- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Thanks for joining me today! I have a big finish, a medium start and finish, and progress on another piece. Then, let's talk about stitching calendars - why do them and ideas for what to include. Finally, I share some old sampler patterns that I recently bought, in case you need to add to your unicorns list! (*unicorn - an out of print pattern that you'd like to have, so you watch for it on ebay, destashes, etc.) I'm glad we can share time together today, and I hope you'll subscribe for future videos!

Hello Sheri :) I am the owner of 1884 Stitchery and just released Amy Eliza Herbert in an easier to read format! I am also working on updating all the Threads of Gold charts as well; Ann Pasfield available now in paper and PDF version. The Ann Keeler Sampler from McIntosh Samplers... I own that company, as well as, Arelate Studio. I am ALSO working with the designer behind Of Female Worth in bringing all her charts back. The ES Spot Sampler I released earlier this year. ~ McKenna
McKenna, I will be looking forward to your releases of these patterns…they were beautiful ❤
How amazing to see all the older patterns and magazines. How I wish I had my Grandmother's knitting patterns that dated from the 1930s until the 70s. Love your drum for our Queen. What a fitting way to commemorate her life. 🇬🇧
My favorite floss, because it makes me so incredibly happy to stitch with it is Bubblegum!! I’m a pink girl, the brighter the better and that floss just makes me smile.
Sheri, loved all of your contents…you have a way of taking things a step further in your explanations…I love all floss in reds to rust…your acquired stash of old sampler’s is lovely…I hope you get a great deal of pleasure with stitching each one…we all need two adult lifetimes to stitch all we want…best wishes and happy stitching ❤
Oh, that's so true - two adult lifetimes!
I saw your interview with Becca which led me to your floss tube. I so enjoyed your video and there's so much that you mentioned, both in your interview and in this video, that resonated with me. I, too, was a cross stitcher that left it behind while I immersed myself in scrapbooking. While I still love paper crafting and have some unfinished projects I need to do, I am obsessed with cross stitch and all the wonderful designs that are now available. I know I have more charts than I'll ever be able to stitch, but there are times when I simply sit and go through them all. I honestly thought I was the only one who took enjoyment in just having the charts and 'visiting' them from time to time! I appreciated the OOP samplers you showed. It goes to show good design is timeless. So glad I found you and I look forward to following you. My favorite floss is Leo and Roxy Falu Red.
Visiting your stash is always fun - I'm glad we both like that!
Fabulous Flosstube! I loved seeing the samplers. Your Christmas Quaker is stunning. My favorite floss is Leo and Roxy Co. Fallu Red. Just got my order from you, and I loved everything. I can't wait to stitch your Signpost: Stitcher design. I want it to hang in my studio. Kathy Barrick's blog said that Anne Brown will re-release all of her old patterns because people are selling illegal copies for exorbitant prices on eBay.
Always love my visit with you. Love all your bright ideas and your stitching. Those Samplers are amazing. 🥰 Thanks for sharing such a neat find. See you next time. Happy Stitching. 😁
I'm so glad all of those old patterns of samplers have found a home with someone who appreciates them and will stitch them, or find someone who will😊 Your Christmas Quaker piece looks amazing! What a treasured family heirloom that will make! I don't think there is just 1 color of floss that I could only stitch with forever, but if I had to choose just one it would be navy blue. Have a great week!
I love your finished Quaker sampler! Always a joy to see what you have to share!
My favourite floss is Missus Sedus’ silk - in particular, her ‘Darling’ colourway. It is luscious!
Thank you for showing again how you use your Book of Days, it is very interesting and your scrapbooking background sure shows through with your lovely pages and memories from the year. I really enjoy you videos 😊
Coulor and Cotton royal blue is my current favorite. Floss.
your videos are always full of fabulous ideas…thank you!!!
Thank you, Wendy!
My favorite color of floss is Weeks Dye Works brick. It is perfect for my color scheme in my house,
Valentine’s stitching and Americana. Keep doing your three things, always find them fun!
Hey there, Sheri! Loved your floss tube today, especially looking at the samplers at the end. They were so lovely and there were even several that I would stitch. So much stitching, so little time. I'll just keep collecting, I guess!😊 Have a good weekend and thank you for taking the time and making your flosstube!
love it when I see a new floss tube up from you! So glad you do the three things, one of my favorite parts! Favorite floss....hmmm......anything that is in an aqua blue!
