if I am both a Sci-Fi and Fantasy geek it is partly thanks to Lucas...Also, I loved reading back in my elementary school years those epic-themed adventures...I do love films like JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS, and classic war movies
Whenever I read the thrawn trilogy, I get my ipad or phone nd play this while reading. Everytime I hear it, I still have that wish of a world where these books were turned into movies
It's not going to happen now unfortunately. Carrie Fisher has passed away while Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Billy Dee Williams are all too old to reprise their roles.@@Torterra625
+Taylor Bevill I'd like to just tag that onto the end of any song, even if it's a rock band or something you can the the trumpet but with the lead guitar and use the drum to do that same drumming bit.
+Taylor Bevill On the evening of December 17th, I want to leave the theater with those notes ringing in my ears, and the fulfillment of having seen a well-made film.
I remember seeing this with a live orchestra - I was so looking forward to the end so I could listen to this live. Only to have half the audience get up during the end credits.
Forget Rise of Skywalker. To me the best finale/music/closing credits (without the Force Theme) is this. I love how Luke & Leia look out into the galaxy and wonder what's going to happen next. We are on a journey with them wondering ourselves what will happen. There was never a movie that got me more hooked or into Star Wars franchise than Empire Strikes Back. I first saw it in the 1997 Special Edition re-release. It was my first time seeing all 3 original trilogy films. This was better than A New Hope to me. Han & Leia's love theme topping it off was perfect. Also love Yoda's theme and the Imperial March. This movie has the most number of classic unforgettable melodies in John Williams score. Absolutely the best in terms of story/plot character development visual effects music cinematography and everything else. I am so glad this movie was made. The best of all Star Wars films.
This is the most amazing, awesome end credit piece of music ever written!! The conclusion is filled with specific cues for your brain that demand you to increase the volume on your sound system. The final few measures are just awe inspiring and they take your breath away! The only other piece of music that creates the same powerful pleasure is the when E.T. leaves on the spaceship for his home planet. Starting with the arrival of E.T and the children in the forest, up to the blackout before the anticlimactic end credit music, this segment of music (also composed by John Williams) sends shivers up and down your spine, encourages volume increases and brings about a feeling of euphoria at the conclusion. Just skip the end credit music on that film, though, because they aren't worth it.
Of course, it is sad that Han Solo in Episode V was condemned to be frozen alive in a carbonite casket, and sad that Luke Skywalker loses 60 percent of one of his arms after the light sabre fight after saying to the Sith himself--Darth Vader--that he will never, ever fight for the dark side of the force. The end credit music starts when Luke Skywalker goes to get his arm repaired and all of the rebel forces, after the Millennium Falcon does its escaping the Imperial super stardestroyer's tractor beam thanks to Artoo's right guesses on fixing the Falcon's hyperdrive system. The area in space with all of those rebel ships you saw just before the movie ends is a rebel staging point called Sullust. As the credits roll, because the Empire "struck" back, the "dark side" theme is mentioned at least 6 times.
what i love about it is it goes all cheery and mystical with yoda's theme, to then remind the audience that the good guys just got their asses kicked. your boy got his hand chopped off and his best friend is an icicle. yeah
We played this score in my high school band. They all thought it was a random Star Wars medley, I found out it was the credits sequence and showed them what it should sound like.
The ending soundtrack to Empire Strikes Back are part of the heart and soul of the movie and is a HUGE reason on why it's the BEST Star Wars movie of all time.
I prefer The Empire Strikes Back soundtrack to the Star Wars soundtrack. It still kept all of the songs and tunes that made the Star Wars soundtrack so great but added The Imperial March, Yoda's Theme, Han Solo and the Princess, that tune at 1:14 and more. None of the other Star Wars films kept all of the great songs that had built up from Star Wars to The Empire Strikes Back (even Return of the Jedi). This is where Star Wars music peaked!
I still will never understand how every aspect that makes a great movie and a great Star Wars movie was SO good in The Empire Strikes Back and how that all came together at the same time. It doesn't take anything away from any other Star Wars movie when I predict that Empire will still be the best one after another 40 years.
0:00 this remembers me of my childhood. When I first saw the movie and it was my favourite. I watched all the movies but not episode V. I got a star wars characters books for Christmas and I read about lot of character I never saw before like admiral Piett etc..There was a picture saying ,,two star destroyers hitting each other while looking for the Falcon,,. I remember I thought ,,wow, lot of stuff happening in this episode,, 2 or 3 months later I saw it and I was stunned
Normally I don't watch ending credits after watching a movie but always sit and listen to this music at the end with the surround sound on, and I can just picture Luke here getting his new hand and then standing with Leia watching as Lando and Chewy go to look for Han.
Do or do not there is no try, a Jedi is a great asset and in all of the galaxy there is no better than a Jedi! This music really captures the everlasting glory of Star Wars ( especially at 7:10 ) and it just brings the greatest sense of nostalgia! It's perfect
It may be hard to notice, but this is different than the music sequence from the actual movie. The Imperial March theme is slightly shorter in the Soundtrack. I'm glad this has the longer version, thank you! This theme is so much better!
It sounds like someone looped it a couple times and altered the pitch. I don't mind it but there is some abrupt cuts when it transitions to the next "re-pitched" Imperial March
+Paul Lennon Yeah, he kind of messed up the Imperial March part. You have the music in your head, you know what should come next and then it loops...because he knows better than John Williams.
Still the best "final scene/en credits medley" of the entire series (but then it's still the best movie of the series, so...) even if this Special Edition version is different from the original (the trumpets at the crescendo/beginning of end credits are too fast in this one).
ComScan has detected an energy field protecting an area around the sixth planet of the Hoth system. The field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment.
It's the sped-up version of Yoda's Theme, followed by a lovely restatement of it in full strings to lead into the Imperial March. Perhaps the SIGNATURE "Empire" end credits moment.
This movie is the golden standard of what a StarWars movie should be !! The music is perfect and can never be beaten or outdone.
I would count RotS higher as Esb in term of the soundtracks
So...what year saying is...the original trilogy Perfect in every sense of the word and the sequel trilogy is dog poo...got it.
Amen
But it has though.
@@combat-greyhound565 😅
John Williams sure knows how to put real emotion in music
Especially in E.T.
I will forever miss you, Carrie Fisher. Thanks for making my childhood fucking amazing.
young shinigami I've been sad all day too :(
Lazy amen

