You can junction Berserk, Sleep, and Confuse on Squall Stat-def, and then cast aura on him and let him Renzokuken Malboro to dead. 🤣 Cause silence doesn't affect him, blind just add to his crisis level. He can finish Malboro up before the petrify countdown finishes counting down.
Casting aura on low critical hp's provides better limit breaks. For Rinoa --> You 'll always get "Wishing Star" if you cast aura on her while her hp is at critical levels. For Irvine --> Aura makes his limit break shooting time much longer if his hp is at critical levels. If i remember correct it also extends Zell's "Duel" time.
I love the FFVIII combat system, for me it is the best I've seen, it's difficult, it's pure strategy and you can achieve amazing results knowing how to use the tools with intelligence. I also get to beat omega weapon in a short time, the combat can be easy, difficult or impossible, the complicated is the previous preparation.
FFVIII has very interesting battle system.i didn't know that's called crisis level. but yes aura magic is also effects the limit breaks even at critical hp's. if you cast aura over critical hp with high luck stats, these are the results as far as i know : -rinoa will always attack with wishing star. -irvine will have extended shooting time -zell will have extended duel time.-it also effects the squall's renzokuken i believe. :))
It effects Squalls Renzokuken, yes, for example, you'll get easier Lion Heart, and you'll get longer Renzokukens. Normally you'd get 4 or 5 streaks, now you could see Squall got two full attacks, which are 8 strikes each.
KoploperMau Yes , it effects the first strikes indeed. But i don't think it effects the final blow. Means you won't get lion heart more often. Mine's just luck here. ;)
+dragleras I was gonna write about that, since guides speak of every one of the 4 final blows of Squall having a 25% chance of triggering, but I don't think I've ever seen any of the other 3 show up when my Squall was under the same conditions as yours here. Any chance the Luck parameter weights more during boss fights?
Booya and Heel Drop are faster to input for me and others. But yes, that Armageddon Fist is one of the best and most consistent strategies. What differs is who else you have with you. When using Zell and Quistis alongside Squall - who opens with Meltdown - I have Quistis use Triple on herself, and then with the Expendx3-1 ability use Aura and Regen on everyone. The latter is there to be absolutely safe on the approach. From this point, Zell uses the AF strat, Squall with Renzokuken, and Quistis uses Shockwave Pulsar. In the case of bad luck and no Lion Heart is seen, Quistis should use White Wind to heal in the vicinity of Megiddo Flame. Sure, this setup has a longer-time fight, but it's also probably the safest one to follow.
@Ze TheGame I've consistently beaten Omega before TB shows up with this setup. At worst, I've threaded the needle and put in the last attack before TB would have come out, with one character defending - this is only when I've not gotten one Lion Heart in the fight. Regen keeps health at max to survive Megiddo if the fight gets that far, and a use of White Wind heals up since LBs are given priority if I'm not mistaken. I've seen Mike Bettencourt use this strat in his FF8 Steam run - no luck in getting Lion Heart, but there was no Terra Break seen. Obviously there's Auto-Haste at work within here, I just felt that it would go without saying. But what I should have said is that I go to Level 100 and max the characters' stats for the endgame. It's unnecessary, but it's how I prefer to play.

I agree. I like FF VIII, but the battle system is the one I dislike the most of any FF game, by miles. I don't like that magic is just another item resource that you can't truly own. I don't like that it's tied to your stats so that using magic actually weakens your character. I don't like having to kill the square button of my controller every time I cast a GF. I don't like that there are items that can make your party literally invincible. And I don't like Aura which makes limit breaks feel cheap and as this video demonstrates well, is so OP that it allows you to ignore battle mechanics and kill bosses in seconds. If it wasn't for the battle system I'd be replaying this game more often because I love everything else about it.

You did a super great job and I took inspiration from you months ago (thank you!), but... 1) in this version of the game Omega has less than 900.000 HP instead of 1.160.000 -In my attempt I needed 3 renzokukens (2 lionhearts + 1 fated circle), 1 wishing star, 60 fast ammos and 33 normal ammos (all lucky shots). It's not a question of time (I surely lose time when casting aura also for the third character, but I need it and so you'll be always faster than me). The problem is that you performed 2 lionhearts (500k), 1 wishing star (80k) and 2 quick shots for a total of 74 fast ammos (300k), and so some required damage is missing. my video clarifies what I'm saying. PS: your luck stat is very very high (hard job with all those dark matters, very well done) but it doesnt seem maxed, because there are 11 regular shots (with regular damage I mean). With a luck of 254 (255 less the one used at the beginning) this should not happen.
