The emphasis on shuffling around on a flat pad and keeping yourself balanced instead of smacking arbitrary buttons with your feet definitely makes DRS way more freeform and conducive to legit dancing
If you look it up there ddr competitions that are focused on the dancing element of ddr. They usually play easy songs and do crazy shit like parkouring off the top of the machine.

Yeah, no kidding. One time I tried to record my friends and I playing one of these in an arcade, all the dumb rugrats kept jumping and trying to be in the frame. The only good footage I got was basically us setting up the difficulty before they started rampaging the place. And another time some ladies were trying to hog the spotlight for selfish "look how pretty I am" reasons. Literally told them off to leave and just put my camera away.
@@_lun4r_ Just keep it up consistently, also change the speed at which you see your notes to a faster speed to help with reaction and eventually consistent high speeds will pull you out of that slump. Might take a couple months though. That's what I had to do.

Im actually pretty impressed with how durable those dance pads are considering the abuse they go through. Also, how do those guys do those sliding moves wearing average gym shoes?
The game have 3 type of scoring, perfect, near, miss. Max score is 100.0. You only need to focus on moving horizontally on the platform, moving vertically is free. You can play 2 player on one cab, or play with 4 people with 4 cab. The songs have their own difficulty, so far lvl10 is the highest but some of the song are harder than as stated. But you can learn the move by playing the tutorial in-game or just practicing at home with some youtubers that recorded the gameplay UI/ song charts to your TV screen. -I'm just enthusiastic about this game and yet my country arcade centre doesn't have it. Yeah it's sad.

Everybody talking about the (super amazing) dance moves, but nobody mentioning how: during the setup, *no one* passed by the camera, but as soon as they started dancing *everyone and their grandmother* startdd passing by and blocked parts of the dances
The one on the right moves seemed closer to that of a b-boyer. Left side seemed more electronic shuffler. I enjoyed both their movements. Very entertaining.
I watched a man at the arcade do a complicated song like this, but I think he might be a dancer.. there was a lot of style in the moves, alot of flipping and a natural groove, while the other focused more on hitting the notes. It was fascinating to watch.
Like guitar hero, after a while it just becomes instinct. (Also look at the screan closely and it shows where their feet are relative to the notes on the bottom)
