Hey Paula! I met you in Almeda Mall in Houston, Texas when my son was 14 months old. I have never forgotten that day and STILL use your cookbooks all the time! I've taken this recipe and tweaked it because I'm diabetic. The butter amount is the same, but I use Splenda blend for baking and sugar free Hershey's chocolate chips so I can actually eat it! YUUUUUUMMM!!! Even my now-12-year-old son is a fan! Thank you and Michael for being so sweet that day! You might remember me as the woman who made you turn 9 shades of red and run to the back of the store you were in promoting your furniture line because you thought I was pregnant and I said "Nope, just fat!" LOL Love you, Paula Deen!

My family has been making this for well over 60 years, we do not purchase the jar sauces we add chopped pecans whilst the butter is melting, then we add the semi sweet chocolate chips and then the evap milk. It goes great with blue bell ice cream or your own homade vanilla ice cream. This takes me back to the summers at my grandparents farm.
Seeing Paula going into the dishwasher was the highlight of my day!! So special to see the everyday cooking of a legend!
You forgot the vanilla extract! That is an important ingredient.

This trio has never been negative about anything when presenting these videos. Please learn from that. Most people come here to see Paula. We bring our coffee and feel like we're sitting in her kitchen and visiting. The atmosphere is relaxed and you feel welcome.
I'm very grateful for these videos. I don't always like what is being prepared but I don't feel the need to express that in a negative way. Would this work for dipping strawberries in? that is the one I need....thumbs up from Houston where it is the coldest Feb. in over 70 years! we are actually getting snow/ice most of the week starting Sunday night! Monday being the coldest day in my life time... lol talking about 10 -15 degrees? I aint never lol ttyl we be some whimps here lol it is rare to get down to 30 degrees on the coldest morning....People are stocking up at the stores like a hurricane is coming! lol

2:58 did anyone else have the captions turned on? Did you notice it thought Paula said Dick of butter instead of Stick?. Go back and turn on closed captioning and you will see it. Whoever is in charge of the closed captioning on UA-cam needs to be better at listening to the content, because if young children are watching these videos and see the captioning, they could repeat what the people are saying and get into trouble. Either way it is kind of funny but also serious.

That closed captioning is computer automated. If you notice about 5 or 10 seconds later when you hear the rustling of the chocolate chip bag, it puts it down as [Applause] ... haha