Once again a joy to join you on floss tube! My favorite floss color is a school house red. Have a great day!
Your drum turned out so beautiful, it's gorgeous! I love all the samplers you showed, so much eye candy. My favorite floss color is blue whether variegated or solid blue. Thank you for sharing another wonderful update of your beautiful projects.
Enjoy your Flosstube. Love seeing your calendar and showing of the older samplers. My favorite floss is autumn leaves colors !
My favorite color in floss DMC 498. I love red! I am a big Patriotic and Christmas stitcher. Thank you for sharing all those beautiful sampler charts. I enjoy spending time with you stitching.
I love receiving your packages. I can tell the care that goes into packing them. I love all the floss i cannot pick!
Thank you so much, Brandi!
Thank you for sharing all those beautiful samplers. I also really enjoyed your insights into your calendar and the different things that you track. 💕
Thank you SO much for showing your Book of Days! I'll be sending an email to get on you 'doctored up' list! The sampler patterns are stunning! Yes, to stitching them all!
Love the calendar idea and think I will pick it up for 2023! New to Flosstube but you have been a big inspiration for starting my own videos too. My favourite floss at the moment is the Valdani 3 strand collaboration with Rosewood Manor that I’m using to stitch Summer Quakers. Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Congratulations on your new FlossTube - I will have to check it out!
Beautiful finishes, Sheri. Always enjoy spending time with you.
DMC 552 is my favorite color of floss. It is a beautiful shade of purple. Thank you for your visit!
Your drum finish is wonderful. I always enjoy hearing your three things. I loved your walk through of your Book of Days. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Those sampler charts, WOW! So great to see them. My favorite floss color is Buckeye Scarlet. Stay well. Best, K
Loved this video. Thank you for sharing your Book of Days with us and all of your ideas for how to use it.
Hi Sheri, I’m catching up on Flosstube and loved hearing all about your calendar tonight. Blessings, Marlene
Sherry you got lucky. What wonderful samplets! Love your quarker! I just think I need that.Great you are kitting up that project! Have a great week Thanks for sharing!
I love your Christmas Quaker sampler. It is exquisite. I always look forward to your “3 things”. Thanks for sharing them. Always interesting. You will have fun deciding on and stitching all those samplers you purchased.
Enjoyed our visit today!! Periwinkle is my favorite color of floss
Enjoyed your video. Even though I don’t use a book of days, it was so interesting to see how you keep one - thank you. My favorite floss is silk, every color!
Thank you for another great video. It's so nice to share some time with you. My favorite floss is DMC Chistmas red. I've done several monochrome red samplers with this color and it just pops. I love what you do with the stickers in your calendar.
We’ll, I didn’t think I needed a Book or Days… like you, I am a former scrapbooker and after watching this flosstube I’m starting to reconsider.
🙂
Hello Sherri.... I always look forward to watching you. I recently started using Sulky Floss and love it! Hope you have a blessed day!
Love the review of all of the antique samplers. It is just amazing how young these girls were creating such wonderful master pieces. Thank you so much for sharing.
Meant to say that your Christmas Quaker is stunning! I have that chart also and will be doing it once I have completed my ‘Oaks’ Quaker by Happy Mood Point. I agree about the need to be stitch-accurate with Quakers. I have just spent three evenings frogging half the first row of motifs plus half the side border and a bit of the top border because I had turned the corner one pair of oak leaves too soon!!! It’s a wonder I didn’t put it into time out!
Oh no!! That's so frustrating, isn't it? But it happens to all of us and you'll be happier that you fixed it!
I love seeing your calendar. You have given me a lot of ideas to implement in my own calendaring for next year. The Christmas Sampler is gorgeous. That is going to look great framed. My absolute favorite color of Floss is teal. I love teal because it can look like blue or green depending on what tints are in the flosses around it and the fabric it's on. Have a great week
Your floss tube today was great. So glad that the historical magazines were passed on to live on. I am a new back to cross stitcher so I have not experienced many of the types or floss. I can only get DMC locally and I have not ever been to a brick needlework store to really choose and experience. It is definitely on my list.
