Glad you the kit worked out well! I was worried a second about the ride height working out correctly since there were a lot of moving parts (adding drop spindles, cut springs, coilover kit, etc) but was relieved once it all fell into place as it should. Looking forward to the video on the rear setup!
Neat, precise, and careful work - the little paint touch-up on the clearanced arm was a nice touch! So good to see that you obviously care about your customers' vehicles as much as you do your own. That Silverado is very cool and has changed my opinion about those OBS Silverados - I'd probably still prefer an older stepside C10 but that's not a bad looker.
Hi Laurence, I worked as an industrial nurse for several years and saw all types of injury. My own experience with wire wheels attached to grinders of all sorts is that wires snap and shoot at high speed. I have had sone penetrate into my legs through heavy work trousers. So yes glasses but better yet goggles when doing that work. Safety glasses don’t stop items deflecting of your cheek to the glasses then your eye, as was the case with grinder grit. I note comments about gloves and believe that they serve their purpose but selection of appropriate protective equipment needs agreement, multiple gloves may also prove to be their own hazard. Some of the disposable gloves present problems with sensitivity and in humid environments contribute to skin irritation and dermatitis. Everyone has an opinion about PPE but we all seem in agreement in protecting ourselves appropriately. I haven’t done any work with vehicles like you do but enjoy watching the content as there are always creative solutions to each situation. Keep up the good work
Face shield only. Cutting wheel, wire wheel, grinder it does not matter I wear a face shield. I used to comment every video to tell LT to wear a face shield lol
Congratulation on the growing work at the shop! Sad for us internet guys since there aren't two uploads a week, but I am sure everyone is rooting for your success. You asked if we would like to see just some regular shop stuff on your channel, I actually watch another channel that does a mix of shop stuff and projects. It's called Lucore Automotive. They seem to be growing and it is interesting to watch them diagnose things.
My lift and tire machines purchase as been my best investment yet!! I'm getting close to doing the suspension on my son's RCSB project on my channel too!! Keep up the good work, we live for this stuff!!
The Copo truck looked that nice if not nicer. Also........ PUT SOME SAFETY GLASSES ON WHEN USING A GRINDER OF ANY KIND WHEN THERE'S A WIRE WHEEL ATTACHED TO IT! YOU WANT TO LOOSE AN EYE WHEN A WIRE STRAND BRAKES OFF AND YOUR EYE IS IT'S TARGET? That said we now return you to your regularly scheduled program. 😁👍
Actually you should use a Face Shield when using a wire wheel. I have a Black dot Tattooed on my nose from a wire coming off of a wire wheel when brushing bolts.
Sorry about all the Loctite LT🤣 When I did the wheel hub assembly replacement I went a little crazy with it because I couldn’t figure out if torque specs were 80lbs or 139lbs so I used a generous amount of loctite and went with 80. So cool to watch you work on the truck! You are killing it! And yes I would notice if you swapped my wheels🤣
I love when it's just bolt it up and your done. I don't like bolting it up and it doesn't work or you have to really modify it. Lol. Looks great brother.
That’s a great looking truck! 99-06 GMC Sierra shorty stepside is my absolute favorite truck. The 99-02 chevys look good too. The 03-06 cat eyes look awful with stepside beds.
Just a quick note,. On my DIY Viking front coil-overs 1 turn = 1/4 inch on my unequal equal front A-arms. I’ve installed a few sets of Viking’s on front suspension and they all have been very similar.
I always take 2” shackles and re-drill the driver side rear to 1” drop. This tends to be better method to eliminate the “Lean” that these trucks have. You can use the CO adjustment to correct it, but it the truck will bounce around like a hulahoop on big dips in the road. Its nice to see Richard start using a tapered coil spring. Does is function as a progressive rate? I’ve always installed a jounce bumpstop on the coilover to bring back the factory progressive rate feel that gets lost when removing the factory rubber stop.
I've loved my viking shocks on my gen 1 Colorado it made it feel much more planted, although it was a pricey upgrade, it was worth it (planning on ls swaping it)
My steering wheel is very shaky while driving I think the whole truck is but I’m looking into a front suspension refresh I have new shocks for-sure getting tie rods anything else I should get before an alignment and new tires?
