Ideally, we’d all have the time to prepare healthy, homemade meals and sit down to eat them mindfully, but given how busy we are today, it’s not surprising that meal replacement shakes, bars and snacks have grown in popularity exponentially over the past several decades. Unfortunately, most conventional meal replacement shakes contain many dangerous additives.
In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, I share the 6 dangers of conventional meal replacement shakes, such as synthetic vitamins, artificial sweeteners and more, as well as how these toxic ingredients affect your body and a few better, healthier options to try instead.

Our grandparents and great-grandparents did have to worry about toxins. the pure food and drug act was passed In 1906 after a massive, countrywide uprising by mothers who were outraged by the terrible effects of food they bought the stores on their children. Arsenic was used as a coloring agent. Formaldehyde was put into milk to keep it from spoiling. Literally thousands or millions of people died from the toxins that rent food before the government started regulating what you put into food you sold in grocery stores.
The struggle against the greed of the rich and the chicanery of many has been around a long time.

Well I was sick vomiting up all foods and smoothies due to gastritis (started from keto!) and I could ONLY drink boost, high protein. I felt better and lost 26 pounds in a month. I did exercise daily towards end of june when I felt stronger. I've never felt better on boost alone and occasionally a hard boiled egg. I have no thyroid due to uncontrolled graves disease. Food is my enemy. 😢

I make your anti-inflammatory green smoothy pretty regularly. It was a bit sludgy the first time I made it, but I blended it for quite a bit longer the rest of the times & it turned out great. As an added bonus, I found out I now like green apples & celery, both food items I thought I really did not like / hated for most of my life. I think now that I'm more used to eating sour foods & maybe candida is dying, I can actually appreciate the more subtle delicious flavors in food.
It makes me feel great & I even drink the whole smoothie, which is made for 2 people. It seemed weird to drink a whole lemon, and the first time it made my teeth feel a bit sensitive, but I've had no problems ever since. Very good smoothie! By the way, yours calls for juicing, I just blend it like crazy in my Vitamix & it turns out great.

I would have purchased something from you or your website. However, I dislike immensely how pushy your marketing is on your website. I experienced 8 different pop-ups in site in less than 10 minutes and multiple marketing buy with in the next 30 minutes and get blank percent off of your order - ORDER NOW. Your cart will only be kept active for 30 minutes, at this point and time I was not surprised to see a countdown ticker for that cart timer. It was like being forced to participate in an interactive infomercial. I appreciate what you are trying to convey, I certainly do. Also, there are way too much written opinion on the actual product pages. There were about 3 pages of statements preceded by the + icon, which means it has not been substantiated - on any nutritional label - notably this was not on your ingredients but on everything which I had to scroll through to get to the information I was actually looking for about your products. Overall, I found your website made me cringe and was pushy - like a sweaty overweight used car salesman wearing too much cologne.

Unfortunately and I don't want to actually say it but the majority of people are ignorant to their health! they just don't care! spoiled by commercials and being manipulated by their environment they are not aware of their responsibility for their OWN bodies especially to their children!!!! I tried but most of my friends just ignore me saying I'm a freak that just wants attention! The fact is all media states to the opposite direction! really sad! I only have one friend who is actually aware of what he is eating and taking care of his body! Guess most People have to go through diseases or obesity in order to start a healthy diet and some people still don't change! Honestly I tried really hard and now I just don't care anymore!

Make a smoothie using kale or some leafy green veggie, plus whatever fruit you can get.
Want extra power and have extra coins to invest on it? Chia or flax or hemp seeds. If using flax seeds, make sure they're ground into powder first, which you can usually do in your own machine and then empty out and start with larger ingredients first. If using chia seeds, soak 'em for a couple of hours first.
Hey presto: Your own "meal replacement" drink... with no saturated fats, no trans fats, and no cholesterol, and instead of the inflammatory effects you'd get with bone broth or any other animal product, you actually get ANTI-inflammatory effects. ... And if that is a real area of concern or interest for you, add in a little (preferably fresh) ground turmeric and/or ginger.

Also, you didn't mention maltodextrin which is a really common mix additive that isn't very good.

I'm struggling to get my goal of 150 grams of protein while keeping my carb intake at 110.. I am eating sardines, salmon, avacodos, pumpkin seeds, almonds. Basically all the things high in protein without eating beef pork or dairy. So is it possible to reach my macros and not eat meat other than fish?

I am an active 56 year old triathlons. Am lactose intolerant and am currently adding in a lactose free whey protein but am seeing an increase in asthma symptoms. Trying to build muscles. What protein do you suggest to replace it and still see muscle gain? I have hoshimotos and am taking daily pig thyroid supplement. Am trying to wean off of that.

It would be great if you listed your recipes . Is it safe to take amino acids if they're bought at the health food store? Mississippi Market or Whole Foods? Ever since I've been watching your posts I quit artificial sweetener in my coffee. I also bought a juicer.
My first smoothie was with Kale, arugula, black berries, raspberries', blue berries, spiralina, bone broth powder. It was great !
    Thank you.

How do you know if they are synthetic? I'm older and take several vitamins. I was diagnosed with malnutrition and dehydration. I never get green foods. I microwave most everything. I do eat tuna, sardines and herring fillets from a can. Hard when older and disabled to get good food. I also, drink Ensure. Tyvm.

Are there any issues associated with consuming liquid foods too frequently as opposed to solids?
Lastly, I thought probiotics in yogurt and kefir get denatured from pasteurization?