Hi Sheri,
Thanks for sharing all the fun things you do with your "Book of Days" calendar. Lots of fun and very creative. Liked seeing the older charts also. My favorite DMC floss is B5200. It really pops when you need to see snow or snowflakes. Be blessed and keep stitching. Alberta from Southern, MD .....💛💛
Hi Sheri! Christmas Quaker 2 is beautiful! I love how some of the Christmas carols are on the edge/border. Gorgeous! Love your calendar, "Book of Days"! I stitched in the 90's too and don't remember samplers. They are all so pretty. Very nice flosstube. Thank you. Have a wonderful weekend 🌹
WOW!!! What a WONDERFUL video ☺️. Please don’t ever think that I mind if your Flosstube goes past your “sweet spot”, because I always get such enjoyment from what you show, share & opine to us. I always find myself adding to my wish lists or adding items to my Amazon lists. Always such good suggestions from you. And today, I especially loved seeing your magazine acquisition & all those beautiful samplers that your acquired!!!! You are correct…not enough “life” left to get all the stitching done. Do you think there will be stitching in Heaven?! I sure hop so…..I will run as fast as I can to take a seat beside my mom & stitch the days away ☺️
I really enjoy working with overdyes (but darn it, you just can’t go wrong with good ole DMC). I do have a few favorite colors of floss. WDW: Sweet Potato, Whiskey, Harvest Moon, Merlot.
I love Lipstick Red by Threadwork
Some of my favorite Patriotic color combinations are: WDW Beige & Americana Or I recently used these color combination to finish SamSarah “Liberty for Me” WDW Bordeaux, Navy & Lt Khaki ❤️🇺🇸
I think there will be a whole team of needleworkers working on amazing tapestries in Heaven. I'll see you at the table there! ;-)
My favorite floss is DMC 3750 which is a beautiful blue. I have enjoyed my Book of Days this year and have included my quilting and stitching in mine. It is so nice to look back and see what I made, to whom I gifted it, or what changes I made to a design. I always enjoy your flosstubes. And yes, I have stickers in mine too.
I think it's especially nice for things you give away. I stitched so many things I gave away over the years, and I wish I had photoed them and kept track!
My favorite floss...today...is Cottage Garden Threads' Running Postman. I love spending time with you!
Thanks for stopping in, Ellen!
I love all colors of floss!! Love all the colors!
I really enjoyed your Show and Tell segment of older sampler designs. I have a few issues of the Sampler publication and I enjoy looking through them every so often. Right now, my favorite thread color is a charcoal grey but thank goodness we have so many colors to choose from.
Thank you for sharing all your beautiful stitching and all your information. You are always sharing helpful ideas. My favorite floss is DMC it is so versatile and inexpensive but I fill in with the fancy floss too. 🥰
My favorite thread is Threadworx 1089 Bleeding Hearts. I really appreciate your planner session as I am finishing up my first year and want to use my planner more efficiently. Thank you for the inspiring sampler chart parade also.
Loved seeing all the old samplers. Great video
This video was so interesting. I love how you talk about your mistakes and the joy of unsewing. My mother taught me the same way. If I made a mistake out it would come. I just found the Happy Hearts Sampler for a reasonable price. I can't wait to get started and loved your personalization. Happy stitching days.
So happy you found a copy, Charly!
My favorite color floss is DMC 931. There is something about that shade of blue I have always loved. Your big finish…WOW!
I can't imagine how Icould ever pick one color of floss as a favorite. My favorite color is green so it would be a shade of that. Your Christmas Quaker is beautiful as are all your projects.
Thank you for the sampler parade. So many nice ones! I have several older patterns but have not seen any of the ones you showed. My favorite floss color would be Classic Colorworks "Blacksmith Blue". Thanks for taking the time to do another inspirational video.
Since I am limited to one, my favorite floss is DMC 815. It's a beautiful deep red. Loved seeing the Sampler stash even if they may be OOP. I just recently bought a HATS pattern with the 100.3's to stitch it with. Now I need to go find one of those bins to hold them! Always great & helpful ideas shared in your videos! Thank you!
Love your finishes and your progress on your wips. My favorite floss is from Owl Forest. Happy stitching!
My favorite floss color is sky blue in DMC. Love your calendar and how you did extras like the spiral bound with the clear plastic covers and extra pages added to the back of the calendar booklet. Would love to have the calendar with all the extras. Samplers were very nice. Stay safe. Walk in Peace.
Thank you for sharing all your great projects and your drum turned out amazing. My favorite floss is Belle Soie Poison Apple, a reddish color with amazing variation.
