Love the Jig Head organizer. Is it just a lure box and foam cut to fit.

do you have any suggestions for weights of jig heads when land based, is it better to go as light as possible

1/8 to 1/16...1/12 is pretty good

Depends on the depth you want to fish and conditions, e.g. wind, current, etc. A lighter jig head 1/12, 1/16, 1/20 ounce are good for shallower water, or when you want to fish a jig head / soft plastic slower. But the lighter jig heads are harder to cast any distance.
A heavier jighead, like a 1/6, 1/8 is good for casting a bit further distance, sinks quicker, but for shallow water it can get snagged easier.
      Cheers.

k here in the US we call them yellow perch. I've never seen anyone fish from that way but I'll have to try it, if we have any here in Florida. lol

Yellow perch are here in Australia too but they are a different member of the perch family. These are Redfin Perch quite a bit different from the yellow (or as we call them, yellowbelly) perch
