I really believe God is good, and having satan betray Him in heaven where everything is perfect is proof that personalities with free will can go wayward even under the best circumstances
Well.....depends on how you define free. Remember God is omniscient, God created Satan knowing he would fall. In fact God planned on Satan falling as part of his broader plan. Satan still appears to have a will as do we, but from God's perspective we are simply doing what he foresaw we would do. The idea of free will in the Christian worldview is rather strange if you actually read your Bible. Judas was prophesied to betray the lord years before he was born. Jesus told Peter, you will deny me 3 times. Could peter have chosen otherwise? Could judas have chosen otherwise? No, it was preordained the path they would walk. From Peter and Judas's perspective, I'm sure they believed they were making a free will choice not that they were acting out what had already been foretold. It is a very interesting topic nonetheless, especially when you get into a thought experiment. Say for instance in the book of revelations it state the antichrist will go into the temple and demand they stop making sacrifices. Is even the antichrist unable to escape his fate and do what the lord has already predetermined for him to do? God is good, always because anything he does is good. It is not good because of my opinion, it is good because he has done it. God is the measure by which the word good has any meaning. He is the foundation upon which morality is built. God bless, the Book of Job is a great eye opener in this. John Piper has a wonderful and humbling sermon on the Book of Job.
@@Matt-bz5vg I think free will is a little different than we know. Like if we made a choice it created a multiverse. Like idk how to explain it, but every thing is doing God's will and not at the same time. God made them free so they can weave their own destiny but since God sees everything he already saw the future u were going to go through, and he saw this with infinite possibilities. Thus u have free will, but there are also other versions of you who made other choices and spawned other stories, therefore u have free will, just not in the sense u think cuz God sees every reality u will go through. Thats what I think atleast
@@todddogg7817 God will be saved?? That is a bit of a blasphemous statement. I pray you don't actually think that. How can an eternal being that is perfect in every way need saved?
Jesus is saying to everyone who rejects him and dies in their sins and ultimately ends up in hell it would be better if that person had never been born:
“John 13:2, the Last Supper, ‘The devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him.’ So instances like this. Jesus calls Judas a devil in John 6. Jesus says it would be better for that man never to have been born than to do the things he has done. So I suppose we could multiply many examples from Scripture alone that point to the fact that Judas did not go to heaven: Its also my personal belief that a spirit filled person does not commit suicide.
This strangely made sense. God did it the best possible way for God to carry out his will while still giving us free will. Now that shows God's brilliance and power if you ask me.
HI We do not have Free Will. When Eve sinned and ate the forbidden fruit she was COUNTERMANDING God's will, and this made a saviour necessary, because 'ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God'. ' Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!' ' If you love me do my commands' NO FREE WILL! Only OBEDIENT will is acceptable! Jesus/ Yeshua OBEYED the Father unto the death of the cross! Because THIS was the Father's will! He said 'If it were possible take this cup from me, NEVERTHELESS not MY WILL but THINE be done. ' So called ''Free will' is really only ' Carnal will'. Peter said ' For there is none other name under heaven wherewith we MUST be saved'. Satan seemed 'Free' to Eve when he made her question God's command about the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Was she exercising her ' Free will' when she decided to eat from it? NO she was putting herself ABOVE God's direct command which made her and Adam and their heirs forfeit rulership of the earth to Satan! Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua.

@@marktombazian6490 We're in a dimension of time. The brain can not comprehend the infinite. However, you are fulfilling prophecy in your simple claim. For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed by being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:3-9
God could've killed Eve right on the spot before she went to Adam after her meeting with the serpent. God could've also kiled the serpent right before he tempted Eve. But as we now know God had a long term plan to redeem mankind through his Son. What love is greater than this?

