People tend to forget that strongmen are athletes. And as athletes, moving to a different athletic sport does carry over: discipline, better learning of mechanical movements, and of course in this case the strength is out of the roof. Martial arts are not a role playing game, a strong character does not have a "reduced speed" gimmick. This dude will punch a new hole in your chest, fast, and probably some experienced fighters will see the punch coming but the base start that he has is huge. And also his sport has synergy with combat sports. This is a fearsome fighter indeed, give him more years for the fighting technique to be learnt and he will be even deadlier.
If Mariusz had more technical fighting skills he would be unbeatable, which actually makes what he did even more impressive imo. He's underrated/underappreciated as a strongman athlete, the guy was an absolute monster and dominated that sport for years against guys who were twice his size. There's some mad videos of him out there in strongman that show how impressive he was. The success he had in MMA is purely because of that inhuman raw power, and no joke if he had any kind of technical fighting ability on top of that, people would have probably died. And let's be honest he looks like a god in the ring too, and I'm pretty sure he had to lose quite a bit of muscle when he went from strongman to mma.
I had a jujitsu friend, saying how weight lifters or bodybuilders wouldn't stand a chance with a jujitsu black belt. I think Pudzianowski beating a 4th dan Gracie practitioner and all the other cage fighters proves him wrong. Basically you can never underestimated anyone, from a street fight, weightlifter/strongman, boxer, karate, wrestler, jujitsu etc. I watched a local boxer some years ago, lay 5 men out with just punches, never going to the floor for arm bars and fancy choke holds. I think one of the most dangerous things about any fighter is experience.
My ass my old trainer was a black belt in many forms of fighting got knocked out by a power lifter at a tournament that didn't have anywhere near the experience...y'all skinny dudes who have no muscle like to say big guys can't move around and it doesn't matter are full of shit lmaooo
He's right and wrong at the same time. I've seen a bjj blackbelt easily tap a bodybuilder 100 pounds heavier. But this guy did some aerobic conditioning and trained some martial arts before stepping into the octagon. Plus he was a strongman and they do a lot more than just slow and controlled lifts for hypertrophy like a bodybuilder. Strongmen do SOME cardio and speed training. Bodybuilders don't typically do speed training and some do a good bit of cardio but others don't, it's not really 100% necessarily in bodybuilding.
Butterbean is a boxer. He wasn't a succesful MMA fighter cuz he is too heavy to get up after takedown, and he has no ground game at all. Basically - MMA is just not for him.

I don’t think it does. Marius has decent punching skills and defence. His strength is a factor but his energy level is more relevant. You have to have good condition to last several rounds and he also has that.
Strength only starts to really matter when skill is equal or close to equal. He clearly had reasonable skills too, and that's why he was relatively successful whereas many strongmen fail. Against bigger and fairly strong, really skilled MMA- fighters of recent times or today, like Jones or Aspinall, I think he would have struggled.
Both boxing and Jujitsu have weight classes, so I don't know what kind of crack you are smoking. But there is a point of diminishing return, after around 240-250 lbs, where adding more muscle reduces stamina and speed too much. Mariusz wouldn't last very long against a top tier UFC heavyweight.
@@VeniVidiVomui Well heavyweights can have huge discrepancies in MMA. Which is what this is. Not boxing or BJJ. Also strength can also come in smaller packages. People can be equal in weight and have massively different power.

Go pudge you made everyone define power ❤❤ come back big yin we miss you ❤
A boutique between Puzianowski and Emilienenko would have been EXTREMELY interesting. I'd pay real money to watch that one. Where Pudz had formidable upper body strength and devastating punches, Emil had far more experience in the ring and was skilled at changing his fighting style depending on who he was fighting. Yeah, that would have been WILD.
As much as I like Maruis as a human being, great man, I must say that fight would have ended very quickly and not in his favor. Totally different echelons.
LMAO Fedor would have destroyed him under a minute. Mariusz just won against a bunch of tomato cans.
@@VeniVidiVomui thank you for your expert opinion O Grand Visier.
Mariusz's opponents are just amateurs. People who fight MMA as a hobby. Mariusz never even came close to the level of a world champion in the UFC organization.
Speculation doesn't make any history. I think Mariusz retired but he can be satisfied with his carrier 🌈💪🙏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
