The Woom 2 (bit.ly/WoomBikes2JKW) was a fantastic bike, super light at around 12 pounds and with a chain driven drivetrain. The Woom 2 is a 14” wheeled bike, which was great for ages 2.5-3.5. I did swap on some knobbier, kevlar bead (also called folding) tires, as we ride offroad daily. While we loved this bike, the move up to a 16% wheel size is a 12.5% increase. To put that in perspective, the very noticeable difference between 29 and 27.5 is only 5%!

My daughter has had her crap frozen 2 bike for a year now. Its near impossible to pedal due to rubbish crank. Loving the build quality of the prevelo and your daughter handles it really well.

I have super short kids. My daughter moved to a 20” at 7. She has a 2020 Rocky Mt Vertex Jr. Its a bang up bike for the price. I bought my son a 2021 Commencal Ramones 14. He is your daughter’s age. He doesn’t fit his 14” yet. He’s still rocking the pink hand me down Strider. I hope he grows into his Commencal soon!

I love seeing kids, or anyone, get their first mountain bikes/take their first rides!! I've loved having a GoPro along with each kid to catch their first ride highlights and stoke too

Nice video. I’m on my third kid biking my experience. Short and sweet:
- strider bike @ 2 years old (I like strider bikes with hand brakes. Gets them used to braking)
- early rider belter 16 @ 3-4 years old. 13lbs (weight is a huge deal with the littles)
- 5.5-6 years old (kid height depending) moved to a norco charger 20 hard tail (learned gears)
- 6 months later added a PNW Coast dropper. Added a lot to what type of terrain he could ride.
- 7 years old; norco charger 24. Same bike just bigger. Moved the dropper post over, simple transition. :)
- plan is to throw him on an old 26” next, then a 29er when he hits high school

Great video Jeff! We moved our girl to a 20" wheeled bike with gears around 5.5 years. A Islabikes Benin. She is almost 8 now and a new 24" bike from Pello is on the way. She is kind on the little side so we got 2.5 years out of the 20 and hope the same for the new one. Super cool seeing your girl enjoying riding so much! Cheers

Hi Jeff! My daughter and I watched your video together and we both enjoyed it. She just turned 4 and got a Ku bike at her third birthday. It is very similar to the prevelo with a bit narrower tires and handlebars. It seems that she's ready for 20' wheels now but we will wait until spring before she gets the new bike. The sooner she gets bigger wheels the more she will enjoy riding harsher trails. With the small wheels she gets stuck quite often. Have fun together!

Awesome video Jeff! I started riding with my kids very early too. The first bike with gears was a Specialized Hotrock 20". My oldest son got a 24" Kona when he got bigger and for my younger son I got a 24" Trailcraft. Now both boys (14 and 17) ride on adult size bikes which is a big advantage. The Trailcraft just found a new home with a young shredder.

What an adorable little shredder. We got my son a 24in as his first MTB a Norco Fluid 4.3+, he was almost 6, it seems like a pretty sweet bike. He is 8 now but the Norco will last him a couple more years yet. Prior to that he had a Malvern Star 16in which is now his sisters. She wants a mountain bike too I might have to check if we can get the Prevelo Zulu 2 here in Australia.

Got my little guy on the Zulu One 14” at a little past 3 years old. His two older sisters are currently on Wooms. Both great companies making excellent kid specific bikes.

Shes Rockin Jeff!! This Christmas i got my nephew(7) and niece(5) their first mountain bikes. For him a Blue Giant STP 24"!! For her a Pink Haro Flightline 20"!! Its only been a couple weeks and they both have the shifting down. Now to get them on some real trails!! (i need a bike first tho lol).... Wish i could afford a ebike due to health / feet, but a decent one well, their way outta my $$ range, so im saving what i can to get a good "reg" one.... Keep up ur awesome vids, esp now with her!! Been watching you for yrs and this makes ur channel even better, IMO!!

OMG your daughter is so adorable. I upgraded my son to a 20" bike with gears and a suspension fork (Commencal Meta HT 20) when he was 7 for Christmas. There are a couple of videos on my channel of him riding it at our local trails.

After finding your channel because of the Ripley AF, I looked back through your videos and found this one. My daughter just got a Zulu One for her 3rd birthday. I was thrilled to discover the seat post fit in my stand, and she had great time helping put it together, too. It gave her a great ownership of the bike, and she loved watching Evelina ride a bike just like hers and using a Towwhee, also. She's learning brakes first (came from a Strider) and she'll learn to pedal next. We have gotten 7 feet of snow in the last week at our house, and she still wants to ride it. The video is great motivation for her. Thanks!
Hey John, thanks for the super nice note! Congrats on your gal's 3rd!!! We've been over the moon stoked on the Zulu, and TBH today at the pump track I was thinking about how she might even be able to rock some 20" wheels soon- which means GEARS! Enjoy the ride man!

Picked up a used Zulu 2 from Prevelo for my 4.5 YO to upgrade from Alpha 2 as we got more into more serious trail riding. I see a big difference on his downhill ability. He can now get through sections he used to crash on his Alpha 2 previously. My MTB friend was surprised and impressed that he could keep up with the bigger kids.
Hi Jeff! Greetings from across the border (BC)! My 4 year-old (43" tall) is super happy about his Spawn bikes. We started with 16" Banshee and already transitioned to 20" Yama Jama.