Examples of hyperbole in English: 1) I told you a million times. 2) I was so hungry I could eat a horse. 3) I was so embarrassed I could die. 4) I ate so much I could burst. 5) He would give you the shirt off his back. 6) He scared me to death. While these expressions may or may not make sense if translated to other languages, fluent English speakers understand that they are not literal and not meant to be taken at face value. Likewise, other languages have their own expressions that do not translate easily to English. Jesus’ words concerning Judas Iscariot is one such expression in the cultural and linguistic context of that day.
Hyperbole is really a lie and is not of God. "I told you a million times" is a lie if you only told me 30 times. God would not lie and does not condone lying.
@@Kaho there are at least 16 biblical references across both testiments saying do not lie and not one of them says wellllll, it depends, maybe, consider the context... it's very clear.
@@LouisFGraham Then you're missing the point, basically the lesson here is read it in context, you need to be aware of how you distinguish hyperbole from the literal meaning of the phrase. Like for example in Deuteronomy 7 God said WIPE all the women, children, animals; then the next verse says don't intermarry with them. If you just wipe everybody out how can you intermarry with them, they're dead. Is God a liar for saying that? NO, you reconcile this by distinguishing Hyperbolic language.
@@Kaho no God does not lie, if you believe in God, and these two versus are not in contradiction. They also have nothing to do with lying. Dont try to deflect and distract from the issue at hand. There is absolutely no reason for children of God to lie in any context. You're looking for an excuse or justification to lie. You can lie if you want. You have free will. Just be honest about it and accept that it's not Godly. We do tons of things all the time that are not Godly, lying by hyperbole is one of them. If you can lie through omission, certainly intentional lying through hyperbole is categorically a lie.
For what do I need to be forgiven? I'm not one that ascribes all the horrible and ridiculous things that the Bible says about God to an actual God. If God is truly perfect, I honestly believe those that believe in the Bible are indefensibly wrong.

He created everything out of nothing. He has no beginning and he has no end. We belong to him and we will return to him.
Opinion: God created all people with 100% free will. He separated himself from their free will so people can choose to truly love him, or not. This is the only way for true love to exist, it cannot be forced. That being said, he also knows/knew all the choices that people make/made before they happened. Judas was free to choose and Jesus was saying that would be better to never exist than to persecute/deny God. Rough to think about, but it does give good perspective on how we should live our lives.
So why let those non believers be born in the first place! Seems more practical to just let those who believe in him be the ones who enter the Earth. If the non believers have no choice at all and are destined to burn in Hell why even have them be born into this world... doesn’t sound like free will when God always knows who will love them.

He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.......And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father Yes, Jesus is God.
@@mitchellc4 well it's both simple and complicated at the same time isn't it haha, as are all the things of the Father, Son, and Holy spirit, God the Father exists, being ONE with his only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy spirit that is in both of them, and is of the Father, and thus of the Son, Jesus and God are DISTINCT in that they have their own personalities, however they are also one, and it's no surprise that a perfect Father (God) and perfect Son (Jesus) would also be very much the same, as the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and Jesus being ONE with God, and the Son, whom are both the alpha, omega, who always have been and always will be, the beginning, and the end, acts as a son, and God being the Father acts as a Father, even though they are ONE that is the order of Gods very nature, hence the Father is the head of Christ (the son) and Christ the head of man, and man the head of woman, and his children etc. God gave his Son Jesus an inheritance, as every good father is to give to his son, Jesus's inheritance was his name to be exalted above all others, and to have power over both heaven and earth, as scripture states. It all makes sense (as much as something like this can to a man i suppose haha) when you think about it, God the Father issued the orders of creation to his Son Jesus, who followed his fathers commands, and created all he was commanded, and in turn came to us and spoke his Fathers words as commanded, to all of us, for as Jesus said, he speaks not his own words, but the words of him who sent him. And we as Good servants and sons to Christ, should likewise obey etc, as should those who we are heads over. Hopefully i didn't butcher that too much lol, but this is my current understanding, and as paul says, "he who thinks he knows, knows not yet as he ought to know", perhaps one day this will be an incredibly easy to understand concept, but as of most things of God, for us humans, it's hard to comprehend. @Medicel Doctor - I'm not a Calvinist brother, nor does God "force" (program) anyone to commit sin. Just because God knew what you would do before the thought even entered your mind and used your willful actions for his glory and purposes, doesn't mean that he robbed you of your free will and force you to commit those sinful actions. God is not a deceiving hypocrite. James 1:13-15 (KJV) 13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Judas was a money hungry thief from the beginning, he did what he did willfully when he gave in to his fleshly desires (Lust).
@Medicel Doctor - brother you can't blame Satan for every sinful action that we commit, for we in the flesh have a sin nature. Our flesh lives for the moment hence why we have an internal desire to do that which we know is wrong, Paul the apostle talked about this. Satan tempts us, yes, but our flesh always tempts regularly, hence why Paul said that we must wrestle with our old man daily. This aligns with what the Lord Jesus commanded us to do daily, when he said that we must deny ourselves (fleshly desires) and pick up their cross daily (resist and strive to turn from our sins daily).

