I have to come back and watch this every so often when I need to be blown away and feel the hairs stand up.....well, just about everywhere. Power, Delivery, Stance, Projection, Artistry, Believability, the whole package. It has to be the greatest KTVA student video of all time, surely?
Anyone who has the nuts to sing this song in a public forum to face all criticism I give props too. Ken your the only person I know who stands so firm in a belief that anything is possible if you work hard and do your homework and this is proof that it is true. Way to go Jaclyn.
@@jamesmehaffey7611 Can't blame your singer. I've done this at karaoke, somewhat passably. Haven't done it in a while, though, and I lead with the disclaimer of "If I pass out or something while doing this song, please keep the laughter to no more than 30 seconds before someone calls 911, thanks!"
Check out the Unleash the Archers version. Brittney Slayes kills it. There's even a vid of her doing the song at an after-show karaoke session. Wouldn't want to have been whoever went up after her.
Jaclyn...your performance is as. mighty and dazzling as your beauty. thank you, Jaclyn. You know you rock, Ken. Thank you for sharing this. Have the most blessed week, my friend.
I'm willing to bet there is a band out there right now after seeing this who is going to be getting in contact with her soon ... Great Job Ken ! She's amazing !!!!
O.k, people are commenting on the power and fullness of her voice. I've gotta say the PASSION with which she delivered it showed not only great power and fullness, but also a very special ability to make the song seem like putty in her hands. Truly amazing Lady!
Just awesome! 🥰 Geoff himself probably isn‘t able to sing this song anymore when listening to his last few performances. I‘m always happy to see that there are still young artists who appreciate the „good old music“ ❤️
Ok, Jaclyn, watching your KTVA review, you said that there were new things you were wishing to add to your talent and had to relearn others. I think we found a new thing. There is nothing with this level of controlled power and clarity on your channel. This was incredible, just damned incredible.
Thank you! I absolutely agree about my channel. Ken really kicked my butt and pushed me to get the absolute best out of me. I know now how high the bar needs to be set for my channel. I even thought to myself after I got home from working with Ken in Arizona..."How am I going to be able to do something this good without him being right there for my stuff?" But that's part of the learning curve. I learned so much during my week in Arizona and I now need to be able to do this at home. :) Singing is a lifelong journey and you never stop learning. :)
This song is a shining example of a young, talented singer caught in the throes of his invincibility and not giving even a cursory consideration to the fact that much further down the road he might have to perform this song live as a man in his 50s... this was Geoff Tate pushing his range and delivery to the nth degree, everything cranked up to 11. But boy howdy, did it ever impress me back in the day. I remember getting this EP back before The Warning was released as their first full length album, recommended to me by a review in Hit Parader magazine if I remember correctly. When I heard this song for the first time I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Twice, because I replayed the song again before letting the EP play all the way through. Absolutely incredible vocal performance and likely the key reason Queensryche was able to land a record label in relatively short order. As for Jaclyn's performance of this incredibly difficult song, KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! And from right out of the gate too. BRAVO!! Question for Ken: When you lay down the instrumental versions of these cover songs, are you pulling from the actual multi-tracks or are you recreating the music note for note, instrumentally speaking, in the studio? The reason I ask is because I've noticed that the tone and other audio nuances of every instrument in a particular song are always SPOT ON perfect as if they are pulled from the original recordings. But out of the hundreds of cover songs you've posted you can't possibly have access to the multi-tracks for every one of those songs. Can you? And if you are re-recording them from scratch, you're even better at sound engineering than you are at singing!
I am in awe! She pulled off a very difficult piece of music In my view. Her vocals are opera singer level or close to it. BIG BIG Kudos Ken. She is awesome. Great range.
Geoff Tate is one of the rock singers to date. Performing with the range and feeling he puts in is very hard. She is almost spot on and very enjoyable to listen to. Great job both of you.
Nice work, honestly! I especially like the fact that you sing Ryche with two notes, not one. The trick to Tate is heavy emphasis on cry mode, and very bright vowels right behind the teeth, imagine a polished aluminum plate at the top of your palate.
Another successful cover. Great job young lady! That is one of my favorite songs from their debut album. Way to go Ken! She should be proud and so should you! Keep up the great work!
My goodness, this was fantastic!!!!!!!! I've re-watched this five times already. (October 2022 edit below) I do hope she will return on the channel with some more Queensryche. By now I've re-watched this well over five times. 🤣
I am floored, speechless I need to go back and watch that again..

My band covers this song, our singer was nervous first show lol, sounded killer

I can watch this over and over! She is amazing!

Why would you not think a woman could hit high notes🧐
Check out the Unleash the Archers version. Brittney Slayes kills it. There's even a vid of her doing the song at an after-show karaoke session. Wouldn't want to have been whoever went up after her.
Well, I'm speechless!! How many singers can pull that off. Amazing job. Wow!!
Stunning cover , impeccable vocal performance.
what was impressive was she never sounded strained at all. I think thats a testament 2 her natural talent and her teacher. Again, great Job Ken.
Outstanding, and easy on the eyes..perfection
This is the queen that Geoff sang about! Wow! Please have this lady do some Iron Maiden, Dio and Judas Priest.
Sometimes you hear things that make you smile because they make you feel. This version of this song is one of those things.
All your students have something in common... Their vocal teacher! Your work with all of them is superb, congrats 🎉❤

You know you rock, Ken. Thank you for sharing this. Have the most blessed week, my friend.
It's the vocals with a clear presentation, that keeps the listener captured in the total performance. Most Excellent!
That opening was straight up🔥🔥Not an easy song to cover. She knocked it out of the park.Well done!!🙂🎤🎵

@@serreja You don’t need to worry about reproduction, you’ve already shown you can achieve whatever you aim for, the rest is just logistics.
Outstanding performance! Thanks for sharing. Wow can she sing!
She has a superb breathing control and I just love how she can sustain the high notes. Sounds great!
Holy amazeballs, she even mimics Geoff Tate's mannerisms on stage! I'm blown away by this young lady's voice!
Best Queensryche album. Amazing job!!
That's the cry of a fucking banshee.
Nice.🤘😋
Wow! That was simply INCREDIBLE!!!

Ken you better hide all the glasses when she is in the studio. Wow Incredible
An amazing vocal performance. I was waiting for her to hit Geoffs high notes, but that would be asking a lot, none the less, love it.
Not only can she sing amazingly, her charisma and presence is immaculate. Great video!
Wow, thank you!

Wow, I showed this to my mother and she said “wow this takes me back and how close this woman sounds like Geoff Tate, if not better.”
Awesome!! Epic !! 🤟