Awe what a cutie pie:) great video.
My girl is also 3 and a half and she had been riding the littlebigbike for a year now. Because it has grown with her since she was about 2 and a half as a balance bike, it took about 5 minutes for her to start pedaling by herself and she is totally killing it on the trails. It is a 14 inch bike though which I guess you could call a happy medium between 26 and 29 inch wheels.

Switched at just under 6 years old, otherwise bike is too big. The long wheelbase and his low center of gravity, he’s ripping lots of skinnies and features.

Will check this out. 6 year old is ready for a gear bike and to pass her Woom 3 down to her brother who is ready to move up from his Woom 2. It’s amazing what a properly designed kids bike can open up, versus the heavy giant chain ring “kids” bikes I grew up with.
This videos is so cool, I got my daughter The Early rider 16" with belt drive. All the quality kids bikes are so good. So much easier for her to ride a bike that weighs 5.6kg. We changed the paddles to chesters are her feet kept falling of the pedals.

nice i love taking the kids out biking, at the moment i have a 7 and a 9 year old both girls. they tend to come out at separate times as the younger one started later and cant keep up to her sister whom is a bit impatient. I got them on a 20" giant taffy that i retrofitted a cheap 1x7 both rode it at 6-7 years old. :) and a hotrock 24" once outgrown. will likely get an XC 26er XS hardtail or full sus if i can find a light enough one for her next.

Got my 4 year old a Norco this summer, but probably looking to upgrade him already for next summer as he grew a good amount. These are one on the radar with a mix of other bikes for sure! Love riding with the little ones, just not looking forward to the day that I can't keep up with them. haha!
On the fence of trying to find a low stand over height 20" so it will last more than a year. I did this with my older boy on a 24" then swapped to a super short stem and narrower bar so it fit the reach better. Bike should last him 3-4 years that way!

Hey Jeff, great video! I'd say regardless of the bike you get, it's the moment you get to spend time with your daughter in the trails that matters.
Still, I got a Commencal Ramones 16 for my son. Disk brakes, but mechanic. Still, it's a special edition which the fork color scheme resembles Fox36 orange.
My son loves the Ramones.

My daughter, who is 10 now didn't get a 20" bike until she was 7. It's best to resist the temptation to overbike your kids. If they feel comfortable they will have more fun and ride longer. BTW, you have the cutest kid ever Jeff! That age is so fun! ❤

That is a rad little bike! I remember my first legit bike and how it changed my life forever, being able to adventure away from home with your friends and explore new places. We need more kids riding bikes these days, the percentage of kids/teens riding has got to be at an all time low.

Our son Shawn rode a Early Rider 16" belt drive bike. It was light and awesome

My elder son was born in May 2016, so is almost 4.5 years old now. We went from Woom 1 (2018) to Woom 2 (2019) to Early Rider Belter 16 (2020, somewhat pimped with lighter parts). Now the 20" bike with gears and disk brakes is already in the garage. I got him a Supurb Bo20, which according to my research is one of the smallest and probably lightest 20" bikes. Unfortunately, they're no longer made, so have to get it second hand. However the standover height is still a bit too much, so he can't dismount safely yet and therefore is not very keen to ride it yet. It will be a perfect fit next year though I'm sure and I can't wait to hit the Leogang and Saalbach Bikeparks which are only a 10 minute drive from home with him!
The Prevelo Zulu Two looks very dope for a 16" bike and I can definitely second your recommendation to get a very good kids bike with insane resale value. The fun your kids will have is priceless after all!
As for the Woom Offs, I think there are better alternatives, especially in the high end market with more progressive geometry. VPACE, a german brand, being one of the best in my opinion.
Looking forward to more vids of Evelina ripping up Galby, this new bike and the towhee is sure to be going a killer combo!

We did a Cleary 16" wheel bike at 3.5 years old then moved him to a 20" wheel trek roscoe that i highly modified at age 5.5. He will be 8 in November and is still on it but will go to 24" wheel for next season

Pretty rad geo for little groms with 66 degree head angle. When she gets more advanced you can have Prevelo send you their Heir carbon 60mm fork. My sons progression has been Norco Ninja 12” run bike at 1.8 yrs and then a Norco Roller 14” at 3yrs. He’s now 4 and hope to skip 16” altogether and try Zulu 3 20” or Norco Fluid HT+ 2.3 20” when he turns 5.

Only downside to having a traildad is that he eats much more than Evelina does, so it's kinda costly ownership LOL

I love this and I love the bike so I don't want to sound negative.
The disk breaks rotors for some reason make me nervous for kids this young.
Nothing negative, just my own feelings.
My kiddo (wll be 7 in February) also loves riding her bike. We started with small balance bikes, then got up to a 12" Hotwalk, ater that a 12" Hotrock, 16" Riprock and now she is riding a 20" Riprock. She just finished a small MTB school for kids to learn some basics of cornering, braking and so on. And we all love riding bikes so we go often for daily trips like 20-30km with her. No issues at all with her
