Hey did you hear about commissar Yarrick death (I heard that it was the Demon Primark Aggron that did him in)
Always love content regarding the Farsight Enclave.
Back to back videos it's been awhile love it
Joseph is the best. The only one to fight naztis.
tbh; i was kinda more enthralled by staring at the sleeping dogs on your bed
Farsight realized melee battles with Orks give you plot armor, thus is the most effective strategy.
Possibly tru given what we know about orks
Might also be some Waaagh BS making melee combat the optimal method of fighting logic and reason be damned.
I mean if you think of it, mobile battlesuits are actually really useful at melee range. Being as agile if not more than an ork, able to utilize larger weapons with greater force, while being very protected.
And they painted their armors red, making them really fast
He also realized that putting a Sword on a battlesuit unlocks it's true potential. He then had a moment where he remembered all his friends and the promises he made to protect them. Powered up he jumped up from defeat with his new sword, made some line about how he would "protect his people" and proceeded to kick ass forever.

I've always been annoyed that the tau get hit with the weeb card, but the eldar get a pass bc reasons. those MF's have literal gundam titans, are aided by the spirits of their ancestors, use guns that shoot razor sharp ninja stars, and each one has probably studied the blade longer than you've been alive. If the eldar were a faction that was released today, the community would collectively throw a anti weeb temper tantrum so large it would birth a new chaos god.
Also, they're elves.
Not even Gundam, but full on Evangelions.
@@sneedclavehere8918 yes. Farsight is just The red comet 40k. Red Mobile suit and all
@@sneedclavehere8918 Unpopular opinion: I don't really see as much anime inspiration in the tau. Yeah I can tell it looks like that but I have to be pointed out. The eldar is just too obvious.
Eldar is one of the best, classic, aesthetically pleasing factions. Also, they're more lawful good than Tau.
Also they know how to wear frigging shoes. Imagine having mecha but not shoes.

You finally condensed what 40K is into a single sentence.
So you're telling me that Farsight found his secretly evil sword on a planet named *Arthas* Moloch

Cool crossover.
Just got one criticism for your part. Tech Heresy is NOT dumb, and you are NOT dumb if you believe in it.
See, Chaos? It's subtle when it wants to be. VERY subtle, and it makes doing anything new technology speaking an uphill battle at best. You make a new model of lasgun that hits as hard as a bolt, yay for you right?
The circut pattern in the gun forms an unknown mark of Khorne, and now that lasgun is either possessed, or otherwise slowly corrupts it's owner. Just check out the Gaunts Ghosts novels for a pretty good example of this sort of thing as well as a good explanation as to what caused the Men of Iron Rebellion.
The Tau don't really need to worry about that due to their weak to non existent Warp signatures, but for everyone else it's a major issue that slows things down tremendously. (Unless you're the Orks, in which case things like this are a feature.)