3:33 to 6:06 is what made EMPIRE so great
Everything in Empire is perfect. The film is flawless.
Imperial March never appears in ANH. blew my mind when I first noticed
@@eightnickel1513 You can hardly call a film that has no proper beginning nor end 'perfect' or 'flawless'. :P
And what made YOU my favourite Star Wars character, my lord! 🤩
1:03 to 1:50 is the part that everyone loves that makes you think of your child hood remembering when you first saw this movie.
The Han and Leia Theme is so damn romantic. It’s heartbreaking. Similar to Marion’s Theme from Indy.
Spectacular movie ending music of 1980😍😍😍
I have always loved this title sequence! So beautiful. So majestic.
This is the best song in the whole series in my opinion.
yeah it is right. Empire is the best film so far.
+Supernova Kid Its not good
Because most of the best themes were introduced in Empire
I don't mean to be an arse but It's a piece not a song. :)
In my opinion too.
RIP Carrie Fisher.
I still can hum this credit role in my head. Epic just fricken Epic. John Williams is one of my favorite composers.
Empire strikes back had the most unique ending theme. Instead of going right into the main star wars theme it goes to Yodas theme.
In my opinion this is the best of all the Star Wars songs and it's my favorite.
farewell princess Leia....
7:10 The never ending adventure of Star Wars.
Because it is the epic of all humanity since Odisseus, Beowulf, or King Arthur...!
+daniel pitti
Funny how Star Wars is basically inspired by those exact stories!
if I am both a Sci-Fi and Fantasy geek it is partly thanks to Lucas...Also, I loved reading back in my elementary school years those epic-themed adventures...I do love films like JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS, and classic war movies
I always get goosebumps when I here this part !
I see what you mean. Awesome indeed!
Whenever I read the thrawn trilogy, I get my ipad or phone nd play this while reading. Everytime I hear it, I still have that wish of a world where these books were turned into movies

I did!

Last 33 seconds gives me goosebumps!

On the evening of December 17th, I want to leave the theater with those notes ringing in my ears, and the fulfillment of having seen a well-made film.
+Taylor Bevill You can tag that last 33 seconds to any song, it'll fit and end the track on a grand motif. Its insane, John Williams is a genius
Old but pure gold. Truly, the original trilogy was very special to all of us.
7:19 - 7:39 Always gives me chills during that part. Love it.
understatement
The lead into it from the Han & Leia theme always gets me too. It feels like you know it's about to go up a level right before the end!
Everyone states some time code as being "the best part", while in reality the entire song is the best part in my opinion.
I remember seeing this with a live orchestra - I was so looking forward to the end so I could listen to this live. Only to have half the audience get up during the end credits.
IDIOTS!
WTF 4:10? dat sudden change actually made me jump up
old editing. whaddya do