Judas had a free will whether to betray or not to betray Lord. He had choose to betray Lord and because of that action, he committed great sin by breaking the 1st of 10 God commandments (Love God).

@Morphelia sometimes a person can do something so devastating that they don't come back from it, it changes who they are as a person and they go over the edge
@Morphelia God knows everything each person will ever do in their lives. Because He already knows, all we are really doing is just living out what He knows we will do into fulfillment. We really don't have the freedom to change it, because as God already knows it means it's set. Nothing surprises Him, every decision we make is simply already set from the beginning. What God knows will happen must happen, every step we take is only the fulfillment of the outcome that He has foreseen. If we truly had full freedom we could change our outcomes even from what was already set in place. Only God has that power and ability, but He doesn't not use it in our lives.

He did create a universe where everyone is saved. Then Adam sinned, and through one man, sin entered the world. Then God became flesh, and was hung on the cross, and became sin, who knew no sin, so that we can be saved through faith in Jesus, if we trust that Jesus took our sin upon Himself from us.

@@kayka5090 God did that to show US we NEED a Savior. It was for OUR example. Otherwise, we'd all be wondering, Why, What if, Maybe not.. How come.. And so on.. The OT shows us our need for a Savior. It had to be a sinless/perfect person to bear the sins of this world, He even said the animal sacrifices weren't enough. God's perfect plan to save us, He came as a Man, like us, but perfect and sinless and took the punishment on the cross that we deserved, upon Himself. J Don God didn’t fail, he simply chose to give us free will, otherwise He’d have created robots, and as God is outside of time, what happened 6000 years ago, to God that was only 6 days ago, but yet, no 1 is forcing you to believe, did anyone force you to watch the video, nope, you chose to, same as it’s your choice if you wanna live in eternal paradise 1 day....., or the other option, as God is the creator, it’s a bit like the CEO and founding person of a business, it’s you choice to be part of that company if you’re offered a position.....
When I first started listening to the fellow's question, I ALSO thought he might have been attempting to present Frank with an unresolvable conundrum. However, at the end, I got the impression his question was SINCERE, after all.
Thank you for not doing the typical “if it’s not in *the Bible, we aren’t supposed to know. Ask God and forget about it” response… the church is dying because of the response I mentioned. Ty
I think you also are mistaking people's choice to do what they do, with God's predermination that they would do it. See Isaiah 10:5-19: The Lord SENT the King of Assyria to Judah to punish them, to "trample them down like mud in the streets," Saying that the King of Assyria is "the rod of my anger" and "the club of my wrath." Then He (The Lord) says to the King "But this is not what he (the king) intends...his purpose is to destroy" God then says (paraphrasing) even though I was the one who sent him and wielded him like an ax, he did what he did for his own wicked purpose and therefore I will punish him. At one in the same time God ordained that the King of Assyria would do what he did and yet what the king did was by HIS wicked choice and was justly punished. See also Isaiah 37: "Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, this is the word which the Lord has spoken CONCERNING HIM:....“Did you not hear long ago How I made it, From ancient times that I formed it? Now I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO PASS, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins." God ordained it from "long ago" that the King of Assyria would be used as a "club" for "crushing fortified cities.." And yet, it WAS the king's "will" to do what he did. The free will of men to do what they "want" to do is not subverted by God's sovereignty and foreordaining of "whatsoever comes to pass."
There was no choice.... You are saying that Jesus might've not been betrayed?? Judas could've not delivered Jesus to the Pharisees to be killed? No, no, and no. Jesus was slain before the foundations of the world. He was predestined to be killed so that salvation would be possible. It didn't just happen, this was God's plan from the beginning. Now we can debate over free will all you want, but free will is an assumption by man that is not affirmed in the bible. But free will is not possible since God is sovereign and he declares the end from the beginning and no one can stay his hand with their "free will". "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? " -Daniel 4:35. Now just because God predestined Judas to do what he did doesn't mean that Judas isn't responsible for it. Judas was born into sin with a fallen nature and God doesn't have to force any sinner to sin, he uses their sinful ways to fulfill his plans. As it is written in Romans 9:15 "For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
@A Aron I think you make some good points. The only thing I'd add which is an elaboration from something else frank has said which is the timing at which Christ came into the world. He not only knew what would happen if he created every little minor detail of creation and all the possibilities but as part of those possibilities he foresaw that by doing everything in the way he did when would be the perfect time he needed to enter the world to deliver it to create the best possible outcome. God chose this exact way within his identity as perfection, and as perfection he knew this was the perfect way to interact with a severely imperfect world. Glad to hear your thoughts on what I've written to make sure I'm not mistaken in any part.