Loving it! I have a VERY similar truck. (Pewter Silver 2001 Silverado stepside, mine is also 6L swapped with a cam and bolt ons. And it is lowered.) I'm curious to know because I've heard conflicting things about drop spindles negatively affecting weight transfer. What did Richard (Atomic Fab) have to say about that? Also, I've heard of people flipping the upper control arms when using drop spindles + lower springs. Are you going to gap the rings in the 8.1L while you have it out to change the cam?
I have a question for you. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado. It has springs and shocks for the front suspension. Is that OEM I have a really rough ride and I don’t know what to do also it has a lift on it but I don’t see where it’s lifted, and I don’t have a torsion bar, could you give me some suggestions please on how to fix the bumpy ride really bumpy ride
If my truck is at factory height would this be a good swap for dropping it ? I just want the best to be able to be safe riding in it and have a nice stance on the truck
Can you post the diameter, width and the back spacing of the front and rear wheels. Also front and rear tire size . This is the perfect stance in my opinion and would like to do mine the same way !
Late to the show but enjoyed the video. I think you should look at adjusting the coil overs with a four corner scale instead of a tape measure. Just my opinion… Also, ditto to others on using a face shield around grinders and wire wheels! I use a dust mask under it, too.
Oil from a failed felpro oil pan gasket. Brand new and didn't hold. Gm OEM replacement going in when new trans is installed with a rear main seal as well.
I try to work on youtube projects at least a few hours a day, but a lot of my time is spend managing the shop and helping on the normal day to day jobs that come in.
With all that suspension work, what is the handling comparable to? Third gen camaro? A grand prix? I dont want to do all that suspension work to have it handle like a modern suv. Thoughts anyone?
Vacuum canister. Big duration cam causes low vacuum with the stock converter. Got a new 245mm 3600 stall converter and a built 4l80e goin in May 31st so didn’t care to replace the stock converter for the 4l60e in the meantime.
It helped a bit but if I go full tilt on the steering wheel I still lose vacuum and have to slam the brakes in reverse when parking. Not as bad as it was before the can but still not completely fixed. It is! Thank you! She is a work in progress!
It's been so long since I've messed with a stock GM "LS platform" truck I couldn't figure out what those dang wires were sticking out of the oil pan on the passenger side.. it came back to me though.😂
Hey they sell parts that would both to the frame the same way that shock does except it would come down to receive heim joint the only reason was it in the budget from buying those pieces and the double shocks
youtube quit recommending your videos i missed so much, so glad to see youve gotten far
Glad you the kit worked out well! I was worried a second about the ride height working out correctly since there were a lot of moving parts (adding drop spindles, cut springs, coilover kit, etc) but was relieved once it all fell into place as it should. Looking forward to the video on the rear setup!
I bet it felt amazing to completely do that standing upright. Great job LT

Congratulations on the the shop success, allready, and being able to find guys allready
Finding the right team is always the biggest challenge.
The next guy to work on those shocks is going to be thanking you for clearanceing that bolt. GG for thinking ahead LT. 👊🏻
I second that, it was absolutely a nice touch.
And the anti sieze!
The part thats even better is that with that quality im sure he will be the next guy still made his own life easier
That is a very nice front end kit
That's a clean truck! Nice work as usual
I checked and Atomic has this kit for the 88-98 K1500 4wd. It’s on my wish list now!
I have a 07 Classic Silverado 2wd RCSB on a 4/6 Beltech kit. But I LOVE the 99 to 02 bubble eyes.
Still love that step side. It’s gonna ride smooth.
My lift and tire machines purchase as been my best investment yet!! I'm getting close to doing the suspension on my son's RCSB project on my channel too!! Keep up the good work, we live for this stuff!!
Love this , same set up I have but with QA1s with cal tracks,
I did the 2020 brake upgrade on my 06 xcab. Talk about night & day difference. This coilover suspension is on my list too
What did you all change?
The Copo truck looked that nice if not nicer. Also........ PUT SOME SAFETY GLASSES ON WHEN USING A GRINDER OF ANY KIND WHEN THERE'S A WIRE WHEEL ATTACHED TO IT! My beard seems to catch every single wild wire flying off of the wheel..
