    If, after watching this video, you're thinking "I love that it is incredibly beautiful and might bite pieces out of my hand, but I wish it was meaner than that and would bite the heck out of me everyday", then be sure not to miss our video on the most beautiful and terrifying gecko in the world, the tokay gecko: ua-cam.com/video/KvnHz2RWTVw/v-deo.html

      You and your team are awesome. My family and I have seen every video at least once. I even catch my 4yr old saying "Well hi there" and "stinkin rad". A giant void was left in the animal/reptile loving community when Steve died. While I am not comparing you to Steve just yet, your level of passion and enthusiasm are on par. This channel is a breath of fresh air, and a much needed resource for the reptile community. Stay stinkin rad, we all love you!

    Abronia graminea should be 5/5 in my opinion. Super easy to care for indoors. They like room temp. Great eaters. Super inquisitive, intelligent, and friendly if handled. A little tricky to breed in my experience BUT the fact they give birth to live lizards and nots eggs is awesome. Oh and the non dropping prehensile tail! Love it.

I have kept pet alligator lizards local to where I live off and on over the years (and they were incredibly docile, but I have seen super aggro ones too), and find them to be incredible pets but don't keep them anymore as I want them to stay wild. I can see a lot of the same mannerisms on these guys, they just LOOK intelligent. Beautiful animals, I seriously hope they stick around and don't become endangered, that would be absolutely heartbreaking.

    The macro footage is something I like about this show that I never seem to find elsewhere. It is a must for any reptile video, imo, unless you don't have the tech, then I understand.

    If you live in a pretty cold place what would you recommend for heating.

    • @ClintsReptiles

      Lights or heat pads on thermostats.

      @valkarath 5 років тому +2

      If you’re using a screen enclosure and you don’t mind you’re room being a lil warm then I use a space heater (with a built in thermostat) and it’s actually been amazing. But for convince the lowest watt you can find (I think it’s a 25 watt) heat lamp as they are really sensitive to heat.

    Hi Clint! Imagine you could somehow make any reptile nonvenomous, less agressive, smaller, etc. and keep it as a pet. What it would be for you? For me it would be one of bush vipers, because they are stunnig and look like dragons. If anyone wants to join, feel free ;)

    • @ClintsReptiles
      @ClintsReptiles  5 років тому +6

    Hey Clint! At about 9:15 or so into the video you're talking about proper UVB and reference the coil-type "CFL" bulbs. Per the manufacturers these only produce usable UVB for just a few inches and only directly under the bulb. I would only ever recommend the linear or "tube" fluorescent lights for UVB.
    Love the video! I really value how you bring so many reptiles I'd never heard of to UA-cam.

    Great video! One thing I’d like to mention is if you live in a dry and arid place like I do, glass tanks are recommended to hold humidity. Tall Exo Terra tanks provide great ventilation and maintain the high humidity levels these creatures need. Also, they drink TONS of water so be sure to mist a couple times a day
