Honestly, most of us won't play an hour of Tetris, let alone 3-5 hours a day, so the story is a bit odd from this perspective - it's like climbing Everest - we're all impressed, but left wondering why... I guess it's just because we can - set a mind to a goal, take that journey, and see it happen - it's magical.
It really feels like a fighting sports anime arc. The protagonist starts in the village, wrestling against increasingly difficult local wrestlers. Then the protagonist gets invited to a tournament to fight against pro wrestlers. Then the tournament gets infiltrated by forces of evil. Shady individuals with strange powers are challenging our protagonist. Two of them, nicknamed "Dusk" and "Charcoal" serve as mini-bosses that give the protagonist particularly hard time. Then after a few more battles the final boss appears: "Crimson Demon" (I don't know what it's called, I'm just guessing it's a really cool name) And after finally defeating the final boss and earning the champion's title, the protagonist can go back to his village, where he wrestles some kids for fun.
In Norway, beating a video game is called «rounding» it, probably because in many early games you went back to the start, for example in super mario. It seems like the true beating of tetris is indeed rounding it
@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist5 I don't know if your realize this, but you're pushing people away from your religion by trying to spread it in completely irrelevant comment sections. It's very annoying, please stop.
my guess is that every speedrunner knows that what they do is due to the collective effort/knowledge of their community. Like when one speedrunner figures out a trick, they freely explain it to everyone else.
You know it's a fantastic video when you feel a sense of awe and wonder and mystery about a thing you never even cared about before. This was highly interesting and made me feel more things than I care to admit.
Right? I was genuinely tearing up with happiness when Scuti gasped. Though, when I was about his age my mom was obsessed with NES Tetris and managed to get the best end screen of Type-B mode with all of the characters in the band, which is something I've never seen anyone do ever again and I'll be 42 in a week. For me, it was like reliving the excitement and thrill of watching my mom's daily sessions with the game all over again.
I too didn't know anything about the Tetris community before watching this. But it did not give me chills, I still find it pretty boring. I really can't enjoy speed run things. It requires loads of time and effort just to achieve something that in most cases doesn't provide anything concrete.
@@webrevolution. Every person has fun in their own way. If you find something boring it doesn't mean other people find it boring as well. I don't find Tetris interesting either. But I find anything about Minecraft interesting. Just like how a guy that likes football finds anything about football interesting. It's all about your interests tbh.
@@nightxrage2957 I think the first part of your message is pretty useless. I did not need to be reminded people have different interests. It's obvious and I did not say that everyone should think the same way I do. I just talked about myself personally and I am fine even if most other people don't feel the same. Anyways what I was arguing is that speed running this game does not provide with anything concrete or positive that I personally know of. So yeah, same goes for watching football, it's not that I find that any better than this Tetris thing. But at least there is a difference with football cause if you practice it then you actually improve physically in ways that are measurable. Your body does change in a positive way. It's not the same for Tetris, where playing or watching is pretty much the same level of usefulness, which is low imho.
It's cuz once one does it they feel like they all made it and that is because they all learn from each other so they know that with enough practice they can make it as well
The fact the game straight up turns fully blood-red and then proceeds to reset is just the kind of scary thing you actually CANNOT make up. For real that shit made me SHIVER
Things like that were quite common on the ZX Spectrum and C64, C16. Some of those game ending screens were the creepiest things and it could be a game where your just moving a square over holes.
You know, I'm not even really into Tetris, but this video was great and I was hooked the whole time. Congratulations to all the record holders and attempters! Here's to the Rebirth Screen!
This made me cry. I dont play tetris. But seeing that kid so happy and learning the history really helped bring out the significance and sheer joy of his achievement.
I also liked how the other guy also cheers too. It is great to see people be happy for others accomplishments even if they're technically competing against them. Seems like a cool scene.
I feel like he's probably on the spectrum (not an insult i am an aspie this is just an observation) and if that's the case I can definitely see the level of emotion he was going through. People often say we don't feel emotions but that's not entirely true, when we do they are a torrent that would knock you off your feet and that's what I saw there
I sincerely hope that kid is the coolest kid at his school, unironically. Like, he earned it, he is genuinely wildly talented and has remarkable reaction speeds, he has so much potential already, even being just 13. Idk, I have faith in kids and teens today to recognise how damn cool that is. Mostly joking, but if he goes on to be the first to complete Tetris to the final possible level and loop it over, literally just give him the rights to the game, it's his game now.
@@ConstantChaos1 also on this note, I'm autistic too and I relate to his reaction too actually. While I haven't reached a gaming feat even close to that level, I know that emotions can be so strong that like, some form of physical movement and repetition is pretty much required just to process, and yeah I look like that too when completing difficult moments. Also can confirm, a lot of autistic people do really enjoy and get very fixated on Tetris, it was probably one of my earliest fixations to the point of experiencing the Tetris effect at multiple points in my life. (daydreaming the blocks irl) We can't diagnose a stranger online of course and shouldn't want to, but I do see the relateable traits, and whether Blue Scuti actually is or not doesn't change the fact that the reaction to his stream makes people who share similar reactions to excitement feel seen and not mocked for it. It isn't an insult or an insistence, you're right that it's just an observation
@lilpetz500 yeah 100%, I used to actually be able to do differental diagnosises remotely but that's not what I was doing here lol anyway my ems certs lapsed a couple days ago so I wouldn't be diagnosing after that anyway lol
@@MarceloGonzalez-ur5ck I mean, I find the coding that made all of this stuff possible to be fascinating, and that's all Tetris, but if you don't, cool bro, go off.