Actually you should use a Face Shield when using a wire wheel. I have a Black dot Tattooed on my nose from a wire coming off of a wire wheel when brushing bolts.
Love the build.

Surprised he left the part in of dropping the passenger hub 4 ft to the concrete floor. 😬
Yeah I did see that, they are warrantied by TRQ but I’m sure they are going to be okay. They are beefy.
@@MovingToads yep they handle 5k lbs going over bumps at 70 while spinning who knows how much rpm. A small drop aint doing shit.
@@timothycarey3883That makes me feel better!
That’s your truck brother??
I love when it's just bolt it up and your done. I don't like bolting it up and it doesn't work or you have to really modify it. Lol. Looks great brother.
LT can you make a video about the effects of lowering a vehicle suspension and how to correct it with an alignment machine.
That’s a great looking truck! 99-06 GMC Sierra shorty stepside is my absolute favorite truck. The 99-02 chevys look good too. The 03-06 cat eyes look awful with stepside beds.

Nice to see new quality parts.
🌏🇭🇲
Do you know what light setup that is for the headlights? Looks like a Z71 fog light valence. Sweet truck!
Z-offroad sells the headlights and yes z71 valence with fog lights is correct
Apologies if this has been answered, but will you gap the rings in the ugly truck when you have the motor apart?
The caliper pusher backer tool is the shizzz. I highly recommend it over a C-clamp.
Technical Name on point !! Well done.
Hmmm, I'm not a Chevy guy, I'm not a street truck guy, but somehow I still watched this whole video.
Nice work LT.
Keep it up LT!! Clean work as always!
I've loved my viking shocks on my gen 1 Colorado it made it feel much more planted, although it was a pricey upgrade, it was worth it (planning on ls swaping it)
nice wheels and tires combo. What are they?
Thanks! Cosmis xt-006r 20x9.5+10 wheels and 275/40ZR20 Sumitomo HTR Z5 tires
My steering wheel is very shaky while driving I think the whole truck is but I’m looking into a front suspension refresh I have new shocks for-sure getting tie rods anything else I should get before an alignment and new tires?
Any chance some Dodge Vipers will make their way to the shop?
Those headlights/signals are slick! Can you ask the customer to share what they are?
Yes I need to know
Loving it! I have a VERY similar truck. (Pewter Silver 2001 Silverado stepside, mine is also 6L swapped with a cam and bolt ons. And it is lowered.)

Are you going to gap the rings in the 8.1L while you have it out to change the cam?
I had a new red 00 5.3 red regular cab stepside that I dropped 3/5 and put 20’s on it when 20’s were just coming out. Wish I still had that one.
I have a question for you. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado. It has springs and shocks for the front suspension. Where can I get those headlights? I would love them on my truck.
I have a question for you is your shop located in Las Vegas and where is it
Tahoe Z71 lower front valance or Hella? As stated last week stance is perfect.
Z71 lower valance, thank you!
If my truck is at factory height would this be a good swap for dropping it ? I just want the best to be able to be safe riding in it and have a nice stance on the truck
Motion raceworks has the complete front-end conversion kits along with the rack and pinion for OBS and NBS trucks for only $4,700 😮
Seriously??
@Lawrence LT Tolman If you're autocrossing why not run a 4 link with watts link?
Dose the wheel still fit with ?
You do tires and alignments?
Hello, can you please show how you do the Alignment using those plates. Thanks
Bad ass truck
Eye protection with the wire wheel my man! Those stray wire brushes flying off no joke for the eyes
Wat did u out the rebound and compression?
Where can I buy the racket that hold the spring strut?
nice work ..
Nice work ❤️ 👍
RCSB *chefs kiss
LT why didn't you paint the spindles?
Can believe you didn't wear your safety glasses with that wire wheel... You crazy
Found the video so my neighbor can install my suspension yayyy
Can you post the diameter, width and the back spacing of the front and rear wheels. Also front and rear tire size . This is the perfect stance in my opinion and would like to do mine the same way !

i would totally trust you to work on my car. good for you with your own shop 👍👍
Nice work. I have to ask what is the truck leaking.
Oil from a failed felpro oil pan gasket. Brand new and didn't hold. Gm OEM replacement going in when new trans is installed with a rear main seal as well.