Thanks for another video! Love seeing your modifications to the Book of Days again. My favorite DMC color is 347 red.
My favorite floss, at least for today, is Cherry Cobbler, Classic Colorworks.
Yay Cherry Cobbler...I always try to keep some on hand!😊
Hi Sherri! Your finish of the Christmas Quaker piece is lovely! I don’t know that I have a favorite floss color. I like most all blues and I really enjoy stitching with Sulky floss whenever I can! Have a wonderful couple of weeks.
Always informative! I love all red floss, all brands and types.
Love to sticker up my book of days! My memory isn't what it used to be, but this book helps !It's fun. Thanks for sharing 🤗💚💚💚💚🌴🌴🌴🌴
My favorite floss color is blue because I love to stitch patriot, so I am always looking for different blues (and reds). I love watching you such great content.
The samplers you showed were amazing. I can see why you want to stitch all of them. Your videos are so informative. I always learn something. You can sure tell you were a teacher. 🥰 I wish I lived in Ft. Collins for many reasons but getting to attend your stitchy nights would be an extra bonus. Take care.
I am also stitching the Happy Hearts Sampler and personalizing it for my 50th wedding anniversary. Fun stitch!
That's a great idea, Susan!
Sherri your drum turned out gorgeous!! I would never have guessed that was your first drum finish! Beautiful 😍 Favorite floss that’s really hard. My favorite color is yellow so I’m going to go with Finley Gold. I don’t know if stitching only with yellow would go over too well! But yellow makes me happy, it’s like sunshine. ❤ Hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank you, Michelle! Vonna's tutorials give you all the tips and tricks to make it look good!
My favorite color of floss is anything blue. Your calendar idea is great!
I'm fairly new to your channel. Love your videos. Sounds like we've had a very similar year. I lost my sweet German Shepherd Sammy in January. I also lost my Dad in August. I stitched a small piece for Sam. I'm stitching Remember Me Pinkeep by Scattered Seed Samplers on 36 ct Vintage Country Mocha. I substituted the navy DMC for Crescent Colours Nighty Nite and the green leaves with Weeks Oscar. Loving how it's looking. I don't stitch with navy often but Nighty Nite might just be a new favorite. Very rich with suble varigation. I live near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with your viewers. 💗
Love your videos. Great find with all the Needlework magazines such a fun read. I love any shade of red floss.
Oh my goodness what an amazing shop you have. I missed getting to visit as I was in town on Monday and am leaving Tuesday 😢. I will make sure to stop in for a few hours of shopping next fall ❤
My favorite color is blue - not sure I have a favorite floss color, but I'm stitching a monochrome sampler in Blue Corn right now and enjoying that. It was fun to see all the "old" patterns - recognized a few and even have some in my stash!
I LOVED the sampler parade. What a treasure you have. My favorite floss is DMC 336 since navy blue is my favorite color. Perhaps my fathers service in the Navy is the reason.
Talk about the best haul EVER. All those vintage sampler patterns are fantastic! I wouldn't know where to start. My favorite floss is Classic Colorworks Cherry Cobbler. Happy Stitching 😽
What a great treasure of magazines! So happy for you!
My favorite floss color is blue. 930, 932, 932. Love your Flosstube. Always enjoy.
My favorite floss are the overdyed ones. I love the subtle color changes in them. I can’t pick a favorite color as I love so many of them
In my past stitching life I only used DMC floss. Since rediscovering cross stitch thanks to COVID I bought a pattern that called for Weeks Dye Works and I am really liking that floss. To pick a favorite color is hard, I like all colors.
Your projects are beautiful, I’m not a sampler person… the ones you show towards the end of the video were interesting.
Thanks for sharing the sampler patterns that were gifted to you. There are so many beautiful patterns! My favorite floss color at this time is Vintage Rose by Cottage Garden Threads. I can't remember where you said you might give away your stickers to but day care facilities, pre-schools and nursing homes love to receive donated items for craft projects!
I have not used much silk floss, but I recently stitched with some Dinky Dyes and fell in love!! I know I won’t buy much of it, but I would if I could! Loved seeing your old sampler patterns that you puchased ❤️
Hi Sheri ...thanks for the video...I love the DMC Floss color #550!...it's such a rich color and I've never gotten to use it enough!