I don't mind the Tau poisoning the Tyranids. It's literally the same plot point from Dawn of War II. I can't imagine the poison working on all Tyranids, but poisoning the Tyranids is a thing.
well at least the tyrannids aren't an endless horde of doomsdays.
Can Nergal make something to kill them all?
@@josephpa05 yes and no its not a problem for nurgle to create something that kills nids really effectively but with the hive mind and super adaptability its highly unlikely to wipe out more than 1 fleet at a time chaos also hasnt shown much intrest in tyranids and vice versa tyranids dont strenghen chaos in any way + shadow in the warp and chaos is mostly demons so not really cost effective in the biomass department they loose more biomass fighting chaos than they gain also nids are weary of chaos since it could be an actual threat to them if i remember correctly they have some sort of measurs to mend breaks in reality spewing out warp entitys
@@josephpa05 no. The tyranids can adapt too fast to any toxin. Thjs case was possible due to the hive fleet being small (relatively)
@@josephpa05 Not really, any mundane disease isn't likely to succeed long term against the Tyranids. Their genetics adapt too quickly and the Norn Queens of the hive fleets know how to isolate an infection and can sacrifices thousands easily to figure out how to make an immunity.
Conceivably a warp fuelled sorcerous disease could work, but the issue there is it loses efficacy the further from the warp/chaos rifts you get and would have to contend with the shadow in the warp and Tyranid psychic creatures as well.
Pretty much the only place it has a shot is isolated pockets of Tyranids on Chaos worlds where there isn't enough of them to have an overpowering presence in the warp.
Sadly, those are typically worlds the hive fleets tend to ignore because chaos energy doesn't translate into usable biomass for them to consume. They generally only go after said worlds as a form of preemptive defense, since they could be a threat to a hive fleet's advance.
Still love that he's basically also just the Big Boss of 40k.
All Tau mechs are just better Metal Gears
Pretty good.
Arent’t Metal Gears Scout Titan size? I know REX is bigger and more massive than a Warhound at least. To Tau mechs get that big?
Also nobody in 40k has done an MGR and tossed a Titan yet. Seriously GW WTF? You’ve got FTL Custodes (because that’s perfectly fucking reasonable right?) give us some Rules of Nature!
@@Betrix5060 Ferrus Manus did take down a Reaver Titan analogue by taking out its leg tho that's pretty close.

I could see Guilliman trying to establish a military alliance with the Enclave in order to create a buffer state between the Imperium and the Tau Empire. I could even see a certain unlucky commissar with god-tier plot armor serving as the Imperium's official liaison.
Much as that would be interesting the sad fact is (and this is from a tau player) the Tau, especially the enclaves, are just to small to bother with either as a threat or as a potential ally. Give it a few mellenia for them to crack cloning and a new ftl system to expand out, then they may be more than a small blip but right now i dont think it will happen.
Unfortunately, Ciaphas Cain is dead
@@floricel_112 Not officially. (I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Amberly staged Cain's death in order to permanently take him into her retinue.)
The Enclave is far too small to be worth having an alliance with, and has no where near enough territory to actually act as a buffer. Besides, the primary Tau Empire is already occupying Ultima Sector space, as part of their Fifth Expansion via the Startide Nexus.
If Guilliman was to try and make any diplomatic agreement or alliance with the Tau, I'd imagine it being with the main Tau Empire, with the intention of having them help him recover some of the territory he lost to the Dark Imperium.
In a sense, the Tau did unknowingly already help him out, when they accidentally "intercepted" the Death Guard invasion fleet that was attempting to attack Ultima. The DeathGuard were surprised to warp into Ultramar space and find the wrong kind of blue guys defending it. Everyone plays that event as a "hurr hurr, how do you like dealing with Chaos, you naive Tau", but really when you think about it, imagine how pissed off the DeathGuard must have been to have their long planned assault screwed over by some random nobody xenos, who for whatever goddamned reason had decided to construct a fortress and assemble a huge defence fleet right on top of the rift in the warp that the DeathGuard wanted to enter by.
They'd have gone back into the warp during their withdrawal asking, "Who the f*** were those guys? Those weren't Ultramarines! Why couldn't we sense the bastards in the warp before we arrived!? Has Gulliman bred an army of blue skinned blanks? They died just fine to Nurgles basic gifts, but they shrugged off every soul plague like they couldn't even hear it. WTF man... They totally ruined our sneak attack into Ultima."
Meanwhile the Tau are just, "What the f*** was that!? What the f*** was that!? That was horrible! Is that going to happen again? By Aun'Va's beard I hope not. I'm not sure this warp travel stuff the Imperials keep gloating about is all it's cracked up to be. Holy shit, they smelled so bad that I'm still in therapy about it."
@@UnknownSquidlol, you made me laugh a lot. That's really an interesting thing to think about hahaha
I personally like the theory that the Dawn Blade is actually the sword, "Anaris" also known as the sword of Dawn Light. It was the blade that was wielded by the ancient Aeldari hero, Eldanesh, who used the blade to dual the God Kaine himself when he was still whole.
Didn't Khaine shatter Anaris after killing Eldanesh?
@@Haloister I'm not sure? But if the original blade of dawn light was shattered and the Dawn Blade that commander Farsight has now is merely made from one piece of it then that could open doorways to story directions where Farsight could collect the other pieces to create an even stronger sword to fight even stronger Demons to save his people.
His story might even start mirroring Eldanesh story and he might even get into a fight with either Korn or more likely one of Korns greatest Champions.
@@Jack-0-lantern Could be, the shard of Anaris is a eldar relic weapon so it works out
Except that theory was debunked because his sword is Khornite, not Khainite. The longer Farsight has been wielding that blade, the more he's been getting nightmares of him turning into a blood raged berserker of khorne.

