What an absolutely beautiful creature. I can never own one, but I enjoyed watching him, especially the closeups where I could see details of his scale geometry, color gradations, and bright eye. It’s great that they are relatively handleable, not seriously dangerous like some others. (Looking at you, green iguana, and you’re not the only one.) As you suggest, a good pet for someone with the problem of too much money.

i recommend the "summon animal, lvl. 2" spell. gives you a brand new lizard without parasites for up to 20 minutes. and then it vanishes, so you don't need to think about food or an enclosure.

Okay, so I know your fan base isn’t the largest - but with every new video you post, my need (NEED!) for Clint’s reptiles merch grows bigger.
By the standard of your videos and your logo, you seem to have a great graphic designer and I have a great need for a pretty t-shirt with some of the lovely Clint quotes.
I mean: ‘when you’re a noodle with a head, the world is a scary place’? Yes. ‘Blinking is for mortals’? Also yes. ‘Stinking rad’, ‘awesome’, ‘spectacular’? I would buy all of these!
Even from this video - I want a shirt saying ‘you’ve ever chased down a snail?’
I don’t know, it’s just a thought. I absolutely love your show, and I would personally love some merch :D

So many of the lizards that score low on your channel have a common theme that goes beyond them being demanding to care for. Other than the large monitors that could be dangerous of course.
They are wild farmed and imported en masse rather than bred for demand. They are stressed. They have parasites. They may be bad tempered. They may be wounded by other lizards during importing. They may even die on arrival such as the chinese water dragon. I bet so many of these lizards could be far more achievable pets if only they were captive bred and genuinely looked after. It breaks my heart that this probably wont ever change

I love your videos. Very educational. Anyone wanting a new reptile should watch your videos to know exactly what they are getting into. Those cute little reptiles like this one and the tegu are like owning a toddler that will require special treatment for life, and their own room bigger than a closet. Without this education many will not be able to envision the full impact of future costs involved with getting a cute reptile. Thank you for the great education.

This is a gorgeous lizard. Looks like it's covered in polished jade. I guess on the upside, if you can afford the expensive enclosure and such, you at least get a nice lizard to interact with which is more than one can say for some of them. I think a tegu would be a lot more manageable, just because the lack of a water feature takes away an order of magnitude in cost and maintenance. I'm still inclined to think a snake would be a better choice for me though.

Everyone talks about the parasites and such with imported animals but we are generally not getting these animals direct, they are coming from a reptile retailer that has or should have already taken care of those issues. I guess it is important to know who you are dealing with and ask them directly about treatment for these issues.

This lizard makes a cameo appearance in Jurassic World as one of Dr. Henry Wu's mutant lab animals (presumably prototype experimental animals before moving on to creating the Indominus rex and the Indoraptor).
Here's a list of Dr. Wu's mutant lab animals:
A caiman lizard with macaw-like feathers instead of scutes on its back
An axolotl with a dorsal fin similar to a Dimetrodon's
A strangely intelligent veiled chameleon that grabs its insect prey with its hands instead of its tongue
A two-headed ball python (although two-headed snakes do exist)
And in the junior novel adaptation, he also have a monkey with bat-like wings, a strangely muscular mouse, and a fish with clawed hands and feet instead of pectoral and pelvic fins.

As always, super excited to see a new posting by you guys! I can't wait to share this with the fiancee, she loves Caiman Lizards! How's your Jewled Lacerta doing so far, Clint?

I think the coolest thing about them is that they don't eat fish so if you are already an avid Aquarist you can keep them in a big Paludarium and go all out in the aquarium part.

Ooo, thats the lizard Kaiman from Dorohedoro is! I thought he was a crocodilian caiman drawn very weird, but hes definitely one of these guys drawn a bit less weird. Give the man his SNAILS :D

Very cool, but basically unobtainiam as they are so hard to find. If u can build a tegu enclosure, u can build one for these. A dream reptile for sure!

Captive breeding snails are very easy, there are many types of snails that breed crazy fast and you’ll have much more than you need, just make sure you get the temp of the water right and have a good filter

Saw a young one at Repticon for $650, sooo tempted, but I don’t think I could have one in anything less than a giant Florida room type deal with a pond.