It's still possible to kill him quicker than this if you skip Rinoa's Wishing Star Limit (which takes about 20 seconds to resolve) and just use ALL of Irvine's ammo to finish him off. Even if Omega gets an attack off, as long as it isn't Meteor or Terra Breaker, you should be able to finish him in a quicker time.

For squall, i think the critical level will only affect renzokuken’s number of hits, as we can see in the video, it has 7 and 8 hits, but the chance of the finishing move is still 25% for the 4 attacks ( rough divide, fated circle, blasting zone & Lionheart )
Stark difference for me between comp and PS version is that Quick Shot on the comp seems to register every input without much lag in between while the PS disc version just can't handle the fast button inputs with a very visible delay between each shot. Oh my life for the PS version to be like the comp version, but ah I'm nitpicking.
@marcieldeg not really, if you only train Angelo with Wishing Star and none of the other abilities, you can really boost your chances with it being used. Not to mention all 3 characters were in the yellow, which would cause all of the limit breaks to virtually default to the most powerful moves. ie. lots of time for Irvine + 8x attacks and LionHeart with Squall + Wishing Star with Rinoa. Quistis' blue magics become VERY powerful in dire situations as well.
There was one video with Irv/Qui/Sel with full stats from PocketStation itens, the "The Black Mages" song "The man with the machine gun". Was it yours?

@SolMrBadGuy Yes, it does more damage, but the point of this video was speed. Zell's limit abuse takes a lot longer to do, even if you can achieve much more total damage with one turn.
Great video. Congratz, I've just finished replaying it and it took me more time with exactly the same team cos' I didn't know that casting aura on critical HP characters had so much advantage. One question though: how on earth did u manage to have 255 in luck?????? Apart from the fact that it's useless in FF8 that means playing hundreds of hours playing for nothing to refine 100 Curse Spikes or 1 dark matter into Luck up stats!!!!!!!!!
Niiiiiiiiice one =) i think that from all the videos, you are the recordman, but you are the luckyest too^^. Casting 2 lionheart with 2 Renzokuken and after that, wishing star, talk about being lucky...
When I was about 12 years old I fought this beast for over 2 hours constantly using hero potions and casting aura. If I only had known back then....lol
My only question is how in the hell can you hit it that many times for Irvine's Fast Ammo? You using a modded controller or what? I'm absolutely no novice to gaming, but I can't get more than 35-40 rounds off in that time. You put nearly 60.
Because he is playing the PC version..I know that because I can spray around 50 every time Irvine got his limit break with fast ammo..Oh yeah try to notice the MIDI background music it's the only thing that separate PC and PS version
Alex Hoh i can do 50 on ps. the higher your crisis level the more time you got. crisis level 4 is 26 seconds. you cannot hit a button twice in 1 second?
You can draw Ultima from Ultima Weapon as well or you visit the City in the north of the Map. You can find there a draw point. I dont really know, but i think you can also find it on a small island in the east.
Let's add it up! Meltdown: 985 (985) Renzokuken: 7x9000 = 63000 (64k) Lion Heart: 18x9999 = 180000 (244k) Quick Shot: 63x3750 = 236k (480k) Wishing Star: 8x9999 = 18k (498k) Renzokuken: 8x9000 = 72000 (570k) Lion Heart: 18x9999 = 180000 (750k) Quick Shot: 20x3750 = 75k (825k) Yeah, he comes up short. HOWEVER, he says he is on the PC version. On the PS version, he's always level 100. On PC version, his level is that of his highest level character. TL;DR: Not fake, just PC version.
I will cut the Irvin shoots, and set them as my ringstone ^_^ If any 1 will ask "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS NOISE?!" I will replay: "Irvin limit, bitch!" :D
dam.. o_o that's epic quick shot xDD i havnt tried using any of irvine's limit break before, anyone mind telling me what u press to shoot during the limit break?
+Harry Haller If you watch carefully, this is why he casted Aura on Rinoa and Irvine at the start of the fight. Aura affects how potent your limit breaks are, even if you are already at yellow health. Casting Aura while at ctirical health makes Rinoa use Wishing Star nearly every time. this is also the reason why Irvine's limit break lasted for sooooo long.
+jdragoon099 You missunderstood me. Of course I know Aura. I mean, the probability for this technics is very little! There is a 25%-Chance for heartbreaker with the final gunblade and the chance for rinoas ultima technic is really very little.