Straight from Lexicanum
"The name 'Shas'la T'au Kais' was also featured in the first person shooter for the PC and Playstation 2, which was later adapted into a novel: Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, the protagonist being a Tau warrior first fighting the Imperium, then the forces of Chaos. However, this Kais is unrelated to Shas'O Kais, as O'Kais was a student of Commander Puretide, who died before the Damocles Gulf Crusade, while La'Kais wouldn't even finish his basic training until 200 years after the Damocles Gulf Crusade".
Two things first the book itself is of dubious canonicity. Second O'Kais was in the most recent Tau Codex alive during the 42nd millennium.
In the 8th ed Codex, they imply that Farsight's sword isn't JUST one of Vaul's creations, but is one of the five Crone Swords of Morai-Heg.
Which, would be super interesting, as the Ynnari REALLY want all five Crone Swords to fulfil their prophesy
I bet Commander Farsight would just give it to them.
If I remember correctly, the Ynnari already have four of the needed swords. The fifth? Locked away with the Prince of Pleasure himself.

Definetly a pilot, since "piloting a battlesuit" is a quite common phrase in the sci-fi. Farsight enclave game would be cool, with space marine 2 on the way, who knows.
'Piloting' for crisis suits or bigger. 'Wearing' when its a stealth suit or smaller.
You don't wear Tau battlesuits, you sit inside a kind of cockpit and have a needle jammed into the base of your skull that supplies your control of your body with control over the battlesuit.

It’s just a neural net link that connects to your physiological system. Also this AI chip of commander Puretide is simply an amplifier of your cognitive and tactical reasoning abilities. Cool stuff, and is one of the many reasons I like the Tau.

@@valletasI loved that game when I was a kid, then I saw the mandy video after not thinking about it for years and... Wow, what on earth was young me thinking lmao
I mean Far sight did speak about how he isn’t the greatest fan of humans.
Long term Tau plans for humanity potentially seem to revolve around slowly killing it off after making them serve. This is one of the highest ranking military officers in Tau Empire, speaking to his officers in Blades of Damocles:
‘By a warrior’s tools you shall know him,’ quoted Farsight solemnly. ‘Just as the fire caste are defined by the Hero’s Mantle we all aspire to master, the Imperial soldiery is represented by the crude weapons you see here. In their hearts, they do not intend to engage at range, but to scrabble around in murderous close-quarters combat, stabbing and slashing. The most perfunctory of uniforms is the only thing separating them from their primitive, ape-like ancestors.’
A ripple of disquiet filled the holotheatre.
‘Such a barbaric race has no place upon a core sept world,’ continued Farsight. ‘They have no role in the universe other than to be brought to heel, culled and consigned to slow oblivion.’
And no I did not watch the entire video before posting this
No the Tau want to integrate humanity, especially their children who they mold into productive Tau citizens.
Just like the 4th Sphere Expansion.
I cant confirm this but im gonna assume its probably true, which is why i like the tau Empire more, they look after the humans and integrate them into the tau society, im sorry if im offending farsight fans but farsight will not accomplish that many great things, at least in a scale that would damage other factions greatly. İt has not been confirmed that ethereals use mind control and is just rumors, i think the reason tau value them is just because they have been taught that way, in their history ethereals helped uplift them as a whole, so when a ethereal meets them they probably feel like they met a hero. And yes i know ethereals did bad things like hiding the existence of demons, but how are you supposed to explain this without making the population go depressive, i mean hell even the imperium hid the existence of demons to not make people panic, i firmly believe the ethereals are trying to make their empire better, even if they have to hide some truths, because the other choice will lead their people to be hopeless, you cant just tell a soldier that the Empire we are fighting actually has like millions of planets while we only have a few thousand.
If you have seen the atrocities the Imperium have committed against the Tau this whole comment would be irrelevant.
Humanity in 40k are just like real life Monsters. Honestly the Farsight Enclaves should just kill all humans on sight especially after the shit I have read
but they won't be cause they want everyone to work together and I get it but Humanity are just the fucking worst
You make it sounds like a bad thing. The humans were pretty awful in 40k, farsight treated them the way he treats orks. Don’t get me wrong I’m no tau fan, but looking at the state of the galaxy and humanity as a whole, you can’t really blame him for coming to this conclusion?

