- my Quest Pro got the v69 update so here's a recap! the Quest 3 is still stuck in v68 though despite trying to force update...

spatial audio is definitely working; I've noticed it for a couple weeks now (v69 PTC). It's pretty cool

Spatial Audio seems strange to me in this sense. if you have loads of sound-making windows up I get it I guess. dont know why youd do that but sure. but for the average person it seems like your basically taking the sound being on you/exactly around your head, and moving it to be in front of you like a laptop. isnt the full suroundsound a strict benefit of having headphones (or vr audio next to your ears) on? just seems like it would be a direct downgrade. Spatial Audio in games surely makes sense but I dont really get it here
I hate the new universal menu .. Everything is just to small ..
I know you can go full screen but the the taskbar at the bottom seems to far away, The keyboard is awful and pops up in your face. Overall I'm not impressed ..
Give us a Classic option .. That would be cool.
Something is up with your spatial audio. its VERY distinct on mine even with the stock speaker. so much so i disabled cuz i was anoyed getting audio from behind my head while doing other things.

I’m actually relieved to hear it’s just me! It would be a shame if it was barely noticeable. Does it always work with the browser for you? Also, did you get the Oceanarium?
@@rzival I havent checked but i dont think ive seen the new theme. some features lack a few days behind for me it seems. last i tried it was with the youtube app. maybe some apps dont support it yet.

Still not got it pretty rubbish when did it come out it’s now the 16th absolutely rubbish
about a week ago. My Quest 3 also doesn’t have the update yet, but my Quest Pro does. The slow rollout is 👎🏻

Oceanarium has to be installed from the meta store like a normal app.
I got spatial audio, and it works perfectly, though I didn't get the Meta AI feature yet.
2:30 the apple audio gave me goousebumps because how well it was sounding, and this is only a record. Wow!
You can also be on v68 and see seamless multitasking (at least on a Quest 2, I don't have a Quest 3). More and more updates like that seem to not actually be firmware-release-specific.
No headphones needed to hear the dramatic difference in spatial audio, it's weird that wouldn't even try it without. I really hope they let us disable this on a per window basis, as it could be really distracting and annoying depending on what kind of content you are consuming, and for what purpose.
Rolling out all the features of an update separately is so stupid. I'm surprised they don't roll out the change in the number that you see in your settings, too. "I'm on V69 now but I have to wait a few weeks for the number to go up in my settings from 68 to 69. I haven't gotten that feature yet" 😂

Didn't need to put on Headphones, could hear the difference through the loudspeakers from my laptop 😉
i hope you meant the vision pro part. If it's the Quest part then i might be going deaf haha
@@rzival Had to check it again...yes you're right. The Quest part sounds mono to me, but the Vision Pro part was a moving experience... ;

The quest 3 liquid debris message bug is still a very big issue. Games not playable...
from what it sound in the video the spatial audio seemed to work (maybe it's just a bad perception due to the fact that my brain know where it should be located)
the backlight option is named "local dimming" I see it in your video
yes, deleting apps won't work, at least I don't see the option to do it

Someone needs to do a video about why every VR UA-camr has turned into the "let's repost Luna's tweets show". Nobody has ever tried to answer: who is Luna, and why should I take them seriously? At this point, I've been ignored for so long that I have no reason to take Luna seriously as a source. According to publicly available info, they are a rando on Twitter who popped out of nowhere.
I actually have a video on that exact topic where I interviewed Luna, because I wondered the same thing. Long story short they’re a VR enthusiast who tends to get a hold of and share leaks or certain news ahead of time, and most of them would prove true, and so their credibility just started growing. But it’s a valid comment (criticism?) on the current landscape of VR updates/news on UA-cam, and that includes myself.

