In this video, I unbox the Dell G3223D 165Hz WQHD IPS gaming monitor, look at the Dell G3223D type-c gaming monitor ghosting, as well as build quality. just got mine and im really pleased with it thank you so much for the review
One of the best reviews that I have seen: structured, on point, amazing video and sound, tests. Thank you!
I purchased this monitor based on your review and received it yesterday. Having used it for a day and a half or so I have to say you are 100% spot on in your review. Its a great monitor, love it! Thanks and please keep up the good work.
Where did you buy it
@@bahaobey903does it have a 27 inch model?
Dont judge after using it 2 days only lol its a mistake
@@gavrilo1389princip I didn't buy this monitor but I bought the Dell G3223Q in later 2022. 4k, 32 inches but has 144hz instead of 165hz.
It is amazing! Highly recommend the monitor for anyone with a 4090.
amazing review! just bought this, can't wait!. do you have a link for the digital clock you used to have on your desk?
Bought this today. You are spot on. Best gaming monitor I've ever had.
Great review. Can you also test the G3223Q 4K model for comparison?
I just ordered this one, been looking for a 32" -> 1440p. Thanks for great review, liked and subscribed 😎👍
Thanks for the review. I am keen to get my hands on this monitor but its been out of stock in my locale. Guess I;ll have to be patient and wait
Thanks for the great review. Just ordered one!
Excellent review. I was looking at this monitor but needed a confirmation that is a good choice. You just provided that in spades. One question though: where did you get that beautiful colorfull video background? :) Thank you
Thanks for the video, just bought this monitor on sale, love it so far :)
Great review, i'm waiting for that. i just ordered one for me. You got my SUB now, thanks.
Thanks for the review. I'm going for it!
Great review, thank you!
I am using this monitor as I type this. I bought this monitor during the Black Friday sales for $299. I found the menu a bit clunky but once its set, the rest is all good. This should hold me for the next few years. Thanks for pointing this monitor out for me. You do a great job explaining technical information. Keep up the great work.
Can you provide what settings you are using
Hi, great stuff! Could you please review the HP X34?
Great review man I am considering buying this one, but I wonder if you can take the stand off and put it on an arm mount?
looks to have standard vesa mount so yeah
I purchased this monitor because of your review and I just got it. I must say you nailed it!!!! Im loving this monitor its sooooo beautiful. Amazing reviews, keep up the good work !!!
Can you turn off the blue led strip on the back?
@@mmoskon No
Friends, I bought this monitor and I'm using it with a macbook. I'm getting a constant beeping sound from the monitor. Anyone experiencing this problem?
@@mmoskon you can turn it off with new firmware update.
Does the front logo turn on for you, like in this video? mine is off by default and can't find any option to turn it on.
What picture settings did you use for gaming. Did you use any of the preset modes or custom?
thank you! ordered
If I ever start a business and become a millionaire this man will be my advertising director. Facts, 2 mins in and i'm sold, especially going from a lg 34 ips that I sent back.
thank you for the review. Some tests find that the HDR doesn't work well. Would love to hear your appreciation about this :)
I got one of these and the light leak is very bad. It's very visible in game and on dark areas of videos. Dell agreed and are sending me a replacement. I hope they pick out a good one like they sent this guy for review. ;)
You're obviously playing in dim lighting and should have selected a VA panel monitor for darker blacks, not IPS.
Thank you so much for doing this review. Think my rig can utilize the 1440p with gtx2070 super and a Ryzen 7 3700x?
Definitely I used to run a 2070 super with a 8600k and always ran games in 1440p. Just gotta lower some settings a tad bit.
Thank you for the review.
Question: When lower the brightness to 50 and contrast to 60 (hdr off, uniformity off, preset: custom color), have you noticed that the left side is more red or yellow compared to the right side?
On my example, the left side is more red than on the right side.
Can you please review the g3233q 32" 4k version?
I agree! We need a solid review even though I already ordered it haha
That’s what I’m asking for, literally no one has reviewed it and I don’t understand why, only rtings has, it literally looks like a gigabyte m32u on steroids, and near the same price
@@littleasian1232 I did a ton of more research and without a doubt I bought a Sony Inzone M9! Especially considering I use a ps5 and PC… Just got to VESA mount it instead of that terrible stand
@@littleasian1232 I ended up picking one up a couple of months ago and am generally very pleased with the performance and the quality. My only gripe is contrast levels but this is more a limitation of the technology used as opposed to being unique to the model.
