I really don't get why people are referring to the r8's speed, the advert isn't saying that the car drives slow. It's the slowest car they've ever built because the car was slow to build as in the time taken to build it. The video explicitly shows a fast forward of the painstaking time that it has taken to build the car and you can just about see that it has been hand built from scratch by a team Audi engineers.

When I first saw this I was 10 years old. Ever since that moment I’ve always wanted this exact R8. Well I’m now 25 years old. A used R8 is now affordable if bought correctly. I’m getting closer and closer to owning my childhood dream car.
This commercial means so much to me. My mom used to work at an Audi dealership and she only ever owned Audis and VWs so I was naturally obsessed with them ever since I could remember. I remember watching this commercial over and over and over when I was a kid. 17 years later I own Audis and work at the same dealership she did. I live and breath Audi no matter what and I will die on that hill. This commercial almost puts tears in my eyes knowing the fate of the R8 in 2024. RIP R8 will forever be my childhood dream car. I’m lucky enough to have driven as many as I have and for that I’m very grateful.

@cao57 Its actually not simulated, the camera moved extremely slowly on a motion control rig while they put it together, then they speed it up and blur the people into that style.
My father has a 2009 Audi R8. He sometimes drives it whenever he takes his weekly cruises ... He has let me drove it before and it is very, very powerful.

European sports cars are amazing, we don't have them in Canada that much since are roads are pretty rough and hilly, so they would get beat up pretty bad.

I had the luxury of driving an R8 and a GTR in the past year. They are both one of a kind cars. Audi is nice because I think it has better style, and the Stasis models that are tuned and able to be serviced at any Audi dealer. GTR is nice because the style is still good, launch control (0 to 60 under 3 seconds) and with the right exhaust it can be very powerful. Was very loud. People stopped and stared with their phones out when I drove by them in this. Couldn't leave the gas pumps w/o a crowd
@Bjamin97 yes it is the slowest car they ever built. it looks awesome and fast, but it only goes 27,48 km/h the acceleration from 0-20 km/h is about 13,89 seconds.
The irony of this is that it's a very fast car, but the brakes suck. That and there's no spare tire! A flat means a trip to the nearest Audi dealership on the back of a flatbed.
Very good add I remember seeing it for the first and being blown away. I got to drive one last year on a track and it's so easy to drive and so comfortable as well wish I had the dollar to buy one.