Jesus, this is just a great piece of music.
Whenever 7:10 is used at the end of a trailer (eg. The Clone Wars season 4 trailer) it immediately increases the hype
2:20- about 3:00 makes me melt! That part to me is what made the empire soundtrack so special:) oh and of course, the imperial march
2020!!! Star Wars originals forever!!!!!!
From 1:00 it's just so wonderful.
everyone's like 7:10 is the best. and I'm like nah, definitely 3:33. Glory to the Empire!
what i love about it is it goes all cheery and mystical with yoda's theme, to then remind the audience that the good guys just got their asses kicked. your boy got his hand chopped off and his best friend is an icicle. yeah
This is my favorite version of the imperial march. Goes so hard
I love STAR WARS

The first minute is magic. Thrills.
1:02, all time classic. RIP Carrie
6:08 from this and for the rest onward. This is my favorite bit of Star Wars music ever. Can’t explain why exactly.
this is awesome no other soundtrack can beat this one!!!!
Love the Imperial March in the timpani, low brass at 7:21
The ending soundtrack to Empire Strikes Back are part of the heart and soul of the movie and is a HUGE reason on why it's the BEST Star Wars movie of all time.
This is, in my opinion, the best SW film, and Soundtrack, of all the SW Movies that have, and ever will be made!
7:10 always reminds me of this Clone Wars ad, (with this theme) were a droid rips a clone in half.
What ad was it?
1:14 fav part

The Best Film Out of The OG Trilogy!
This music works really damn well over the last scene of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
7:10 "Noooooooooooooo!!!" - Obi Wan from the Phantom Menace trailer... lol
I adore that little part just after 5:55... Awsome and very dreamy!!!
Thank you George Lucas, John Williams and David Prowse for the best childhood a kid could ask for!
George Lucas: You’re welcome 😇
Goosebumps. Every time.
I listen to this literally every time I finish a chapter in SWTOR.

It's official, 7:10 is my favorite Star Wars composed soundtrack piece of all time. What is it called?
+Josiah Townsend empire strikes back ending obviously.
Fucked Yoda your listening to it dude
7:15 is based on the “Rebel fanfare” motif. Otherwise it’s just another absolutely elite fanfare from John Williams.
its hard to believe that the director of this movie was also the director of Robocop 2.
Does anybody know what 1:14 - 1:49 is called. I think this is the best score in any of the movies and it is only played in this one for some reason.
russianstookmydonut that part is just glorious. Dont know its name thou
russianstookmydonut just search up princess Leia theme or Han and Leia theme or han solo theme
It is indeed underrated, but that's not the only part it plays. Han Solo and the Princess.
3:34 The best song :)

6:04 My favorite part! The REBEL FLEET/HAN AND LEIA!!!
I wonder, what kind of messed up world we live in without star wars............
no blockbusters for one...
Admission, I love the Empire theme, but Yoda's theme really has a nice proto-ET feel to it.
6:06 to 7:45 might be my favorite piece of Star Wars music ever
I love this soundtrack specially when sounds the imperial march makes me feel powerful as Darth Vader
My favorite movie.....
1:49
+9813 (igjug9813) nah.
That’s the part I have been looking for
I like this version
Hope episode 9 ends with this theme 7:10

I'm here for 7:10 as well.

fella I think Disney has f@&%#+!;:ed star wars right up kylo rens a f#£%&&+g wimp my nieces is tougher than him bring back Lucas!
+Denise Mccafferty It was a point to make Kylo a wavering, falsely imposing villain.
1:49 credits roll pops up - Best part :D
Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker, may the force be with you. You will be missed.
STAR WARS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
OK.

What a masterpiece
Still the best "final scene/en credits medley" of the entire series (but then it's still the best movie of the series, so...) even if this Special Edition version is different from the original (the trumpets at the crescendo/beginning of end credits are too fast in this one).
0:00 The music playing when you loaded Star Wars Galaxies.

7:17 Star Wars VII Trailer 2 and 3 song ?!
around 2:45 it goes off on a run ... that's never repeated in the films at all .. If I'm not mistaken. .. always sticks in my head
that's because it's the motif for Cloud City
+coolguyii13579 Nah, it's just a part of Yoda's Theme, that's never played in any scene in any of the movies.
It's the sped-up version of Yoda's Theme, followed by a lovely restatement of it in full strings to lead into the Imperial March. Perhaps the SIGNATURE "Empire" end credits moment.