@@DustyOldMechanic I don’t have 999 to spend tbh, I’m looking for a 500-600 monitor, the g3223q is available to me for only 529, so I’m really just looking for reviews of that, but I agree, the inzone m9 is amazing
Great review video! Can you connect a MacBook Pro via the ubc-c port on the monitor?
what I have seen, best performance you get from thunderbolt to displayport adapter, and you can use the full refresh rate. It is not possible over the usb-c connection.
I love how you get the opportunity to review all these devices im 16 and been wanting to start my gaming career since i was 12 but cant since my patents cant really afford to buy me a pc i just use my ps4 which broke a couple days ago i was pretty good at some games and uploaded content thats why i got much subscribers but i have no choice but to quit
I ordered the monitor off your review and got it the next day with amazon prime its a great monitor it works well for gaming pc desktop picture looks great nothing washed and i use it on my xbox it does 1440p 120hz on xbox
Great Review. I don't really game but am looking for an office "creator" Monitor. Typically my office orders Dell monitors but all of their 4K screens have VA panels. I am not a big fan of VA panels. Would you rather go with a monitor like this that has only QHD but an IPS panel and pretty good specs, or a 4K monitor knowing it has to be a VA panels. Thanks
whats the liquid wallpaper your using? looks so sharp
How about watching movie/netflix? Its very accurate colour or not? I have lg 27gn850. It worth to upgrade?
This monitor is Amazing! I am in love with it!!
Watched your reviews for both this and the S3422DWG, running a 4080 currently with 2 24in monitors, 1 old 1440p tn panel (being replaced) and 1 1080p IPS panel, between this and the S3422DWG which would you recommend for an even mix of productivity/office work and gaming?
What's the anti-glare coating like? Dell often uses a very aggressive coating that creates a very grainy picture. Also, how was the white uniformity? Is there an updated firmware that lets you turn off the annoying LEDs?
Can you review the 4K version of this monitor, the G3223Q ?
I'm looking for a monitor that will be good both for gaming and 3d animation since I'm a student.
I heard good stuff about it, would you say it will fit?
Should i buy this or gigabyte m27q rev.2? I know this one is more expensive but which one should i pick?
Can you program the buttons to instantly change inputs? It could be pretty nice to be able to change between a game console and your PC just by pressing a button. I have a Xiaomi monitor and it's a pain to change inputs.
Wondering how is this compare to Dell S3422DWG? Any recommendation between these 2 monitors? Mainly for work with some casual gaming on CSGo, Xcom, etc
Same i have this one and want to get a better ips and im scared that itll be the same
Is this monitor Vesa compatible ? And if so is it the standard Vesa or not. I watched both your videos and I couldn't see if it is lol I even slow down the unboxing part of the 1st video I could not see it?
4:37 It's surprising how little backlight bleed there is... How about with the lights turned off?
I have ordered the other model G3223Q 4k model instead but looking at the G3223D its looks great
How is it?
@@VaMpiRe-xo8er tiny text 😂✌
Interesting, in my unit extreme actually introduces overshoot, so super fast is the way to go for me.
Can you show all five unique vision engine applications in any FPS game? I want to see the monitor before I buy it.
I just purchased the Dell - S3222DGM and was wondering if the extra couple hundred is worth getting this monitor? I’m using it to mainly play on PS5
I have an important question here. Does the G3223D support VRR on the PS5?? I'm only asking because this monitor does not come with HDMI 2.1 ports...
First off I really like your monitor reviews they are very detailed and you cover things I never knew to look for in monitors. I'm looking to upgrade my 1080p monitor to a 1440p monitor for my PC games since I just upgraded my PC and I'm stuck between this monitor and the lg ultra gear 32GP750-B. Which one would you recommend getting between the 2?
They're basically the same. LG makes their own panels while Dell source their panels from other manufacturers (Lg made the panel). LG's HDR is much better, but I wouldn't really recommend HDR when gaming. I would recommend dell's 27 inch version.
@@ACE-ck1xf thanks for the reply. I actually went with the lg and it's really good. I also downloaded a HDR calibration app and tuned a bunch of different things and believe it or not the HDR experience is really amazing for everything. It took awhile to get it tuned but it was worth it in the end.
