Well hi there! If you love big, impressive lizards that look like dinosaurs (and let's face it, how could anyone not love such a beast?), then be sure not to miss last week's video on the incredible rhinoceros iguana: ua-cam.com/video/KSCCvqIkLoY/v-deo.html
I take it that snails suitable for human consumption will be safe for Caiman lizards? Great vid man, I tune in every week, keep on going, you're one of the best channels on UA-cam by far!😁
Couldn't you just let a tegue free roam the house and set up a smaller area in one room just for basking? Or even add a doggy door so they can go outside to bask?
That was so cute when Ivy was looking up at you, I couldn't help but smile. And I knew exactly where these guys were from as soon as I saw them. I've been following The Reptile Project since your video on caiman lizards. I'd love to see a video on lace monitors! I follow someone on Instagram that has one and he's absolutely gorgeous but also really, really big. Also, maybe a head to head between caiman lizards and mertens' water monitors? They're similar in size and need similar enclosures.
I adore my skink and gecko and it’s all thanks to this channel that opened my eyes to how amazing and lovable these beautiful creatures are. I look forward to each video you put out and I recommend them to friends and family too. Thank you Clint and team! (And unofficial mascot GusGus)
Yes! I've been waiting for a head to head of these two lizards! I've been doing research on keeping both of them for some time now but I just couldn't choose because they're both so stinking rad. The only reason why I can't take on the caiman is the aquarium space, but whenever I have such a space that is the first lizard I am adding to my collection!
I never really thought that hard about Caiman lizards until I saw your videos on them. Now I'm completely intrigued! How do you DO that to me Clint?????!!! Great video. Pats to Gus Gus!
They are both absolutely gorgeous reptiles! Also wanted to let you know I did finally get my Northern blue tongue skink, and I could not be happier with my choice!! :) Little guy is so curious, smart and amazing! Didn't imagine how in love I could fall with a reptile! Or how much personality BTS could have! Even my bf (who is not exactly an animal lover) seems to have taken to liking him! :D
A tegu is definitely on my list. I could even have an outside area on my balcony for the warmer days. How big is your enclosure btw and will you ever give us a reptile room tour? If so, can't wait...
I would love to see a video by yourself on a black throat monitor! I wanted a tegu for the longest time, and am now finding out people keep even bigger ones! Thank you for the professional content, keep up the good work!
You know the world is upside down when you see that this channel only has 91k subs. I know that sub count is getting ready to explode, great video guys!
Tegus are so cool and I would get one if I had space ( sadly I don’t ). Also, you really seem to trust all of these lizards more than some I’ve seen in your past videos. They’re so chill!
Again another amazing video Clint😁👍 i love both of these animals. They're so unique and exotic lizards. They're beautiful in their own way. Btw, guss guss being stroked is the highlight of the vid😊
As I stated in your video on Tokay geckos, I worked in a pet store, we also had Argentine Tegus, they were juveniles, but, I can also attest to the strength of their bite, even at about 10 inches. I've been bit several times by one of our Tegus, I guess he just didn't like me lol. Every time I'd go to feed, clean, and water, he'd run out of his hide, and nail me. Sometimes I'd be quick enough to get my hand out of the way, but most of the time I'd find my hand locked in his jaws lol. But, they were still really cool lizards, and I respected them and admired them.
I bought an Argentine Tegu about a year ago. He is still an awesome animal. he does require a lot more stimulation than you would think for a lizard. He will often try to escape his enclosure. I let him out to roam the house every once and awhile. The enclosure is massive, and requires constant care. They poop alot and pee more often. However, they can be trained to stay calm when you pick them up to move them. he does not like being picked up, but I have to do it to move him upstairs. I'll be looking into the caiman lizard in the future.
*cries in two bearded dragons* well..beardies aren’t that bad I think they were the best choice for me. Just because they will climb onto your shoulder and stay there I instantly fall in love with every animal that does that
Can you do a video on surprises newby owners don’t expect I found no matter how much research I did when I got my first lizard there was still little things that surprised me
@@ClintsReptiles for my leopard gecko: sperm plugs! We took him on at an old age and we thought he might have a prolapse but it was just a stubborn sperm plug.
Clint's Reptiles When I first walked into my local pet shop the first thing I thought was well I have a 100 bucks I’m sure I can get myself all the stuff I need or get myself the enclosure but no that was completely wrong also I thought that my crestie although he’s a little tame I expected me to get him and in a week he’d be like a dog and would never try to get away also I thought I would also have problems keeping my creative warmer since my house is usually very cold but my air conditioning cut out and I found myself having to put multiple ice packs on the enclosure
Clint's Reptiles Also I couldn’t find any good and consistent information on the females laying eggs and I also found out that they can lay fertilized eggs without ever being near a male
Caiman lizard is one of my dream reptiles! I live in FL so tegus are illegal anyway unfortunately. But I think I could build an amazing enclosure in a Florida room. One day!
We had been making videos for a while before I learned that people actually make a living on UA-cam. Somehow this money and my tiny graduate stipend don't yet afford me the ability to travel. Maybe someday soon I can buy pizzas that cost more than $5 😁
We have a full grown Argentine Tegu. My girlfriend was walking by him he charged her mouth wide open and got her ankle and began to shake. We later on found out that it was his breeding season as well as my gf was on her monthly thing. Tegus can pick up on that.
Ah, the 5kg lizard doing the crawling down the back thing. Been there, done that, had the wheals for two days. Tegu can really bite - my male caught the inside of my right knee, and I couldn't walk for two days from the bruising. They have very powerful jaws. Caiman lizards are a teiid species - along with the Amieva and the little whiptails.
I would pick the caiman lizard because I would like a huge aquaterrarium for one, I am actually making one for a mountain horned dragon because I like them and I read that they like swimming and soaking. Amazing vid by the way!!!
Thank you! Me too. It was hard for me to see how to make them better, but I think Will pulled it off. The guy has some wizard skills on the computer (perhaps in real life as well...)
Snake Discovery have a good alternative to an aquarium - for their croc they use a children's pool with a canister filter with a heater in the return pipe.
I’d love to see a video about how reptiles sense their world. Why do lizards have forked tongues? Why don’t snakes have ears but lizards do? They’re so fascinating!!

I love how Clint is loving up on the lizards and petting them like you would a dog.

I love the man-lizard bond between Clint and Gus-Gus! 😍😍😍. Also, congrats, Clint! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much. Gus Gus has been an amazing lizard. I sure love that guy.
Clint gets to play with Gus-Gus and two other friendly, scaly doggos in this video. Must have been a fun day. :)
I think my spare bedroom needs a tegu. 😊
The new thumbnail is gorgeous
Thank you. Will has been doing them and I think he's doing a really fantastic job. I love them too!
Thumbnail game ELEVATED (insert cat calling 😉😻)! Well done, Sir! 😍😍😍
This was Will's doing. I agree with you completely. He's a wizard!
Ya I noticed that immediately. It's good work.
Thx for the shoutout!
Of course, thank you for allowing us to show off your amazing lizards!
The Reptile Project I love Clint’s and your videos
Who would win?
Scaley water doggo vs scaley panda puppo
We put them head to head!

Blue(/red) tegu vs argentine tegu maybe?
That would be a killer comparison. I don't even know which would win.
They are not that different other than the colors. There is a huge difference between a colombian and an argentine though.
Blue small. Red slightly larger than black and white
They are both absolutely gorgeous reptiles!

I can watch a new tegu video every week
Always great info. I like how you explain the pros and cons.
I like that the caiman lizards have those bumps on their backs tbat make em look like dinosaury crocodiles and they win because of that in my book