It really puts into perspective just how bad the rest of the universe is by having that one pocket of good in it.
I really don't get why people hate the idea of genuinely good people/factions in 40k. Like the galaxy is still uber fucked up and will stay fucked up no matter how much good there is. wdym I love when my bulls have the most indescribable agonising pain every time I take a step just because of a minute cut
The horror elements of the Farsight enclaves and the Tau as a whole are less grimdark and more cosmic horror, around every corner is an unstopable ancient entity and they are always 1 mistake away from drawing the attention of something that could wipe them out
The good thing about the Tau is that they are so comparatively insignificant to the wider galaxy that most likely don’t even know they exist. If any other race caught on to the Tau’s potential, it would only take a single Tombworld of Necrons to wipe them out.

I disagree, it is pretty clear they represent an orwellian society in its most advanced and pure form. Like O'Brien described INGSOC as an organic entity, the Tau are more of a single organism than a faction of individuals, as they bow so completely to the ethereals in every aspect of their life. @@bobbirdsong6825 if the Tau were not individuals then Farsight never would have happened, and farsight has a group of individuals he fights with called The 8, additonally within the Tau empire there are still some like Shadowsun who hold their own personal motivations, the Tau are not like an organism at all, they are just traditional Sci Fi distopia and they do have the capacity to rebel as they occasionally do when new defectors join the Farsigh enclaves

Farsight Enclaves are unambiguously heroic now, but it's weird because he is like, otherwise blatantly evil-seeming
Like, they are a splinter group of traitor-warriors who follow a military commander and warrior, instead of an ethereal caste (Ie, someone who is a lot more of a diplomat) who helms a multi-species empire. On original publication, he had no alien allies, though this has changed. His warriors sport a blood-red paint scheme and use high-mobility blitz attacks. Farsight himself uses a potentially-daemon artifact that absorbs life, and the whole place is branded as essential "Tau Heretics." Farsight is also a pretty solid parallel of the Char Clone archetype from mecha series and Gundam in particular... And Char type characters are usually inspirational, but at least a maverick force (if not an outright villain)
I have to wonder, if when the Tau Empire was first made, if he was pitched as like "The Evil Tau" and just ended up the exact opposite as the series developed. Or, alternatively, if he was always intended to be this great and inspirational hero who was just like, blood red and war-focused
In the original lore from the 3.5 and 4e dexes, the sword was implied to be a C'tan phase blade of some kind. His sword, the Calidus' C'tan Phase Blades, and Necron Warscythes were the only melee weapons in the game during that era until the beginnings of 6th edition that ignored Invulnerable Saves.

