- This is a pretty short video showing a few Redfin me and a couple of mates have caught over three days. Thanks for watching please like, comment and subscribe. If you have any tips or ideas on how I can improve my videos pls comment them.
Redfin are easily my favourite fish to catch
Are red classed as a invasive species in Adelaide? I know in NSW's they don't want them released once caught!🎣🎣🎣
Yeah that's right!
What about the spot youre in for the video, was 3 years ago now happy to share the location ?
What lures are good
Depends what fish
@@kmhfishing8359 redfin in the torrens
Zman Curltail grubz are good in motor oil, I've also done alright with spinners and blades when the water clarity is worse
@@kmhfishing8359 at 3:47 is that a Daiwa double clutch
@@edandobie4150 nah, it's a daiwa presso minnow
Would a 75 cm rod work for them?
Bit small maybe 2m
@@kmhfishing8359 alr... Would it work though, it's a lure rod so it would be perfect for the little swim swimz
Have you ever had success at the River Sturt Flood Control Dam or up from there ?
I haven’t personally had any luck in there but there’s certainly fish if you can find the right way to fish the area
What did you mean find the right way ?@@kmhfishing8359
Right sorta lures and depth to work them, I’ve heard of people have good luck on small soft plastics fished deep
@@kmhfishing8359 you’ve changed your information after 2 weeks haha
I haven’t caught anything in there that’s just what I’ve heard
did you put it back ?
Ofc bro
Always good fun reddies aye! got one out of kangaroo years ago went 1.1kg wish there were more about. Im stuck in NZ due to covid have to cathc big kings and trout till i get back to ADL, sux to be me haha! New sub bro keep them coming.
Thanks heaps mate! I'd much rather be catching kingys and trout haha but redfin are pretty fun. 1.1kilo is a chunky fish!
Tbh I fished all my young life and lost it in my teens. Then when I moved to Adelaide Redfin got me back into it aye 100mph now lol
@@AdriftFishing yeah they are a great fish, easy to find and fight hard, also taste great. One of my favorite fish!
And they just look cool! I’ve watched a few euro vids and looks sick over there. There is a lake here I can get some. Might try next week
Yeah sounds good, will be trying for them this weekend as well
Would there be fish in mount remarkable mountains? And how do I know if there are fish there?
Hey mate, I could garantee you there are some fish in that area, what you need to do is some research on which creeks, dams and rivers have water all year round, once you find some permanent water bodies you will most likely need to gain access from the owner because most of it is private property. Then you just gotta put in the time fishing it and exploring. Hope that helped🤙
Kmh Fishing I have found a small area that is a pet I ant pond
Good one mate, some stonker reddies in there
Cheers Robbie, there sure were
awsome vid kuan
Thanks Harrison
Hello, great vid, coming to the hills in Nov, do you need a license to fish ?
Nah man no license needed
just asking mate where exactly are you fishing in the adelaide hills coz i have never caught a redfin and would really like to catch one
I'm not gonna tell you exactly where it is because good spots take time to find, but try the upper torrens
@@kmhfishing8359 aight mate thanks tho
Im in Mount Barker, is this anywhere near there?
Hey mate I don't usually fish that way so I don't know much about the fishing there but I know that a few of the lakes and dams around there have redfin in them so it's just worth going around to them and giving them a go. Best way to find spots.
Try goyders reserve Mylor, the weir off Fedder Rd but being mt Barker try old mt Barker reservoir totness. Aldgate valley off the little stone bridge , has trout n redfin , Heathfield railway dam ( worabinda)@@kmhfishing8359
Mate, I've fished that area! I found some good ones along the Onkaparinga river through Mylor (look on google maps and try anywhere along it with public access). If you are game, there is a bridge that goes over it off river road, but access is tough and you have to be good at climbing to get down there, but you can cetainky catch some good ones there.
I'm going to hitting the big red fin this trout season coming. Good watch will subscribe!!!!!!. check out some of the big red's I've caught and eat.:)
Awesome stuff, cheers🤙
I'm surprised that they are there!!
Not a bad feed!
Great vid man I have a question where can you fish for redfin in the hills
He mate cheers. I'd just go in Google maps and check out every significant river or creek that you can see on satellite, go into Street veiw if you can and sus it out. Most rivers that have water all year round will have Redfin or trout
In their native lands, those are called perchs :D
Yes they are :)
hey mate nice video bro, can you give me a shout out just wondering
Thanks mate
@@kmhfishing8359 can you shout me out
Nup
Might pay to learn some fish handling skills mate.
Sure mate, wanna teach me?
@@kmhfishing8359 Using wet hands and a landing net would be a great start. Need to conserve our fish stocks through careful handling of those that are returned to the water. The bigger ones are next season breeding stock.
They are some good ideas mate, but these are introduced species that are supposed to be killed. So technically I shouldn't releasing them at all, let alone taking as much care as I can to insure they survive. Sure I'm letting them live to breed for the next season, but since they are a pest I don't rly care if one dies from bad handling, although thats probably the least likely way they would die.