Quite arrogant for a valid question. That guy is definitely a believer furthering his understanding. I️ bet you’re solely intrigued by the “who created God” “why are we here” type questions. Step off.
God didn't create us to be robots. He created us to have free will, to choose to do good or evil. Judas chose to do evil, and Jesus saw that he was going to betray Him.
It was the plan of God to come into this world as a man (Jesus) to die for our sins, and be risen on the third day. But what I don't believe, and I would like for you to give a scripture for, is that Judas was born to betray Jesus. It was his choice, and Jesus saw that he was going to make that choice. Do you remember the story of Adam and Eve? They had a choice, choose to obey God and live or disobey God and die. They chose to disobey, and it wasn't God who made them disobey.
@@othellostewart8173 Thats the thing that bothers me, you talk about god and how he has a plan and then go on to say that he gives us free will to choose but dont those things contradict? A plan is a set of steps that we need to follow where as free will is about doing whatever you want with your life. And you mention that god created Judas just so he could betray Jesus because his plan required it and then later on make him commit suicide for the thing he had to do just so gods plan worked, doesnt that sound the least bit screwed up to you?
We have free will to choose to live according to his words or commandments. Which if we do, will be counted worthy to live with Him in heaven. But if we choose to disobey the word of God or live in sin, will be cast into the lake of fire on the day of judgement.
And I think you are mixing up my comments with the other person's. I never said that Judas was born to betray Jesus. It was the other person's point, in which I disagreed.
@@othellostewart8173 first off sorry for mixing comments up, its nice that you think that it is screwed for god to do something like that. Second off, you still arent addressing the question. If god has a plan for everything then wouldnt that neglect free will since free will is where we choose how we wish to live our life? From what i understand from your definition of free will, we get to choose whether we follow god or not, id like to add, but if youre an atheist or non-religious or anything else that does follow god then you get to be horribly tortured in hell.
See and I was seeing it as Jesus saying if he had never been born then his soul would still be saved. Because the souls of children that have never been conceived would be with God but a soul conceived and born and rejects God is lost for eternity?
The verse makes us consider the consequences of sin. It's simple- he lived and sinned. If Judas hadn't been born, he wouldn't be responsible. But, since he lived and made the sinful choices he did, death resulted.
It's a valid argument but you are seriously over reaching to claim it is the truth. It could be true, which is enough for the sake of argument. But we can't *know* that it's true, and so it's not within our moral authority to behave as though it is

A righteous and sovereign God (the way christianity views it) is all Good and all powerful. A loving good God would not force his creation to love him and worship him(that wouldn’t be a good loving God). And that is what leads to free will.
God is good in wholesome ways, the wholesome ways that take effort, work and time to produce the favorable outcome you so want, ex, being faithful to your spouse to not break your vows made under god (for anyone this is difficult, the eye wanders and dirty thoughts can run rampant if unchecked.). on the other hand, the devil works in ways that _seem_ good at the time, but leave you without a satisfied feeling so you crave more and become more wrapped in sin, ex, having more than enough money but not giving a dollar or more to someone or something that truly needs it. while god is the true good, the true hope, the devil is _extremely_ good at masquerading.
The problem is that Peter describes Christ's betrayal and death as "predestined plan of God". (Acts 2, Acts 4). This goes well beyond "foresee" and "foreknow". It means "foreordination". Jesus knew from the beginning who would betray Him (John 6:64ff), yet still called Judas to come and follow Him. If I knew what was in store for Judas, I think I would have told him "get outta Dodge and don't look back. You'll thank me later." Instead, by calling Jesus to Him, Jesus made him all the more culpable, because now he's betraying a friend and not just some stranger.

