I have some updated thoughts. So I highly recommend no matter what tools you use to have fresh trimmed ends or healthy ends with minimal knots and tangles. My damaged and tangled ends really effected how the brush performed. On healthy trimmed ends I felt the Kazmaleje worked better than expected. I have shorter detangling sessions with the Kazmaleje now that my ends are in a better condition. I still think the Denman gets more shed hair out but I would still start with Kazmaleje and then go in with another throrough brush like the Denman.

That purple brush reminds me of an old school brush that Avon used to make... It was a solid hard plastic one piece brush very similar to the purple brush/comb... I've looked for it everywhere, even on ebay... It was my favorite and it was unbreakable lol... I loved that brush... I may have to get this one. Thanks for the demo

I have both. I like the Deman for detangling outside the shower( on damp hair) with a leave-in conditioner; I do this when I 'm preparing my hair for a braid-out. The Kazmaleje brush is better for detangling wet hair in the shower for a wash-n-go. I like that it is faster so I don't have to stay in the shower longer, so the styling process takes less time (this excludes the drying process lol).

I have them both because they we both gifted to me. (Speaking of - I haven't forgotten to send you what I said I would. Just life...) Anyway, back to the tools. I have a whole arsenal now that I pull out every wash day. I have the complete Kamaleje set, the D38, the FL, & the Tangle Teezer. I never use them all in one wash day. My previous style, which type of pre-poo I use, whether I'm in or out of the shower - soaking wet hair vs damp, the amount of slip in my DC, whether I'm blowing my hair out, what style I'm planning to go into, etc all play a role in what I grab. The D38 & the Kazmaleje always come into the shower with me. I mostly use my Tangle Teezer while styling if I'm using Gemini Naturals color gel so I don't have to wash the color from my other tools. At this point, I want to wear a blindfold and not even SEE the next great tool that comes out lol!

I like the Kazmaleje brush on my daughter’s hair, it gets through pretty well and she has very very dense hair. But I do find that it leaves behind quite a bit of shed hair, I tested it with going in with the Felicia leatherwood afterwards. I wonder if the D38 catches more shed hair.

I've spent literal hours trying to decide which brush I want to buy. I have long detangling sessions, and I want to shorten it somehow. I usually use a wide tooth comb, which has helped speed up time. Whereas before, I was using the tangle teezer paddle brush, which always tangled and ripped at my hair because of the small, tightly packed teeth. I have been thinking I wish someone came out with a comb brush so that I could detangle larger sections thoroughly and the kazmaleje brush is just what I wished for. I was thinking about getting the denman paddle because the teeth are longer and more spread out than the tangle teezer since I always use it to smooth my hair after detangling with my wide tooth comb anyway, but I think the kazmaleje brush will be a better option after your pros and cons analysis. Thanks for showing us your experiment! Now I don't have to. 😂

I agree about the taggle teaser paddle brush. It was fine when I first started using it, but now that my hair is getting long and thicker, I noticed it pulling on my hair. I have to do very small sections to detangle to avoid ripping my hair out.

I love the Kamalaje, Part of my wash day tools. But I still have issues with tangling at my roots. If a bad wash day, have to bring out the notorious tangle teaser. I don't use it often. but NOTHING removes tangle as my roots like this tool. I have not found a tool yet to replace it (I've tried. lot). Due to mid shaft splits, safe it only for those bad wash days.
