    Thanks for sharing your experience with the D38. My video was putting everyone on to it and had it selling out. I love that you appreciate it for the same reasons I do! Miss you on the watch parties but I know you're busy now with school! Be blessed!

    GOOD COMPARSION. I have both and I tend to use the Denman D38 more, mainly because of the feel of the brush.

    I just got the Denman D38 and really like it. I was using the tangle teaser but like the denman better.

    I have a looser texture, barely even curly, and I love my wet brush dupes (I buy everything on the cheap LOL). They are amazing for my texture. I even did away (well, put it to the side) with my wide tooth combs, because this brush doesn't snag at all and I am tender headed. Not even the Tangle Teezer (dupe, of course LOL) can compare. And yes, I had a real Tangle Teezer at one point, 3 in fact, and nope, not looking back. For dry as well as wet hair, it is awesome. I do have one for dry detangling pre-wash (saves my drain so much) and for wet detangling during and after, before styling. Due to using a lot of stylers, I get lint on the brush I use for dry detangling. And I don't then want to put that in my clean hair. I never could get along with "regular" Denmans (oh man that tugs so bad) but this paddle one looks promising... and here I go again. Stick with what works, girl. ;) :p

    The bristles are sturdy but the cushion is flexible in a good way. Some brushes like EZ brush aren’t flexible but are just flimsy and get stuck in ur hair

    My hair is naturally wavy at a 3a thick and I have difficulty finding a brush that glides through without pulling. Thanks for your video I will give these a try!

    I've avoided paddle brushes because I was kind of afraid they would damage my hair, but now I want to try that Denman 😭

    I can get through my hair quicker with a brush but Ugh I’m not gunna lie, when I brought brushes into my regimen, There was noticeable breakage over time. the small seams on the bristle are crazy. I wanna save on time but I don’t want this breakage 😩, gunna try n see if I can hone in on my detangling.

    Looooove my Phillips flexx!!! I've had it for years and it's definitely cheaper than the curl keeper brush in the vid. Detangles wonderfully for me😁
    Bristles have def hung in there--I bought a replacement and have yet to open it yet.

    I got the Phillips brush. it’s like $13. The way you described the curl keeper, I think it’s the same. I love it but I prefer something like the original Felicia leatherwood brush ( not the new one) because the bristles are more sturdy and the handle is wide. I have had the Phillips brush for over a year and the bristles are still in the same shape. They aren’t really bent out of shape like say the $5 conair paddle brush you can get at any store. I think it’s because the base of the bristles is more solid.

    If it’s hollow it means it’s not holding water in it to mold. You have to take denmin apart and clean it.(I don’t think ppl know that they have to clean the inside).

    I have the d38, the curl keeper, and the Phillips flexx. I've had the d38 for about 6 months. Half the bristles are gone. It's not a long lasting brush but it does work well. My only complaint besides that is that it doesn't really go all the way through your hair if you you are doing larger sections or have very thick hair. It's a really good brush but its not worth it for the price. The curlkeeper and the Phillips flexx are newer to me. I got them to replace the d38. The Phillips is about $13 or so. They look and work the same. I really like both so far and they seem sturdier than the d38. The bristles are built into these brushes but the d38 they are inserted into the paddle so they loosen over time and pop right out. When I need a replacement brush in the future, I will probably it go with the Phillips simply because it's cheaper and works just as well as the curl keeper. The only con so far for both is the non-enclosed back. I can see them holding water, even after shaking it out, and getting moldy. Some of the reviews on Amazon complained about that. Time will tell.

      Hey please could you update us on how your brushes are doing? My d38 bristles came out and I felt the bristles were too strong from my medium to fine hair.

      @@PreppyFay12 Hi, of course. The d38 is completely in useable. I wouldn’t but it again. It’s not bad if you don’t mine repurchasing constantly. I’m currently using the Phillips brush and still love it. I gave the curl keeper to my sister and she loves it as well. Both are great brushes but I will repurchase the Phillips simply because it’s cheaper. They really are the same exact brush.

      @@lanndhese101 Super helpful thanks! Yeah I stopped using the d38 myself and just bought two more Phillips Flexy brushes so I’ll be set for when it eventually needs a replacement. I’m also eyeing the Style Queen beauty brush which looks very similar. She’s a natural stylist who specializes in tight textures so I’m curious if the quality of her brush is longer lasting. I’ll ask Kayla and see if she’s be interested in trying it out for us.

      @@WhatTheKink Thank you yeah I be checking in the videos to see what brush you use 👀👀👀 and I do see them rotating that’s good to know. That Phillips Flexy I’m trying to get back on that train personally. It’s the most gentle on my hair and doesn’t get caught like my hair does on the the Wet Brush brushes unfortunately. I just need to replace it yearly since I don’t have a rotation of brushes.

    I’m scared to brush my wet hair 😬
    I’ve only ever used a wide tooth comb and so much hair comes out. 💇🏽
    Also, how often do you wash/detangle your hair?

    • @WhatTheKink
      @WhatTheKink  3 роки тому +2

      How long are you going between Detangling sessions? The longer you go, the more shed hair accumulates. Shed hair is totally natural. Also, brushes are more effective at getting all the shed hair out.

      I wash my hair every Saturday too. But by Tuesday my scalp is itchy. But I wait until the weekends to wash.
      I do a wash hour; 10 mins to shampoo and 10 mins to deep condition (while showering). 30 mins to detangle (out the shower), 10 mins to retwist.
      I wash and keep my hair in 6 twists btw.

    ahhh i've been waiting for this!!! I've had it for mmmm 8 months? and it's still holding up well (except for the rose gold embossed logo is starting to rub off, sad) my only thing is that the handle is not comfy, i so sorely wish it was. I was in the market for something like that because my hair was getting caught in the ball tips of the evolve brush.
    questions for you: do you carry a tail comb with you to the shower to get the side part? and how do you keep them not puffy when drying? my part tends to disappear as it dries. I'm about to try those roller clips to keep them separated but I wonder what's the fool proof way to go about it.

    • @WhatTheKink
      @WhatTheKink  3 роки тому

      This is “black folk blasphemy” but...I don’t own a rat tail comb...😬 I get that part by parting with my pointer finger. It helps to gel the part down a bit as well.
