@@ryanbarth6691 As is your choice but I STRONGLY suggest reading the Old EU that existed Pre-Disney. You know, all that stuff Kennedy claimed didn't exist? There are alot of good stories in there. The Thrawn Trilogy, New Jedi Order, stories set after ROTS but before ANH. New heroes, new villains, even a zombie or two if you're into that. The adventures of Luke, Han, Leia, and their children continued.
@@ryanbarth6691 Well that first statement is patently false considering every EU story was ran by George for approval and he would give feedback. Hell alot of names for planets and races were taken from the novels and gamebooks like Courascant and Twileks. As for the second that's your subjective opinion but you are really denying yourself some of the best stories outside of the films. Shadows Of The Empire, The Thrawn Trilogy, Hand Of Thrawn duology, etc. Also Dark Empire > Rise Of Palpatine
@@ryanbarth6691 It's not hatred. It's criticism because we have seen this franchise do better. BEEN better. When we criticize it's not out of hate but love. All we ask is Disney give this franchise the respect it and it's legacy deserve. One does not remain in the popular cultural zeitgeist for 40 years without doing something right. It's something that's been passed down from parent to child. We love Star Wars. We just want it to be taken care of and treated with the dignity and respect it deserves and in the eyes of me and many others the Disney Trilogy is severely lacking in the qualities that make a good Star Wars film.

@@ryanbarth6691 No, I’m pretty sure you don’t understand. There is no hatred, but just look at the Disney trilogy. There is so much wrong and so much lacking, and the sequel trilogy is practically a replica of the original trilogy. Surely you can’t be defending disney’s trilogy and not even care about the trilogy, right? Everything the disney trilogy does to classic characters is just wrong and makes the entire OT pointless. Luke, the Jedi who turned his father back to the light and ultimately defeated the Galactic Empire; Disney turned him into some angry old man who gave up on life after his nephew ruined his Jedi academy. Not to mention even the new characters are written poorly. Take Kylo Ren, HE’S A REPLICA OF VADER, co-leader of some evil galactic empire lead by Palpatine, has strong emotions and kills his leader after somebody from a desert planet who happens to know him somehow convinces him.
So similar to an image that I always have in my mind as well as my heart. Meeting people who I've lost throughout my lifetime in a big celebration just like the end of Return of the Jedi. In my vision it's always on a beach somewhere. Sort of like when Andy meets Red again in The Shawshank Redemption only it's a big crowd and a big party. Many people who've died are there as well as people I've lost through separation. May your parents rest in peace.
I remember my mom renting 4-6 on VHS when I was a kid and letting me watch it. I remember watching A New Hope, then asking my mom to let me stay up and watch Empire. After Empire I asked my mom to let me stay up to watch Jedi. As this scene played and I watched all the pilots and soldiers celebrating with our main cast I just began to cry. The whole thing was so beautiful to me, I will never forget that feeling of joyous tears. I fell in love with Star Wars that day, and it's been a love that has never faded. I still hold it in my heart that one day I can become a starfighter pilot in the Alliance, I know it won't ever happen, but there is always something comforting about picturing myself at the end of Jedi, celebrating the fall of the Empire. The cast of Star Wars was like a second family to me, I still get a little bit teary watching this. I hope my kids love this as much as I do.
My kids will be learned to love Star Wars too. We need to spread the story. Spread the greatness. Because even after we're long gone, Star Wars will still live on

@@garybarlow7179 I've Seen The Rise Of Skywalker At The Local Movie Theater, and It was Amazing, From Every Locations and The Action, Oh God It was Unbelievable, I was on the Edge of my Seat all the way Through It.
You know, if you were blinded by nostalgia, this is the kinda stuff you'd be doing. But that isn't what i am here to say. Y'know, all the books, and cartoons, and extra lore, not all of that was Lucas Either, yet we consider that closer to other stuff. The way I see it, if you don't like this RoS, or the new trilogy, you can simply treat it as an alternate continuity. Just like some of the other Star Wars Media, both under the Disney AND under the Lucas Years! A little creative compromise goes a long way. Oh me? I personally think RoS was a pretty good attempt. Rushed, admittedly, but again, with some creative compromise, it will probably work for you, too.
There were elements of Rise of Skywalker I thought were stupid, parts of it I didn’t like, and I most certainly say Return of the Jedi is better. That being said, if I had the opportunity to end the Skywalker part of Star Wars for good and for all, it would be along the scale of Rise of Skywalker.
This piece of music is the most emotional piece of music I've ever heard in a movie. I don't need to tell anyone why it's so good, the movie basically just tells you why, and it's so emotional. Everyone celebrating around the galaxy knowing that the Galactic Empire is dead thanks to the Rebels by destroying the Second Death Star and with Vader turning good to kill the Emperor from killing his son.