Aura increases the probability for lionheart and wishing star. The combination of low HP, Aura, and maxed out luck stat (see his description) raises the chance for these limit breaks to near 100%
+jdragoon099 I can't believe that. Due to my sources (finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Limit_Break_%28Final_Fantasy_VIII%29) and experiences (PS1-Version!) Aura does not influence the probability which of these technics are used. Can you show me a source that cofirms this?
Unfortunately, detailed descriptions for these types of high level interactions are not readily available, at least from what I can see. If you really want to test it, then try and recreate the scenario in FF8. Take a character with max HP and max luck down to 200-500HP, and use rinoa's angelo limit break several times with and without aura. The reason this is not seen very often is because it is pretty rare for someone to take the time required to max out the luck stat, which is normally never touched by casual players. Aura alone will not increase the probability high enough for wishing star to become consistent. You have to do all 3 things, (low HP, aura, and max luck stat) Scroll up through the comments on the video and you will find a comment from dragleras (the video maker) where he talks about the effect of aura while having high luck stat and critical HP If none of that will convince, you, then all you can do is go and test it yourself.

For squall, i think the critical level will only affect renzokuken’s number of hits, as we can see in the video, it has 7 and 8 hits, but the chance of the finishing move is still 25% for the 4 attacks ( rough divide, fated circle, blasting zone & Lionheart )
Or 20% for the 5th option: No finishing move.
Stark difference for me between comp and PS version is that Quick Shot on the comp seems to register every input without much lag in between while the PS disc version just can't handle the fast button inputs with a very visible delay between each shot. Oh my life for the PS version to be like the comp version, but ah I'm nitpicking.
That,s a lot of damage! - Phil Swift
NoW tHaT'S a LoT oF dAmAgE!!!
You did a super great job and I took inspiration from you months ago (thank you!), but... 1) in this version of the game Omega has 900.000 HP instead of 1.160.000 - 2) you luck stat is very very high (hard job with all those dark matters, very well done) but it doesnt seem maxed, because there are 11 regular shots (with regular damage I mean). With a luck of 254 (255 less the one used at the beginning) this should not happen.
In my attempt I needed 3 renzokukens (2 lionhearts + 1 fated circle), 1 wishing star, 60 fast ammos and 33 normal ammos (all lucky shots). It's not a question of time (I surely lose time when casting aura also for the third character, but I need it and so you'll be always faster than me). The problem is that you performed 2 lionhearts (500k), 1 wishing star (100k) and 2 quick shots for a total of 74 fast ammos (300k), and so some required damage is missing.

You got incredibly lucky. Terrible example of how tough this guy is.
@kiluln It's random. You have to have the lionheart weapon, but once you do, there is a random chance of pulling any of the 4 finishing moves.
Thank you for showing how's done alll these other new clips i see they got 15 -40 min battles your true ff8 player.
that's because the Omega Weapon his fighting is level 7, compared to others, it's level 100
@@pinoygoukirage yeah i can do it faster than most those videos. Just by having auto haste on.
@SolMrBadGuy
Yes, it does more damage, but the point of this video was speed. Zell's limit abuse takes a lot longer to do, even if you can achieve much more total damage with one turn.
I love ff8 the best I love the system and everything so easy to over power your characters
That's what we called a PRO GAMER MOVES.
You know that you are OP when the main super boss gets 1 attack off.
255 on Spd and Luck ... how much time did you spend to get these stats ? objects to reach such stats are insanely long to obtain
The quality is pretty nice for a video from 2008
блин, крутость этого видео зашкаливает больше чем у терминатора)...
"Ahh the old get the Hell out of my way!!!Omega Weapon Method"😎 Good times.....Good times
Lol! You totally thrashed it 🤣, excellent bro 👌🏻
Two Lionhearts in a row is pretty sick. Also, man, the PC version is much crisper than the PS1 version, graphicswise. Pretty amazing difference.
Very nice. I like your work.
Aura - the best spell of the whole Final Fantasy series! ^.^
@johnianflores But higher crisis level (which Aura increases) affects time given for Irvine's Shot, doesn't it?
This is awesome!! Playing FF8 Remastered in year 2023
Omega weapon doesn’t feel so good
mr. stark wer r u lol
Use XXX Up stones to increase stats and also you have to junction abilities to reach 255.
so i heard you get this monster as a party member in final fantasy xiii-2 if u preorder from amazon
Back to back Lion Hearts! I live for this shit!