I have read several exegesis of scholars regarding this passage, and none used Frank's hyperbolic approach. The life of the biblical characters was harsh, and sometimes felt unfair. -Adam' sin brought death on the world. -Aaron died because of Moses (disobedience) hitting the rock with his staff instead of talking to it. -God wanted to kill Moses for an unknown reason. -Abraham nearly killed his son on God's command. -Thousands of David's army died because he(David) boasted in his heart. -Isaiah was dismembered. -Steven was stoned to death. -John the baptist was beheaded. -Paul was beheaded. -Peter was crucified. -James was stoned to death. -Etc... We often try to dilute the text in order to see something more "loving" in it. When metaphors are used in the Bible it is often obvious, but Jesus' claim about Judas being hyperbolic, I'm not really sure. Judas betrayed God for money and died before the new covenant was made. But at the same time Judas' crime was part of God's plan to redeem humanity. Jesus seems to say that Judas will go through such a terrible "thing" that it would have been better for him to be never born. Well, I personally hope that Judas (and everybody else in this world) will be saved. Even though universalism is not a biblical concept.
nice-new that’s inaccurate Aaron didn’t hit the rock moses did. That’s why God took his life. Both God and Abraham knew that his child wasn’t going to die. God was just testing him to see if he would trust God.
Judas was not saved. Satan entered into him at the Last Supper, and Jesus referred to him as the son of perdition (eternal punishment). He also committed suicide. See John 13:26-27 and 17:12, and Matthew 27:3-5.

With that logic, you could say that God shouldn’t have created anything and just looked into the future to see who would believe in him IF he created the universe- but not actually create the universe and then put all those people in heaven. I think he asked Abraham to do that to actually give him the chance to choose - because that’s what free-will is.

I understand you can't answer this question, but to make excuses and give ridiculos answers doesn't help anyone understand better. It says in the bible Ezekiel 18 1-19 that the son shouldn't be held accountable for the father's sin. But that is exactly what is happening , there is no freewill since we born with sinful nature we can't help but sin it's rediculas to blame a fish for not able to fly
I really believe God is good, and having satan betray Him in heaven where everything is perfect is proof that personalities with free will can go wayward even under the best circumstances
👏👏
Well then perhaps God will be saved in the end!
That's a good explanation.
Yes, that’s right.
@Allen Trey repenting of sins doesnt save you. He still didnt trust or believe in the Savior
@Allen Trey and what does this have to do with Judas?

We do not have Free Will.

Examples of hyperbole in English:
1) I told you a million times.

Opinion: God created all people with 100% free will. He separated himself from their free will so people can choose to truly love him, or not. This is the only way for true love to exist, it cannot be forced. That being said, he also knows/knew all the choices that people make/made before they happened. I'll summarise the important points:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.......And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father
Yes, Jesus is God.
God bless you and keep you :)
@@mitchellc4 i didn't disagree that the Father is the head of Christ, it's clearly outlined in scripture...... That doesn't change that it's also scripture that as his inheritance he's given command of heaven and earth, and his name exalted above all others... nevertheless Christ will always be the Son, and our Father in heaven will always be the Father, and they will always simultaneously also be ONE with each other, and the holy spirit.
James 1:13-15 (KJV)
13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

He didn't really have a choice being destined to betray Jesus. When something is destined all other possibilities become rot. Whatever is destined to be will be no matter what. The guy had no more certain outcome than the one that happened. That's fate, you can't change it. It's set as a bigger plan that you don't control.

People mistake foreknowledge with predetermination. God knew what Judas would do, but it was still Judas choice to do so.
I think you also are mistaking people's choice to do what they do, with God's predermination that they would do it.
See Isaiah 10:5-19:
The Lord SENT the King of Assyria to Judah to punish them, to "trample them down like mud in the streets," Saying that the King of Assyria is "the rod of my anger" and "the club of my wrath." Then He (The Lord) says to the King "But this is not what he (the king) intends...his purpose is to destroy"
God then says (paraphrasing) even though I was the one who sent him and wielded him like an ax, he did what he did for his own wicked purpose and therefore I will punish him.
At one in the same time God ordained that the King of Assyria would do what he did and yet what the king did was by HIS wicked choice and was justly punished.
See also Isaiah 37:
"Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, this is the word which the Lord has spoken CONCERNING HIM:....“Did you not hear long ago
How I made it,
From ancient times that I formed it? Now I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO PASS, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins."
God ordained it from "long ago" that the King of Assyria would be used as a "club" for "crushing fortified cities.." And yet, it WAS the king's "will" to do what he did. The free will of men to do what they "want" to do is not subverted by God's sovereignty and foreordaining of "whatsoever comes to pass."
That doesn't make sense
Another saying I've heard is: (Because of prophecy) there had to be a Judas, but it didn't have to be Judas.

