- #Keybored #mechanicalkeyboard PREMIUM Custom Keyboard for ENTRY Price | QK65 by Qwertykeys (Owlab)
Too many times, there are claims made about the next "BEST Entry Enthusiast" Keyboard on the market. However, with the QK65 by Qwerty Keys (Owlabs Sister Company), it's the TRUTH. I won't belabor it... this is the best "ENTRY" keyboard you can buy... Because this is not really an "ENTRY" Keyboard at all... it's a PREMIUM board disguised by its $150 Price Tag.

I love when you go into detail about the science behind this stuff. This kind of detail is what I was looking for when I first go into the hobby, but no content creators seemed interested in talking about it.
:) Glad it's helpful! I have more coming!
I second this. I love learning this stuff!!!
That's because a lot of them probably didn't even know they science behind the sound. You'd need a background in a relevant field to know unless you're just naturally curious
Love the science portions! I did terrible in physics classes in school, so this helps a ton 👍
Thank you so much! It was very helpful for myself to speak with some experts out there. Truly opened my eyes to what is happening in these keyboards. Thank you for stopping by! :)
why hasnt anyone else replied lol
@@clockwise6503 waiting for their keyboard
where do you find the case. I know i'm late but I keep on looking for it and it is not showed in the instructions
Thanks for helping me understand why my keyboard sounds the way it does! The technical aspects of it is fascinating and your presentation go above and beyond for videos like this. Love it!
I really really really am loving the technical breakdowns in these videos. Please don't stop, and thank you!
Thank you so much! I have more coming!
This has to be the most detailed keyboard review video i have ever seen. Love it!
The black chroma looks sick! 🤭🤭
Haha, I went into it with a 14 min target... came out with 23 min
Man, I have watched this review so many times now. You really did a great job with it. I aspecially like your scientific segments, because they make the products and mods much more comparable. After comparing your sound test to the one from Jaeyou Park and nearLucid, I feel like the switches make the biggest difference: Compared to these lubed and filmed oil kings all other switches just sound a little scratchy. Would you agree?
Now it makes more sense how they reached the great price point and still providing a great product. Awesome. Appreciate the various configs sound tests, please consider keeping the config spec on screen for the whole test duration. Thank you for keeping us properly informed and educated
Thank you Ivo! Glad it was helpful
Another amazing video! thank you for the time you put into these. It's going to be hard not to consider buying this board but I already have a q2 so I'm thinking getting the space65 is my next move
I appreciate the effort and the science you put into these kinds of stuff. It's one of the reasons why I only watch your videos since details are very well explained. Keep it up, Scott!
:) Glad to hear that! I hope the content continues to be helpful and will have more videos like this in the future!
Great technical breakdown of the types of sound and the impacts of the weight of the board! Love the review of this keyboard and am grateful for your coverage of it. Never would have heard about it otherwise. Might have to pick it up now. Thanks again for the awesome content!
Thank you for your support, and glad it was helpful!
@@Keybored why not full stainless steal case?
Looove the scientific breakdown, I was already looking at this board from the other vids but now I am deadset on getting it. Thank you!
It really shouldn't be priced where it is... this is a much more expensive board
As someone who’s semi new to this stuff this video was fantastic. Your breakdown and technical knowledge helped me make the decision to spend money I don’t need to spend 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for making an awesome/informative video!
It is always a privilege to enjoy your videos. Thank you!
Man, you deserve a lot more subscribers! Your video editing, presentation, and style is so neat!
Take my money now!!! Great insightful review. Can't wait for this to be released although I just purchased the KDB67 Lite R3 a couple of days ago!!!
I learned so much! This is great! I'm going to send this video to all of my friends that want to talk about keyboard sound.
Subbed to your channel!
Really love the way you present, explain and review keyboard! Kepp on the great work
Great video! Honestly thinking this is what I've been looking for. The prices of many boards have just been too high for me to afford so this seems like it has the upmost attention to quality for the price.
not only do I get to enjoy a hobby I love, I also get to learn actual useful stuff! thanks!
Damn another awesome video! The sound of the board is soooo nice, I'm planning on getting the Bakeneko 65, then after that board, I'm try and get a Black Chroma version of the QK65 since it just looks so nice!
The Best keyboard channel rn! You are great! Thank you for teaching us some inpirtant stuff!
This is the perfect video i was searching for !
Now there's no more doubt
Even if it puts me in the doghouse, this is an instant buy! Thanks for the awesome video as always!
Your content is really awesome! I love how you incorporate science and every detail that we need to know and can use in this rabbit hole.
The rabbit hole is deep and wide! Haha, we need to best learn to navigate it :)
I was waiting for this review? preview? to hit my subscription page. The science talk about sound types is definitely appreciated. The more I see of the QK65, the more I'm impressed!
Love the technical detail! 🙌🏻
We've been blessed with a restock date! And BLUETOOTH! Will definitely be snagging one this time around!
The level of detail and effort you put into your content is astounding!
I'm definitely borrowing some of the knowledge you shared into my future builds.
Sounds good! Hope the info is helpful, and more coming!
