I think the desmodus pipes are there to suck up the blood from wherever the desmodus attacks creatures. Also, the sanguine can be crafted in it's inventory like the lasso on the equus, and it gives a flat taming/imprint percentage.
Fun fact for anyone who didn't know this cuz I found this out myself for all the structures like the houses and castles in the map you can actually place down structures like a bed without placing down a structure that you made
Desmodus taming method is almost like the bloodstalker however you’ll be dropped after each feed, bring 200 blood packs since these bats drink them like crazy, once it’s been tame you’ll be dropped, bring parachutes because desmodus tends to fly around pits and falls in caves. Oh and it’s able to create blood packs and you need 200 BP to make the elixir!
For the speed buff on the andrew, you wanna hold right stick down for a second to get the speed buff, and click it for a millisecond to switch to turret mode if the saddle is on. :) Also the slide boost lets you keep your speed going after a drift, if you try doing the drift before it's recharged, you slow right down.
Played on the map today, and everything is amazing about it! Was just traveling around and also spotted r-snow owls! New favorite map of mine already haha!

@@MythicAce218 I feel like that may be changed soon. It seems too counterintuitive to give us everything on one map, then make us go to the other maps to use any of it. They likely just overlooked the engrams. Even Scorched items are locked, and they are never locked on any of the free maps.
I don't know if this was on the modded version, but I found a cave with a lot of names inside of it, carved in rocks and with statues, etc, and your name was with a gallimimus statue! Thought that was a really cool find.
For the andrew its r3 if i remember correctly. Also the fjordhawk doesn't care about the weight you are holding i had a black box of cliff platforms and he brought all of them
I do wish that with the Fjordur hawk that when you woke up from dying there would be a couple seconds where you can watch it flying to you with your stuff instead of it just immediately giving it to you before you are even out of the bed.
I was really surprised with the hawk, I was really expecting it to be the case of you have to wait for it to fly to you or it would teleport to you as long as it had enough weight. Good job wildcard 👏
The neatest feature of the fjordhawk is this: 1. Set up an outpost with a bed near oil spawn/across map/whatever. Gather resources there, have the hawk with you. 2. Weight cap yourself, then die and respawn at main base. 3. Enjoy your free teleported loot! You do need to bring the hawk back at some point, or die again and have it re-teleport to the outpost. In this way you can cross the map! At least in how it looks to work atm. Very strong in PVE for sure, makes distance farming a breeze and is kinda like having a stryder and dedi! It's like a low-tech dedi storage :D
I’ve been playing this almost all day! I love this map!!! Also I love that people still say “Jonathan” I believe the fjord hawk has some sort of a bonding system but wow I had no idea about the death recovery stuff! I’m going to absolutely love this little dude! I’m also super excited to have my own Fenrir! Edit: I was just messing around as I was playing and I thought about how with the Fjord Hawk, just killing yourself be a good way to get back home. Then I thought would it work with fast travel?
Fun fact! Irl Andrewsarchus has the largest skull of any carnivorous land mammal ever found- making it likely to be the largest carnivorous land mammal ever! So it’s size in Ark is likely not exaggerated. Though unfortunately it is only know from a singular specimen- it’s iconic skull!
With the hawk, it'll bring you stuff when you die, but what about when you fast travel? It would be a huge game changer to not actually have to drop your stuff
Huh... So you can basically load up on stuff until you can't move anymore with the Fjordhawk, pop a respawn candy and the Fjordhawk will instantly teleport all your mats back to you... That sounds really nice. Fly over to a metal spawn on a Ptery, load up to the point that you can't move anymore, cryo the Ptery, pop the respawn candy and boom, you got all of your stuff back at your base lickity split!

