It just amazing of what LT is capable of inside a home garage without requiring a huge amount of specialty equipment and tools. Thanks for bringing us along and the great videos..
True statement. You know LT, I know you understandably want a shop, where you can take your build to the next level with lifts, specialized tools, etc. however maybe part of your channels ‘brand’ is showing us the quality, craftsmanship, and polished product that’s capable in a garage with parts store parts and tools? I at least appreciate what this channel is, and enjoy your projects……. Though I’m pretty disappointed you let go of the DINAN E39 (I’m probably on my own there) 😂
THIS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!! I'm mechanically inclined to a point, two things I won't touch, an automatic transmission and a rear. I'll change either. My man changed rear gears with the rear in the truck. What can I say my boy is NICE!!!!!!
This might sound dumb, but your videos bring back memories. I’m watching these videos with my 2 year old son and seeing him get excited over the sights sounds and sights makes me so happy. It feels like me and my dad watching overhaulin on a cold morning in the winter getting excited about what vehicle is being worked on. Thanks for the content and keep doing what your doing. So excited to see what’s in store for the fleet!
i had an 04' Silverado SS...for 13 years!!! besides brakes, bearings, and a water pump...that truck was impossibly reliable. i did service it by the book...and after 150k miles i did replace the leaf springs and front shocks to improve the road feel. anyone who knows 99-06 chevy trucks knows how bulletproof these things are.the SS's lq9 high compression 6.0, heavy duty transmission are a great combination...but that AWD system is what makes that truck " exotic " for lack of a better term. a ton of power in a heavy truck really needs to transfer power evenly as possible for a great launch.with the 4.10 gears and wide tires...that truck wouldn't even chirp the tires...i would just see the hood lift up in front of me as the truck grabbed the asphalt and just took off.it would confuse all those who pulled up next to me at a light for a race.i wouldn't always win...but i would always laugh at how close i was was when i lost. the set up here is awesome. unfortunately my truck got totaled after keeping after her for so long.they have me 15k for her...she was a gift that kept on giving my 17' Silverado midnight edition has no soul in comparison .its like my first wife died and i remarried.that chassis was excellent too...the "z60". I'd love to see this truck with an lsx 454( with carburetor) in all black...with the 90s SS quarter panel " 454 SS" decals...that would be my dream build.
I agree 100%. I feel like it's common knowledge among motor heads that the 6.0 is durable. But most people don't know to what extent. Had an 03 6.0 that I sold at 405k before I had it the tree service I worked for had it. 3 years: no oil change, 3 different drivers that tried driving it like a race toy, towing a skid steer and stump grinder at one time doing 80mph down interstate and general neglect. I bought the truck and when I tuned it up overdrive actually started working lol. Used a mixture of conventional 5w30, Lucas oil, and marvel mystery oil. Called it motor milk lol. I'm convinced there's not a gas burner with that many miles on the original engine that can take that amount of abuse. Maybe the Toyota 5.7.
They have been easily built to handle over 1000 HP. Since there is no tcm for the LS for the 8L90 or 10L90(sad) I'm thinking of a 6L90 built which removes the 1st OD gear and keeps the 2nd.
Love your vids LT! Been a fan since the start of the 8.1 truck. Your video on the information display from the Denali is probably my favorite. So helpful when I swapped an Escalade console into my 1500HD!
Wow, what a video, usually I don’t like music in videos but the way you put everything together kept my attention, what an awesome build, definitely cool to see it whoop so many coupes- I need to learn how to weld already
so glad to see that the GMT800 pickup truck after 25 years since its inception is MORE POPULAR THAN EVER! Forget the previous K2 and current T1, they're laden with sensors and all high tech crap you don't need!
@@LawrenceTolman Did you know back in the day when this truck was new there was an option for active suspension called ride control I had a truck with it it was pretty cool

I've enjoyed watching this build... I learned alot. I'm excited to see where u go from here. I know my opinion doesn't really matter, but I'd love to see u start with a 6.2 from a camaro. Maybe finish it off with camaro wheels and seats... kinda like the 67 c10 Foose built... wasn't crazy like this, but was a mix of a c10 and a camaro... I think that would be a fun direction.
Kudos for doing it on a 4.8l. Easier route and longer term a bigger displacement engine been an easier route, but shows can do big things with what got .
Kinda how I figured it would go. Converter helped offset the launch and then the longer gear let the 4.8 stretch its legs. Did sound like it may have bumped the limiter on the 2-3 but could have been my ears. Glad it is good to go.. now time to flog it at the track

One of your last videos, you outline your process of only doing it right and the best way possible. Making your channel essentially the opposite of the Finnegan channel and is the reason I can’t continue watching his videos. Thanks for setting the example of the right approach to doing projects.
this is an awesome video! i have a 2004 5.3 rcsb stepside silverado and want to refresh all the suspension upgrade the wheels and tires and get her up to date. good to see its possible
94 s10 ss 6l 4l60e transmission built by Vickers triple disc billet 3200 stall still NA upgrading fuel system to handle E85. Need to figure out how much injector next. For certain hp builds I like the 60's... 2 reasons really. Less parasitic loss and weight. I have found by keeping the 60's cool (around 140-150 on a 100 degree day in TN) they live a long life... heat just kills them. Great content and I love your truck LT!