Nostalgia really does put a rose tint on everything. The only people that think Yub Nub was better than this MUST be the ones who saw the theatrical release. This is objectively a much better piece and a much more fitting final song. You can still hear the tribal influences, so the ewoks are still there, but the actual quality of the music is much more moving.
Nah, Yub Nub will forever be my fave version of the ending to ROTJ. The problem isn't this music, which I think is fine. It was the whole scale of it, it was supposed to be a small celebration and party after a huge victory for the rebels. The special edition adds a bunch of unneeded extras of the galaxy celebrating, what was wrong with the small scale party?
philyburkhill1 i see your point, but for someone (me) that loves the prequels, I always love seeing shots of Naboo and Coruscant celebrating it feels like all is finally right in the galaxy and wraps it up very nicely IMO

+TheGroundedAviator Yep. The New Republic spent nearly 20 years after Endor fighting the Empire in some shape or form before the last vestige of it agreed to a conditional peace with it. THEN five years later, the Yuuzhan Vong show up and a MUCH worse conflict breaks out and even after that conflict, there's decades more of constant conflict........ I just pretend that the EU ended when the Empire agreed to a conditional peace with the New Republic and leave it at that, what happens afterwards is stupid and makes all the hard work the Rebels put into freeing the galaxy from tyranny meaningless........

I don't care what others say, I love this ending version better than the original one from the 80s. It is just my opinion, but mostly because I was too young at the time to have cared that much about them. Even better if you read the Legends Comics..or read the book "The Truce at Bakura". The Rebel Alliance literally enters a war against a race of these lizard things in less than a week or so after the Battle of Endor. Everyone was celebrating Vader's death but nobody knew that he saved all of them. Only Luke knew what had happened at the Emperor's Throne room so he mourned and buried his father alone.
My recollections of seeing these films in the 70's and 80's. It was the beginning of Dolby surround sound systems. People would sometimes applaud and cheer during the films. Such moments? When they are flying down the trench and Vader is about shoot Luke's x-wing. Suddenly sees the tie fighter next to him blow up and his own get hit. Then Han giving the rebel yell there. The audiences roared. The next film when, when Han and Leia are trying to start up The Falcon to escape from Hoth. Audiences laughed when they heard it cranking over like it was an old Dodge V8. Then they got scared as Vader and the stormtroopers were lining up infantry guns at it. Then they roared and cheered as Han mowed them down with that laser canon underneath and took off. There were other such moments. People walked out of those theatres happy and inspired and feeling 12 feet tall. Yoda taught many true spiritual values and people were silent as if a real guru were before them. These films are master pieces. I would support another theatrical rerelease if Disney would do it without altering them.
the war actually lasted another five years. The Empire put down most of the uprisings, but the Alliance got a lot bigger and launched a massive offensive into the mid rim
Yes, its not the original, but this actually sounds pretty good. I mean, it actually sounds like a celebration. Not that the old one didn't, but I don't mind this one, and if I hear it, I'm gonna smile.
I think if you grew up GEN X during the original Star Wars movies (4, 5 and 6) in the 1970's and early 80's, there is something special about going through those movies at that time in history. No VCR's to watch it over and over again. No DVD's and streaming. The feeling and experience cannot be put into words. It's just not the same, even with episodes 7, 8 and 9. Return of the Jedi is the finest of all the series. It's not because because of technical reasons, graphics, or a rap against the current three. It's an intangible, impossible to explain in words, feeling of what it was like to experience Return of the Jedi in the 1980's. And the feeling of that time, seeing Jedi in the theaters and the culmination of the middle trilogy, I wish everyone could experience what that was like.
I am glad this was added instead of the original. I really love the original, but this one just hits differently. And feels like and embrace from a friend who fought together with you and is now rejoicing.
I’m not bagging the Sequel trilogy, if you like them that’s fine you like what you like this is a personal opinion. Part of the reason I didn’t like the Sequel trilogy was because of the ending of Return of the Jedi. I was so invested in the original trilogy and the stories. Each of the characters stood out to me and I loved all of them, I wanted them to succeed. And when they did I was so happy, these characters I loved finally did it and this music in the background was awesome and set the tone for a celebratory ending. To me it was the perfect ending. The sequel trilogy to me lacked all of that. I wasn’t really invested in the characters or the story and so the ending wasn’t satisfying. This a long and cheesy comment, but if you read all of it thanks
Yes I feel like this was supposed to be (ok maybe cheesy) but the 'they lived happily ever after' type ending. Which made sense because of all the story following a long history of galactic wars. If anything the period before the Empire about the Republic was way more interesting because it was an untold backstory, how the galaxy became a mess and the evil empire came to be, and that's what the prequels tried to do, but there's so much to explore in the Star Wars timeline before the empire and about the Jedi order, Republic, Clone Wars, etc. Even during the episodes of the original trilogy like Rogue One I guess but after Return of the Jedi? It was supposed to be over, it just felt right to end it there. At most maybe would be cool to get books, comics, maybe TV series about how things went after, but starting a whole new trilogy and adding more and more just for the sake of having more? Seems like it's just about making money, not telling a cohesive story.