Tetris may not be chess, but it requires processing speed that correlates to other elements of intellect. Would not surprise me in the slightest if the kid has a genius IQ and may not even know it.
@@georgemccartney8906 yeah, less about the individual than I was expecting. The mountain analogy is a great one. I’m used to gamers being stereotyped as toxic and antisocial. Great to see
14:50 Something I love about this is that its blood-red colour palette makes it FEEL like a final boss. This is everything you've been working towards. Now, the final battle. You must clear out lines of blood-red tiles, where a single mistake could lead to your downfall, or worse, an early crash right at the very end. But should you persevere and succeed, that's it. You did it. You took Tetris to its limits, and you BEAT those limits, emerging back on Level 0 to do it all again.
I'm SO proud of this kid, and it's so amazing how the community has poured sheer sportsmanship into him. Tetris has such a wholesome competition scene. From the J award to now people literally cheering Scuti on while live trying to achieve the same record- I fucking love this game.
This is the best part of humanity. Plus, it's refreshing to see a kid that young who has already learned that picking a goal and putting some effort into it will pay off. These folks are awesome.
actually he learned the exact opposite. he dedicated his win to his father that recently passed and his local news station laughed at him because it “wasn’t a big deal” and people all over the internet are saying that they beat it when they were kids so this kid isn’t getting the recognition he deserves
@@charlottenys9603nah theres alot more congratulations than naysayers, the haters just stand out more. this kid got on the news world wide and at least 10 million people have watched this video documenting his story. despite what anyone else says this kid did something extraordinary and no one can take that away from him

The video was great in explaining the aspects of the record, which helped me understand the reason why this was a milestone for a very old game. To me though, it's like someone achieving a speed dial record on a rotary phone...
Thor Aackerlund deserves credit as one of the biggest legends in Video Game History for not only accomplishing the first Level 30 killscreen and taking 7 years before it could be beat, but also winning the original 1990 Nintendo World Championship in the youth category at the age of 13!
I’m pretty sure he claimed to get level 30 back during his competitive playing days as well, meaning if he wasn’t lying (which I see no reason to doubt him) he was truly decades ahead of everyone else.
Well I mean to be fair I give 0 shits about retro gaming and I had heard about him before this video so I think his fame is a bit established, now where how and why I acquired this knowledge is entirely beyond me since again this isn't remotely my scene (but fun facts are so here I am) but yeah
This was really heartwarming. It's cool to see such a young kid absolutely demolishing such a classic game, and it's cool to see the community of speedrunners celebrating one another, learning from one another, and pushing each other further.
Holy mother of GOD! The story telling is absolutely S tier. I was hypnotized from the very beginning. And that ending?! REBIRTH??? wow. Wow. Wow. Hats off to this video. People don't realize how much work goes into such a "simple" video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is a massive achievement, congrats to all involved. It's actually really surprising to me that despite the crash triggers starting around level 150, there's not a single guaranteed crash between there and the loop after level 255. Although there may still be crashes somewhere in that range that aren't HUMANLY avoidable. I'm very interested in what ends up happening with the highest level record over the coming years, and whether it ends up settling in some unreasonably difficult level or not.
yeah some of the crash trigger avoiders are insanely difficult. even the level 157 one early on where you have to avoid singles is pretty hard, you can get screwed with the rng. we may just see players opt for a 255 run with mods on that fix the crashes. but for unmodded runs, it makes a ton of levels a significant and unique achievement again.
@@aGameScout Well that just makes me wonder how far the game truly can be pushed then... Cause a lot of old games had an overflow at either 256 or 65536 due to the bit-integer limits

Again, humans are awesome!!

