ive got his book(its funny and sometimes very sad) and he says his corner wouldnt shut up yelling instructions at him and he turned round to tell them to shut it,and the ref stopped it.but by then he was already getting beaten.and though i think Liston dived against Ali and Duran gave up against Leonard for reasons of owing money,i dont think Paul was at the stage to attract big betting.to be honest i think he just wasnt fit enough that night and had lost too much weight for the bout

called Harry Roberts, Three times cop killer or not, he was one of the best in the prison regardless of his crime.

If you hunt around on youtube, there is a documentary on him. What is odd is that he seems to NOT have had a devil upbringing. He lived at Lupset a few miles from here and the only issue seems to be that he argues with his father (all his life), who used to get physical. From that background he became world champion so he must have been a very special person. There are probably some people around who made a lot of money from him, when they should have helped him.

looking back at what happened with hind site, it was prison tactics, Paul hit me from behind to drop me and get it out of the way but it didn't work .having been hit in the face with house bricks and al sorts I was pretty good at taking punishment and had a good chin, and thick neck but no doubts what so ever in a boxing style match Paul would have out classed my self, so long as he could keep me from hitting him of course. he said your the only in the prison with any guts.

Check out the Gary Bryan video on on here. Lenny is talking to a wanna be. Even playing about and old he was a total animal. So fast for such a big lump. Lenny would have knocked Paul silly bully bollocks out in 20 seconds, and ten of those would have been the count. To be fair Paul could box, and had more finesse in the ring, but that really wouldn't have helped him in a toe to toe with Lenny (the Governor).

Cliff fields beat mc clean twice when he was washed up as a professional boxer in turn in his prime he was stopped in three rounds by Richard dunne who was only ever regarded as a small hall journey man by the boxing establishment although on his night he had a bit more ability than given credit for even in this company lenny mc cleans short comings would have been exposed sykes on the other hand did have a lot more talent when he was younger than all of them Joe frazier wanted as a sparing partner for the bugner fight but he was in the nick at the time when he fought gardener he was wasted as a top line fighter inactivity and a lack of top line experience exposed him
