@concordemachspeed24 Cause it's actually unsafe, Tlauncher is pretty shady which is why alternatives such as TL legacy or Sklauncher are seen as the better options.

@@zumzumcsavoyt: Simple Google search. "Disabling composition completely might lead to better input lag. You can do that by checking: System Settings -> General -> Disable compositing"

Some advice your better off running Minecraft on a desk top PC with a GPU because you're going to have better drive support and also by the way if your using windows use tiny 11 or 10. But do note that your CPU architecture is not really designed for windows 11 and an SSD would be a useful upgrade
That isn't a windows xp laptop... It literally says designed for windows vista. I'd like you to actually try a early 2000s laptop and see how it goes. My 2003 dell precision m60 gets around 90fps (with stuttering) on 1.8.9
From personal experience, move "designed for vista" laptops are just a horrible experience on vista, and will perform better on either xp or 7, like 7 is just more optimised vista(I know it's actually quite different, but they're very close compared to others), so if it's a low end vista laptop, xp will perform beautifully, if it's high end, 7 will probably be half decent too

Back in 2016, I actually used to play Minecraft with a Core 2 Duo CPU, 1GB DDR2, ATI Radeon X1300 Series video card and a sketchy launcher on Windows 7. It was totally playable if you installed Optifine. I have gotten rid of that computer by now, but if anyone wants to know how well it runs with modern versions, you are free to hunt down these components and build a similar specced computer.

Yeah to be fair, maybe I was a little bit unfair on vista, I had it on my PC back in the day and it was fine for me.

in certain situations though

You can try to add a low graphics resource pack like a 4*4 px or 8*8

Bro you have to go into the video setting then press shift + p on your keyboard to go back to the main menu were you can lower your resolution.
for the oldium issue you should be able to press shift + p to go back to the old gui and change the resolution

i used to play 1.8.9 on 1gb ram and intel celeron on windows 7 and had like 200-300fps 720p?
Quick tip for if drivers claim to only work on a certain version, is to install that older version, and then upgrade the windows install to a newer version
I had to do that on an old tablet pc that only had windows 8ndrivers, that refused to install on 10, would complain alot if i tried to install them on a fresh windows 10 install, but installing 8, installing drivers, then upgrading to 10, kept the drivers installed and they still worked fine
I think that old tech still has a chance to shine 1000fps or 137 fps avg in hypixel but 2gb ram and runs minecraft on hypixel 137fps avg its amazing

Vista wasnt bad, it was poor drivers and after sp1 it was great.
Using a server can get you more fps, that's what i do for my Chromebook

man.. i have a hp 630 (its a familly laptop) that runs windows 7 and it cant even run minecraft! the specs are: a intel celeron CPU and 2gb ram and idk the gpu but it got 1gb of hard drive space

One thing that would've helped is if you disabled Windows Aero in Windows 7 (or ran the game in fullscreen mode)

Upgrade the specs put an ssd and atleast 4gb of ram also u should check if the cpu is socketed so u can upgrade it

Have you ever tried Chrome OS flex? It's faster than Linux on older devices from my experience. The only downside is I don't think it will run Minecraft on Chrome OS flex... I haven't tried that.
I've tried ChromeOS Flex in a video before and I don't think it's for gaming :/