@@Loverw123 no
He is the only one that is good.
A righteous and sovereign God (the way christianity views it) is all Good and all powerful. A loving good God would not force his creation to love him and worship him(that wouldn’t be a good loving God). And that is what leads to free will.
God is good in wholesome ways, the wholesome ways that take effort, work and time to produce the favorable outcome you so want, ex, being faithful to your spouse to not break your vows made under god (for anyone this is difficult, the eye wanders and dirty thoughts can run rampant if unchecked.).
on the other hand, the devil works in ways that _seem_ good at the time, but leave you without a satisfied feeling so you crave more and become more wrapped in sin, ex, having more than enough money but not giving a dollar or more to someone or something that truly needs it.
while god is the true good, the true hope, the devil is _extremely_ good at masquerading.

foreknowledge is not foreordination. Judes had free will. The passage simply is idiom for "Judas royally screwed himself. "

You'll thank me later."

There’s no such thing as freewill or he wouldn’t have kept intervening.
So God is powerful enough to create a universe but powerless to force free will creatures to choose him? So you're saying that God is impotent? Wow, that makes sense lol
Kraoking XYZ god did not choose to intervene I don't know if there is a God but according to the bible God can change free will by why give free will and intervene that defeats the purpose
@@MartTLS How can one 'intervene' when everything is predetermined? Doesn't 'Intervening' denote things can be changed/redirected towards a more favorable outcome? Also, how many times did God intervene only for the people to revert back to their old ways/nature? It's almost like choice is a factor here. Otherwise God would've just forced everyone to act just as he wanted and they simply align with and permanently and stick to it.

Wise men don't believe in things without justification.
There's no justification for believing in the supernatural, we have no way to confirm the supernatural, we have no way to know if the universe even "began" to exist.
Yet Turek not only thinks he knows that the universe began to exist but he knows that it was created and he knows who created it.
You can't get more arrogant than that.

@Christopher Guillory I consider myself a Calmenian, Chris. Free will but the saved cannot lose their salvation. However, I do believe a person can sin away any chance to be saved, i.e. Pharaoh and many of the Sanhedrin of Jesus' time being a good example. They hardened their hearts to the point that God hardened it even more for them. Before you question me (if you were going to) Romans 9 kinda backs me up on this. Just sayin'.
To be fair, the questioner misunderstood the what Jesus meant when he uttered those words about Judas.

@@WeWantYouToStay In an earlier post somewhere in here I made it very clear that if I was forced to choose between Calvinism and Arminianism, I would choose Calvinism. Every person born has free will, that is the gift God gives us. The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob is the first ever pro choice advocate. Choose Him or not. No matter what you believe He still is. Just and right
Cheryl Kehoe Amen!
I dont think you understand what pro-choice really means. Pro-choice is the side that agrees that abortions should stay legal. Just a minor error correction.
There really isnt any scriptural evidence to support "free will". God controls everything. People do not have a choice in their salvation. In Roman's 3 you will read how there is NONE righteous and how NONE Seek after God. If we are told that no one seeks after God the only conclusion left is that GOD does ALL the saving. You choose nothing.
maxinvasionleet The mere fact that we can choose to love him or not exemplifies our free will. Without free will, we are not free to love or free not to love.

Ever contemplate how no one had any idea Judas was the one who would betray Jesus. Jesus loved Judas, knowing the entire time he'd betray Him, yet never gave any indication Judas would be the one.

People are so desperate to find any reason to discredit God.
I think a lot of people need a reason, a real, valid reason, to give credit to a god.
At least they ask out, they are interested. He could have kept that question to himself and judge God just like that, but he searched for a reasonable answer.

19% say they do not believe in god.
The entire prison population consists of only .07% atheist.
It has nothing to do with more desirable choices - it's very simply put, that your god does not exist.
This is why first world countries are all seeing major declines in the age of information - mythology holds no place among the intelligent.
Education and atheism carry a direct correlation as well.
The more educated the more likely you will be atheist.
Religion is nothing more than a crutch for the naive, less educated, and less moral.
You will not see an honest person believe god exists and say they don't believe in his action - because that would be dishonest.
He does not exist.