@@mattdunn7402 I'm interested in what application did you use? This Dell has too much backlight brightness in HDR which damages the colors in HDR, I reduced it to about 400 nits and I can say that I was dumbfounded, what contrast I have now and it seems to be much brighter, the colors have more volume, the difference is enormous
@@cioaxa899 I used the windows hdr app from the windows store. I've actually used that to calibrate both HDR PC gaming monitors and my 42 inch Vizio TV that I use for my PS5.
Bro, I bought that monitor after watching your reviews.. I need to say that this is the BEST MONITOR for the price range and even compared to higher!!! Everything you tested and said in both of your videos about that monitor are same with mine too! Absolutely amazing monitor and those whites man.... Beautiful picture quality!
Overdrive settings on extreme - 0 orvershoot !!! No lag, no delay! Absolutely incredible...
The colors are super nice with that wide color gamut and the blacks are not that bad. I compared to Gygabyte G32QC A (VA panel) that I tested before the Dell model and the blacks of the VA panel are like OLED, it was beautiful but the bleeding was hard for my eyes and I even got vision distortion because of the curved screen (I started to see straight lines as curved and flat spaces as rounded), so I had to change it with the Dell and I am super happy.
P. S. I have to disagree with you on the VA vs IPS topic, because here in Bulgaria the VA model is 110$ less and it is totally worth it over the Dell IPS model IF you don't have problems with ghosting/black smearing and it doesn't bother you! You talked about the color on the IPS being more vibrant, beatiful etc. but it is not true! The Gygabyte G32QC A, had almost the same color reproduction!!! It has wide color gamut, just like the DELL's IPS, hitting 94% DC-IP3 and I have tested a lot of content for over 13 days with it and after that the same content on the DELL to compare! The colors are like 95% the same and vibrant too. Also with those deep blacks like an OLED, the movies, games in dark scenes look incredible. The smearing is there and it is noticeable but if you can get used to it then this is perfect monitor for you.
How is this monitor such as the contrast and sharpness. I was looking at the M32qc witch is a update to the GIGABYTE one and it's alot cheaper. I have a M27q right now and can even get the 32q for much cheaper. I read a couple other reviews on this monitor and they don't report 600 brightness or that high of color coverage. I almost feel like Dell paid this dude for the review.
Also I seen this same comment by you on another UA-camrs video 😂
Can you turn off the blue led strip on the back?
@@mmoskon The blue led strip turns off when you turn the monitor off. When the monitor is on, I haven't checked if there is an option for turning off the blue led strip on the back but you can turn off the power button light. Personally I don't have any problems with it and I have other lights too, so I didn't have the need to check for such option.
@@seanguinn Yes, I have commented on other videos about that monitor too. It is perfect if not the best for the price point. Also my comment above explains very well VA vs IPS models with wide color gamut etc. M32QC is an update but the panel is still the same. I think it is not from Samsung like older variants, but from other companies like Isot, Innolux etc. Gygabyte G32QC A is update from Gygabyte G32QC too because it is with different panel (Non-A from Samsung SVA panel, A from newer manufacturer) and the black smearing is a little better from the non-a original model. Still it is visible and maybe a little disturbing but if you get used to it maybe it will be ok for you. Same goes for the IPS glow in darker room so...
G32QC is M32QC without KVM switch and some other extras. If you like VA panels, want deeper near OLED blacks and don't have problems with black smearing, than take any of those... If you want IPS with lower contrast take the dell model because it is the best for the price point.
About the "600 brightness" and "not that high color covarage" this is bs. :) Mine is from 417 to 500+ peak brightness, not 600 like you mentioned and it is indeed brighter then other HDR400 models. The color coverage is very high as I said in my first comment. I use it for graphic design too, other than movies and gaming and it is perfect. If 94% DC-IP3 is not high enough for you I don't know what is...
And btw I am from Bulgaria, so nobody pays me for any "reviews". Those are my own experiences with both Gygabyte and DEll monitors I tested.
Does it have an sRGB mode? And if yes, what other settings does it lock?
I am so fucking relieved. I have spent two days trying to get a 32 inch 2K HDR monitor with an ACTUAL NVIDIA G-SYNC chip. Finally found this video. I could kiss you right now!!!
