    I was struggling for 2 days with the hawks and was gonna give up until I stumbled upon your video and my!! You're a fricking amazing!
    Here's what I did:
    1. I didn't wait for days and just tamed as many high level ovis as possible, leveled up their health, and brought em with me.
    2. This needs a little bit of effort but in case that you run out of ovis, you can kill smaller-mid sized dinos like parasaurs, pteranodon, and stego, kill em, and drag the body to your hawk next to the cage as well.
    (p.s: would really be great if they have higher level because higher level dinos often (although not always) have higher health than the lower ones and that's what we're looking for)
    I did this with my tribe mate with 1 on the watch and another one on the hunt. We ended up taming 4 fjorhawsk hahaha.
    All in all very nice tutorial! Truly worked like a charm and subscribed instantly.
    Really looking forward to binge watch your videos. So informative and straightforward.

    It's kind of moot for the moment with most people on ASA now, but for for the folks still playing ASE I found a cheeky trick on servers where clipping is enabled. Slaughter your sheep, and drop a tent so it clips the sheep in half . This creates a situation where you can still 'hit' the sheep with harvesting tools but won't actually harvest anything from it - meaning you can just keep hitting it endlessly until the body decays on it's own. Fjordhawks will do the same - they'll peck endlessly, getting taming progress without destroying the sheep (just like they did with the rock elemental before they patched it out) allowing you to tame any number of hawks off one sheep until the body decays.

    i been breeding my sheep since the official release. i have 105 points into base health. really good for desmodus and fjordhawk. average 12k health on them. also the moschops is a cheaper alt as they are everywhere. but the hardest thing is isolating them from the 200 other birds eating your bait. but a really tough piece of mutton they all seem to tame fine and actually get slot locked as they cant consume all the sheep. the cage tip is something i didnt think of as i forget about the immunity they got for a hit.

      I usually use Snow Owl’s Freeze to takeout their barriers, net the one I want, then slaughter an Ovis so they’ll all land to feed on it, shotgun them and repeat until all of the low-levels are dead. Ovis requires zero care to raise once you have a Maewing, once you have a breeding pair, you will have unlimited amount of them, so I usually don’t mind burning through them in order to get things done.

    Great video, knew most of it already, the cage is a new one for me, never taught of that. I however have one question, how do you use the sanguine elixir, since it's a passive tame, I can't seem to use it on passive tames.

    • @ladyteruki
      @ladyteruki 2 роки тому

      As a serial tamer of Chalicotheriums I can assure you the elixir works on passive tames, but you have to be close to the point of touching them in order to consume the elixir. Which um... comes with its own challenges XD The only problems I've encountered with the elixir so far happened with underwater tames.

    • @Crabbytron
      @Crabbytron  2 роки тому

      When you do a knock out tame you have to have kibble in inventory and then you can use elixir. With the passive tamed do it as soon as it’s had the first bite. You have to be really really close to the creature the elixir will kinda light up in the hot at when you can use it

    • @Wastelander2281
      @Wastelander2281 2 роки тому

      @@Crabbytron that's very true but honestly I'm not about exact calculations and such I just really wanted to see if the phiomia is good enough when the ovis are hard to find early game you know what I mean?

    i did all of it and yet by my own hand i shot the exact bird i was taming instead of a random one that came out of nowhere, yes i had 2 ovis only even tough i could have bringed 2 more and 2 grown spinos, i had a desmodus yet i forgot to do elixir, but still, it felt bad to see a 96% progress go down in one shot

      @Crabbytron the cage method didn't do well for me so I tried without it, yk waited a little before feeding to make sure no other birds where close, and then one appeared out of nowhere

      @Crabbytron since I'm already asking, by do you know by any chance if baby wyverns might help with the taming? I know it's brutal but I've snatched and hatched way too many low level wyverns and now they just take too many criopods and too much space in my fridge

      You should be able to ge the slaughter option if you have a sword or oickaxe in your hand and are standing close enough. I know there was an issue when the fjordhawk was released but then it was fixed

      @@Crabbytron I've been doing it the old fashioned way having them follow me around and feed. It takes forever and for some reason if the Hawk I'm taming gets to close to me or my Dino it triggers something with the Hawk and taming goes back to zero, I have no idea why it does that.