My Brothers and sister never ever forget Jehovah and Jesus is important not only Jehovah or only Jesus. Both of Them have their name in THE prayer
@@jairohernandez9538 Yes you're right, it was Moses. But Aaron died for Moses' mistake. I rectified my comment.
About Abraham, I am not sure why God, being all-knowing, would need to test anyone to see their reaction.
I always struggle with this kind of passage, because they seems harsh and bizarre.
nice-new “I’m not sure god being all knowing would need to test someone to see their reaction”
I don’t think that is why he did it but IF that is why, it doesn’t have anything to do with his all knowing. If anything, it could’ve been to make a good bible story to teach people with. With that logic, you could say that God shouldn’t have created anything and just looked into the future to see who would believe in him IF he created the universe- but not actually create the universe and then put all those people in heaven.
I think he asked Abraham to do that to actually give him the chance to choose - because that’s what free-will is.
We have the freedom to choose whatever path we want. However we don’t have the choice of the consequences of our actions.

God DID know who would be saved and who would reject Him before He set creation in motion, that is why He gave us the way back to Him through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God also knew Lucifer would rebel against Him and the 3rd of the angels who followed Lucifer and they became Satan and the demons. He knew that Satan would deceive Eve and that she and Adam would bring sin into mankind! With that being said, God did not create us as robots who would serve Him because we were programmed to do so, He gave us free will to CHOOSE to love Him or reject Him. The world is what it is because it is the only way it could have been with us having the freedom of choice to love Him or not. Even though He knew that giving us free will would cause us to rebel, He also knew to give us a way back home. Thank you Jesus for being that way!
but we should not have a choice because if we make the wrong one and enough times which happens to the majority of the population of Earth constantly forever unwavering the wrong choice most of the time we choose the wrong choice every day we do the wrong thing every day how was that love if we can just be controlled like an organic mechanical machine that God owns and we only do the right choice that's more loving to me not to have the choice to do the wrong thing but only have the no choice to do always the right thing that's more loving than having inability to do the wrong choice and then ending up tortured for all eternity in hell so if you remove the choices from people and only are able to make the right decisions then that is love because if you have the choice not to make the right decision a lot of the time you will make the wrong decisions go to hell and be tortured for all eternity. . , Edit box
@@abisamraj4408 if we were forced to love God, that would not be true love. True love requires free will, other wise it is pointless and not really love. I am just grateful that God gave us a way to avoid eternal separation. Hell, or hades, was not created for mankind, it was created for the devil and his angels(demons). None of us have to end up there. Just you responding to this gives you no excuse on judgment day, you will not be able to tell the Lord that you didn't know how to become His child! Every religion on earth that believes in one God and heaven or hell, tells you that you have to earn your way to salvation. This is what is unique about Christianity (following the Christ), we only need to trust Him and believe he died and resurrected to pay for our sins. We also need to repent and do our best to turn from sin. He was tortured and humiliated by His own creation so that He could give us a way back to the Father , now that is true love!
Question: since we are all under the wrath of God because of one man Adam, (we have no say in the matter), why is it that we are not all saved because of what Jesus did??
In other words, we are all guilty of sin (automatically) through Adam, why are we not all made righteous automatically through Christ?
Unless one believes and repents, there is no salvation, so though Adams sin exclusively condemned all of the human race, Jesus’ death on cross did not save all men, only those who believe/repent,.
@@abisamraj4408 I do not claim to have all of the answers, I look to what has been revealed to us through scripture and while it may seem "unfair" to you, the bible makes it clear that we are all sinners inherently because Even and Adam brought sin into the world. Here's the thing, you do not have to face the wrath of God even still, trusting in Jesus is the way to escape that wrath. It is provided freely, so me, you and all of humanity have the choice to accept the gift of salvation, that is totally up to the individual. If a person hears this truth and rejects it, then it is rebellion against God, therefore we all get what we want in the end, either an everlasting loving relationship with our Maker, or eternal separation from Him.
@@BXN8IVE I don't want either of those Tel me if there is way to eskape from both heaven and hell your theology e is absolutely unfair We would only sin because we were born with the sin nature or flesh. It says in the bible Ezekiel 18 1-19 that the son shouldn't be held accountable for the father's sin.