Great review. I have a Surface Pro 8 and was wondering if the USB-C would work as both charger and display port or just one function. Also, this panel is not in the $500 range. It's more in the $800-$1000 range if you refer to the Dell website. If anyone has tried the link in the details I'm curious to hear your experience.
it works as both
The USB-C only has 15W power delivery, not going to be enough to charging any laptop I guess.

Hey same here I got it for ps5, not able to enable vrr although I tried console mode it didn't work, did you got any solution?
Sadly VRR is not possible for this monitor through PS5. Wish I knew before purchasing. Tried everything. Color is truly amazing though. The HDR could be better too. I should have went with the G2724D instead.

Which one would you recommend between this one and the Xeneon 4K and the LG 32gq950-b?
I recently got the MSI Optix MPG321UR-QD, I'm tempted to get this one as a secondary monitor, Seems like a great option.
O Armen also her :)
How are you finding the MSI? comparing to this monitor?
@@ephraimster It's really good, The colors really pop. It is kind of bright when using it at night, But other than that it's been great. Performance is better on the Dell, but in terms of picture quality, The MSI is better.
@@armen1136 And that's the problem. There isn't a single monitor, which would suffice for all the tasks, and it's daunting
the price is double for the msi, obiously is better quality
How would you say it hold up against Gigabyte M32U? Deciding between Dell G3223Q and Gigabyte M32U
This is probably unlikely, but does it support local dimming at all, if you turn on DCR? It is very surprising it went all the way up to near 600 nits brightness. I wonder if they were aiming for 600 HDR certification, fell just short and ended up with 400 instead.
It does support local dimming in HDR, but there is not enough zones to make it really useable.
4 dedicated buttons actually very useful. I do some programming stuff, reading, researching stuff and play game at some time.. When I play games, I can set highest refresh rate, highest colors, do what is best for colors or smt, on the other hand, these type of calibrations, sometimes bad for eyes for the time passes(I do work game everything 70% of my life), so I can change everything, I mean; changing options, adjusting things only pressing one button is amazing and useful.
A dedicated button for input switching alone is already worth it.
Hey man so I got this very monitor and a few issues.

Wish you had the Q variant to review
I really like Dell monitors for offering great picture quality for the price, but for me there is one annoing deal breaker and that is bad balancing of the stands. Even in this video you can see this monitor is leaning more to the right side. I had at home S3222DGM with similiar problem, but great monitor overall with nice colors, but not something so much vibrating like panels from Samsung. If you are more into oversatured colors, just go with Samsung or MSI, but be prepared for scan lines. For programming it's nice to have huge screen like on this Dell and 1440p for 32" is okay, but much better option will be 4K on 27" or 32" inch monitors, small text will be much crispier and you have more usable options for size adjusting.

Hello! What would you rather get this or the gigabyte m32q that one has a kvm at the same price but not sure if gigabyte is trusted enough in the monitor space
Go with the Dell, if only for the warranty and customer service.
I would also chose the dell over the m32q. Like Eight said the warranty enough is enough to get this. You can always buy a kvm switch.
got my replacement. way better than the first one.
i just compared it againt the gigabyte m32q.
the g3223d is better in terms of minimum and maximum brightness (way better, especially hdr), black uniformity and performance. and my replacement has less ips-glow than the m32q.
imho the m32q is slightly better in terms of build quality. it has a kvm-switch and decent integrated speakers. and ips vs ips the m32q has a better contrast ratio (doesn't matter againt a va-panel). the g3223d's osd is pretty basic compared to the m32q. the osd of the m32q looks better and offers more options, more like a real gaming monitor. and the gigabyte-software is nice.
i'm undecided. performance and picture quality (except for contrast)? imho the g3223d wins. features, build quality? imho the m32q wins. but overall these are rather small differences. dell seems to have a better support with a "premium panel guarantee". the aorus fi32q (the almost identical premium-version of the m32q) also has a "premium panel guarantee". but the fi32q has no speakers and it's more expensive than the m32q. and imo it's ugly. ;)
i paid 337 euro for the g3223d. the m32q costs about 400 euro. the fi32q costs about 470 euro.
@@Peter-De hello.. thanks for your comment! i am also debating wich monitor to get.. The G3223D or the M32Q/aorus FI32Q.. still don't know.. the G3223D is a lil' cheaper but that's not an issue.. i want a monitor with little to no ips glow and good contrast/colour.
