- Viewfinder Part 3 - I loved The Witness's sound puzzles, but I bet that people who hated those will enjoy Viewfinder's. They can also be solved by deaf people! Also featuring more new mechanics and overall strong puzzle design.

In case some people don't know, I believe the reasoning behind why the blue stuff is 'immune' to the camera relates way back to animation during the early-mid 20th century. Animators would use blue pencils to draw construction lines that they wouldn't want in the final animation because early scanners could not pick up some blues.
Quite interesting!
That's so cool! thank you for sharing that idea lol
Yup, non photo blue.
That's purple and is sead to be ingame
The violet is explained as a separate organism. The blue battery and blue teleporter are what he meant
3:13 I like how he immediately forgets the gimmick of the world being everything is photo resistant
It's painful to watch him ignore the intended solutions because he keeps forgetting that, but it's cool that he is still finding alternative solutions to what he thinks is impossible
This is painful? How sensitive do you have to be?
@@paulelderson934 how frail is your ego?
He wasn’t wrong on buying the game before watching, he is zooming through puzzles
He is doing a good job of skipping all of the lore, though, and the story is really good
@@bandana_girl6507Tyler doesn’t bother with lore unless he cares just that much
@@pikminman13 You have to actively disable a few settings to avoid the lore as much as he does in the videos. Cait is very talkative
@@bandana_girl6507I guess he doesn't want to spoiler viewers, especially since with how much the video is edited it's hard to capture the story in full.
@fangzhang9376 he literally just doesnt care
This game continues to blow my mind, for puzzle reasons, and for reasons of "how did they program this???"
I am interested how long it took to make. Would be funny if it took less time than Storyteller.
It is based on some linear algebra.
From lens's location, angle, distance from the lens are input of a part.
The part can calculate where to where could be captured.
The 'where' informations are mapped with original map data to find physical issue(object in the image, etc.)
If you choose display them, it work reverse manner.
The printing process of camera have many fake points to earn some such calculation time, though.
Have you noticed the shutter sound and printing image are tricky method to make a time?
If you could not understand my explanation, freely reply 'hey its too hard' or something.
@@cheolhanmoon6204wow you are a rare breed of an idiot, a delusional idiot.
@@cheolhanmoon6204 I kind of understand, but the hardest part of programming the game would be the terrain removing mechanic.
I love how much care went into making this game visually appealing
1:42 I didn't notice this hole showing the teleporter so I went around just randomly placing photos til I destroyed the teleporter for the big warning message :D
sound is a very intuitive way to display wireless connections to the player. cool ideas again from this game!
This game just keeps getting better. So pleased with all these new mechanics
I always love puzzles that you would probably only think of if you programmed the game. Having things that dont show up in photos just doesnt seem like a mechanic when youre creating the idea of "im going to make a puzzle game where you take pictures and then they become real" it seems more like something that you'd think of as youre programming it and notice that you have to specifically make sure you clone every object to the picture, and realize you can make an exception.
That watermelon level is so clever, I love the ingenuity of the solution and the level of work put into this game. You can definitely tell hard work and love was put into every level.
The issue with the watermelon level is that you can cheese it. You can just sort of wedge it against the wall and then it takes long enough to unstick that you can run over and take a photo of it before it rolls off. I did not come up with the intended solution in my playthrough of the game
@@thenarwhalmage that's a problem with the game in general cause of how the mechanic works it's just as likely the player will find an unintended solution as an intended one I've completed a few levels in really janky ways that are obviously not intended but they worked
I feel like we definitely need a sequel game with much harder puzzles (Although if you've played this game all the way through, you know it's really more of a story than a thoroughbred puzzle game). It does lend itself to speedrunning really well, though; So many levels can be hard cheesed because the camera is so powerful.
I'm not sure about a sequel given the story but a level editor would be great
The levels are super creative and have great game mechanics but yeah, it feels like they give way too much leeway and freedom and really point you in the right direction to solve.
The mechanics do make the player extremely powerful though, so it would also be hard to limit the player effectively without becoming invasively restricting.
@@taryth. I think the last few levels of the game show off how restrictive they have to get to force an intended solution and it's nowhere near as fun as the rest of the game to me
This game feels amazing for youtube content.
Loving this series. I hope that more and more mechanics start getting used together as the game carries on. Looking forward to the next video!
Loving viewfinder so far, and the new out ro screen just fits in so well with your channel. It’s like it’s always been there. Another one of Tyler’s posts to make my day.
21:27 A-ha! I get it! It's like the game is goading you. Like, it's saying "take on me!" Also, you solved the puzzle so fast, you didn't even get to see the two angry motorcyclists that show up and try to smack you with a monkey wrench.
World 4 was definitely my favorite, just in how many optional puzzles there were, it felt like half the optional levels were there.
