That was also a class in the philosophy of developmental primogeniture; precisely based on this model of human development I turned my exercise dial way down and up'd meditation. My order is Food>Sleep>Mind>The rest. If you get food wrong, you can forget the game, if beyond food you screw up sleep like you said, most of your gains won't las, but then the dicey one for me was exercise or meditation which comes first. I find I can afford about 30 min of exercise per day and 1 hr of meditation or vice-versa. For me mental health and a focused mind seemed more important than an over-rigorous exercise routine. The mind is the primary instrument [among the larger instrument which is the body]. Heavy stuff bro, love it!
Reminds me of the 80/20 principle. Enough quality sleep, enough clean food, tools for mitigating stress like meditation and enough quality movement seems to be the fundamentals that make up the 80%. All the supplements, “functional” exercises and whatever weird bio hack make up the 20%. The 20% usually costs a lot and makes up the smallest adaptations for the body. Too many people are focused on special sleep masks, ear plugs, mouth breathing strips, special sleep supplements, but rarely work out. Then they tell you its helps a lot, but they aren’t doing anything so of course they got benefits. It’s like someone switching from the American SAD diet to a vegan diet, probably better, but not the best: but they got results because they haven’t had a veggie in a year. I love your content man, keep it up. You’ll be big one day in the fitness space. No one has your background in movement and science brotha. I’ll be hitting you up in the coming months to start training with you. Thanks 🙏
I think it's important to record information (background and experiment data) and make it both available and relatable to the current methods for it to be genuinely useful beyond individual anecdotes and personal motivations. Theres a differentiation between doing something for curiosity and science and just personal gain. Elite athletes are essentially some of the best science experiments we have.
Amen! Hard work and dedication around basics, you can't sprint if you can't walk right in the first place. Biohacking community in that regard is a reflection of instant gratification fast paced era we live in and we always find out that fast paced solutions have adverse long term consequences...
Absolutely- and not only do they often have adverse consequences, they're usually slower than the basics were in the first place! You just have to really nail the important stuff.
‘Yea yea yea. Wu wu stuff like ‘nutrition’ and ‘adrenal fatigue’ and ‘good sleep’. Why would I waste my time with that when I can just hack it now so I can be an Instagram influencer. Totally natty’ -is the ontological starting point for most people. Maximum ‘result’ without value. Of what health or joy even mean

Great points and too many people with vested interests remain silent.
I find usually the people with vested interest are quite loud 😂😂