Absolutely loved how you got into the nitty gritty of all these technical aspects. Ordered the QK65 with the oil kings and very excited for it to be my first build. Can you link where you got the wrist rest from? Having trouble finding the right size.
Your videos are great!
Thx for the content :)
Great review, now I need to figure out how to get my hands on one!
I've been looking up (and listening to) keyboard review videos for a whole slew of higher-end keyboards over the last few hours.
The sounds from this keyboard are truly ASMR-level. Thanks for the review (and the sounds)!
You're very welcome! The QK65 punches way above its weight and shouldn't really be considered a "entry" I feel
technical explanation was amazing. also, i’m ridiculously hyped for this board! can’t wait for it to drop; i really hope qwertykeys holds on their promise of stock
I hope so too! I need the black chroma!
Another great innovative board! It’s a great time to get into the keyboard community right now imo.
First time in 40 year I listen to a physic lesson and be interested in it. Thanks Scott !
Been waiting for this video for a while now but did not expect you to go that hard on details. Love me a great suprise!
Glad it was a good surprise!
Truly impressed by your humor, attention to detail, and in-depth analysis. AMAZING VIDEO
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind comments
Thanks for your information. Really love your video. It helps me alot
Thank you very much for such interesting and informative videos. I like very much. I look forward to more, with a detailed explanation of certain aspects of the keyboards.
More will be coming!
Love the science bits! Good work!
Keybored, I love the high quality content and creative videos. Keep up the great work!
:) Thank you so much! I will keep working on the info!
Scott always breaking things down to the science.... Amazing!
great video! its one reason I got this keyboard and a nice resource when I built it
Love how thorough this review was. What'd you lube and film your Oil Kings with? Absolutey in love with the first sound test with the FR4 plate
Really loving the technical breakdowns you've been doing. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I hope it's not too confusing!
@@Keybored It's not confusing at all, rather, it's very interesting. I've been intrigued by how things work the way they do, especially in this hobby that I love. Please keep it up!
@@Keybored not confusing at all. You're explainations are very clear and get the point across very well
One of the best keyboard videos out there! Loved the science portion.
ty for not clickbaiting with the $150 like EVERY other youtuber. you're def one of the most trusted keyboard creators my dude 🤘
Great video. What really sets you apart from every other keyboard UA-camr is I always manage to learn something new from every video you make.
:) Really happy to hear that! Hope the content is not too overbearing!
I really love your intros hahaha
I am so tempted by this board every time I see it, and your osume sakura caps reminded me I've got their Dusk coming.
I missed the Mode65 but this board in e-white + golden basically fills the aesthetic I would have chosen for the mode.
And the price differential is huge!
Informative. Really sets you apart from other youtubers!
Man used his time and gave us a whole science lesson! Thx! ❤️
:) It was so long to edit this thing! Lol
The presentation and delivery of scientific concepts keeps getting better! Keep it up, Scott!
:) Thank you so much Lawrence! Will try to connect with more experts to cover more topics!
I really love how you explain in a science term. Me my-self as a acoustic student we use a little different terms but I understand it right away
:) Glad to hear that! I will cover a bit more in the next few videos!
Great video! Keep em coming!
So excited with this product, good example for upcoming budget board to follow the trail or shadow this keyboard leaves behind. Thanks for the technical stuff as usual. Watching your video its awesome since I go from a person who like keyboard to person who is educated enough on keyboard.
:) Glad to hear that! The QK65 is just a great great board!
Professor Keybored does it again. Entertaining and informative. This is one class I’ll never skip.
:) Thank you novacain! I appreciate it!
I didn't need a new keyboard, now I want one
Great video too!!
I love watching your videos and learning about keyboard theory; sound theory with incorporated physics and chemistry. Keep up the great work. If there was a university course over keyboards, you’d be the best professor.
Edit: Oof, even physiology!
Haha, that would be so interesting!
Always fascinating with the science topic. Thank you, Scott!
You're very welcome!
One of the longest video on your channel, but still very enjoyable and informative. Excellent work as always!
I know! 23 Minutes!
I stopped myself from buying the Zoom 65 to save, but this review just makes me want to buy this one :(
Awesome review!
Thanks for the great video Scott! I have seen a few reviews on this and yours is by far the best. I'd really like to get this but the shipping is over 40$, I wish it went down
I think it's because it incorporates all taxes and all into the shipping cost. I believe it was similar for the other owlab boards as well
Been eyeing this board ever since I heard about it (I'm a new Owlabs addict :p). Thanks again for your analysis and scientific breakdown! You give me no hope for leaving the hobby xD. Also excellent switch choice.
:) The rabbit hole is too deep!
I just learned more from this video then I ever did in school! This man kills it every time
Just managed to secure an order for mine today, was all sold out in Singapore in less than 5 mins. Cannot wait to slap on that POM plate and oil king switches when the board arrives.
I really want this keyboard. 😍
Awesome video, as always. 🔥
Fantastic keyboard!
Interesting. It’s very similar to how people are able to shape their drum sound. Basically, drummers like to add lil pieces of material (like a pillow in the bass drum, or gaff tape and toilet paper on snare drums), to reduce the acceleration of the vibrations for both the drumhead and shell. This enables them to control the more unflattering overtones that natural to all drums. Been noticing this lately since I got into the keyboard hobby.