I once got 4 back to back lionhearts on the final form of Ultimecia. Oh man! It was beautiful.
Can't wait to see this remastered later this year!!!
how do you fire so fast with Irvine too? auto controller? or were you button mashing? or just typing it perfectly? x.x
2022 & still an Awesome game. Btw, why does this video include paid promotion in it? I don't see any...
Why do the last hits from Irvine shows 0 when it was showing big numbers before?
Once the target's HP is depleted, Irvine deals 0 damage to tell you to stop shooting or to change target.
Jesus Christ dude... THAT was fast as heck
Great video. Congratz, I've just finished replaying it and it took me more time with exactly the same team cos' I didn't know that casting aura on critical HP characters had so much advantage. One question though: how on earth did u manage to have 255 in luck?????? Apart from the fact that it's useless in FF8 that means playing hundreds of hours playing for nothing to refine 100 Curse Spikes or 1 dark matter into Luck up stats!!!!!!!!!
first time i played FF8 i never thought Limit breaks could be so broken lol
You can kill omega weapon with zell with one limit break.
That's how broken it is
Lion Heart twice in a row. How many times have you fought this boss before making this video?
Niiiiiiiiice one =) i think that from all the videos, you are the recordman, but you are the luckyest too^^. Casting 2 lionheart with 2 Renzokuken and after that, wishing star, talk about being lucky...
When I was about 12 years old I fought this beast for over 2 hours constantly using hero potions and casting aura. If I only had known back then....lol
How to unlock omega weapon? I know it is the smokey thing in ult's castle but to unlock him to battle
I dont know then..i've only played the pc version so far
hey dragleras - is there any way to ENSURE Squall uses the lionheart attack after the renzokuken??
Omega Weapon:" Hey, just at least give me the chance to do a terra break."
Quick Shot puts Irvine at an almost unheard of level of badass.
Stop for Spd? Seriously? I've tried but it didnt work, isnt Haste the best for Spd? I am wrong?
You can draw Ultima from Ultima Weapon as well or you visit the City in the north of the Map. You can find there a draw point. I dont really know, but i think you can also find it on a small island in the east.
LPKommentator98 yes the island closest to hell
Where's the Death lvl 5 from Omega as Start move? or the 998 AoE attack damage? wtf
the death was there, it missed, and he died before he could do anything else.
Let's add it up!
Meltdown: 985 (985)
Renzokuken: 7x9000 = 63000 (64k)
Lion Heart: 18x9999 = 180000 (244k)
Quick Shot: 63x3750 = 236k (480k)
Wishing Star: 8x9999 = 18k (498k)
Renzokuken: 8x9000 = 72000 (570k)
Lion Heart: 18x9999 = 180000 (750k)
Quick Shot: 20x3750 = 75k (825k)
Yeah, he comes up short. HOWEVER, he says he is on the PC version. On the PS version, he's always level 100. On PC version, his level is that of his highest level character.
TL;DR: Not fake, just PC version.
Bruh, you rounded off the numbers.
wishing star: 8x9999 = 80k not 18k
8x9999 = 18K? Do you know how to compute
@Mercury515 what about Laika?
That’s wonderful 😍😍😍😍🎮🎮🎮
How exactly characters at level 100 (which is a multiple of 5) survive level 5 death?
Death junctioned to Status Defense.
El mejor de los final fantasy
@PhenMist
Unless this is the PC version, Omega's level is always 100.
why does the music sound different?
Odin can appears and finish The Boss or only appears against foes not Boss?
I will cut the Irvin shoots, and set them as my ringstone ^_^ If any 1 will ask "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS NOISE?!"
I will replay: "Irvin limit, bitch!" :D
Onslaught of POWER!!!
dam.. o_o that's epic quick shot xDD
i havnt tried using any of irvine's limit break before, anyone mind telling me what u press to shoot during the limit break?
No way Squall did two lion hearts in a roll
raul gallegos with aura and low health definitely increases its chances
You are watching one of the few successful recordings
Isn't it a very little probability with Rinoas final Limit-Strike and with Heartbreaker? How did you get them each round?
You have to do all 3 things, (low HP, aura, and max luck stat)
Scroll up through the comments on the video and you will find a comment from dragleras (the video maker) where he talks about the effect of aura while having high luck stat and critical HP
If none of that will convince, you, then all you can do is go and test it yourself.
That Omega Weapon seemed to have way too little HP. Still, great vid though.
Cause their levels were low as shit
