I believe the intended solution to the last puzzle you did was to turn the photo of the battery upside down so it falls out of the backdropification area around it.
Or just place the photo above you so the battery just falls on your head

Breaking reality is cool and all, but the real winning mechanic here is petting the cat.
Any game that you can pet a cat in is instantly 5x better
They should have an achievement for petting every cat in the game.

I kind of want this game to have a NG+ mode where you just start with the camera and infinite film, because I feel like that could make for a very fun speedrun.

I'm pretty sure the cat has the same voice actor as the doctor from superliminal. They really like being in reality breaking puzzle games!

This game looks like a speedrunner's dream
Massive control over the game environment, encouraged and fully functional unconventional behaviors and solutions, no rng (besides physics), permanent ability to rewind any mistake so it only costs you a second and no true softlocks exist
You could also literally tas this game because of the rewind feature
Whenever Tyler sees a balloon, he just goes into war flashbacks

@@antoniosmith2033I think he was making a reference to a certain infamous dictator from the 20th century whom nearly took over all of Europe because earlier in life he had gotten kicked out of art school. Who knows, the world would probably be at peace and technology would be 20 years behind what it is today if said dictator got accepted into art school.

This game is wild. The creativity in this game is unmatched. The fact you can break reality is cool & different for a game. Your possibilities are endless in this matrix. Glad you played this game because i would have never heard about/seen that it existed.
I love how while others are... let's say "less appreciating"... about the conversation and the writing here, Tyler simply just play along with it.
Cat is a great part of the game. Others need to wake up to the greatness of cat

i hate these games personally cuz i really dont like the distorted geometry thing- that makes me uncomfortable, but iv gotta be honest these kinds of games are also probably the coolest to watch speedruns of. i mean not only is the concept of the game itself interesting... *but the glitches HAVE to be absolutely fucked-*

This game now very much reminds me of when you played superliminal. The simulation setting, the environment tricks, the perspective puzzle solving

The problem with putting fake walls in your game is that you can never go back to the player not looking for fake walls and they may spend hours looking for the invisible wall in an easy puzzle, so I’m curious to see if/how this game handles this problem
the way they did it is by calling those the illusion levels, and granting them the achievement after beating those levels
I would love to see this game in VR, holy, would that be an experience
one that would probably make 90% of the players vomit and im all for it

8:19 I can't believe I didn't figure out this simple solution, I solved it by putting the first picture above me so the teleporter would be upright, then I precisely placed the second photo so I could climb up onto the architecture and carefully parkour to the top where the teleporter is. I spent so long figuring out and executing that solution, while the real solution was so obvious lol
I'm guessing the solution to the last puzzle was supposed to be placing the picture upwards, so that the battery falls down
This vid showcases my definition of Aliensrock: you come for the cool puzzle games and Tyler's impressive understanding of concepts but you stay for the creativity and the fun exploits!

The last puzzle.. if you approach the image it turns into a drawing. If you just go to the camera and take the picture it stays as a battery and you can pick it up and use it. That one kept me thinking awhile last night.

As soon as I saw that you could pet the cat, the game moved up multiple steps in great puzzle games.
It's like Superliminal with spacetime manipulation instead of scaling up and down
That would be a crazy game to hide secrets and lore in, hope the devs did something like that

For some reason, 3-d objects in this game can be one filter or the other. So if you take a picture of something with a different filter, it just converts it to the camera's filter without taking into account the previous filter. That's why two negative filters don't add to a positive, and why photocopied things don't get more and more deep-fried.
This whole jumping boost section after 13:40 made me thinking... So in theory you can get a nice view angle where you don't need to jump to get boosts... How much can you stack and how far will you jump then? And can you fly to the mountains in the background this way?

There was a study some scientists ran about cats and color vision. They would put out boxes of varying colors, and one would have food. After a few hundred tries, the cats would be able to pick the correct bowl every time.
The conclusion was, cats CAN see color -- they just don't care.

For the last one, place the picture upwards the battery will fall of the pedestal, the pedestal is what turns the battery into an illusion as you can see from the glitch that happened
This game is pretty and cool. But the idea, to add the effect on top of the effect, ie add more warm/cold or change from negative to positive, would be a cool addition to the game