Also I think Syntac forgot to mention about the Sanguine elixir of the desmodus. It takes 200 blood packs to make and if you consume it near a tranqued dino or baby dino you'll get around 30% taming/imprinting.
The desmodus is my new best friend when it comes to collecting spoiled meat! I was just breeding and killing the vultures for spoiled meat, but now it's so easy now to just kill wild creatures with the desmodus!
The Desmodus also has a night vision. When your dismounted go up to it and hold [triangle Playstation], [Y for Xbox], and [F for PC] to go into the circle menu and itll be in there to turn on night vision.
Two things on Desmodus you missed: You can long press E before mounting (or R while mounted) and select life steal, which is the reason those tubes run down his legs. Whatever you're carrying will be leeched :) At night, once again long pressing E before mounting (remove tek helmet it's buggy) or R while mounted, you can select night vision, which is like thermal vision. Not like the Owl, full on red.
The bat is perfect for recon, stealth flying, imagine flying over someone’s base to spy on them while invisible, and if they chase you just dive and lose them
On console, to speed up with the andrewsarchus it's holding down the right stick, also with the slide boost it's just being max speed whilst turning around you, Hope this helped ^^ (i'll be editing this if i find more stuff)

There's a steam mod that does that, but it sucks if you don't have the game on Steam. I agree though, all flyers should get fast dive. It doesn't need to be like the owl or griffin, just fly down faster.
What the Andrewsarchus needs for taming is a combination of Honey and trust taming. You throw the honey down, then while it is distracted you mount up. Then you gotta press either a or d, depending on which way it wants to turn, and tame it up before it bucks you off.
Btw, you can bring the andrewsarchus into the fenrir arena. I’m not sure how affective they are but I can imagine it’d be pretty insane if you had an entire tribe riding these things, gunning down fenrir.

If anyone complains about the Andrewsarchus being inaccurate, first off this is ARK what else did you expect, also the walking underwater thing is creative since they are related to modern day hippos and they practically walk underwater as well.
hey syn, the fjordhawk didnt take the implant because it took it just before you died, you see it shows "removed" on the items, which doesnt happen when you die normally, then when it brought back the contents of your inventory it went back for your implant
the andrewsarcus definitely looks like a contender for the best caving creature, who needs a barry for a sea cave when u can melt anything before it gets near you lol

I know im a bit late but the slide boost from the Andrewsarchus is when you take a sharp turn you wont lose the maximum running speed (when you take a sharp turn while the slide boost is on cooldown, you will start slow again)
fun fact: the only fossil found of the Andrewsarchus is a skull mesuring 83 cm x 56 cm. From its size, scientists approximated the size of the whole animal to 6 feet high at the shoulder and 12 feet long, making the Andrewsarchus the biggest meat-eating land mammal to ever exist.
The Fenrir not being breedable makes sense as you can only get one from clearing the final boss...ppl would just be selling the babies instead of doing the boss fight after getting a single mating pair.
The Andrewsarchus seems to half the ammo weight if it's in the dino inventory so you can stack more ammo! Also for anyone using the Upgrade station mod i can up the quality of the saddle and that will up the turret damage but none of the items you craft to increase stats work on the damage, only the armor.
The andrewsarchus saddle is insane. It completely protects the rider, you are immune to everything, even radiation! I don't think it was intentional, super busted but so fun.
Hey @Syntac, no clue if legit anyone knows about this, but I found it out. If you get a camera, and press your (reload) key, you switch to an "Andrewsarchus mode", and when you take a picture, that picture will now be in every Andrew you ride. But, if you want some normal painting, and not the games semi crappy camera pictures, you can save a normal canvas painting, then go to your files, and rename said file to `AndrewsarchusSaddle.pnt`. This seems to be the most unique, and special dinosaur addition ever. lol
I have a question I havnt tested yet, does the Andrewsaerchus saddle protect against rider attacks like from buzzards, micro raptors, and such? I mean it is pretty much an enclosed box your sitting in.
Just found a bug with desmodus that kinda makes him busted ngl, if u look down and hold shift and a/d it tricks the game into thinking your divebombing but instead of going down you just start zooming left/right

The draculae spawns in the swamp cave in which I found them to be most common but they will pick you up and suck your blood and they will start to tame
Just for everyone who did not know if you go into a Desmodeses behavior settings you can choose it to use night vision during the night. It illuminates other creatures and the map. It's very useful.

bloodstalker will leave you dangling in air too, at least from my experience

A little disappointed about no breeding for Fenrir just because I was excited to see crazy colour mutations
Probably so they can keep it a trophy creature since you can’t actually tame it

So, i found out that when you beat the Fenrirsúlfr, the boss, you get a Fenrir, i only did alpha to see the boss, and that got me a 225 tamed Fenrir

Hawk:You can send it to kill stuff while they are low enough, and it will automatically harvest most corpses around the creature.