Already commented on this video, but just wanted to add A) Great work on the video. B) Man, we really needed this faction. If everything is grimdark, nothing is grimdark, y'know?
The only thing the faction needs is an XV25 variant with Fusion Blades as a Troop Choice
Also people tend to forget that Ultramar is essentially a paradise system, the quality of life on many of its worlds for everyday imperial citizens way above standard. You don’t have to look that deep for pleasant parts of 40k, only have to look deep if you don’t like the Imperium
Absolutely loving these back to back videos!! Keep up the great work!
How did neither of you mention Char Aznable? The Red Comet who pilots mech suits and very much does not care for the leaders in charge of his faction?
It is integral to any dark story or setting to have bright spotsand room to breath every once in a while, the sense that things could get better will entice you to read on.
You're voice and delivery is incredible and I'm super glad you ended up in my feed.
15:27 A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON
I believe the dawnblade is more of a reference to stormbreaker, and if that's the case the blade is so haunted it will make the thing inside the blade of antwyr (a deamon so powerful that they need to dedicate the purest of purifiers, castellan crowe to constantly keep it in check) look pathetic in comparison. Just wait for a time when he can't kill enemies for a whole month and he will get mad, if not instantly die of old age.
Dude I've been subscribed and sharing your videos with my friends for the last 2 years. Love what your doing and I hope your channel keeps on growing
The Ad Begins At 0:50, And Ends At 3:04.
Thanks for the crossover. This was fun. Maybe one day I’ll find a warhammer nerd who has way too many minis who can teach me the game that will lead to my having an all lego warhammer army?
The sponsor glow up is sick my G! I truly enjoy your content and I’m happy to see you getting the support you deserve. 🤙
I think what he means by melee being the best way to fight orks is that when dealing whith them its inevitable might as well be good at it
Tau do in fact exist
One of the species in all of Warhammer 40k
I m glad you got a Collab with a big channel like gumba's you deserve to grow a lot your content is great
9:22 or like owning a musket for homedefense since that‘s what the founding fathers intended
Great videos guys, binged them both.
Tsunami versus orcs sounds like a great way to ensure your plan is never getting rid of those spores.
yay the Tau that I actually respect!
You don't respect O'kais? Dude's pretty badass.
14:20 vulcan would never ask you to tone down fire....
Farsight is my favorite character in 40k. Despite having the rarest power in the 40k universe - the common sense and being a reasonable human(tau?)being - he and eight can be a total mad bros when needed.
Well this is a collab I didn't see coming.
Thanks for clearly chaptering the sponsorship portion of the video. So many youtubers don't.
BTW the thing where he flew through a battleship cannon he just waited for the thing to fire then flew in
Probably knew after if fired it would take the gunners at least an hour to bless every part of the cannon with incense before firing again.
We have been blessed with more of Pancrease’s videos!
9:22
Just as the founding fathers intended
On a roll with the uploads, keep it up
Literally just watched ur Tau video maybe 20 mins ago, and now here we are
This was a good one man, GG was a solid guest appearance!
Honestly, I didn't expect the gaijan goomba heel turn to Warhammer but I'm here for it
Just the video I needed to watch on my lunch break
Your dogs chilling on the bed while you talk about Manscaped was a highlight, ngl.
You can tell this guy does voice over style videos by the quality of his camera, he's got his priorities right
This isn't a part of the lore but in the Dawn of War 1 game unification mod, The Farsight Enclave have a large number of human soldiers (Gue’vesa) in their army; which I find very interesting because it's shows how they are way more progressive than even the Ethereals could as well as make them more stand out as a hybrid Tau-Human faction.
12:20 "Tech heresy is dumb and your dumb if you believe in it "....oh really because "Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you.
One day the crude biomass that you called a temple will wither and you'll beg my kind to save you."
Thank you for this deep and insightful video!
Man I *did not* expect to see a new video so soon especially since we had a Mechanicus Video yesterday.
But now we have another Tau video and with Gaijin Goomba of all people!
Man what a blast….so when you guys making a video about the Eldar since they have a lot of Japanese aspects?
I mean come on just a glance at Craftworld Lyanden’s Symbol being a Torii Gate of all things lets you know the Eldar are super Japanese
Always love your videos man
if you wanna find out about the fire warrrior game, he mentions Mandaloregamming has covered it and while your at it watch his marathon videos