Competitive NES tetris is absolutely insane and there's so much going on in it, even right now. People are etching closer and closer to the genuine maximum level, 255, with only a bugged 800 line level blocking them. It's crazy to watch sometimes.

At the end of the day, these kinds of competitions are primarily about personal improvement, rather than direct competition. This was a great explanatory video. His achievement was also in the news in Japan, but there was little background information.
Your explanation helped me understand that before he achieved the kill screen, there were various technological breakthroughs made by his predecessors, that the development of playing AI led to the discovery of unknown characteristics of the Tetris program itself, and that after the programmers analyzed the occurrence rate of the kill screen, the entire player community came together to challenge this extremely difficult barrier, "as if defeating Skynet."
It is no wonder that many of his fellow community members were as happy as if it were their own achievement when he achieved his feat.

@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist5 I don't know if your realize this, but you're pushing people away from your religion by trying to spread it in completely irrelevant comment sections. It's very annoying, please stop.
this video may be about something seemingly trivial but it really shows humanity at its best, I enjoyed watching this so much, thank you
Fractal's reaction to bluescuti's crash was actually so heart warming. I didnt expect him to be excited
my guess is that every speedrunner knows that what they do is due to the collective effort/knowledge of their community.
That description of the Rebirth Screen is surprisingly philosophical and inspiring.
and one of several ways to look at it
Lmao 💀
World Peace will be established once a human can reach the Rebirth Screen.
The meaning of life will be revealed and suffering will end.
This video was done so excellently that you have earned a new subscriber and im currently watching more of your content
I knew nothing about the Tetris community before watching this. The last couple minutes gave me chills. What a story.
I didn't know either. I still don't know how it's played! I'm such a dolt.
@@davidhunternyc1"I'm such a dolt🥰" lmao
The "final" level 255 having a pure red color scheme is so cosmically hilarious to me, given Tetris' origins in the Soviet Union
Somewhat coincidental indeed
thought it was rather hellish than communist
I can kinda see that.
@juxyper same difference
The game knows its in a capitalist hell hole, and it bleeds, so it won't be in it much longer....
I love that the tetris community is so wholesome and supportive of each other.

Wow you did such a great job of explaining why this was such an achievement and what the future holds I’m genuinely in this now
i love how they are competing against each other but they all get so hyped up and happy when the other guy makes it. Truly a wholesome community
Creepypasta energy. No one could make it more spooky than it being real though.
Things like that were quite common on the ZX Spectrum and C64, C16. Some of those game ending screens were the creepiest things and it could be a game where your just moving a square over holes.
maybe because in the RGB color pattern, the red is 0,and maybe it worked with rgb colors so the cubes couldn't even change colors
Poetic
I literally felt the same thing...👻 🖥️
These players are literally operating the game like a musical instrument, like a guitar or banjo. It's sublime to watch.
I love the pure emotion from Scuti when he reaches the killscreen. That’s the way I felt when I beat Zelda as a kid. He’s on another level
(daydreaming the blocks irl)
We can't diagnose a stranger online of course and shouldn't want to, but I do see the relateable traits, and whether Blue Scuti actually is or not doesn't change the fact that the reaction to his stream makes people who share similar reactions to excitement feel seen and not mocked for it.
This is honestly really wholesome, wasn't expecting tetris to be so interesting.

Rebirth happened today, congrats dogplayingtetris!
I love how these records are built upon the achievements of past players. There’s a really good-natured community aspect to the competitors. It was so wholesome to see how happy all these amazing people were for blue scooty.
Tetris may not be chess, but it requires processing speed that correlates to other elements of intellect. Would not surprise me in the slightest if the kid has a genius IQ and may not even know it.
@@michaelh3075 for sure. The pure dedication required is incredible in and of itself
Its like the rocks of a mountain. Some form the base so that others may reach the stars above

Feels like it's the only legitimate achievement tbh.
Old dog here,, I'm in tears of joy for this kid !!!
When I reach the Rebirth part, I almost cry. There is just something about it that make me emotional
Sometimes I pee when I poo
This should be on the Oscars for best documentary !
The storytelling was second to none
Itd be interesting if this game necessitated a passenger, lik in rally racing or something, lol.@@aGameScout
@@aGameScout Well that just makes me wonder how far the game truly can be pushed then...
Cause a lot of old games had an overflow at either 256 or 65536 due to the bit-integer limits