The hundreds and thousands of years of the Sith and their oppression has ended and while the old Jedi Order may be gone, it shall be rebuilt better than before. As it was written, on the pages of the Journal of the Whills, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
@@ryanbarth6691 I think you're confused and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps TOM can enlighten you where I can't: ua-cam.com/video/2kb9PgeIiw4/v-deo.html

I wanted to like Rise of Skywalker. I really did. Unfortunately, I'm not easily blinded by nostalgia. To me, and probably to a lot of others, the saga, the story, it all ended here. Where Anakin Skywalker redeemed himself by saving his son and defeating the Emperor.
You made this comment before the movie even came out though.

This was the canon ending for me, the fall of the empire and the peaceful happy ending of the skywalker trilogy
Say what you want
Yes the real end :)
@@ryanbarth6691 You like the sequels or something?
@@SirLiamTheGreat actually yes
@@ryanbarth6691 Disgraceful
Ahhh what a perfect end to the SIX film saga. No more movies were ever made after this.
The REAL ending. Not the one people wait for in a few months.
Long live the Republic
FOR THE REPUBLIC!
@@juanpablomenaonate3940 FOR THE GALAXY!
Long live the force, cause Empire and republic are not so different
The perfect musical theme to end the magnificent trilogy like this ⭐⭐⭐
2:24 WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY GEORGE LUCAS
Actually, Return of the Jedi was directed by Richard Marquand.
The War is over!!
Darth Führer That's what Disney wants you to think. But the real war has just begun, Kylo Ren was probably created that night by Han and Leia.
oh my god! :D
I never thought about it, somebody should count the years! One conflict was ended when another was conceived!
30 years between Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens....
I just hope I helped ;)
the war actually lasted another five years. The Empire put down most of the uprisings, but the Alliance got a lot bigger and launched a massive offensive into the mid rim
The First order will atack, so The Third World War or galaxy war will begin
This is better than the original
I'm so happy to experience this whole soundtrack in theaters on the 28th of April! =D
I am glad this was added instead of the original. I really love the original, but this one just hits differently. And feels like and embrace from a friend who fought together with you and is now rejoicing.
Five years from now, this video would be 20 years old.
I will actually play this song at my wedding.. it give me chills
@Dylan M I would like to but I know people like them so I respect their choice and opinion. But yes I too think the Sequels are Trash
@@aname8731 no he doesn't have to
Thanks
