I don't rate the leon cupra, seems slow compared to the likes of a 290, i smoked many clubsports and R in my 290 when it was stock, but the new leon cupra isn't as quick... i did a roll with a leon cupra in my formentor vz2 and i absolutely left it even though i'm like 200kg heavier with even more drivetrain loss... But when i roll with a 290 it leaves me.
Why is everybody so obsessed with a 400m drag "race". With those automatic gearboxes it's not a race. It's putting your foot on the gas and wait till it's over. The fastest car isn't therefore the most fun to drive. Handling, sound, the way the car communicate to you is what makes it's fun. But since 99% of the people never see a track they have no understanding of what makes a real fast car go.
Because when you are a boy racer (used to be one but grew out of it 10 years ago) you want the fastest car in the midrange and from a dig to accelerate past people.. that is why it is so relevant, and also why a lot of reviewers show 0-60 and rolling pulls. Most boy racers are like that in that they don't care to go to a track they just want to accelerate fast and "beat" people in a race!

all 3 of them are fantastic to drive. Still crazy how that Clubsport keeps pulling away ... But its true, even my TCR (rated with 290HP) pushes nearly 315HP with 98Oct. on the dyno. Good time to own hot hatches these days :D

But i build in a KW Clubsport 2way and RECARO Pole Position and a Remus exhaust and then then it was a really good Car! The Megane will get no tune. I have the Megane now 6 days. And Out of factory its a very good hothatch. Sound, Suspension, bodykit ist excellent.Engine ist also fine. For example in GP Hockenheim Track (Sport Auto Test) its the fastest Car in the class. Faster then Golf 8 R, Golf 8 Clubsport, Cupra Leon, Civic Type R, or e.g. Audi S3, I30N The Megane with S007 tyres has driven the same time as the actual 420hp allwheel A45s (80tsd Euros) with normal factory street tyres.

besides your obvious joke, the horses on the germans are stronger because the actual power/torque curve is better on a 2.0 vs a 1.8 on the renault. Sure, the renault also has 300 horses and 400nm on paper, but those are delivered in a different way compared to the 2.0 in the vw.
Renault publishes engine power. I made a dyno of my Renault GT - power on wheels is way smaller than Renault claims. Probably, VW publishes real power on wheels.
Mégane RS Trophy had definitely THE killer look. Amazing. But it is 420nm not 400 so this is wrong. Unless it was not an EDC but a manual and this case that would explain why it's behind the other while it should not...
All Renaults are slow in acceleration on higher speeds. They just don't get that. It's almost their signature like Audisteer. That makes it more amazing how good they always perform even on fast tracks.

Jeah my lovely renault is slowest but i couldnt care less about straigt line speed. We have speed limits here and lots of Radard Controlls so i dont care about that. I think all 3 are better in corners than in straifgt line.

The clocks are usually automatically updated correctly on these cars.
The renault megane is heavier and with the lower engine displacement, I do not understand why renault did not use the old 2.0 of the previous magane also on this model

Renault une marque de vrai belle daube en drag race je parle, j’ai une golf 8 GTE stock et je met une misère à cette Renault RS tellement fort que j’ai pitié de cette boumbo à chaque fois que j’en croise une j’ai l’impression d’entendre son propriétaire pleurer et courir sous les jupons de sa maman pour réclamer la tétée. Par contre sur un circuit je suis sûr qu’elle cause et que certainement je n’en mènerai pas large.

I had 3 Years a(fast) Leon Cupra 300 and now next weekend I get my 4Rs Trophy 🙂 I will see how it compares during the years
