  • Hello everyone!
    This is a review on a 1997 2-owner (I am the 2nd) Honda CR-V
This is currently my personal vehicle, and I think this is a solid sub $2,500 choice.
The first generation CR-V is a very peculiar car. It's built on a strengthened Civic chassis with stock B-series mounts, double wishbone suspension, 6-10 inches of ground clearance, part time 4wd that can be strengthened, 5 seats a flat load floor, a handbrake, and a manual transmission option.
This is theoretically the most "All-In-One" Honda Platforms of the late 90's.
If you want a 5 seater this is it, if you want ground clearance(or lowering via EM1/EK Suspension) this is it, If you want a manual trans and a hand brake this has got it, if you want moving capability you can absolutely haul things with this, if you want to do a B20Vtec or swap any type of b series engine in, it'll accept it without even changing the stock engine mounts. Not to mention 4wd that can be strengthened with a Honda Element Rear Diff (Complete plug and play), it'll launch better than most other Honda chassis.
My vehicle however is just a humble daily driver.
