I wouldn't call this a game. A game would involve playing, while this is a virtual art gallery you walk around. It's a great experience, don't get me wrong, but a game it is not.

I played it myself and I must say: it was not at all what I expected it to be. Radiohead really knocked it out of the park
Completely agree. I had low expectations, but was blown away. Truly unique and immersive experience. Requires great display and sound system to fully appreciate though.

I've never taken the deep dive on this era of Radiohead stuff, as much as it has forever intrigued me, so I jumped into this with low expectations, but was blown the absolute hell away by it. I've garnered so much more respect, love and understanding about these albums now, simply from this experience. I've played it through at least 4 times, totalling maybe about 5-6 hours, and I keep getting sucked back in, what an absolutely phenomenal piece of media -- and its fucking free!!!?!
Radiohead has consistently pushed the envelope of creativity for 25 years. No other band is or has even done such interesting artistic work.

Just played it. The HTDC / Pyramid section in the middle was absolutely incredible. I really want them to do this for their other albums like In Rainbows
I would love if they did this with other albums, although I'd be very surprised if they did

This was the single coolest thing I have ever experienced. I felt like I had escaped from my reality for an hour. I can only hope they do this for there other albums as well!

honestly i always felt like this is the truest way to fully experience the kid a mnesia album, like this is the full experience you should be getting when you listen to radiohead. i also started to like pyramid song and you and whose army after playing this :)
Oh yeah this is a great way to listen to it, especially to help you notice songs you might not have cared about as much before
1:33:00 i remember playing this for the first time and after seeing everything at this point, for some reason when i heard the harps from Motion Picture Soundtrack, i started to cry. it was like a bunch of memories and emotions coming back to me all at once. it’s so hard to describe. i fucking love radiohead man.
was this the only part of the experience with anything from motion picture soundtrack? i wish it had a more dedicated section
All the live footage in the little cinema is AMAZING. Especially the full band version of How To Disappear, Optimistic and Motion Picture Soundtrack from their studio, Dollars and Cents, National Anthem, and Everything In Its Right Place in concert, some tv spots too. I’m not a gamer but I loaded it on my PC and absolutely love it. Highly recommend getting the map if you’re confused or stuck.
(Took me forever to figure out the “green phosphorus” strip in the pyramid room led to the next section. I was wandering around the In Limbo/Packt/and National Anthem rooms forever trying to find the next section😂🤦🏻♂️).

It's super easy to get the footage in the little cinema I'm pretty sure. I think there's just a folder for it when you go to the game files. (The non-video files are a bit more carefully encrypted.)
I am entirely convinced this is the greatest thing ever created by humans or bears.

this sort of stuff happens as "innovation of the time" but stays the only example and becomes "ahead of its time" afterwards.
I think it would be great for Pink Floyd, Jamiroquoi, and Blur.

Kid A and Amnesiac’s artwork is just as important into encapsulating the atmosphere of this era of radiohead as much as the albums themselves, seeing them combined and interacted in this way makes me cherish the albums so much more, what a great friggin museum
The way you played the “You And Whose Army” section sitting on the outside of it was tough to watch man

You squandered "you and whose army" when you didn't move around at all. You could have viewed it from within and above the circle and it was incredible

As a Radiohead fan, this was a great experience, loved it!
I was semi-bummed out over the release of Kid AMnesia, especially on the vinyl side of things. I would've loved if it included the B-Sides from the era that were released as EPs/Singles alongside more material that unreleased. Sort of like what OKNOTOK 2017 did. But man, I think this game made up for it. There's so much to unpack here, its amazing.

The paper chamber is my favourite. Getting to see all the different promotional material was cool.

There’s performances of optimistic, motion picture soundtrack both from their recording studio space, then there’s a full band live concert version of how to disappear, ..... a tv spot of how to disappear, honestly I haven’t even gotten through everything in the little cinema. There’s ALOT. It’s a KILLER version of optimistic too.

@@iammonke9203 well it’s still there waiting to be found. It’s actually really easy to find it. You just have to go the the basement and follow the trail of letters that light up as you walk🤷🏻♂️

I'm not a fan of radiohead but I have the world record for speedrun this game with all achivements, no glitch used and zero hit. I finish it on NG+7 now and I'm waiting for a good DLC.
How To Disappear Completely and Pyramid Song were where I was blown away. I'm pretty sure I cried while being in awe.

I completely missed the pixel warehouse on my first and second plays. I had confused it with a different room. I was pleasantly surprised today when I decided to follow the sign and it took me there.
I would love to see if starset could make one of these or just a whole game in general since they have that whole story behind their music.

Funny, this reminded me a lot of the original Yume Nikki. Less of a game with clear objectives and more of a surreal experience go get lost in filled with cryptic and vaguely unsettling imagery.

I have a video project of my recording of Kid A from vinyl I arranged to go along with an edited version of the anime "Akira" (kid "A" for Akira) that fits the length of the album.
I'm very unfamiliar with uploads and have copyright flags on the tracks and video footage. Wondering how you were able to upload the tracks without flags. Maybe it's only the video footage holding me up, IDK.

Does anyone know how this is made? Is it 3d animations of real paintings?
Looks like a lot of the 3d models were probably just made based exactly on previous paintings, and those models were animated.