This board sounds soooooooooo good! It's so good! The creaminess and thocc, oh man! Hoping to get one someday.
I really hope Qwerty Keys is going to make money off of these. I imagine the margins for this is super tight considering the quality. Great video as always!
I can't even believe how they make money on this... they are also giving away like $50 in gifts
Die cast alu is dirty cheap to make, only the mould is expensive and that can be offset by large production volumes.
Pretty sure they are going to make a healthy profit ;)
Its an excelent cost effective idea that is going to be picked up by many other designers in the near future.
They really should work on their shipping logistics though.
150$ ? Great, i'll buy it.
190$ including shipping, meh, not so sure anymore.
@@dedelabinouze5110 Haha, you are lucky then.
If i was to buy it here in the EU, it would be 190$ +about 30$ for import tax +24% Vat, at minimum!
@@grsamael Welp i'm in the EU too, fvck me then
I'm a simple typist; I see a Keybored intro sketch, I click "like." 👏👏
And then later, I see deeper technical breakdowns with additional outside expertise -- and I feel warmly validated once again for my subscription to this channel. 🙌
:) Thank you for the kind words! Will have more vids continuing on the keyboard sound series... it's actually very cool once I found out that there is science behind all this
I like having the technical breakdowns, but would prefer to see then in a different video that is linked and referred to from others. A lot of the technical videos could then apply to multiple videos. And when someone wants to just see a review of a board they can just stick to that portion of the content. I enjoy the videos, please keep the great content coming!
Scott, right after you replied to me talking about how you wanted to apply your engineering knowledge for future videos, I didn't expect an even more in-depth physics lesson within a few hours.
You've really highlighted the value of this board, and I'm very likely to place an order when it's available here in Singapore. Keyboard companies shouldn't just send you samples, but pay you really well for it too, speaking as a marketing person. Thank you again! ☺️
:) Thank you Glenn! I have only been accepting boards that I find interesting to look at, so I guess I can call it more a passion project haha.
Loved this review!
Definitely buying this... !! 💯 This is awesome and at a very affordable price. 😁👍
Also you are definitely the GOAT keyboard youtuber. You are literally the only guy who actually explains why companies put these weights in!
:) Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words!
This is going to be my first custom, if I can get my hands on it.
Loving the sciencetefic sound breakdown keep up the good work.
:) You won't regret this board... it's just so good
@@Keybored I GOT IT! Cant wait :)
I really get how hard it is to explaining technical things and make it easy to understand, but as a nerdy guy myself, I appreciate you for doing this. You just earned yourself a new sunscriber.
:) Thank you so much for the sub! Glad the information was helpful!
I wasn’t quite a fan of mechanical stuffs in general and keyboards in specific but your breakdown and explanations got me into it. (irrelevant but I kinda like your hair style tho)
thanks so much for the reviewwwww omg this is so goooooodd
that sound is so unbelievably satisfying
Come on, this video should be the chapter 1 of this hobby. Thanks a lot for sciences included
I love that things are getting more affordable. This confuses me, but I love it.
Awesome review as always! I want to ask. Does this keyboard hard to build / assemble for someone who is going to buy this as their first custom keyboard? I almost bought Q2 but this review got me tempted. Thank you!
Guess I am getting yet another 65%! Been watching all the videos on this thing, and even though I own pricier builds already, I definitely am going to pick one up. It looks too good to pass on!
This review is stellar. Very fitting for such a great board.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the comments!
Damn, one of the most quality video on kb reviewing I have ever watched
Thank you! I appreciate it!
amazing intro as always keybored :D
:) Glad you like my cringy intros!
I love the viddeo! What is your filming and lubing process of the gateron oil kings? They sound phenomenal!
I really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos, keep it up! Do you have any other keycap or switch recommendations to go with this keyboard and are at a reasonable price?
Tactiles: Boba u4t, coffee chip ice cream
Linears: Epsilon, Nebula, Zaku
i don't think anything would have prepared me for how good that sound test was. im buying components for my first build and im shooting for a 'marbly' sound profile - which is how i'd describe this keyboards acoustics.
this also isn't the first video of yours where i've learned a lot of actionable advice. upgrading my like with a subscribe; keep up the great work!
Thanks! I appreciate the sub and glad to hear that the content was helpful!
Good stuff bro! always enjoy your analysis.
Thanks Clackbait! I appreciate it man!
Wow this is by far your best video imo, kudos to you.
Thank you so much! It was so much work lol
i love you for the science. similar concepts for switches and keycaps?
Really good video like always, happy late 50k btw
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
Hi, love your vids! By the way what films did you use on the gateron oil kings?
Been looking to pick up my first enthusiast level keyboard and this couldn't have came at a better time !!
This is it!
This is exactly the keyboard I've been looking for
great video! and great keyboard from owlab they proved(in my opinion) how much overpriced are most "premium'' and "novelty" keyboards without reason.
sheesh, this vid is epic! great job, man.
Thanks Mike! I hope it was helpful!