Thank you your awesome floss tube. My favorite color floss is DMC 924. I call them pin cushions. I love all the one you love. I love to try special stitches I enjoy the challenge. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great day.
Your Christmas quaker piece is gorgeous!!! My dad’s birthday was also December 26 ...😻. My favorite color floss changes with whatever I am working on so at the moment it’s WDW clockwork. Wow!! There are some gems in that sampler parade...
Your calendar is wonderful!!Wish I could make myself keep mine up. Love so many shades of red floss
Oh Sheri, you are such an enabler! I love your Christmas Carol Quaker finish - it's so pretty! Makes me want to dig mine out. And the sampler charts you showed...now I've got a new unicorn to search for 😅 Thanks for sharing such beautiful things each month. My favorite floss - I can't pick just one, but I'm fond of mauve-y pink-y colors :)
You do need to get yours out, Caitlin! So much fun to stitch.
Your Happy Heart Sampler is beautiful. Love all those colors. Seeing the Antique Sampler magazine reminds me that I have a stack of them(now I want to hunt them up). So many beautiful sampler charts, so little time! One of my favorite color of floss is Cherry Cobbler by Classic Colorworks.
I absolutely loved your show and tell of those gorgeous samplers!! Thanks for sharing!!! My favorite FLOSS is dmc 321 (that luscious red) and/or Turkish Red by Color Works Floss. I just can't get enough RED in my life!!!!
I never get in a stitchy slump. But if I feel I need to take a time out from stitching, I’ll knit, read or go walking. My favourite floss is really anything that is the colour red.
Your Christmas Quaker finish !! ❤️💚. Wonderful accomplishment, I don’t get how you finish so much with your busy life🌸. The vintage Sampler review was so interesting, now I’m going to look for that Time and Seasons Sampler. I’m a sticker lover also with my book of days 😀
Oh yeah, I call them pin keeps 😁
What a fun video! I loved seeing the samplers! I have the ES spot motif, working in it now. And of course your calendar is so precious and inspiring! I will have to try one this year. My favorite floss is cranberry by gentle arts. Probably because I stitched my first red sampler with it.
The floss bag is a beautiful one. I love working with the color burgundy DMC 770 in my pieces. It is such a rich color. I need to get up to Ft. Collins and visit the shop again.
Like the ideas with the planner. thanks.. Also LOVE the Vintage shelf behind you got to get one of those .. Thanks
I am new to cross stitch this year, and my favourite floss is any RED and I haven't explored the different brands, I have only purchased DMC and Leo&Roxy to date. Love listening to your flosstube!
So happy you've joined all of us in the cross stitching world! Welcome!
Gosh, LOVED seeing the Antique Sampler patterns! And your finish is amazing! My favorite Floss Color is really anything red. Right now I am in the mood for Christmas and I am using Belle Soie silk Cranberry. It is yummy!
Your Christmas sampler is spectacular! I really don't have a favorite floss, love anything with aqua. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Great video Sheri! I love the idea of the “doctored up” book of days! FUN!
I love Gloriana silk floss in “Royal Plum Light”
Hi Sheri, Not sure if anyone posted about this but folks can now buy the Amy Eliza Herbert sampler through 1884 Stitchery either as a pdf or a paper pattern. Congrats on finishing the Quaker Christmas Sampler! The sampler collection you showed is wonderful, especially seeing some of the early Darleen O'Steen patterns from The Needles Prayse.
As to a favorite floss, any time I can stitch with Soie 100/3 I'm especially happy!
Love your floss tube videos. Thank you.
I love sulky floss & it’s coverage! As far as color…red, red & more red!!! ❣️
It’s hard to pick just one favorite floss color but I really love Weeks Dye Works Indian Summer. Enjoyed seeing the parade of older sampler charts.. thanks for sharing!
My favorite floss is Cayenne by Weeks Dye Works. I really like the over-dyed thread. When I'm in a funk, I watch a flosstube to perk me back up.
Loved the sampler parade! There were a lot a very pretty and very interesting charts in that mix. Like you, I stitched in the 1990's as well but I will admit, I did not even look at samplers then. I'm enjoying them now though!!
My favorite floss right now is the Victoria Clayton silks... I try to get the conversions to as many of my samplers as I can! Victoria Clayton "Abandoned Hope" is a beautifully variegated navy blue and works perfectly in patriotic stitching!
See you next time!
Happy Stitching