Huge props to the editor, the editing has been on point for the last few videos
i like that theres more of a visual component to these sound puzzles. had to google the guide for the witness sound puzzles
Woah I was not expecting this many unique new mechanics 😮
Amazing.
i love the cat and his reaction to it 😊
"hi cat"
the last puzzle was incredible, i love that solution
You know, I hope Viewfinder gets to be on the outro card in the future
the filter and illusion puzzles are definitely my favorites in the whole game
Perfect video to start off my birthday
Happy Birthday!
love waiting till 5am everyday just for this
love these vids, seems like a really cool game
I'm genuinely in awe at the quality of the puzzles in this game 😮
that was an amazing transition at the start, props to the editor!
This game is 10/10. Super fun to watch.
Wasn't sure of this game from the demo, but loving it now!
God I love watching this game, it seems so well designed and the art is impeccable
This puzzle is only second to the beep puzzle in the looker
great video!
This is a sick game and I feel like Tyler is pretty good at it, and the editing helps cut out dead time, so I'm never frustrated waiting for him to find the solution
The vibes on this game are IMPECCABLE ✨
I can’t get over how GOOD this game is
WOAH! THE NEW END CARD LOOKS SO COOL!
The editing is getting more entertaining by the day
That watermelon puzzle is my new favorite.
"Oh telescope! not pointing at the sun, disapointing" 6:16
Whoa, an opening reference to Napoleon Dynamite! Awesome!
Amazing pictures!
Awesome!
Now we thinking with portals!
Amazing gameplay
This game was even better than I thought.
I really hope they add a level editor and a place to access levels other people have made.
This game is amazing
i love this game
1:18 Editor is a man of culture.
Tyler, I love your videos and mustache
Will you play Bilattice? It is a crazy puzzle game that was released yesterday but I wouldn't be surprised if you already know about it because Artless (creator of understand and other games) promoted it somewhat and was a playtester
7:34 This one had both me and my friend question our intelligence. Such a simple solution but we both just autopiloted into picking up the film instantly
22:27 Was there a level skipped? I think there should be another "portal" level right in between the two that were shown
I speed ran this game in like an hour, it was really good I enjoyed it a lot
yo, new ending screen looks very nice
I can tell Tyler has been working out because he no longer looks like a bean like when he played the witness
Haven't even watched it but you gotta love some Aliensrock!
This game is as revolutionary as the original portal
the watermelon puzzle was actually sick
There's a video here on youtube by Useless Game Dev about making a shader for a game that looks like the drawing style of Moebius, and man I feel like that shader would be perfect for a camera filter in this game
“Well, everything’s optional, but this isn’t.”

15:35 the Obelisk of Knowledge!
Hi
I feel like you could make a bridge to teleporter if you took a picture from a low perspective to make the gaps disappear. it's almost there @17:36
That’s not how the photos work, there will still be gaps the same size no matter the perspective of the photo
THis game isn't Superliminal
i am upset he didn’t see the scream photo
The game really gave you a companion cube there. Hope it doesnt suffer the same fate as in Portal.
I should go to bed… but what’s one more Aliensrock video.
7:25 I think the layers are more like a cake or martini.
25:49 wtf i never expected slicing something to become a mechanic.
1:15 Tyler continuing to identify as a cat
15:24 Tyler, no! Leave that for Matt when he gets to this point!
23:56 I think you missed a collectable there
I thought physics based 3D perspective puzzle game is going to be too finicky to reason. Oh how wrong I was. This game is such a pleasant surprise to overthrow my stereotype to this sub genre!
This game made me buy some Fox's Jam'n' Cream rasberry & vanilla biscuits
It seems like 'blueprint' concept for blue things can not be printed. Interesting.
The sound system works just like Minecraft's skulk sensors and shriekers.
Neat
Now that a new Talos principal is coming out, are you going to be playing the first one
I did the watermelon one without slicing it. It was really really hard and the melon was at the edge of the photo
6:16 looker reference?
This is a very yes game tuler makes me lose sleep watching
2:08 green cat
21:27 I'd call that an a-ha moment.
It would be nice if on the camera screen, the blue stuff was invisible so you could see the final photo instead of having to guess
It's a shame we didn't get to see what was behind the DrawPad :P
8:05 i just figured it pit. You have to always have the film be in the foto so you can make infinite fotos.
pho🥺
Watermelon filter gonna haveme acting up
No way bro linked the witness sound puzzles
I like how when he finds a sketch pad, he immediately draws a pp
Phantom pics and batterys
I feel like he should've messed with that old-school computer picture more.
i think tyler loves optional challenge I'm not sure though
you should try the game "while true: learn()"
you should give panorama a go
So cool that they included fruit ninja in this game
21:28 literally take on me
The only thing I dislike about this game is how easy it is compare to other puzzle games
i was watching my friend play this day 1 and he got stuck on the watermelon puzzle for A While
7:42 can you take a photo of the film?
2:08 why is the cat floating????