Thank you I though it mishandled been a pan gasket.
What's the whole kit.?
Great video as usual thanks missed the updates
Hi lawrence how many shop projects do u a day and do you ever get to your UA-cam projects whenever you get a chance
I try to work on youtube projects at least a few hours a day, but a lot of my time is spend managing the shop and helping on the normal day to day jobs that come in.
Will you be having apparel for sale soon. Would like to get a LT performance t-shirt to help you grow
I have the same truck , i wish to be able to do the whole suspension some day . Those wheels are 🔥 . I want some like that?.
That’s one sweet truck! Looks like she needs a rear main done though. 😢 still killer pickup. Sheww
It’s the felpro oil pan gasket, it’s being replaced by a gm oem gasket when the new trans goes in as well as a new rear main just to be sure
With all that suspension work, what is the handling comparable to? Third gen camaro? A grand prix?
I dont want to do all that suspension work to have it handle like a modern suv. Thoughts anyone?
LT, u converted from torsion bars to coil-overs on ur new drag frame. Isn’t that why u did a the fab work? This Silverado didn’t have torsion bars.
That is true, the torsion bar conversion does take a few extra steps
Any buddy know where I can get a good quality coil over suspension for a 2and gen 1500 rcsb wanting to build a performance truck out of it
? What's part # & brand on lower control arms
Do you have to flip the ballJoint?! I know some spindles that is a requirement……
Nope, still uses the original ball joint orientation
Was that a catch can or a vacuum pump on the left side of the engine bay
Vacuum canister. Big duration cam causes low vacuum with the stock converter. Got a new 245mm 3600 stall converter and a built 4l80e goin in May 31st so didn’t care to replace the stock converter for the 4l60e in the meantime.
@Dominique Lord ok sweet I was curious I may need one for my new setup on my truck Is this your truck by chance? If so, it's very clean
It helped a bit but if I go full tilt on the steering wheel I still lose vacuum and have to slam the brakes in reverse when parking. Not as bad as it was before the can but still not completely fixed. It is! Thank you! She is a work in progress!
Nice work so far. Maybe a hydroboost conversion to alleviate the need for vacuum?
Thank you! I have heard about those conversions but haven’t looked into it. I’ll have to do some digging.
Fix that Oil leak while you got it as well, Lol.
2👍's up LT thank you for sharing
what are those headlights
It's been so long since I've messed with a stock GM "LS platform" truck I couldn't figure out what those dang wires were sticking out of the oil pan on the passenger side.. it came back to me though.😂
Dang, can't see where about your shop is as I'd be interested in asking you work on my Silverado too.
It be Nice if they had something for that GMT400 chassis.
Repointing the Cletus hoodie 🙌🏻
I’m old school, I used a 8 inch C clamp.
9s for the ugly truck, it can be done! I love you took that business and got it kicked in to gear, great to see.
Nice Vid
Tell your customer I'd be glad to help out with suspension setting's etc if he needs any!
Will do man!
You’re the best
What about alingment???
Tapes off control arm to paint it but doesn't wear glasses with a wire wheel 😂
U dont have to weld anything?
I can say I haven't seen a set of what I assume is billet hub rings like that before they have always been plastic
exelente video mi amigo saludos
Hey they sell parts that would both to the frame the same way that shock does except it would come down to receive heim joint the only reason was it in the budget from buying those pieces and the double shocks
Needs the 2019+ front brakes
With any bench or hand grinders face Shields are required too by OSHA. You have a shop now, you better learn the OSHA regulations
Lt. Gordon Malloy!? maybe his brother? Where in CO did you move? I’m in Littleton.
I wish i could find somthing like this for a sst
Lawrence love you and your content but lets do something other than suspension.....lets do some RPM's
nice!
LT you are running a shop now, you need to use your PPE as bad as you hate it as much as me. OSHA will come in there and make your life intolerable.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Must be really nice working on stuff thats not rusted on, and have to cut it off
The rotors are on backwards. They are supposed to be crossed
The rotors are on correct. I did them with my brother brand new while stickers for location were still on. Orientation in the video is correct.
I apologize. Some have rotational stickers that have them the other direction
@@chesterbryant5440all good!
