breathwork in therapy changed my life and changed my entire nervous system. in session, i would breathe so deeply, I'd feel kind of high and just lost in the sensations of my body and my brain.
Thank you so much for this wonderful content! To the person reading this: You are who you are. You are a gorgeous and beautiful creation. You are a masterpiece. You are who you are. Yessss I just found out Breath is a drug and this resonates so much. Sivananda Yoga focuses on specific types of breathing and it’s like a soul work out. Loving this and can’t wait to finish watching all your videos 😊😊😊
Thank you, dear Nicole! So happy to see you on UA-cam, too. Do this with consistency, and you gonna be surprised with the results. Your first video is great, very helpful. And I like that it doesn't look like a pro production. You exude authenticity in everything you do (and say). Why not on YT, too? Congratulations, and good luck to this part of your journey. So grateful to be a part of.
Thanks for breaking this down. I've heard of belly breathing, but never understood its significance and never included it in my practice. I'll now be working on making this a natural part of my day.
I have been learning to become a mindfulness teacher.....and here breathing is so important too.....but you really explained it in a way that I understood it much better.! Thank you!
I’m so excited you started a UA-cam channel I love your IG content as an MFT student and I look forward to listening to any content you make here and sharing it with fellow clinicians!
First saw you on Women of Impact, remembered you mentioning breathwork, searched on UA-cam and BOOM! Here's a super simple video explaining how to begin. Thank you so much! Love and Light to you.
This is an incredible video so powerful. I like you to keep the video on the bite site. We have been doing breathwork for a while, and the results are fantastic. In our last video, we show how my skeptical dad tries breathwork, and the result was out of this world.
Thanks so much! One of my clients from my Hypnotherapy Practice on Maui turned me on to your channel. Now I'm sending my clients who are just beginning breathwork here for additional intro work after they do one of my in-office sessions or one of our active imagery, breathwork, or chakra sessions on our channel. Mahalo!
I just found your channel and i am so excited and thankful for all of your content. I am starting with this video and working to the most recent. I am so excited wow
I've been following you from the beginning on insta, and just finally got on you tube today and subscribed! So happy to have videos, I learn better that way. You are amazing and your generosity to self healers is epic. We love you. Now going back to more breathwork!
Wonderful first video! I was trying to do the 10 breath first and that was too hard. This reminds me of pranayama and kundalini a bit too, similar practice. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with love.💜
Thank you for this have been following on insta and been doing the future self journaling. Wanted to know how and meaning of the breathe work! Love your work❤️
Love this so much! Am I right to call this "breathing intentionally"? I feel like this kind of breathing happens when I do meditation, when I notice and am aware of the breathing instead of just let it be.
hey i have a question that is very important for me and it's about your breathwork. i did deep belly breathing for the last two weeks and i recognized that i felt pain and heaviness in my belly after i did this breathwork. so i assume that this is because i have trauma but i don't know how to release that trauma. thank you for everything and i hope you answer❤️
The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are usually both active. Less like a brake and gas pedal it's more like a balance where if one is being strongly activated, the other is being actively suppressed. This is different from the brake and gas pedal model. That model suggests that when one is on the other is off which is simply not true! It's oversimplifying the mechanisms of the nervous system. It also provides a possible explanation as to why access coping mechanisms (that I assume are mediated by parasympathetic) is especial hard when we need them most (when the sympathetic system has us feeling activated/triggered). I hope this makes sense, I'd love to also hear you thoughts :)
Nice short video. Thank you. I have a question: What about the period between an exhalation and the next inhalation? Does it make sense to also pause there and keep the breath out for a while?
Why does this exercise make it feel like I'm breathing through heavy sludge for a bit afterwards? Its almost like I'm feeling just how beaten down my lungs are from smoking?? (I quit about a month ago)
I have a quick question, do you have a time you recommend we do this breathwork? I started doing it before bed and for the past two days I've had some of the most vivid dreams (more like nightmares highlighting some of my biggest fears!) I've experienced. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!
Nightmares are very healing for the mind. I've been having vivid dreams and I wake up with the sense my mind is being organized and it feels good! I read a book about this, it's very interesting.
@@LennisPerezTV sure! The book is called Thyroid Healing, by Anthony William, part IV of the book is calles Secrets of Sleep, and there's a chapter called 'Why bad dreams are good'. Maybe you'll feel inspired to look it up, there are lots of goodies in it! :)
@@CarolinaVecc Thank you for sharing the book, I will definitely look it up as I have been curious about hormones lately and the impact of their imbalance and health. I really appreciate you sending me the info!
Thanks for this information! I can already tell it will be extremely helpful. Do you have advice or information about doing this breathing exercise for people with lower lung power? I have a partially collapsed lung and it gets frustrating trying to change my breathing patterns.
Hi ! Do you have any regulations on being able to use your video, in like a side by side video, me practicing this, to show others what I do. This something that has helped me clear some of my acne.
No matter what I do, I cannot breathe into my belly. It just doesn't move :( How can I learn that. Using my hand as a guide doesn't work since my belly just doesn't move...
I'm confused as to why your belly expands. I can force my belly in and out, but my *lungs* - like yours - are in my _chest._ it makes sense surely that it's my chest that's going to see the most movement as my lungs fill with air, no? I'm aware of intercostal, diaphragmatic activity, but that's just a muscle to strengthen and control how you inhale and exhale, you're not breathing _from_ the belly, surely?
breathwork in therapy changed my life and changed my entire nervous system. in session, i would breathe so deeply, I'd feel kind of high and just lost in the sensations of my body and my brain.
Changed my life, literally 2 weeks into it and I can attack situations with a clearer, more mature approach. Thank you so much!
I lover her!!! Love it when Dr recognizes and uses these things instead of pushing freaking pills!!! Thanks doc!!
3:00 4-7-8 breath in 4, hold 7, exhale 8
The 3 first minutes are well worth watching in my opinion, in order to understand more about why this works instead of just what to do 🧘♂️

Is this breathwork considered meditation? Or do I have to meditation separately too?

How many reps should we do?
How many reps would you recommend just starting out? Ten or so?
when i do the breathe in, is it alright after my stomach is full of air if my chest then fills with air?
😂🙏❤️
I suggest add breath-work to massage like Lomi Lomi massage.
How long do you do breathe work for daily?
❤
How can this be modified when I don't feel I can follow holding for 7 and breathing out for 8?
how long should breathwork session last?
How long do we supposed to do it?
How much time is required to do it?

Hi how many reps of this breath we can do?
Why is this in 240p ma'am
