I have to say that the most impressive tarantula I have ever owned is the Apophysis, even more so than the blondi and stirmi. The most aggressive feeding response, quickest growth, and absolutely massive final form. The reality is likely that all three of the theraphosa are interchangeable depending on the individual specimen.

I love your videos. I love your professionalism and the respect you have for your tarantulas. I am actually scared of spiders. Living in Australia we get pretty big huntsman spiders in the house. I was wondering if you could do a video on the difference between spiders and tarantulas?

Great list. I 100% agree. As for the Pamphobeteus, it is tough. I think you made the right call, though.

Such a great vid! I got a Pamphobeteus sp. Santo Domingo Goliath sling for Christmas, so I'll let you know in a year or two how big they get! lol. I heard 8-10" at the largest✌💜🕷🕸

I like how you put it together, including largest fossorial/african aswell. Many could fit inbetween, but this wraps it up simply! I am only sad because O. violaceopes wasn't in here

As a teacher in Thailand I encountered and for the kids had to kill a Tarantula that was a conservative eighteen inches long with menacing black fangs. There are yet unexplored wildernesses even in Thailand. Larger tarantulas are out there. But these are beautiful arachnids you knowledgeably share with us. Thank you.

Good times lol. I was with you all the way there and definately had the same opinion with the number one. All my spiders I have acquired as juvies but I got my first sling a few days ago and omg it was tiny. A P. Irminia and definately the smallest tarantula I have. I even struggle to see it in the enclosure when it's not moving lol. I'm proud to own two L. Parahabana though and cannot wait for them to reach maximum size. Loved this video Richard and hope you and your clan are keeping well.

Yay enjoyed this. I'm eventually wanting one of the top one Goliath Birdeaters, but just not yet. I do have three Brazilian Salmon Pinks all three slings but had my first Tarantula as a Salmon Pink 25 yrs ago, which became a mature male.

my favourite when i kept tatantulas (approx 45 diff species, all individually interesting) was my "purple bloom-pamphobetus memory blank" :-) . when fed, large locust generally, she would stand on tiptoe and slowly dance and circle over the food chewing and webbing.. never failed to fascinate me.. beautiful to look at too, when in new moult her fresh deep colour shone..