Anyone having issues with their Quest Pro after this new update? There's been a pass-through glitch I just want to make sure I'm not the only one who has it
what glitch exactly is happening? my Pro has v69 but i haven't used it in a few days, so I can try to check if I got the same issue as you

I'm on quest 2 and I don't like the new update with the 3 screens and zoomed out. Is there a way to go back the old version with just one window or is this permanent?
you can close out the other windows and only have one if that's what your asking, but i believe the ability to have 3 open is permanent for everyone
@@rzival So there's no button in the settings of where you can turn it off or on?
I can't believe that a big company like Meta handle update roll outs so haphazardly, but everything I've encountered with the Quest has been so why should this be any different. We really need a company to come along, who know what they're doing, and show them how it's done.
It’s not an issue of the Quest 3, but I have a problem in BigScreen when it comes to Bluetooth connections. IDK why but the sound is lacking and stuttering, but I have no problems when I plug in cable earphones.

I only want a shutdown option included in the menu bar. I felt like an old-school way to shut down the new generation VR headset with the available way. Like DID WITH MY Nokia 1100 IN 2004.

apparently it’s only noticeable in really dark scenes, kind of like a more tame version of the Quest Pro’s local dimming. I haven’t tested it myself though
I dont like the new menu system, I liked one menu right in front of me, now theres 3 that open whenever I click anything. Also, Quest game optimizer is busted now, since update can't create new custom profiles since the menu screen won't scroll down. Also after update had to factory reset since it was doing endless boot loop when starting
I think most people like the update features. They just need to patch the bugs.
did the factory reset fix anything? It does suck that random things break when updates happen
@rzival My headset keeps saying it is updating when I power it off, but when I power it on and check the settings, it's on the same version, and nothing has changed. Is v69 suppose to be on every headset already?
@@kcchiefsproductions8687I thought everyone's was uldated, but maybe not since it's a regional rollout. I know there's tutorials on how you can update from metas website
@@rzival no, still can't use QGO profiles creator, but contacted the developer on reddit, he said he's flooded with messages about the same issue, and allot of problems after v69 update, but he's on vacation and will work on getting fixes when he gets home
Anyone else notice a graphics quality drop in Virtual Desktop after upgrading to V69?
I just heard about this today for the first time. Looks like some people with v69 have this resolution issue

nope. My quest 3 is stuck at v68 as well, I only have v69 on my Quest Pro. Meta does these slow rollouts where you kinda just have to wait until the update comes to you 😐
Here for who? 69 for Quest 2 is not there yet. I hate to sand this to pieces. For some there is for others not. Either for all or for none. Hope he fixes 68 which is full of so many defects.
yeah I wish it would just be available for all instead of a slow rollout. My Quest 3 doesn’t have v69 yet either
@@rzival Reminds me of Horizon World. It's been 4-5 years and it's still available in a handful of countries. A complete mockery of people.
Approximately 3 days ago The Meta AI stopped working and some of us also started having trouble with the controllers randomly crapping out and you have to take the batteries out and put them back in yes I already tried new batteries for the sake of the argument I've also twice gotten an error message saying the charge port has been deactivated in the software when I go to turn on the quest headset it would start making this Bing Bing Bing and the message starts flashing on the screen about the charge port has been deactivated in the software I don't know what any of these issues are being caused by first thing I noticed was The Meta AI stopped working about 3 days ago this all took place after some v68 update that I received about 3 days ago I still haven't received the 69Can't seem to find anybody talking about these issues and there's nowhere that I know of to officially report them
oh wow, I hadn’t heard of this, I hope it’s resolved soon unlike like that pesky liquid/debris error certain people kept getting a few months back
@@rzival Roller issue started about two or three weeks ago and it's software related. To the other stuff started more recently and i don't know where to get information about if more people are having the problem or what but it's software related whatever it is
This video just made it dawn on me how frustrating it would be to be a UA-camr trying to do a review on a new Meta OS update since the only thing you actually get right away with any of their updates, is the new number.
and v70 PTC will probably be here already by time all v69 features are available 🤦🏻♂️

Did they fix battery drain?
only battery-related updated I’m aware of is the content adaptive backlight control
dont think much can be done software wise to majorly improve the battery.
No one comes close to Apple when it comes to software!
I’m watching this video on an iPhone 13 and the spatial audio worked through the phone speakers 🫨