Another thing about the fenrir, tamed direwolves will get a buff when one is near.

I'd you hold X on xbox Square on PlayStation you will bring up a wheel with lets you enable life steal while carrying and night vision

Syntac you can drain enemy's hp with the desmodus when you pick them up also it has night vision
Fjord hawk is broken for pvp since now you can carry your op gear without the fear of loosing it! Good for farming too

Spinos are actualy able to swim in real life. well if they were alive that’s the point for the fin on their back

Fjordhawks can teleport across the realms, Odin gave them passage through the bifrost I guess lol.
Use can use night vision at night from like 22-4, it doesn't use up any stam either.
You can set it by holding Y (xbox) and selecting night vision
with the fjordhawk, it will also bring back loot to where you Spawn if you die while the hawk is on your shoulder, very useful

The Andrewsarchus seems to half the ammo weight if it's in the dino inventory so you can stack more ammo! Also for anyone using the Upgrade station mod i can up the quality of the saddle and that will up the turret damage but none of the items you craft to increase stats work on the damage, only the armor.
the hawk can pick up any body loot at all its pretty nice for pop if you die and people are on your loot you can send him in
The bat with enough bloodpacks can also create a potion that you feed to a dino your taming to apply a additional bonus %
Weren't they going to add the Carcharodontosaurus as well?
FYI Fjordhawk will also bring your stuff if you fast travel via beds so it's a cheap and dirty teleporter
Fun fact the andrewsarchus has technically related to the hippos so it's basically a hippo that evolved to look like a dog
The andrewsarchus saddle is insane. It completely protects the rider, you are immune to everything, even radiation! I don't think it was intentional, super busted but so fun.
Hey @Syntac, no clue if legit anyone knows about this, but I found it out.
If you get a camera, and press your (reload) key, you switch to an "Andrewsarchus mode", and when you take a picture, that picture will now be in every Andrew you ride.
But, if you want some normal painting, and not the games semi crappy camera pictures, you can save a normal canvas painting, then go to your files, and rename said file to `AndrewsarchusSaddle.pnt`.
This seems to be the most unique, and special dinosaur addition ever. lol
The sprint boost of the Andrew would work wonders on the Equus

C on Pc is going to be the crouch button on Xbox which I think is the joystick on the right (the lower one) just press it down.
R3 the right anolauge is normally the special move buttoned and probably the speed boost.

I have a question I havnt tested yet, does the Andrewsaerchus saddle protect against rider attacks like from buzzards, micro raptors, and such? I mean it is pretty much an enclosed box your sitting in.
Why is the map so cold? Every time I spawn in on a beach I already have the freezing affect. So annoying
Just found a bug with desmodus that kinda makes him busted ngl, if u look down and hold shift and a/d it tricks the game into thinking your divebombing but instead of going down you just start zooming left/right

For those who dont know, you can drift on the andrew by turning quickly. The equiv to C on controller would be the crouch button.

Ok so I don't know if anyone commented this but apparently fjourhawk also have another broken ability.It can make you teleport between beds WITHOUT dropping your inventory.Yup,you heard it correctly.It fcking powercrept Tek teleporter lmao
They should make like a big flying creature that attaches to your back like hold on to you with its claws and then flies it can fly you can fly it can fly you around that would be cool.
According to GG Fizz the Fenrir isn't even tameable. you get one as a reward for beating the final boss only

EDIT: how do you tame the draculae?
The draculae spawns in the swamp cave in which I found them to be most common but they will pick you up and suck your blood and they will start to tame

Just for everyone who did not know if you go into a Desmodeses behavior settings you can choose it to use night vision during the night. It illuminates other creatures and the map. It's very useful.
