    Would you try a few layers of boiled linseed instead of just mineral spirits or armour seal? Which one is more natural? My linseed oil has worked best for me over the years when there's no epoxy on it, but I haven't tried armour seal.

    If the slab of wood is somewhat green, do you follow the same process and that will keep it from cracking?

      I am fairly certain that it will crack if you use green wood. Getting the wood to 10% moisture (max) is what you should be using.

    I have done very similar with Woodglut designs.
